The Life Principle
I do not believe that I have ever heard or read of anyone attempting to explain the principle behind life. Quite a few have attempted to define it, but definitions rarely deal with principles.
My online dictionary defines life as;
“The state of being alive.”
Then it goes on to define the word “alive” as
“living and not dead.”
Science goes a little further and defines life as something that is organic, capable of growing and reproducing.
Again, that doesn’t get close to the principle.
Metaphysical teachers take the definition quite a bit further and maintain that all things are alive, whether they be human, animal, plant or mineral. They see the earth, the solar system and even the universe itself as being living things.
That is all well and good, but expanding upon the definition of life does not tell us what life is.
Simply put life is motion animated by intelligent will.
Our physical bodies are alive because within them there are all kinds of things in motion animated by intelligent will. The heart is the center of life for it is the pump that sets all things in motion that makes life possible for the physical body.
The body is a composite life consisting of many smaller ones. Within us are at least 37 trillion cells and trillions more bacteria, all are alive on their tiny scale. Each cell is composed of more atoms than there are cells in our body. It boggles the mind, when one considers how small a cell is, that it is estimated to contain about 100 trillion atoms.
Cells and atoms have lots of intelligently directed motion within them; therefore, they are alive.
Heat is caused by motion. The more intense the motion the greater the heat and more intense the associated fire.
Each life has it its center a source of heat and motion. For the human body as a whole it is the heart. Atoms and cells have a vibrating nucleus. The earth has a very hot center registering around 10,800 degrees F. Then the solar system itself has a very hot and radiant sun for its center.
We have been talking about life and motion expressing itself in the dense physical plane, but the vehicles of life are much more than this. Above the physical is the astral/emotional plane and above that is the mental. These planes are composed of various grades of matter that are also in motion.
After death we do not go to oblivion but merely manifest as beings composed of intelligent matter in motion on a higher plane.
There are two aspects of life in manifestation: Objective life and the subjective. Objective life manifests in the physical, astral/emotional and the mental, which are called the three worlds of form.
Objective life is life that is encountered and known through the perception of form and the relationship of one form with another.
Subjective life is that which exists beyond the states of matter in the higher spiritual realms. There is still intelligent motion there but the motion is of spiritual essence, or the source of energy itself ,which creates a spiritual fire.
In the worlds of form, including the physical, the higher life of the spiritual fire can be felt by the spiritual essence within us. When it is felt by the seeker he is aware of motion, heat and fire. Most of all, he is aware of greater life essence.
Fire internal, inherent and latent; fire radiatory and emanative; fire generated, assimilated and radiated; fire vivifying stimulating, and destroying; fire transmitted, reflected, and absorbed; fire, the basis of all life; fire, the essence of all existence; fire, the means of development, and the impulse behind all evolutionary process; fire, the builder, the preserver and the constructor; fire, the originator, the process and the goal; fire the purifier and the consumer. The God of Fire and the fire of God interacting upon each other, till all fires blend and blaze and till all that exists, is passed through the fire from a solar system to an ant and emerges as a triple perfection.
