ACIM Conversations, Part 25

ACIM Conversations, Part 25
Creation vs Made

Student: I’ve been getting a lot of grief among students over my use of the word “creation.” If I use it referring to anything in this world, they correct me and tell me that everything here is “made” not created.

Teacher: Yes, I know, some who are very black and white will correct you even though your English is correct, and it is obvious what you are saying. Can you give me an example of a correction?

Student: I could give you several. The other day I mentioned something about the creation of the universe we see about us and I was jumped upon with a correction telling me that this world was “made,” not “created,” and this isn’t even the real universe. Then I was talking about the creation of some new offerings by Apple and was corrected again telling me that all Apple products are “made,” not created.

Teacher: Do you think the students understood what you were saying?

Student: I’m sure they did.

Teacher: Then they need to take the Course’s advice: “To communicate is to join and to attack is to separate.” T-8.VII.12 Are you familiar with the Course’s differentiation between “create” and “made?”

Student: I think so, but will be interested in your comments.

Teacher: Why do you suppose they corrected you?

Student: I felt like they were just trying to demonstrate a superior knowledge of the Course.

Teacher: Yes, and it is a problem that some are more determined to be technically correct than in understanding each other with real communication. Read this extract as it is perhaps the most common one to stress the difference in the two words:

Student: “A clear distinction between what is created and what is made is essential. All forms of healing rest on this fundamental correction in level perception.” T-2.V.A.12

Teacher: Here it seems to stress the importance of understanding the difference in the two words, but now read the same text before it was edited:

Student: “Clear distinction between what has been created and what is being created is essential. All forms of correction (or healing) rest on this fundamental correction in level perception.” OE Tx:3.5

Wow! In the original edition the word “made” is not even used. When it talks about “what has been created,” what does it mean?

Teacher: It is referring to miscreations of the past here in this world that cause our problems. They need to be replaced with correct creation the Course refers to as the “miracle.”

Student: So, instead of “made” Jesus himself in his original dictation used the word “created” in referring to what has been made in this world. I wonder if those critical students are upset at Jesus when they read the original.

Teacher: I wouldn’t bet on it, but one can see where they have made the distinction because the Course often uses “creation” in reference to eternal things and the word “made” in relation to the temporary things of this world, but just as you may use the word “create” sometimes in reference to this world so does the Voice in the Course. In fact, there are 27 times the Course refers to things made in this world as “miscreation.” Here is one for you to read.

Student: “The fundamental conflict in this world, then, is between creation and miscreation. All fear is implicit in the second, and all love in the first. The conflict is therefore one between love and fear.” T-2.VII.3

Teacher: It is interesting that “miscreation,” or things made in this world, has the word “creation” in it. If nothing else, this illustrates the impracticality of insisting that creation must only refer to what God directly makes. Read this quote in the original text:

Student: “The acceptance of the Atonement by everyone is only a matter of time. In fact, both time and matter were created for this purpose.” OE Tx:2.47

Teacher: Time and matter belong to the world, not heaven, and here it says they were originally created. Time and matter are a part of the dream also indicating the original dream state was an idea created by the Godlike powers of the Son for an idea is eternal and cannot be destroyed.

Student: Now I do not feel so bad for using “create” in reference to some things in this world.

Teacher: This problem just illustrates the importance of looking at the context of what is said and seeking to understand rather than insisting on some literal accuracy being always applied.

That said, it is helpful for Course students to understand the general distinction it makes between “creation” and “made.” First, can you tell me the difference as seen by the general public using dictionary definitions?

Student: I’d say that when you create something you are putting together something new, like Edison did with the light bulb. Since then, many have made light bulbs. We make things by duplicating the original idea.

Teacher: Is this how your student friends used these words when they corrected you?

Student: No. They tell me that create is to only be used in relation to something eternal that God makes and is not to be used in reference to anything in the world

Teacher: So, using this definition then we would have to say that Edison made the light bulb.

Student: Yes, with this definition there would be no differentiation between what Edison did and what a manufacturer does in copying it, for they are both done in the world.

Teacher: And this points us to an important key in understanding the Course. It sometimes usus a definition of terms peculiar to itself, and if the student is not aware of this, he may not fully understand what is being said. For instance, we talked earlier about forgiveness and how its meaning in the Course differs from the dictionary.

Student: So exactly what would be the definition of creation according to ACIM?

Teacher: The Course tells us that true creation involves extending that which is eternal, basically anything that has an end is considered being made, not created. God creates by extending Himself in creating additional sons through sharing. The idea of sharing is an essential ingredient in the process as noted here:

“You cannot separate your Self from your Creator, Who created you by sharing His Being with you.” T-7.V.6

Basically, true creation, according to ACIM, is the complete sharing of everything that is eternal. We are told that we cannot fully understand this until we return to our eternal state.

Are there any other areas where you are receiving correction?

Student: Yes. This one concerns the body. When I mention something that seems to indicate that I am in this world functioning in a body someone pops up and lectures me, telling me that I am not a body

Teacher: Do you believe you are a body?

Student: Of course not. ACIM makes that very clear

Teacher: Then why do they accuse you of thinking you are a body?

Student: The problem comes when I mention any experience that involves a body. They somehow twist that into my believing that I am a body. In reality, it is almost impossible to have a conversation about any experience in this world without involving the body.

Teacher: Indeed. ACIM tells us that there is no form or bodies in heaven, but here in dreamland they are almost impossible to ignore. I would just tell them that you are also not your car, which, like your body, is a tool you use to navigate in this dream. To talk of driving your car doesn’t mean you think you are a car.

Student: Sounds good. Another thing they accuse me of is thinking that I am in my body.

Teacher: And why do they say that is not correct?

Student: They say I cannot be in my body because the body does not exist and is just projected by my mind.

Teacher: The problem is that the Course only accords true reality to things that are eternal. Anything that exists in time and space that will someday have an end is regarded as not real or part of the dream. But it does say this:

What you believe is true for you. In this sense the separation has occurred, and to deny it is merely to use denial inappropriately.” T-2.VII.5

So, does the fact that this world is not real mean that it should be denied?

Student: Not according to that quote.

Teacher: Let me put it this way. When you wake up from a dream would it be an honest thing to do to tell me that you had no dream?

Student: No. That would be a lie and go against being honest, as taught in the Course.

Teacher: But the dream wasn’t real.

Student: It didn’t happen in my waking reality, but it still happened and I had an experience.

Teacher: Is it possible to even talk about the dream without relating your experience in it?

Student: Not really.

Teacher: And is it possible to talk about this greater dream without talking about your experience in it?

Student: I do not think so.

Teacher: And when you talk about an experience you had in your dream body at night, does this mean that you believe you were actually in a real body?

Student: No. That would be a silly belief.

Teacher: And when you talk about the body here which is an illusion in a dream, does this mean you think you are in a body?

Student: No more than being in a dream body at night.

Teacher: It would appear then that the needed correction is on your accusers who are trying to correct your views which need no correction.

Student: That’s the way I look at it. Thanks.

Platforms, Past and Future

Platforms, Past and Future

Question: What do you suppose this new platform mentioned by DK will be? What is needed today so that ceremonial magic will appeal to the masses?

Some of your answers drifted toward the differences expected during the Aquarian age in the coming approach and teachings as a whole.

What we were looking for in the answer however, has more to do with the changes in ceremony in the coming age as compared with the past.

To understand what the changes may be we must examine what it is that will be changed. These fall in two categories.

(1) Church sacraments. Among these are the Eucharist, baptism, confession, last rites, laying on of hands, prayer, hymns, and others.

The principles behind these are eternal and will always be used in some form.

One of the main differences that will be used in the new age is the proliferation of those who will administer these ceremonies.

In the Piscean Age you generally had to be an ordained minister or Priest – in other words, a recognized authority to administer rites of any kind. Not so in the coming age. When the principles behind the ceremonies are realized it will be seen that your friend, the janitor next door, has as much authority as a priest to baptize you or hear your confessions of concern. You can meet with a small group of friends and partake of the sacrament of bread and wine, seeking for the injection of the Christ, or soul energy.

New rites and ceremonies will be created with appeal to all philosophies, yet staying true to the principles behind them.

Since Aquarius is an air sign, we can expect to see more ceremonies arising using the breath, accompanied by meditation and visualization.

(2) Masonic and mystery school organizations.

DK tells us that these are out of date because their teachings and ceremonies are patterned after Jewish lore from thousands of years in the past of which the majority of humanity do not respond.

Another reason they are out of date is because of their secrecy. Although there is a time and place for all things, including secrecy, the Masonic type orders of the past had to take great pains to maintain secrecy because of the threat of persecution, imprisonment and death.

They therefore developed secret handshakes, oaths, ceremonies, passwords etc. In addition to this the situation forced an exclusiveness upon them to insure their survival. They were committed to help fellow Masons in any way possible, even to the ignoring of justice and the needs of the innocent non masons.

Because of the forced secrecy strong penalties were attached to those who violated the secrets.

All these things seemed necessary to the teachers of the past, but the forced secrecy also provided much fodder for the Dark Brothers to work. Consequently, the secret organizations of the past never achieved the goal of being a consistent force for good. There were cycles where some good was achieved, but others where evil prevailed.

The new platform will fulfill the prophecy of Jesus wherein he said:

“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” Luke 12:2-3

The new platform will be much more open than has been the case in any time in recorded history. This can only happen because of the power of the First Amendment of free and protected speech. After thousands of years of suppressed speech we finally live in an era where much or the world can speak and teach what they want without fear of reprisals.

Now some are so touchy as to feel they are being persecuted when others merely disagree with them, but arguing and friction are necessary ingredients in freedom and openness. The important thing is to be able to speak your mind without fear of being tortured or hauled off to jail.

The truths of Masonry will be presented in a new and more universal format. Secrecy will be kept to a minimum whereas the principles will be promoted for the benefit of all men and women.

DK says that Christ will be responsible for the new format, but this does not mean he will handle it all in person after he arrives in the physical. It is quite possible that he will direct disciples to do preparatory work in laying foundations before he comes.

A book can be written on this subject and may be, but for now this provides a good seed thought for all of us to contemplate.

Surprise

I’ll have to let you in on a pleasant surprise I had this Saturday evening.

My wife told me that her daughter and her fiancée wanted to take me out to dinner for my birthday and we were to meet them at a local restaurant.

When we walked in Artie pretended that the two hadn’t shown up yet and we were ushered in the back to our seats. As we went into a separate dining room I found that that she had arranged the first surprise party I have ever had in my life. There, sitting before me, were local Keysters, Artie’s daughter and fiancée plus a number of my best friends, including Wayne. I was particularly pleased to see him as he has been fighting for his life the last couple months and just managed to get checked out of the hospital a few hours earlier.

We had a great time. The only thing that could have made it better was if more of you lived close by and could have come.

The greatest gift was just the presence of my friends, but there were two gifts given that we may be able to make use of in various ceremonies at gatherings and other events.

The first was a bell given by Lorraine. It has a beautiful ring to it.

The second was a beautiful sword given by Bryan and Melva. It has the name Excalibur written on it and looks every bit as good as the swords of the knights in the movies.

I think I’ll bring both of these items to the next gathering. We should get pictures of the sword there so we can post them on the web with group pictures. Then everyone can get a good look at it.

All were appreciated and I received more gifts than I deserve. When you think of it, what is heaven except to be surrounded with friends and loved ones who have your best interests at heart?

The Mystery of Electricity

The Mystery of Electricity

Question: Why does DK call electricity the greatest spiritual science and area of divine knowledge in the world? Does this have something to do with the type of energy it generates?

JJ: Good question. I decided to do some research to see what DK says about it. In this post I will give some quotes he said on the  subject and comment later.

DK QUOTES

  1. The mystery of Electricity. The mystery of Brahma. The secret of the third aspect. It is latent in the physical sun.
  2. The mystery of Polarity, or of the universal sex impulse. The secret of the second aspect. It is latent in the Heart of the Sun, or the subjective Sun.
  3. The mystery of Fire itself, or the dynamic central systemic force. The secret of the first aspect. It is latent in the Central Spiritual Sun. Initiation, Human and Solar, Page 168

This secret of electricity, which is essentially triple in its nature, deals with the Brahma or third aspect, and is called sometimes by the following names:

  1. The Secret of Brahma.
  2. The Revelation of the Mother.
  3. The Secret of Fohatic Force.
  4. The Mystery of the Creator.
  5. The Secret of the Three Who issued from the First (solar system),

and also by four mystic phrases conveying much light to the intuition:

  1. The Boat of Mystery which Ploughs the Ocean. 7. The Key to the Divine Storehouse.
  2. The Light that Guides through the triple caves of Darkness. 9. The Clue to the Energy uniting Fire and Water. Initiation, Human and Solar, Page 172

Electrical phenomena are scientifically recognised as dual in nature, but the inherent triplicity of electricity is as yet but a matter for speculation for modern science. The fact that it is triple is demonstrated to the initiate at the first initiation, and the secret of how to balance forces on the physical plane, and thereby produce equilibrium, is revealed to him at the first initiation. This secret likewise puts him in touch with certain of the Builders on the physical plane – that is, on the etheric levels – and he can then produce physical plane phenomena should he deem it wise. This he seldom does, as the results gained thereby are practically unimportant and he wastes not energy in this manner. Initiation, Human and Solar, Page 169

One more point I would like to give, and that is, that in the manipulation of electricity lies hid much that concerns the vivification of the bodies, especially just now of the etheric. The principal use the sun has is the vitalising of the etheric. The heat of the sun is electrical force adapted to the need of the great average majority in all the kingdoms of nature. As progress is made an intensification of this force will be possible in individual cases. Herein lies one of the secrets of initiation. Letters on Occult Meditation, Page 337

The Mysteries contain, within their formulas and teachings, the key to the science which will unlock the mystery of electricity – the greatest spiritual science and area of divine knowledge in the world, the fringes of which have only just been touched. Only when the Hierarchy is present visibly on Earth and the Mysteries of which the disciples of the Christ are the Custodians are given openly to the world, will the true secret and nature of electrical phenomena be revealed. The Reappearance of the Christ, Pg 123

It might here be useful to point out that magnetism is the effect of the divine ray in manifestation in the same sense that electricity is the manifested effect of the primordial ray of active intelligence. It would be well to ponder on this for it holds hid a mystery. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 44

This subject has been somewhat covered by science, and is hidden in the mystery of physical plane electricity, which is an expression of the active internal fires of the system and of the planet just as inner combustion is an expression of the latent internal fires. These latter fires are to be found in the interior of each globe, and are the basis of all objective physical life. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 51

We are now to touch upon the profoundest mystery of the whole manifested solar system – the mystery spoken of by H. P. B. as the mystery of electricity. It is intimately connected with the life of God as demonstrated through His seven Centres, the seven Heavenly Men, the Divine Manasaputras. This problem is not soluble as yet exoterically and but little can be revealed to the general public. This is for three reasons:…Third, the revelation of the close connection between mind and fohat or energy, or between thought power and electrical phenomena – the effect of fohatic impulse on matter – is fraught with peril, and the missing link (if so it might be termed) in the chain of reasoning from phenomena to its initiatory impulse, can only be safely imparted when the bridge between higher and lower mind, is adequately constructed. When the lower is under the control of the higher, or when the quaternary is merging into the triad, then man can be trusted with the remaining four fundamentals. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 259

This is a great mystery and is allied to the mystery of electricity (or of fohatic life) which H. P. B.42 refers to. The Messengers, the Builders, the devas, are flaming fire, radiant electric matter, and only in time and space, only during manifestation and only through the cycles of objectivity, is such an entity as man possible, or can a Heavenly Man come into existence. Outside a solar ring-pass-not, for instance, and as far as our evolution is concerned, we have radiant electric substance, active, intelligent ether, ensouled by the deva evolution. These work blindly and under the laws of cosmic electricity. (We must differentiate with care between cosmic electricity, and the electrical akasha of the system, which is electrical substance confined and brought under another set of laws through the instrumentality of another factor, that of pure Spirit.) Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 404-5

This energy, or electrical manifestation, this “mystery of electricity” to which H. P. B. refers, is the foundation of all manifestations, and lies back of all evolution. It produces light in ever-growing brilliancy; it builds and moulds the form to the need of the indwelling Entity; it brings about coherence and group activity; it is the warmth that causes all growth, and that fosters not only the manifestations of the vegetable and animal kingdoms but induces interaction between the human units, and lies behind all human relationships. It is magnetism, radiation, attraction and repulsion, life, death, and all things; it is conscious purpose and essential will in objective manifestation, and he who has solved what lies back of electrical phenomena has solved not only the secret of his own Being, but knows his place within his greater sphere, a planetary Logos, is conscious of the Identity of that cosmic Existence we call a solar Logos, and realises somewhat the place of our system and its electrical relationship with the seven constellations. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 436

Man’s just apprehension of this mystery of electricity will only come about as he studies himself, and knows himself to be a triple fire, manifesting in many aspects.

Monadic fire Electric fire Spirit Will The Central Spiritual Sun. Egoic fire Solar fire Consciousness The Heart

Love-Wisdom of the Sun.

Personality fire Fire by friction Physical man Physical Sun. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 608

The Mystery of Electricity. The greater Builders are the positive aspect of substance or of electrical phenomena whilst the lesser Builders are the negative aspect.

Two types of force are represented in the activities of these two groups and it is their interaction and interplay which produces Light, or the manifested solar system.

Their sumtotal is substance in its totality, the intelligent active form, built for the purpose of providing a habitation for a central subjective life. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 612

The mystery of this threefold type of electricity is largely connected with the lesser Builders, with the elemental essence in one particular aspect, – its lowest and most profound for men to apprehend as it concerns the secret of that which “substands” or “stands back” of all that is objective. In a secondary sense it concerns the forces in the ethers which are those which energise and produce the activities of all atoms. Another type deals with the electrical phenomenon which finds its expression in the light which man has somewhat harnessed, in the phenomena such as thunder storms and the manifestation of lightning, with the aurora borealis, and in the production of earthquakes and all volcanic action. All these manifestations are based on electrical activity of some kind, and have to do with the “soul of things,” or with the essence of matter. The old Commentary says:

“The garment of God is driven aside by the energy of His movements, and the real Man stands revealed, yet remains hidden, for who knows the secret of a man as it exists in his own self-recognition.”

The mystery of electricity deals with the “garment” of God, just as the mystery of polarity deals with His “form.” Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 873-4

The wise student will also ponder well the words “the mystery of electricity,” which is the mystery surrounding that process which is responsible for the production of light and therefore of vibration itself. Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pg 1236

That there is such a thing as electricity, that it probably accounts for all that can be seen, sensed and known, and that the entire universe is a manifestation of electrical power, – all this may be stated and is, today, coming to be recognised. But when that has been said, the mystery remains, and will not be revealed, even in partial measure, until the middle of the next century. Then revelation may be possible, as there will be more initiates in the world, and inner vision and inner hearing will be more generally recognised and present.

Esoteric Psychology Vol 2, Pg 83

There is nothing but electricity in manifestation, the “mystery of electricity” to which H.P.B. referred in to in The Secret Doctrine. Everything in Nature is electrical in nature; life itself is electricity, but all that we have contacted and used today is that which is only physical and related to and inherent in the physical and etheric matter of all forms. Esoteric Healing, Pg 377

The mystery of electricity is unfolding gradually before our rapt eyes and the electrical nature of man is being slowly proven and will later demonstrate that, throughout the human structure and form, man is composed primarily of light atoms, and that the light in the head (so familiar to esotericists) is no fiction or figment of wishful thinking or of a hallucinated imagination, but is definitely brought about by the junction or fusion of the light inherent in substance itself and the light of the soul. Rays and Initiations, Pg 142-3

The Mysteries will be restored in other ways also, for they contain much besides that which the Masonic rites can reveal or that religious rituals and ceremonies can disclose; they contain within their teaching and formulas the key to the science which will unlock the mystery of electricity – that mystery of which H.P.B. spoke; though much progress has already been made by science along this line, it is as yet only embryonic in nature, and only when the Hierarchy is present visibly on earth, and the Mysteries of which the Masters are the Custodians are given openly to man, will the true secret and nature of electrical phenomena be revealed. Rays and Initiations, Pg 331

That electrical unit or phenomenon of electricity which we call the fourth kingdom in nature, on this fourth subplane of the mental plane esoterically “ejects” the unit of electricity which is ready to be absorbed by the higher form of electricity. Fire by friction dies out and solar fire takes its place, and the relationship between the two higher forms of electricity becomes established… Electrical energy, composed of two forces of electricity: the innate, inert and latent force of the physical plane atoms of the dense physical vehicle, and the force which we call prana which is an aspect of the energy composing the etheric body. Rays and Initiations, Pg 352

Is a Knowledge of Reincarnation Helpful?

Is a Knowledge of Reincarnation Helpful?

The Question: How does a knowledge of reincarnation lead to right human relations and “the solution of all the problems of humanity?”

On the road to answering this question we have other questions:

Does the belief in reincarnation make us lazy about seriously moving ahead spiritually? Does the belief in one life only have a positive effect spiritually?

So what does all this have to do with right human relations?

First, let us look at a most important principle that governs good relationships:

TRUTH.

The giving and receiving of honest, truthful communications is perhaps the most important ingredient of right relationships.

The easiest way to destroy a relationship is to deceive those in the relationship. This can create a distrust that can never be completely recovered.

So, what does deception have to do with reincarnation?

A wrong belief about this and other doctrines involves a self-deception and if the self is deceived then the communication with other selves will be deceptive also.

It is true that the resulting deceptive communication will not be intentional, but it will be deceptive nonetheless, thus obscuring right human relationships.

Let us take a look at one of the greatest relationship problems on the earth today. In some hotspots of the world we have terrorists who are willing to blow themselves up and kill innocent men women and children in the process to please their God.

What kind of relationship do the family victims have toward those who espouse such a philosophy? You are correct. It is generally abject hatred.

Now let us look at the cause of this willingness and eagerness for a devotee to sacrifice his life and kill innocent people.

In almost every case the suicide bomber believes in only one life.

He also believes that it is God’s will he destroy the opposing religion or race.

He also believes in an eternal heaven will be given him as a reward for fulfilling the will of God.

Now let us suppose this person was converted to the truth of reincarnation. How would he then view the situation?

The understanding of the law of rebirth brings in the law of cause and effect and makes it real. When the truth is seen the devotee would think twice about blowing up 50 people in a mixed crowd for he would be the cause of much needless human suffering.

How would he pay for such a crime in a future life? He took away the lives of children with no sensitivity to the feelings of the parents. To learn how the parent feels he may have to be reborn, become a parent and then suffer several of his children to be unmercifully killed by some madman.

The bomber perhaps killed a beloved spouse or two. He may have to pay this off in a future life by losing a loved one or two himself.

Now, the payment for such mistakes is not black and white in kind, but if his bomb kills 50 people he will have accumulated a debt of fifty lives. He will usually either have to suffer 50 unnecessary premature deaths or save fifty lives. Generally what happens is he will suffer enough to learn true empathy and pay the rest off with service of some kind. But the sad thing is that one so wild-eyed to kill himself and others for God will often take many lives and much suffering before he learns to walk in his brothers shoes.

A prime cause of hatred and poor relationships is intolerance for differences. This is especially true with physical differences such as race and differing belief systems. Terrorists often hate other races and beliefs.

Does an understanding of reincarnation alter this view?

Indeed. An understanding of reincarnation brings a realization that we have lived many lives and most of us have lived in many differing races and many belief systems. How can you hate a different race if you realize you may have been a member of that race a lifetime or two back? In addition, a hatred of a race will cause you to be born into that race in the future to force you to learn to love and understand them.

How can you hate a Moslem, a Buddhist, a Hindu, or a Jew if you realize that you have been there and may yet be born into many different religions in the future?

How can you hate gays when you realize that, no matter how straight you are now, that you are cyclically born with an attraction to the same sex and have to learn to wisely channel this energy?

How can you hate a criminal when we realize we have all been criminals in past lives?

How can we hate simple or backward people when we know that we have been simple and backward in our earlier lives?

How can you continue to hate your spouse when you realize that hatred will force you to meet again and learn to dispel the hatred? If he or she is hard to live with it would be wise to dispense with hatred so you do not have to put up with the negative personality many times in future lives.

Why would we want to hurt or injure anyone when we realize this creates a debt that we must pay, usually through the path of pain?

Indeed, the knowledge of the truth about reincarnation and cause and effect leads the disciple to the path of harmlessness. When correct understanding comes he daily, and sometimes hourly, contemplates how he can live his life so as to not harm another living soul.

Thus, we see that a basic doctrine such as reincarnation, which on the surface seems to have little to do with relationships, turns out to have much to do with them.

In the last reading assignment DK wrote:

“These ancient Mysteries were originally given to humanity by the Hierarchy and contain the entire clue to the evolutionary process, hidden in numbers, in ritual, in words and in symbology; these veil the secret of man’s origin and destiny, picturing to him, in rite and ritual, the long, long path which he must tread, back into the light. They provide also (when rightly interpreted and correctly represented) the teaching which humanity needs in order to pass from darkness to Light, from the unreal to the Real and from death to Immortality. Any true Mason who understands, even if only to a slight degree, the significance of the three degrees of the Blue Lodge, and the implications of that in which he participates, will recognise the above three phrases for what they are, and will recognise the significance of the three degrees. I mention it here with Masonic purpose because it is closely related to the restoration of the Mysteries and has held the clue (down the ages) to that long awaited restoration, to the platform upon which the required teaching can be based and the structure which can express (when freed of its Jewish names and nomenclature, which are long out of date, though right three thousand years ago) the history of man’s moving forward upon the Path of Return.” Reappearance of the Christ, Page 122

Here he makes an interesting statement that the nomenclature of the various mystery rites are outdated and need to be replaced by a new “platform” freed of old style religious dialog.

What do you suppose this new platform will be? What is needed today so that ceremonial magic will appeal to the masses?

ACIM Conversations, Part 24

ACIM Conversations, Part 24
The Historical Jesus

Student: I’ve been coming across some unusual beliefs by students about Jesus who is said to be the author of A Course in Miracles.

Teacher: Why am I not surprised? Okay, I can pretty much guess what they are but hit me with something.

Student: The Voice in ACIM pretty solidly identifies himself as the historical Jesus, but many students reject this. I think the statement of greatest error is that” We are all Jesus.”

Teacher: Why do you think they say that?

Student: I suppose it is because the Course teaches that there is one Son, so they assume that what one has done all have done.

Teacher: Yes, the idea of oneness is confusing to many, especially if they see all life as being one with no parts as we discussed earlier.

Student: Oneness indeed makes much more sense and is in harmony with the Course when you see it as many parts that are united as one.

Teacher: Now if a student accepts the strange idea of oneness so all can claim to be Jesus, one would also have to say he is Hitler as well.

Student: Yeah, don’t hear anyone making that claim.

Teacher: There are many statements made by the Voice in the Course that tell us that though we are all one with God, we are individual lives and what Jesus accomplished is different from what students of the Course have accomplished. Read this text:

Student: “I bridge the distance as an elder brother to you on the one hand, and as a Son of God on the other. My devotion to my brothers has placed me in charge of the Sonship, which I render complete because I share it. This may appear to contradict the statement “I and my Father are one,” but there are two parts to the statement in recognition that the Father is greater.” T-1.II.4

Teacher: What does Jesus call himself here?

Student: Our elder brother.

Teacher: Can you be an elder brother to yourself?

Student: That would be as difficult as creating ourselves which the Course tells us we cannot do.

Teacher: Good point. And who does it say is in charge of the Sonship, you or Jesus.

Student: Jesus

Teacher: And where do we come in?

Student: It says that Jesus shares the sonship with us.

Teacher: So, does it make sense that instead of being Jesus, we are one, or united with our elder brother by accepting the shared sonship?

Student: Seems obvious to me.

Teacher: There are many passages which tell us that Jesus is a distinct individual from ourselves. Here’s another one.

Student: “There is nothing about me that you cannot attain. I have nothing that does not come from God. The difference between us now is that I have nothing else. This leaves me in a state which is only potential in you.  T-1.II.3

Teacher: So, what is the difference between Course students and Jesus?

Student: Jesus has nothing but what comes from God. I suppose we rely on the ego instead.

Teacher: And what is the promise to us?

Student: We can attain the same things he did.

Teacher: Here’s another passage to read giving encouragement in that direction:

Student: “I have enjoined you to behave as I behaved, but we must respond to the same Mind to do this. This Mind is the Holy Spirit, Whose Will is for God always. He teaches you how to keep me as the model for your thought, and to behave like me as a result.”  T-5.II.12

Teacher: How then is the student supposed to view Jesus – as himself or something else?

Student: It says we are to see him as a model from which to pattern our behavior.

Teacher: I suppose it may be tempting to be able to claim the works of Jesus without making the effort to attain to his stature, but obviously there are steps that each of us must take to attain as he did.

Student: You would think that would be obvious. There’s another point that some students bring up. Some say that the Jesus in the Course is not the historical Jesus from the New Testament.

Teacher: And why do they say that?

Student: Some come from an atheist or agnostic background and never accepted the story of his life. Others believe the identification is just symbolic.

Teacher: If one doubts the perfection of the Course script then doubting whether or not the Voice is Jesus makes sense. But if one accepts that the Course is a divine revelation without major errors then one would have to accept that the Voice is that of the historical Jesus.

Student: Can that be proven from the Course?

Teacher: The proof is pretty solid for the Voice specifically identified with the Jesus of history numerous times. Here he verifies the garden experience, his crucifixion and relationship with the apostles:

“My brothers slept during the so-called ‘agony in the garden,’ but I could not be angry with them because I knew I could not be abandoned.” T-6.I.7

“The Apostles often misunderstood it (the crucifixion), and for the same reason that anyone misunderstands it. Their own imperfect love made them vulnerable to projection, and out of their own fear they spoke of the “wrath of God” as His retaliatory weapon.” T-6.I.14

“As you read the teachings of the Apostles, remember that I told them myself that there was much they would understand later, because they were not wholly ready to follow me at the time.  I do not want you to allow any fear to enter into the thought system toward which I am guiding you.” T-6.I.16

And here he specifically identified with “Christ Jesus.”

“The Bible says, ‘May the mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus,’ and uses this as a blessing. It is the blessing of miracle-mindedness. It asks that you may think as I thought, joining with me in Christ thinking.” T-5.I.3

Student: That is pretty strong evidence. Didn’t he specifically mention Judas?

Teacher: Yes, here it is:

“Judas was my brother and a Son of God, as much a part of the Sonship as myself. Was it likely that I would condemn him when I was ready to demonstrate that condemnation is impossible?” T-6.I.14-15

Student: That sounds like the entity who is Jesus recalling what happened.

Teacher: Now read this as he is even more specific:

Student: “My body disappeared because I had no illusion about it. The last one had gone. It was laid in the tomb, but there was nothing left to bury. It did not disintegrate because the unreal cannot die. It merely became what it always was. And that is what “rolling the stone away” means. The body disappears, and no longer hides what lies beyond. It merely ceases to interfere with vision. To roll the stone away is to see beyond the tomb, beyond death, and to understand the body’s nothingness. What is understood as nothing must disappear.

“I did assume a human form with human attributes afterwards, to speak to those who were to prove the body’s worthlessness to the world. This has been much misunderstood. I came to tell them that death is illusion, and the mind that made the body can make another since form itself is an illusion. They did not understand. But now I talk to you and give you the same message. The death of an illusion means nothing. It disappears when you awaken and decide to dream no more. And you still do have the power to make this decision as I did.” From “Special Messages”, by Jesus…Additional material through Helen Schuchman. Also quoted in Absence From Felicity by Ken Wapnick

Wow! That is pretty specific

Teacher: But perhaps the coup de grâce is the many quotes the Voice of ACIM uses that are attributed to the historical Jesus of the New Testament. The Voice often indicates that he is quoting himself. I’ve compiled a list. Go ahead and read them off.

Student: “No man cometh unto the Father but by me”

“I and my Father are one,”

“Heaven and earth shall pass away”

“Lead us not into temptation”

“Except ye become as little children”

“the meek shall inherit the earth.”

“Father forgive them for they know not what they do”

“Do this in remembrance of me”

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God”

 “Before Abraham was I am.”

“Many are called but few are chosen” should be, “All are called but few choose to listen.”

“Judge not that ye be not judged,”

“Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven”

“The Kingdom of Heaven is within you”

“Seek and ye shall find”

“turning the other cheek.”

“thine is the Kingdom,”

“I am come as a light into the world,”

“I am with you always,”

When I said, “My peace I give unto you,” I meant it.

“Who is my father?”

That is what I meant when I said, “Blessed are ye who have not seen and still believe,”

“Seek and you will find,”

I said earlier, “By their fruits ye shall know them, and they shall know themselves.”

“Thy Will be done,”

“Let me not wander into temptation.”

“This is my beloved Son

“Of myself I can do nothing” is to gain all power

“praying for one’s enemies.”

Wow. That’s quite a list. Obviously, the Voice identifies with the Jesus of the New Testament.

Teacher: Like I said. If one doubts the perfection of the Course then one may be justified in considering that the Voice may be merely symbolic, but if one accepts it as a real Divine revelation then one should conclude the Voice is the historical Jesus.

The Trinity of Time

The Trinity of Time

Reader comment: Concerning your last post about dealing with time. The future never comes….Only the present is here…..

JJ: You are correct from the view that what is called the present is what we seem to be experiencing, but even here our consciousness does not register the exact present but is always around a second in the past so we never see the exact present, but the past. If we were able to experience the exact present the universe of form would disappear for there would be no motion of even atomic particles.

On the other hand, in this reality the future always comes. Every second we live in a present that was once the future. Thousands of times a day the future comes. The future is always becoming the present, even a child sees this.

Reader: The fact that you claim the future will be here soon. Makes it clear your mind is taking you over in the illusion of psychological time.

JJ: I never said anything about the future being here soon. The future is here now. Every moment in the now was the future a moment ago. The mind can also be projected into future possibilities. Before we were born we looked into the future and planned our life here.

Reader: When has the past or the future being “here”. Never because it is only a trace memory borrowed from the reality of the now. The limitless eternal moment. That is the true nature of time.

JJ: The past and the future is always here in the realm of time and space because they are all linked and are one just as the Trinity is three aspects, but one from another viewpoint.

Reader: Future and past are something you consider in the ‘now’, for the conditions of your life, which is the outer purpose.

JJ: In metaphysical theory, perhaps, but we are living in time and space and are subject to time and space. Take a look in the mirror. Do you have a body? Do you move around? Does it take you time to get from one place to another? Then you had better take the past and future into account or your life will be just as frustrating as everyone else I know who has fallen into the illusion that they have escaped time.

Reader: You should not be attached to material life

JJ: As far as attachment goes, one should not be attached top anything that does not advance movement toward spirit and greater joyousness.

Reader: I think when you teach these principles about physiological time, (past, present, future) you should clarify that it is phycological and a part of something which the mind creates but is not real.

JJ: That which is real is that which we experience. If we experience time and space then the experience is real for us. Even a dream at night creates a real experience. Now some define reality as only that which is eternal and by that definition nothing we can perceive is real. On the other hand, experience is an eternal aspect so any experience has a reality attached to it.

I notice that those who do think they have escaped time and space seem to have little control over their lives and often live a life of frustration and attack.

Time and space are part of the plan to create dominating good and eternal joy. I have taught that God is not perfect as he manifests in this world but he is not so inept as to create time and space for no reason.

Reader: If presence of being in the now, without interference of the minds thoughts, is not acknowledged as important, you are making the illusion stronger and backing up the egoic mind to pursue its goals in ‘time’ which separates you from the source.

JJ If you were completely in the now or present you would disappear and go back to your Source. The fact that you are here and perceive enough to read this tells us you are still under the laws of time and space. One can get a sense of the eternal now while being here, but the fulness will come during the great pralaya.

How can you be separated from Source by that which was created by Source? It is our decisions that separate us whether influenced by emotion, mind or something else.

To blame the mind for our problems is like blaming a car for taking you to the wrong place. The car is a vehicle and is not to blame. The driver is. Even so, the mind is also a vehicle and we are the drivers.

Reader: Take responsibility for you life, yes. which means using psychological time, but it is important to not being attached to it by placing your consciousness in it totally. You must Place your awareness, your being, your presence, consciousness, whatever word you use, In the now.

JJ: I basically agree here. Jesus summed up this principle when he said “Be in the world, but not of the world.” Since we live in the world, we have to be in it with enough of ourselves to function well, but the decisions of the disciple must be influenced by the soul which is not of the world.

Reader: The more you are in the now, the more you connect to your true nature and the more present you become, which frees you from your egoic mind and its illusions.

JJ: First, in this world we are never in the real now in our consciousness for consciousness is created through a registration of increments of time. We are always a second behind the registration of the true present and around a sixty-fourth of a second from seeing it so we always see the past in our perception.

Where there is consciousness there will be a past and a present. To be in the eternal now one must transcend consciousness, as we know it, and tune into the life principle itself.

Those who ignore the lessons of the past and do not seek to be the master of their future will live a life of aimlessness drifting in a sea controlled, not by themselves, but by others.

Do you think a Master is not a Master of his future to a large degree? This is one of the ingredients of being a Master of Wisdom.

Reader: You cannot understand problems of the mind through the mind. You cannot become enlightened through it. You must be outside it. Its knowledge is infinitely limited compared to the understanding of and infinite wisdom of ‘being’

JJ: I have taught many times that the higher must take charge of the lower. There are higher and lower levels of mind and the lower mind has its limits just as a car has its limits. When we want to go real fast we get in a jet plane. The mind is like the car and the Buddhic/Intuitive vehicle is like the jet which takes us forward much faster in our evolution.

But, of course, this is not the ultimate for there are higher vehicles still.

“A sense of time and of its relation to the soul is one of the most absorbing and useful studies of the disciple; an understanding of the relation of the past to the future and their united effect in the present will create one of the levers which will open for you the Door of Initiation.” Discipleship In the New Age Vol 1, Page 207

Advantages of Rebirth

Advantages of Rebirth

DK says: “The doctrine or theory of reincarnation strikes the orthodox Christian with horror.” Reappearance of the Christ, Page 116

Why do you suppose this is the case and what can be done to assuage those fears?

Good comments from the group on this.

There were a number of valid reasons presented. Two strike at the heart of the resistance.

The first stated that the orthodox Christian view is that we have one life and then, if we accept Jesus, we go straight to heaven for all eternity. To accept reincarnation would be to put off eternal bliss and accept that there are numerous tough lifetimes ahead for us.

What would it take to open this person’s mind?

He needs to realize that eternity in the standard heaven would be much worse than the challenge of future lifetimes. Then too, after we pass through our cycles of lifetimes, we achieve a fullness of joy and attain to “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

The second reason someone presented was that many view life as an extreme hardship and a dreary experience and feel they have had all they want of mortality with its challenges. These people do not want another life. Instead, they want to believe that they will spend the rest of eternity with God in painless peace.

The path of enlightenment for this person lies in the realization that that the present is all there is and if one cannot be happy and content in the here and now then he doesn’t have much chance of having any fullness of joy in the great beyond. You are the same entity after you pass on as you were before you died.

When the seeker realizes that true happiness consists not of death, but life in the here and now and making the best of where we are then this obstacle is passed.

There are a number of lesser roadblocks to seeing the truth of reincarnation. Another is the fact that we lose our memories between lives and will be born with a new identity and not recognize family and friends.

“I want to always be me,” is one statement I have heard.

If you always want to be you then you will not want to be transformed to some perfect person in heaven who is not you, but would much rather continue to be you with a new name and face.

When you have a new name and body in a new life you are still you, just as you are still you at age forty as you were at age twenty. During this time period you have shed your old body and replaced it with new elements. You also look different, sound different and think different. But you are still you.

Reincarnation guarantees the continuation of identity much more than the orthodox religious view that makes saved sinners into instant saints at death.

Another reader gave four additional reasons for resistance:

(1) A warped view of what the word reincarnation means.

(2) The atonement of Christ.

(3) Scripture

(4) The doctrine has not come from a recognized authority.

In addition, others emphasized people’s attachment to their belief systems and the reluctance to let them go.

Overall, there are many reasons people resist this teaching, but there are many more reasons to accept it. Perhaps the strongest appeal to me in first considering it was the fairness of the doctrine.

DK says: “If the goal of right human relations will be taught universally by the Christ, the emphasis of His teaching must be laid upon the Law of Rebirth. This is inevitably so, because in the recognition of this law will be found the solution of all the problems of humanity, and the answer to much of human questioning.” Reappearance of the Christ, Page 116

Question: How does a knowledge of reincarnation lead to right human relations and “the solution of all the problems of humanity?”

It is interesting that reincarnation is often associated with metaphysics, New Age Teachings, the paranormal etc. Thus, DK associating it with right human relations, a key to solving humanities problems may seem strange and out of place.

It even seems to be a huge error to many as some blame the belief in reincarnation on a number of evils and problems that plague mankind. Perhaps the main one is this belief: “If I have more lifetimes I have more chances to get things right so I can relax in this life and make mistakes and pay for them later.”

Many Christians are reluctant to consider reincarnation because of this belief in its effect. They think it is much more effective to believe we only have one chance to get it right or we will suffer for all eternity. This puts the pressure on us to work like crazy in this life and not fritter away our opportunities.

Question: What do you think? Does the belief in reincarnation make us lazy about seriously moving ahead spiritually?

Does the belief in one life only have a positive effect spiritually?

Here are two interesting comments made:

Comment One: “Thinking one has only one an life all or nothing shot often leads to guilt and depression over thinking one will not make it. Guilt always stifles progress.”

Comment Two: “Personally there are days where I feel the full force of, it seems, thousands of lives. I feel positively ancient, and as though it has taken me aeons just to reach this rather primitive stage of spiritual development. I do feel an urgency to ‘get on with it’. I am grateful however, that we have limitless opportunities to get it right. I am sure I have needed every one of them!”

JJ: Interesting comments, as well as others I do not have time to include.

When I look at how much I have learned from this current lifetime it is evident that you are correct. I’m sure we needed each of our lifetimes to get to where we are today, no matter how humble our situation.

Notice that the teachers of the human race have emphasized different doctrines in differing ages and climates. Also notice that in certain circumstances reincarnation is openly taught and then other times it is not but the total emphasis seems to be on the here and now, as if this life is all important.

Sometimes this emphasis has occurred because of the need of the students, but other times it was because the public mind-set was too biased against reincarnation and the teachers had to work with what the students were willing to accept.

Does the teaching of reincarnation cause some to procrastinate their spiritual progress? The truth is that for many beginners on the path who view all things in black and white it does create some problems. Some of these people will seek for any excuse to delay the hard work and will indeed think that because there are many lifetimes they will eat drink and be merry in this one and correct any current problems in the next one.

But even these people can be set straight if they have wise teachers to set the true path before their eyes. But if the majority of the students tend to fall into this error the teachers will often avoid mention of multiple lives and teach about dealing with the here and now. In addition, these teachers will sometimes form an inner group and teach the higher principles.

In other circumstances the teachers will openly teach reincarnation. Such circumstances are:

(1) Reincarnation is already the prevailing doctrine, such as in Hinduism and Buddhism. If the teaching seems to cause procrastination among the spiritual infants then they will attempt to teach the correct principles behind it to rectify the situation. (2) The students are more advanced than average and are open to higher teachings.

(3) If a cycle is reached where this and other teachings need to be planted for future fruition.

So, what effect does the teaching have on the prepared student? It has the opposite effect on him as on the black and white student. Instead of procrastination the spiritual student sees cause and effect as real and imminent.

Have you ever noticed that spiritual infants who believe in an eternal hell will often risk going there for a simple pleasure or two?

It is difficult to imagine how unreasonable such risk would be if their belief were centered in reality. Compare the pleasure of an affair, for instance, to burning in fire and being stabbed with pitchforks for eternity. The fact that this deters so few who are tempted tells us that the person internally does not really believe in such punishment or he is ignoring all logic associated with his negative beliefs.

The interesting thing is that for the spiritual advanced student the possible loss of a day’s time is more of a deterrent to him than are the eternal fires of hell for the neophyte. Why is this?

Because the spiritual student looks at true cause and effect and sees future effect as if it were in the present. He thus works to solve future problems with as much energy as current problems. The beginning student only lives in the past and present. He is incapable of seeing the future as part of the eternal now. In his consciousness it is as if the future will never come. This person will be more concerned about losing $5 today then the possible loss of everything he owns several years from now. He will be more concerned about his $10 increase in social security check now than the possible bankruptcy of the entire system 20 years hence. He will be more concerned about a little pleasure now than of a lot of pain down the road.

The exception to this would be if the person were programmed to plan for the future, as in a standard retirement package, but in this the neophyte would be unable to plan outside the box.

The advanced student sees the future as a true part of his reality and the beginner, though he realizes the future exists, does his best to ignore it and concentrate on the now.

Many New Agers tend to fall into this trap and attempt to only live for the present day emphasizing the cliche that the present is all there is.

While this is a true statement it is a great illusion to assume we can ignore the past and the future and live with no influence from either.

These facts must be realized.

(1) The present quality of life is an accumulation of a whole eternity past. Everything from our past has a ripple effect on our present.

(2) Any point of time in the future will eventually be the present here and how. It is our responsibility in the now to condition and prepare that future point so when it becomes the present it will add to our joy and quality of living.

I have met people who preach about living in the present, whose present is a living hell as far as I am concerned. The wise will see the past, present and future linked as one in the dimension of time and take them all into consideration as they work on the great task of capturing their part of the great Law of Dominating Good.

Now – how does the principle fit into the idea of right human relations. We’ll cover that soon.

Teachers, Teachings and the Reappearance

Teachers, Teachings and the Reappearance

We will continue with the Reappearance of the Christ. Students are advised to read chapter five. Here is a link for the text:

This first installment gives us a number of great teachers who prepared the world for the Christ.

They are: Hercules, Hermes, Vyasa, Sankaracharya, Shri Krishna and Buddha

What he did not say was who the great teachers have been during the past two thousand years who have helped prepare the world for the reappearance.

Who do you think have been the significant ones in this category and why?

There is a lot of meat in chapter five. Let us start the ball rolling with this quote:

“Acquiescence has in it the element of an understanding intelligence, and this marks a great step forward. Both admit the fact of a divine over-shadowing will in the life of mankind today; both are preparatory to a recognition of Christ’s work in bringing about right human relations. At present, the submission of mankind to the divine will is a negative submission; the true submission is a positive attitude of spiritual expectancy, leading eventually to a positive acquiescence.” Page 114

Question: Many have a black and white view that all submission to God as being wrong and diminishes individuality, but here DK tells us there is a positive and negative submission or acquiescence.

What is the difference?

Let us catch up catch up on a few of the questions. First: Why is purpose the absolute source of power?”

Reader Answer: Purpose is the absolute source of power because it comes from the Will of God…. Without Purpose there is no Need or Desire to Become.

JJ: Good point. Let me put it this way.

Purpose is the originating point of power as it manifests in creation. Purpose is not the Plan, but the originating source and motivation behind the Plan.

When Purpose is perceived then power comes to the perceiver because Purpose creates power so it can prevail in all worlds.

When the disciple perceives purpose, he then obtains a knowledge of what will be and if he decides to assist then power will come to him to manifest Purpose.

The time frame is not always known for Purpose exists outside of time and space. But when Purpose is clearly perceived power can manifest to compress time and hasten its manifestation.

As to significant teachers after Christ – we received some interesting comment. One reader replied that there was no one that came close to equaling him in his works. On the other hand, there have indeed been significant teachers. A reader also added some Greek philosophers to the list of those who preceded the Christ.

What was there about Greece that provided fertile ground for enlightened teachers to arise?

It was the freedom of expression that was allotted. Philosophers could teach without fear of persecution from their government during several periods of the history of Greece.

On the other hand, if we look at the history of civilization from Christ until the modern age we find that most of the time, during this Piscean era, teachers were often persecuted, jailed or killed for speaking their minds. Therefore, it is quite possible that an Aristotle, or Pericles would have been suppressed if they had been reborn during the past 2000 years.

In other words, it is quite possible that the great men of women of the history of the past 2000 years could have been greater if they had the freedom of the early Greek teachers.

So, who do I think were the great teachers or initiates since the days of Jesus?

There are many to choose from, even though none are acknowledged by the public to be of Messiah caliber.

I think I need to divide my answer into two categories which I call Before Free Speech (BFS) and After Free Speech – relatively speaking. (AFS)

AFS
H. P. Blavatsky
Alice A. Bailey/Djwhal Khul collaboration
Joseph Smith
Helen Schucman of A Course in Miracles
Mary Baker Eddy
Helena Roerich
Nicola Tesla
Einstein

BFS
Apostle Paul
Martin Luther
William Shakespeare
Marcus Aurelius
Merlin
Leonardo da Vinci
Giordano Bruno
Copernicus
Galileo

Of course, there are many more who could be named in both categories

The Question: Many have a black and white view that all submission to God is wrong and diminishes individuality, but here DK tells us there is a positive and negative submission or acquiescence.

Many people look at the extremes of submission and decide to live their life as a law unto themselves submitting to no one and no thing.

The terrorists are a prime example of how to not submit. They submit to what they believe is divine will and end up killing, maiming, bombing and beheading all in the name of submission.

There is, of course, wrong submission in all religions including the Christian. The question is what makes the difference between positive or negative submission?

A reader had the right idea when she stated that wrong submission is giving our will over to the beast. What does this mean?

It means that instead of submitting to God we are merely submitting to an outward authority who claims to speak for God. Therefore, this type or submission to God is an illusion that has nothing to do with God.

True submission to God comes when the disciple receives enough soul contact so he can receive accurate inner communications. True submission to God then begins when the seeker obeys the inner voice.

But wrong submission can again occur if that voice is generated from personal desire and not the soul.

Then again correct submission may have nothing to do with God. One may find a teacher who has proven himself adept in a certain field and submit to his tutoring because he is a proven authority.

For instance, it would be correct to submit oneself to a proven martial arts instructor to learn the art, but foolish to submit to one who has no expertise.

DK says: “The doctrine or theory of reincarnation strikes the orthodox Christian with horror.”

Why do you suppose this is the case and what can be done to assuage those fears?

Finding Purpose

Finding Purpose

A reader gave this quote from DK

“Register the idea, received by the soul intuitively, and recognize the form which it should take. These last seven words are of vital importance.” A Treatise on White Magic, Pg 45

Thinking on this made me  reflect on recent computer developments. (Written Jan 2005) I was just checking out the new mini Mac at apple.com. It measures 6.5inches x 6.5 inches x 2 inches, the smallest complete computer made. As I was looking at it on the screen the future flashed before my eyes. I saw that as miniaturization progressed a few more steps that computers as we know them will disappear and be replaced by a multifunction hand held device. It may be called something like a multifunction computer, or MC for short. (written in 2005. The iPhone was introduced two years later)

This MC may appear in the next few steps of progression in the evolution of the portable phone and about the same size. This device will not only be a phone, a camera, a voice recorder, a miniature TV, a radio and an internet connection, but also your full-sized personal computer.

At your desk will be a monitor and keyboard, but no computer. This will be normally carried around on your person. Often you can use voice commands to activate the functions you need, but when you desire to use a keyboard and screen you will sit at your desk, punch a button on your MC and your screen and keyboard will be ready to use in connection with your portable computer or MC.

Eventually the keyboard and screen will be replaced by something that looks like a large sheet of paper on which a screen and keyboard may appear when activated. When one is done using it he can fold it up and put it in his shirt pocket.

This may be called something like Computer Paper (CP).

This sort of fits in with the question of the day which is: What is the principle behind faith? In other words, why is it that faith can produce the miraculous?

It is pretty obvious that the reception of ideas and the bringing of them into manifestation is closely aligned with faith.

The true aspect of the Purpose of God lies beyond that which is revealed in the English word. I have written a few things on this in the past. Below are several quotes from the archives.

Purpose is the unifying energy of God and Purpose is only expressed in actions that lead toward union with God or union with each other, which leads toward God. Purpose is like an eternal stairway where each action is a step which leads to another and still another without end, until Union is achieved. If you see an action ending with only one, two or three steps, then you know that action fills a finite objective and not the true energy of Purpose.

The normal way of looking at Purpose is to see it as “a fixed design or idea” as an objective to be achieved. This is an excellent definition, but it applies to the lower octave. In other words, an objective is a goal to be achieved. But when the goal is achieved the objective no longer exists. Because an objective has a beginning and end it then cannot be the highest aspect of Purpose for the divine aspects in their purity have no beginning and no end and are eternal.

There is no word in the dictionary that exactly represents the Divine aspect of Purpose so we can’t rely on dictionary definitions were except as a hint.

Purpose is that which causes vibration so that within that vibration lies all energy, form, plans and goals.”

Anni is right on target when she says: “Many objectives are contained within the one Purpose. Just as a principle reveals many facts, Purpose reveals many objectives.”

We are talking about a concept that is not defined in any dictionary here so we have to talk around it and intuitively pick up the reality. He who can truly understand Purpose will have “all power in heaven and earth” as Jesus said was given to him.

Purpose is not an objective, goal or plan, but is that from which they all originate. It is not an energy but is that from which energy originates.

Let us say there is only one Plan and the idea that there are many plans is merely illusion for the idea of many plans in the mind of God is illusion. Because there is one Plan from One Purpose both the Plan and the Purpose is eternal for only oneness can be eternal.

The One Purpose manifesting the One Plan seems to differentiate into many goals and objectives. Our mission is to find the next objective in alignment with purpose and become one with it through our attention. When the power of Attention is one with the Purpose of God all things are possible and the magical power of the soul is manifest. End of quotes.

So how does faith relate to purpose?

Purpose is the very principle behind faith.

How is that?

Purpose is the all-powerful aspect of God. Its only limitation is time and space, but time and space can only hold it back from the lower worlds for a time and then purpose must be fulfilled. Purpose is always fulfilled in the end.

When the disciple becomes one with the mind of God and discerns Purpose then true faith can manifest. Purpose does not have to be believed to manifest faith, but accepted. When Purpose is both seen and accepted then nothing can prevent it from materializing on the physical plane.

Purpose manifesting on the physical plane is much different than the materialization of a goal. When you buy a new car, your ownership is temporary. But when the idea of a car was manifest, it was here to stay. One can attempt to destroy all the cars in the world and they will continue to manifest.

What does Purpose have to do with the faith that produced the miracles of Jesus?

Jesus contacted the Purpose aspect and saw the perfection that was the destiny of us all. He saw beyond time and space to bring forth at perfection as if it exists in the Now. When he did this and the one afflicted followed the energy with his attention he was healed.

Question to contemplate:

Why is purpose the absolute source of power?

Bush, The Serial Conspirator

Bush, The Serial Conspirator

(Note: Before there was Trump as a target of the media there was George W, Bush who seemed to be blamed for everything that went wrong.  This article is an attempt to make fun of all the conspiracies in circulation about him. The funny thing is right after the Tsunami in Indonesia I predicted that someone would come up with a conspiracy theory that Bush created it by planting a nuclear bomb in the ocean, and, sure enough, a few days later such a theory surfaced. Meanwhile, enjoy the lighter side here)

A reader asked me what I thought of the latest conspiracy charges against Bush.

The real truth behind the conspiracy and Bush goes much deeper than anyone imagined, except for a chosen few.

Contrary to the thinking of many, Bush is not a stupid bungler. That is a façade he puts forward through the right-wing press to trick the masses. In reality he is an evil genius who would put Hitler to shame.

He not only can speak perfect English, but really knows how to say the word “nuclear.” By dumbing himself down he creates the illusion that he couldn’t possibly be smart enough to mastermind a complex conspiracy.

Through secret files and contacts I have put together the real story, revealed here for the first time.

Bush’s first power grab began November 1963 at age 17 when he was on a visit to Dallas with his parents. As the family was having a nice picnic in a park young Bush stumbled across an unusual man named Lee Oswald. They both struck up a conversation about guns and Bush was fascinated at Oswald’s claims of his shooting abilities. To this Bush replied, “Kennedy is coming here tomorrow. I’ll bet you couldn’t even hit a big target like him.”

“OH Yah,” said Oswald. “What do you want to bet?”

“A hundred bucks,” said young Bush.

“Deal!” said Oswald.

The next day Oswald shot Kennedy and was captured shortly thereafter. Oswald secretly got word to Bush through a courier named Jack Ruby that he wanted the $100 to help with his defense or he was going to finger Bush as a co-conspirator.

Bush did not have the hundred, but did have fifty dollars. He offered the $50 to Ruby if he would kill Oswald. Since Ruby did not like the idea that Oswald killed Kennedy he accepted and took care of him.

This was the first display of the evil genius of Bush. He garnered two major assassinations for only $50, a feat not duplicated by anyone else in history.

A couple years later Robert Kennedy found out about Bush’s part in the assassination and so Bush hypnotized Sirhan Sirhan to eliminate him as a problem.

Then during his college years Bush through his contacts at Skull and Bones played both sides of the coin. On one hand, he was that unidentified national guardsman who fired the shot at Kent State, and, on the other, he raised money to pay off communist plants among the students at Berkely to raise hell there and in other colleges.

Later, it was Bush who was the true Deep Throat who exposed Watergate to Woodward and Bernstein. The reason he knew all the facts was that he was the mastermind behind the whole burglary to take down the Democrats. Again, we see the genius of Bush. He was the only player who escaped unscathed and undetected.

It was Bush who tampered with the helicopter engines that caused them to go down during Carter’s rescue attempt during the Iran hostage crisis. This made Carter look like a bungler and paved the way for the election of Reagan.

Bush wanted Reagan to invade Canada and make it the 51st state. When he refused, he hired John Hinkley to send him a message. The assassination attempt did not force Reagan to invade Canada, but he did invade Granada. This seemed to pacify Bush.

I could go on and on about the genius of this mastermind conspirator who has been behind conspiracy after conspiracy with impunity.

The most famous of them all was 911. Again, he was the mastermind who arranged for the planes to fly into the buildings and the cover-up. Since conspiracy buffs know about this I will not go into details. Instead, I will tell you about Bush’s latest exploit of which Michael Moore is not even aware.

Too much attention has been placed on the problems in Iraq lately and Bush needed a diversion. He thought he would kill a few Islamic terrorists in Indonesia at the same time as creating diversion so he dropped a 100 megaton atomic bomb in the Indian Ocean on a fault line. This created largest earthquake in recent memory causing the giant Tsunami which killed over 150,000 Moslems and left millions homeless. This sent an underground message to the terrorists to not mess with Texas.

It would take a book to detail the genius of this serial conspirator. Think of almost any problem we have and Bush is behind it. AIDS – yep, Bush masterminded that one. The real killer of Nicole Simpson? OJ keeps looking but he’ll never know it was Bush.

Have you been hearing a high pitched sound that is barely audible? Take a moment of silence and listen. You hear it, don’t you? This is a brain wave signal sent out by the inner government under Bush to control your mind so you will accept Bush as the ruler of the new world order to come.

And that itch you have that keeps returning…? Bush again. You don’t want to know what that is about.
