The Mysterious Death of John Paul I

The Mysterious Death of John Paul I

Since the group is showing such great interest in the death of Pope John Paul II (on April 2, 2005) I thought I would post several comments about the mysterious death of the previous Pope.

You may remember it stated in “The Immortal” that all the plans of the Masters are not executed flawlessly, that they have their problems in their sphere of activity as we have in ours.

You might also recall my past teaching to you about the fact that many disciples who have been sent and were in place to do important missions have been distracted or frustrated by one means or another. Then there are some who have identified too strongly with the ego and have been basically rendered neutral to the work of light.

Another thing that was not considered strongly enough by the Brotherhood was the tremendous power of thought from the Dark Brothers put into the resistance of the changes to come. This great power of thought places currents in operation which generates a backward pull on all disciples and masters which may be in incarnation. Figuratively this makes it seem to the workers of light that they are walking in thick honey when they attempt to move forward. Then when the disciple gives up on his mission and yields to the line of least resistance things seem to go so smoothly that it may seem to him that this is the path God wants him to walk.

Only the disciples who have made irrevocable decisions toward the light can be of service at this crucial point of tension between the two ages.

Earlier I made mention of this prediction by Djwahl Khul: “The Master Jesus will take a physical vehicle, and with certain of His chelas effect a re-spiritualisation of the Catholic churches, breaking down the barrier separating the Episcopal and Greek churches from the Roman.  This may be looked for, should plans progress as hoped, about the year 1980.” TCF, Page 759 (Written in the 1920s)

He came again in the person of Pope John Paul I, which I believe was not a direct incarnation but an overshadowing.

Unfortunately, the great sacrifice He made to attain this position was temporarily neutralized because He was assassinated Sept 28, 1978 by poisoning after only 33 days in office.

The fact that He was in office 33 days which corresponds to the 33 years in the life of Jesus of Nazareth is far from the only correspondence.

His given name was Albino Luciani which means “white light.” It is interesting that while I was contemplating the symbol of L U X (light) of Lucis (light) Trust that the person of Luciani (light) came to my mind.

After John Paul I was killed he was replaced by Karol Joseph Wojtyla who became John Paul II. Ironically this replacement pope was born during a solar eclipse.

This is symbolic of his reign during an eclipse of a true son of God through the death of Luciani.

Albino Luciani means “white light” but the new Pope’s name of Karol Joseph Wojtyla means “man who adds increase to war.”

How did John Paul II add power to war, since he is seen by many as a man of peace?

It was not a physical war that he added fuel to the fire, but a great spiritual war. Representatives of the Dark Brothers made war against Albino Luciani and others who stood by his side and the new Pope, Karol Joseph Wojtyla, gave power to the workers of darkness to halt the progress toward the light in its tracks and return to business as usual in the church.

Glenys (resourceful girl she is) found one of the best quotes on the internet about him. I will quote it below:

Glenys’ comments:

If the answer is in line with the thoughts on the papacy already expressed, then given my thoughts about John Paul II, the man we’re searching for can only be John Paul I.

If one reads the conspiracy theories about the death of John Paul one gets an idea that he was determined to make radical chances.

Here is a quote from:

http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/io.htm

(Page no longer available)

“Once elected, however, the new Pope began to display the brilliant mind and charisma that had been concealed behind his former reticent reserve. Not awed in the least by his exalted station, John Paul I immediately threw himself into an all-out effort to revolutionize the Papacy, to return it to its spiritual origins. At his coronation, he refused to be carried on the papal sedan and to wear the jewel-encrusted tiara. He refused to follow the scripts prepared for him by the Curia at his audiences and press conferences. Totally exasperated by the new Pontiff’s unexpected independence, the Curia actually began to censor the Pope’s remarks from the Vatican’s daily newspaper, particularly when he began to express his positive views on contraception.

While Albino Luciani proved to be an irritant to the Curia in many ways, he made himself its absolute nemesis when he delved into the Vatican Bank’s dealings, which dated back to the reign of his predecessor.”

“With his bright intelligence and naive fearlessness, John Paul I penetrated to the heart of this maze of corruption within weeks of his coronation. On the evening of September 28, 1978, he called Cardinal Villot, the leader of the powerful Curia, to his private study to discuss certain changes that the Pope proposed to make public the next day. [It has been reported that John Paul was also considering the release of the famous “Third Secret of Fatima,” which was supposed to have been given to the public in 1960.] Among those whose “resignations” would be accepted by the Pontiff the following day were the head of the Vatican Bank, and several members of the Curia who were implicated in the activities of Sindona and P2, and Villot himself. Moreover, Villot was told that John Paul I would also announce plans for a meeting on October 24 with an American delegation to discuss a reconsideration of the Church’s position on birth control.

When Pope John Paul I retired to his bedroom on the evening of September 28, clutching the paperwork that would expose the Vatican’s financial dealings with the Mafia and purge the Curia of those responsible, a number of very ruthless individuals had a great interest in seeing to it that he would never awaken to issue these directives.

When the Pope’s housekeeper knocked at his door at 4:30 a.m., she heard no response. Leaving a cup of coffee, she returned fifteen minutes later to find the Pope still not stirring. She entered the bed chamber and gasped when she saw the Pope propped up in bed, still holding papers from the night before, his face contorted in a grimace. On the night table beside him lay an opened bottle of Effortil, a medication for his low blood pressure. The housekeeper immediately notified Cardinal Villot, whose first response to the news was to summon the papal morticians even before verifying the death himself or calling the Vatican physician to examine the body. Villot arrived in the Pope’s room at 5:00 a.m. and gathered the crucial papers, the Effortil bottle, and several personal items which were soiled with vomit. None of these articles were ever seen again.

Although the Vatican claimed that its house physician had determined myocardial infarction as the cause of death, to this day no death certificate for Pope John Paul I has been made public. Although Italian law requires a waiting period of at least 24 hours before a body may be embalmed, Cardinal Villot had the body of Albino Luciani prepared for within 12 hours of his death. Although the Vatican refused to allow an autopsy on the basis of an alleged prohibition against it in canon law, the Italian press verified that an autopsy had in fact been performed on one of the Pope’s predecessors, Pius VIII. Although the conventional procedure for embalming a body requires that the blood first be drained and certain internal organs removed, neither blood nor tissue was removed from the corpse; hence, none was available to assay for the presence of poison.”

Glenys’ comments continued:

John Paul I was reputedly to be a deeply spiritual man and although I know of no plans to break down religious barriers, it follows that it would have been on the agenda given his other activities during his very short reign.

JJ: Actually, according to sources I read he did have plans to break down religious barriers and take steps to unite with the Greek Orthodox Church.

He died in Sept 1978 so it is too bad he did not live to 1980, the year of prediction by DK, for his reforms would have certainly have had a great impact by this time and perhaps the coming of Christ would be nearer to us than it now is.

This is only a temporary failure and it is quite possible another attempt may be made by the Master Jesus in another generation.

We will recognize him when he comes for one of his first acts as Pope could be to exhume the body of Albino Luciani and have it tested for poisoning, thus exposing the works of darkness during his past incarnation.

Experience

Experience

A reader disagrees with me and thinks there is nothing new under the sun that creation is all done. People are afraid of losing something by admitting this.

JJ: We don’t lose anything because creation is not all done. Why would you think it is finished?

It may be true that in the highest realm that all possibilities exist, but that would only be as potential. The point is that we are in this reality and to avoid our part in creation because of a belief that all creation is already accomplished is counterproductive.

If everything is already done we are useless and might as well shoot ourselves and go back to the great void and blend with the No Thing and cease to exist.

A reader responds: The question is what part of the matrix was reality and what part was illusion? The so-called real world or the computer-generated world? 😉

JJ: Here’s a thought or perhaps a hint? Perhaps reality is that which we experience.

To this a reader responds:

Hope not. If that is all reality is, then our existence is exceedingly pathetic…. hopeless.

To this I responded as follows:

If reality is not what we experience then what is it?

Are you saying we will never experience reality?

If we do not experience reality then reality must be something we don’t experience.

If we do not experience it, what good is it?

Without experience we do not exist.

A reader then responds:

I think you can have all the experiences you want but if you don’t remember them then I would say that you don’t exist

Reality can be deceiving

JJ: Even if you lose your memory, you still experience in the present which always exists. But if you are experiencing nothing you are nothing. If you are nothing, what kind of reality are you in? Not a desirable one.

Reader: Yes, but isn’t eternity where the past meets the future?

JJ: We are in eternity now. The past meets the future now. Fortunately, we are experiencing now. Always now.

Reader: Eternity is the present and that is why it always exists.

JJ: And in the present we always have experience.

Reader: Without memory you have no soul and it will be your past/memories that will be judged.

JJ: The past is never lost and is always available for retrieval and enrichment of the present.

The future always exists also, even if one has a consciousness in the Eternal Now. One can only drop the past and the future temporarily. It exists even if our attention is not on it.

Reader: They say the past is the predictor of the future, then why is it that those who write the past (history) are always the victors, and they are writing with a bias slant so it really isn’t the truth?

JJ: The true past is written within the eternal part of ourselves and is seen without distortion when in our life review after death. Writing a distorted version of the past does not change the past.

JJ Quote: The future always exists also, even if one has a consciousness in the Eternal Now. One can only drop the past and the future temporarily by returning to the Eternal Now. But time exists in the worlds of form even if our attention is not on them.

Reader: How can a future exist when eternity (the now) is all we know and the past is lost to distorted memories?

JJ: The past is never lost, at least in this eternal round. There is a permanent atom of the physical, emotional and mental bodies where all is recorded for the individual. For the planet itself all is accurately recorded in the akashic records.

Just as we go in and out of physical incarnation, we go in and out of incarnation into time. When we are out of incarnation in time, time does not cease to exist. Instead, we are just not in time. But we always go back into time where the future and the past are always there to enhance experience.

Reader: One other thing JJ: Are dreams considered experiences or realities?

JJ: They are both. You are in the reality of the dream state having an experience.

Reader: If so then I can alter my eternal consciousness and or create my own destiny that I will be judged on. I really have some good ones.

JJ: When you are dreaming you are experiencing part of your eternal consciousness. In normal consciousness you have two links that produce self-awareness. One comes from the heart and the other the mind. When you sleep the one that is linked to the mind is loosed and the decision-making part of yourself goes to higher realms. The heart link stays behind and it is not accountable and not subject to mental judgement.

All you remember when you wake up are the experiences of the heart link. This is the reason dreams make little sense, because the heart is experiencing without the mind and when the mind comes back it has no memory (except for the heart-dream experiences) because our conscious memories are dependent on the body – until one learns to transcend the body.

Reader: This (akashic records) is a theosophical term which I do not totally agree with.

JJ: Then how about the Biblical term which is “the book of life?”

Reader: I like to think that we in the physical realm, life (us) are organized by light and disorganized by fire. The (Nouns) words “fire” and “light” were originally verbs. Our goal and aim is to achieve enlightenment and that is where your personal wave meets with the eternal, or the union of all waves.

JJ: If you think of light as building energies and fire as destructive then you are speaking of a correct principle. However, the building of form only has the purpose of providing for ourselves vehicles to supply different types of experiences.

There are many degrees of enlightenment, but a big step occurs when we realize that the highest part of ourselves is one with the big wave. At that point the pilgrim declares:

“My Father and I are one.”

“Trust one who has gone through it.” Virgil (70 BC – 19 BC)

The Glory of God and Christ

The Glory of God and Christ

Continuing with the unveiling of the Revelation of John.

“And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.” Rev 5:11

The number of angels were 10,000 X 10,000 plus a few extra million which equals over 100 million. In the mind of someone who lived in that time period this number probably seemed larger than all the people who ever lived.

That’s quite a number especially for 2000 years ago when they did not think in the large numbers that we do today.

Now, how do we interpret this as it applies to the inner Christ manifesting in the individual?

When one becomes one with the God within and realizes the fullness of the Christ consciousness by opening the seven seals he establishes a great foothold within the consciousness of humanity and his impact or the impact of his group becomes great. It is so great that over 100 million people will see that God has manifested in him and these will bow before the throne of God in thankfulness and acknowledge Christ or God has done a great work through him.

Now, he may not receive recognition from the 100 million or more in his lifetime, but over a period of time this will happen.

This certainly happened with Jesus, the greatest example of the Christ principle, for he has received recognition from billions rather than millions. Other Christed ones may not receive recognition from so great of numbers, but it will generally be over 100 million if one considers the group of which he is a part..

Now many of us unlock part of the book and manifest part of the Christ consciousness, but the fullness does not come until we approach the end of the wheel of rebirth. The average seeker does not have a fullness yet but he senses the Christ consciousness and if he continues in his quest the opening of the seven seals will definitely come for him.

“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Rev 5:12

He who pursues the fullness of Christ will sacrifice all the desires of the lower self to accomplish a great work in the service of humanity. For doing so he will receive the following:

(1) Power. This may not be power as is recognized by the world, but a spiritual power will manifest through him as well as power to accomplish a great service to the world.

In addition, the many seekers who have not yet received a fullness will receive a taste of the spiritual power and the desire to serve that will lead to a fullness.

(2) Riches. The outer riches he will receive will depend on the situation in which he finds himself, but the inner riches will bring greater wealth and satisfaction than possessed by the greatest monarch. He will receive peace and inner joy, which he would not trade for all the money in the world.

(3) Wisdom. We could say that this is one of the riches of the Christ consciousness which has broken the seals. Such a seeker has learned much through trial and error and correcting his mistakes over hundreds of lifetimes. He is one with the mind of God and shares in the wisdom of God.

(4) Strength. When one achieves power, riches and wisdom he then has a natural strength that will be apparent to the angels (seekers) who surround him.

(5) Honour. “To thine own self be true” is the motto of the Christed one and because he is true to himself, his friends and his brethren he will be honored by them.

(6) Glory. He will not seek glory for himself, but glory will naturally follow because he brings glory to God and does a glorious work for humanity.

(7) Blessing. He is blessed because he blesses the world. He gives his all and blessings and thankfulness returns many-fold.

“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” Rev 5:13

Praise again is given, but this time not just to the Lamb, but to the Lamb and the one who sits on the throne. To understand this, we must recall the great words of Jesus wherein he said:

“The Father and I are one.”

In this verse we see that all life, great and small, praises God, and because he who has the fullness of Christ is one with God they are also praising him. The Christed one feels all life owes its existence to God and joins in feeling the praise flowing toward the Most High.

“And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.” 5:14

Both the higher and lower self as well as other Christed ones know they owe everything to the One Great Life, which is God, and after receiving a fullness of the Christ consciousness they are always mindful of their source and reverence him who lives for ever and ever.

Now we come to the opening of the seals. This reveals to us the great labors the Christed one must accomplish to receive a fullness of the glory of God.

The next scripture reads:

“And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.  And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Rev 6:1-2

Read, study and contemplate the meaning of the above.

Prayers and the New Song

Prayers and the New Song

The book under discussion in chapter five of Revelation represents the knowledge of God as it is revealed through the Oneness principle and differing types of revelation takes place on the various planes. One of the meanings of the seven seals is the implication that there is specific knowledge and principles that apply to our sphere of activity which must be loosed and revealed to us.

The 24 elders represent advanced souls (masters) either on heaven or on earth who have perfected the molecular relationship. Whether they are male of female physically does not matter, but they represent 12 male and 12 female energy units. They also represent the higher self.

A more personalized correspondence is this: The pilgrim incarnates through the zodiac clockwise until he becomes a disciple. Then when he learns to go against the material flow he incarnates in reverse or counterclockwise. The twelve clockwise and 12 counterclockwise increments also corresponds to the 24 points of wisdom represented here for these 24 great lessons makes a master of wisdom, or an Elder before the throne.

“And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” Rev 5:8

If we skip to verse 11 we see there are three groups praising the Lamb, the beasts, the elders and millions of angels.

Interpretation: The lower self (beasts), the masters (elders) and the inner guides (angels) acknowledge the sacrifice of the lamb, that the disciple has obeyed the soul and followed as the lamb, but has now graduated. The lamb is sacrificed and the lion emerges with all power in heaven and earth. The lamb is not dead, but transformed. He still follows the inner voice but now knows the voice and is as confident as the lion.

So what do the harps represent?

A harp must be tuned and when it is, beautiful music is played for the Master. We not only receive from God but give to him. The playing of the harp signifies that when we attain the Christ consciousness, we become finely tuned in both our lower and higher natures and are likened to a musical instrument joining in the “music of the spheres” to play in the great symphony of God.

Next it speaks of the “golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”

The golden vials represent the relative perfection of both parts of the of the nature of the Christed one. Such a divine servant senses the prayers and desires of the saints, or those who are pure in heart, following the highest they know. He then performs the duty of the name of Christ and reaches out to those who pray for more light and truth, and seeks to give it to them so they can advance to where he is. This is the true work of Christ.

Each of us can search for the gold (truth) within us and share it with those who are seeking. We do this to some degree in this group. It is our duty to listen to the prayers of the saints.

The New Song

Here are the next two verses

“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Rev 5:9

“And they sung a new song…”

The word “new” here bears examining. There are two basic words for new in the Biblical Greek. The first is NEOS which means new in the point of time. The second is KAINOS which has the same meaning as NEOS but with the addition that the thing is new in the aspect that it has never existed before. When Jesus talked of “new wine” he used NEOS, for wine had existed before the new wine. But all through the book of Revelation KAINOS is used which tells us of things that never were which are coming to pass.

When John therefore speaks of singing a new song he is speaking of a new creation, something that was not sung before. When God in Revelation says he does “all things new” it means he is creating that which has never existed in the past.

There is truth in the statement of Solomon that “there is nothing new under the sun,” but it is not literally true as evidenced by Revelation for there always comes a cycle where a new creation manifests that is different than any other in the universe.

How does this relate to us?

When the seeker contacts the soul, the Christ in him, he discovers new principles and knowledge that was never before seen by him and his whole being, higher and lower, sing with joy, a new song of thankfulness.

Now keep in mind that the song is new, not the repetition of that which is old. It reads:

“Thou art worthy to take the book,”

The fact that one discovers he is worthy when the Christ within is contacted is new to the seeker. All this time he saw himself as unworthy and now he sees through the eyes of Christ that he is sinless before God. This is a new and joyous revelation.”

…and to open the seals thereof…”

Soul contact reveals that he is worthy of unlocking knowledge that he thought was sealed to him and could only be given to prophets and holy men.

“for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”

The old self who saw himself as limited and unworthy is slain and replaced by the worthy Christ within. The great and new realization is that this blood (the life of Christ) is available not just to you, or holy men of the past, but all peoples, tongues and nations.

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests…”

Those who discover the Christ within become a king of their own domain and universe. They no longer bear the mark of the beast where an outward authority (king) must give them permission to think or to act, but they have discovered the true authority within.

The seeker no longer goes to any Priest to make intercession with God, but he is his own priest and can contact the God within for himself.

“…and we shall reign on the earth.”

Spirit has always reigned in heaven, but now something new has occurred. When the seeker finds the Christ within, he discovers that the Christ in heaven has also manifested through him as the Christ on earth. Since Christ has all power in “heaven and earth,” he reigns through us on earth as in heaven.

A reader quotes me as follows: “There is truth in the statement of Solomon that ‘there is nothing new under the sun,’ but it is not literally true”

Then he says, “Well is it true or isn’t it JJ? Can’t have it both ways.”

JJ: I am not trying to have it both ways and my beliefs do not collide here.

What I said was comparable to saying there is truth in the statement “an atom is like a solar system,” but it is not literally a solar system.” Or, there is truth in the statement “an airplane is like a bird, but it is not literally a bird.”

Even so there is truth in the statement that “there is nothing new under the sun.” And what is that truth?

It is true that history repeats many elements of itself so that no matter what happens there are some similarities to what has happened in the past.

The United States, for instance, has many similarities to ancient Rome and even more ancient Atlantis. Some look at the similarities and think there is nothing new going on because certain elements have repeated.

But not all elements have repeated. There is a forward cycle to all evolution and within this forward cycle there are certain elements that are totally new and never been externalized before.

Every new entity that comes to the earth is like any other entity in many ways, but in other ways it is new and unique, different than any other living thing in the universe.

Thus there is truth in Solomon’s truism, but there is also truth in the use of KAINOS in Revelation, or new things that have never before exactly been.

These two gleanings of truth from seemingly contradictory scriptures highlights two statements from DK.

(1) “Words veil truth.” In other words, it is difficult to put a thought into words so its meaning is literally seen in every application.

(2) He also said that two sets of teachings from even masters may appear to contradict, even though they do not when seen from a higher angle.

The Lion and the Lamb

The Lion and the Lamb

Examine these verses and see what meaning is revealed:

“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.” Rev 5:5-7

One thing stands out here, which is overlooked by commentators, which is Christ is identified here as both a lion and a lamb. Why is he linked to two beasts which are diametrically opposite to each other?

A reader observes that the slaying of the lamb was the slaying of our lower nature. This seems right, but notice that the lion was not slain and yet its beastly nature is much more powerful than the submitting lamb.

To understand either animal as it relates to the unveiling of Christ in us we must look at both of them as a whole.

After describing the two beasts John says, “ And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.”

Who took the book? Was it the living lion or the lamb who appeared to have been slain?

There is a great mystery here and one must examine the words carefully.

First, notice that it doesn’t say the lamb was dead, but the scripture indicates the lamb was standing in such a manner to give the appearance of having been slain.

When Christ was crucified it seemed by all appearances he was dead, but as it turned out he rose again so it only appeared he was slain. He was not slain at all but came back with the power and strength of a lion, which put the fear of God in the hearts of all his enemies just as a powerful lion would.

Notice the key words describing the animals. The lion “prevailed” and the lamb appeared to have been “slain.”

It is interesting that followers in the Bible are often called sheep (mature lambs) but “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force.” Matt 11:12.

The path must be trod by the humble lamb, but in the end the lamb gets slain and it takes the power of the resurrected lion to take the kingdom by force and to open the seals.

The pilgrim treads the path as the humble lamb which is herded about and controlled by many shepherds, some good and some not so good. With each new shepherd he thinks he has found the ultimate truth, but each time this happens he finds he is only herded about until eventually he winds up on the kill floor. As the lamb faces death by the hands of those with whom he was supposed to trust, and all his friends flee to a safe distance, the lion is born from the humble lamb; he rises from what seemed to be a dead end, seizes kingdom and opens the seven seals which before were beyond his grasp.

Even so it is with us. Each of us must find the peaceful Christ consciousness within and humbly follow it even as a lamb follows his shepherd, until the point of tension is reached. Then, the initiate, or the lion part of the Christ, is resurrected and seizes the pillars of knowledge. The lion of Christ realizes the shepherds can only take him so far, even with the help of the lamb of Christ within.

Eventually, “Carpe Diem” comes to his consciousness and he finds he must not only seize the day, but he must seize the kingdom.

Seizing the kingdom is a great mystery and exact instructions for it cannot be put into earthly words. The path of the lamb can be put into words and followed and this takes the pilgrim to the threshold. At the threshold the revelation comes and the lion comes to life and has an innate knowing of how to take the scroll out of the right hand of power and open the seals.

Until that day comes the pilgrim must play the roll of the lamb of God, follow the highest he knows and as well as the promptings of the Christ within, even if it seems he will be slain.

“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matt 16:25-26

The lamb seems to have been slain, but rises with the strength of a lion and takes the kingdom. At that point the Christ within says: “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matt 28:18

All things are now possible, but he no longer wants all things. He wants to see the will of God done on the earth as it is in heaven and accepts that portion of the marvelous work which belongs to him.

We are told the lamb has “seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” What does this mean?

Externally the seven horns signify seven attempts in our recent cycle of history to establish the kingdom of God on the earth and the seven eyes symbolize seven revelations given to mankind. For instance, Buddha, Christ and Moses represent three of them. These revelations and attempts at the kingdom were “sent forth into all the earth,” just as the scripture says.

For the disciple on the threshold of achieving full Christ consciousness the seven horns represent seven cycles of his own personal evolution through a series of lives and the seven eyes represent the inner vision gained from the opening of the seven chakras. These seven eyes see into heaven as well as into all the earth(ly nature) and blend the two into a working whole.

The scripture ends with:

“And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.”

The disciple submits as the lamb until he approaches the throne and presence of God. He is afraid and weeps that neither he or anyone he knows can take the scroll out of the hand of the Presence. After a time, he gains courage and rises as the lion, enters the Presence and takes the light and knowledge from the throne of God.

Question: Why couldn’t Buddha, Krishna, or any of a host of immortal Sons of God open the seven seals?

JJ: Many of the ancient teachers came close but as DK says that the Christ was the first of humanity to perfectly align his seven centers and thus the first among humanity to open the seven seals. He will not be the last, however. Eventually millions will achieve this.

Question: Why didn’t the scripture say ‘Christos’ opened the seven seals.’ Then one could clearly interpret this as anyone who is ‘anointed to deliver’, or has Christ Consciousness.

JJ: The scripture makes it clear it was Christ. The symbolism thus could refer to an outward or inner Christ. We are interpreting the vision from the aspect of the inner Christ and meaning.

Reader Comment: But, unfortunately the scripture clearly favors a narrow interpretation, because of the reference to the personality Jesus Christ. (i.e. ‘the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David’.) This is definitely not Buddha, Krishna or anybody else for that matter.

JJ: The Bible thumper may have a narrow view but we do not have to have one. If you read over my post interpreting this you should find the interpretation follows the Law of Correspondences, yet quite cosmopolitan.

The black and white Christian will read only: “The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”

But if we apply the meaning behind the word symbols and original language we would read:

“The Lion (power) of joy, the foundation of love, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”

Reader Comment: (Now, a Christian Fundamentalist would say, ‘It’s because they can’t. The fact Jesus Christ, the Root of David, hath prevailed indicates his unique position as the only ‘Son of God’. And the scripture clearly bears this out.)

JJ: This may apply to the black and white interpretation perhaps, but we are not black and white, are we?

The book was written to be interpreted on several levels and the black and white people need their words to go by as well as us.

Reader Comment: I thought all self-realized individuals would have their seven centers perfectly aligned. The fact Buddha and others did not comes as quite a revelation to me.

JJ: Here is the quote from DK on the subject: “All the seven centres in the etheric vehicle of the Christ were rightly adjusted, correctly aligned, truly awakened and functioning, and properly receptive of all the seven streams of energy coming from the seven planetary centres; these put Him en rapport, therefore, and in full realised contact, with the One in Whom He lived and moved and had His being. The physiological result of this complete “esoteric surrender of the seven” (as it is sometimes called) to the incoming spiritual energies, in their right order and rhythm, was the appearance in the Christ of a perfect endocrine system. All His glands (both major and minor) were functioning correctly; this produced a “perfect man”-physically perfect, emotionally stable and mentally controlled. In modern terms, the “pattern of the behaviour” of the Christ-due to the perfection of His glandular system, as an effect of correctly awakened and energised centres-made Him an expression of divine perfection to the entire world; HE WAS THE FIRST OF OUR HUMANITY TO ARRIVE AT THIS POINT IN EVOLUTION, AND “THE ELDEST IN A GREAT FAMILY OF BROTHERS,” AS ST. PAUL EXPRESSES IT. The current pictures of the Christ testify to their own complete inaccuracy, for they bear no witness to any glandular perfection; they are full of weakness and sweetness, but show little strength, alert power and aliveness. And the promise has gone forth that as He is, so may we be in this world.” Esoteric Healing Pages 61-62

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon Rolls

A reader comments that after a few days without food the discomfort of hunger goes. I’ve heard people say this before and perhaps for some it is true for them, but it certainly is not true for me.

I have fasted many times in my life and in each case the hunger increased every day and I had to use quite a bit of self-control to continue. When I fasted without food or water, I got thirstier every day also.

I’ll have to tell you a funny experience. A friend and I decided to go on a 10 day fast on water only and break it during the full moon. Near the end of the fast we discovered that we miscalculated the date of the full moon by two days. If we wanted to break our fast during the full moon, we had to go two extra days. Now going ten days was bad enough and let me tell you that the hunger did not subside after a few days as some fasting experts teach. But it was bearable because I had mentally accepted the difficulties of fasting ten days.

Those last two days were the most different of any fasting experience I have had. We were not psychologically prepared for going this extra time and it made this last period much more difficult than it would have been if we had decided to go 12 days to begin with.

Around the 11th day I went to visit my nephew and to my dismay his wife was cooking the best looking, best smelling cinnamon rolls I have ever witnessed in my life. She brought some to us and offered me one. I looked at them and I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. Normally, I’m not that big on cinnamon rolls but these were different, perfectly made with an aroma that boggled the mind.

I explained to her that I was on a fast and asked her if she could please make another batch later on when I was not fasting. She agreed. Then I had to watch my nephew wolf down three or four of them. From that moment I started looking forward to a bite of those divine rolls.

Somehow, we made it to the 12th day, but as luck would have it my nephew and his wife started having marital problems shortly thereafter and wound up divorcing. As it turned out she never made me that batch of rolls.

To this day whenever I think of her bringing out those divine rolls my mouth waters. I have never seen food look so good in my life. Now I’ve cooked steak dinners for others when on a fast and had no problem, but there was something about those rolls on those last two days of the fast that I was not psychologically prepared for that really got to me.

Question: Didn’t Joseph say that if you just caught a glimpse of the lowest or telestial kingdom that many would want to kill themselves to get there? How could that be if we are already here?

This idea was mistakenly attributed to Joseph Smith in a speech by Eldred G. Smith in 1964, but there is no record of Joseph saying this.

If Joseph saw a vision of some other advanced planets in this physical universe, he may have seen places that were much more desirable than this earth. If he saw the lower astral he could have seen some benefits there that we do not have here.

An interesting point is the misquote says we can get there by killing ourselves whereas current Mormon doctrine says we do not go there after we die, but to a spirit prison or paradise and it would be a long time before we get to any kingdom, so killing ourselves would just delay any arrival to glory.

The Three Kingdoms

The Three Kingdoms

In another group a guru with a Mormon background challenged me to a doctrinal duel. He challenged me to answer a question posed by a member telling me that his answer would have so much light that it would put mine to shame.

As you know, I like a good challenge so I accepted and wrote a response. But after I posted, the guy quit his own group and never participated in his own challenge.

I thought I would post my response here. I know those with LDS experience will enjoy it, but the non-LDS should also if I give you a little background.

Standard LDS doctrine teaches that after death you go to the spirit world to await the great judgement. The spirit world has two divisions, one called paradise and the other a spirit prison.

Then after a period of time comes the resurrection where all take their bodies back up again and are judged and sent to a kingdom of glory. There are three kingdoms of glory. The highest is the celestial which has the glory of the sun. This is where the really good guys go.

The second is the terrestrial which has the glory of the moon. This is where your next-door neighbor goes who is a good citizen.

The lowest is the telestial. This is where the liars, thieves and general bad guys go.

Finally, there is a kingdom so bad that it has no glory. This is outer darkness where those who fight against God go to live with Satan.

A lot of these ex-Mormon gurus think I am going there.

That said here was my response.

RESPONSE

Chris, who sees himself as a modern-day Elijah challenged me (who he sees as a priest of Baal) to draw down fire (revelation) from heaven.

I am still here with my fire.

Where is Chris?

Oh, well, I will continue (with or without him) since I said I would.

I was asked to comment on a member’s post. This is not really a question but a request for elaboration, so I will elaborate.

He writes: Chris, I have a question/issue with the idea of different bodies that I hope you can help me with.

First some background. I know 1Cor 15:40 speaks of “bodies celestial and bodies terrestrial”. BUT the rest of the verse speaks of the “glory” of these bodies: “but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.”

The thought came that perhaps “glory” was the only differentiating factor between the different bodies.

Then I remembered D&C 88:28: “They who are of a celestial spirit shall receive the SAME BODY which was a NATURAL BODY; even ye shall receive YOUR BODIES, and your GLORY shall be that glory by which your bodies are quickened.”

That verse indicated that we will receive our natural body, but that the difference would be “that glory by which your bodies are quickened”. It supported the idea that the only differentiating factor was “glory”.

Finally, I was studying the Book of Mormon, and for the first time, picked-up on a sequence of events that I’d overlooked before. Again and again, it tells us that FIRST is the RESURRECTION. THEN comes the JUDGMENT.

Of course, the problem is – IF resurrected “bodies” are different, depending on the kingdom we inherit, we would need to FIRST be judged and assigned a kingdom … THEN be resurrected. But that is not the sequence taught in the BofM!!

Can you help shed some light on this???

JJ Response: The first thing to understand is that the typical Mormon understanding of the three degrees, the resurrection, the pre-existence is extremely flawed, caused partially by a lack of full explanation given by Joseph Smith or the scriptures.

Yet Joseph did leave several clues in the D&C and his writings. In the preceding verses to that which John quoted we read: “For notwithstanding they die, they also shall rise again, a spiritual body.” D&C 88:27

What is this? The dead will rise in a spiritual body? That means they will have a physical body, but spirit in their veins right?

Not quite. Here is another hint. We are told this about the terrestrial inhabitants: “And also they who are the SPIRITS of men kept in prison, whom the Son visited, and preached the gospel unto them, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh; Who received not the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, but afterwards received it. These are they who are honorable men of the earth, who were blinded by the craftiness of men.” D&C 76:73-75

What is this? You thought terrestrial inhabitants were physical, but here we learn from one scripture they rise in a spiritual body and even in the nonphysical afterlife there are terrestrial people who are called “spirits.”

Well, that’s because he’s just a terrestrial consciousness who has not been resurrected says one.

Not so says Joseph Smith: “Many have supposed that the doctrine of translation was a doctrine whereby men were taken immediately into the presence of God, and into an eternal fullness, but his is a mistaken idea. Their place of habitation is that of the terrestrial order, and a place (terrestrial place) prepared for such characters He held in reserve to be ministering angels unto many planets, and WHO AS YET HAVE NOT ENTEREDINTO SO GREAT A FULLNESS AS THOSE WHO ARE RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD.” Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.” TPJS Pg 170

What’s this??? The terrestrial kingdom is a place occupied by ministering angels who are not yet “resurrected from the dead.”

How do they minister to many planets if they are confined to a physical body? But if they are in a spiritual body this would be possible.

Now let us move up to the celestial kingdom. What are we told about this? Surely, this highest kingdom will be composed of physical beings only.

Most Latter-Day Saints assume that when they are exalted they will automatically receive the resurrection, but obviously they have not read the teachings of their founder: “You have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, namely by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one; from grace to grace, FROM EXALTATION TO EXALTATION, UNTIL YOU ATTAIN TO THERESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.” DHC 6:306

We not only have to be exalted once, but a number of times before we overcome death. After all Paul said: “The LAST enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” I Cor 15: Concerning those who receive an exaltation it is written “And they SHALL (not have) overcome all things.” D&C 76:60 Thus even after one receives an exaltation he has to overcome many things, and the LAST thing to overcome is death, and this only occurs after passing through numerous exaltations. All those who have not passed through numerous exaltations will therefore attain another type of resurrection which is being brought to life again by being reborn, or reincarnation. These are the inhabitants of the telestial, terrestrial, and some of the celestial kingdom, but not the sons of perdition. These sons of perdition will attain no resurrection in this sphere of activity, but will be sent back to their native element to start all over again.

The scriptures tell us that the celestial inhabitants can choose whether or not to be subjected to death or endless life: “Wherefore, all things are theirs, whether LIFE OR DEATH, or things present, or things to come, all are theirs and they are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.” D&C 76:59

This is a very subtle scripture but there is no escaping the fact that the choice of either “life or death” belongs to celestial inhabitants. After all, that is what it says in black and white. We are clearly told that the celestial inhabitants are the only ones with any type of immortality: “For man is spirit. The elements are eternal, and spirit and element INSEPARABLY CONNECTED, receive a fulness of joy.” D&C 93:3

Who receives a fulness of joy? We know the son of perdition does not and of the telestial inhabitants it is written: “These are they who are thrust down to hell. These are they who receive NOT of his fulness…” D&C 76:84&86

The terrestial inhabitants also miss this fulness: “These (those in the terrestial world) are they who receive of his glory, BUT NOT OFHIS FULNESS.” D&C 76:76

Immortality in either of these two lower worlds is impossible according to D&C 93:33 because they do not have fulness of joy; therefore, their spirits and bodies are NOT inseparably connected. Where does one receive a fulness of joy? “In thy presence is fulness of joy.” Psalms 16:11 “They shall inherit the kingdom of God…and their joy shall be full forever.” II Nephi 9:18

These scriptures indicate that a fulness of joy only takes place in the presence of God or the celestial kingdom. Therefore, the celestial is the only one of the three revealed kingdoms where the spirit and body are “inseparably connected”. Thus, of the three kingdoms, only the celestial has any degree of immortality and even there immortality is by choice. They can choose “life or death”. In other words, they can live in an immortal state until they feel they need some new challenge. Then they choose mortality or “death” as did Adam.

The church has taught from the beginning that the earth is a part of the telestial kingdom. During the temple ceremony in the telestial room the speaker reveals: “Brethren and sisters, this room represents the telestial kingdom, OR THE WORLD IN WHICH WE NOW LIVE.” The description of the telestial world given in the Doctrine and Covenants correlates with the information given in the temple revealing that planet earth is the real telestial kingdom.

The highest inhabitants of the telestial world “shall be servants of the Most High.” D&C 76:112 and the lowest “are they who suffer the wrath of God ON EARTH.” D&C 76:104 We are further told that the telestial inhabitants receive “the administering of angels (as did Joseph Smith) who are appointed to minister for them, or who are to be ministering spirits for them; for they (us here on the earth now, the telestial inhabitants) shall be heirs of salvation.” D&C 76:88

The original temples were built with three rooms representing the three kingdoms. The saints progressed from one room or kingdom to another thus demonstrating with profound clarity that we pass from one life to another until we leave the telestial and go to a higher world, the terrestrial, and finally, the celestial.

But that is not all. The celestial is NOT the highest. The scriptures tell us there are realms higher than this: In the celestial kingdom “the white stone mentioned in Revelation 2:17 will become a Urim and Thummim to each individual who receives one, whereby things pertaining to A HIGHER ORDER OF KINGDOMS will be made known.” D&C 130:10

Higher orders of kingdoms than the celestial??? That’s something we were not taught in Sunday School, but there it is in the scriptures. No revelation has elaborated on these higher kingdoms, and why should they? The telestial kingdom that we are presently in “surpasses all understanding”. A description of any kingdom above the celestial would have no meaning to us in our present state of consciousness. Those who fall short of the highest resurrection (the resurrection of life) and yet do not become sons of perdition are reincarnated and generally come back in another life to this telestial world. When we fall short of the perfection of Christ the scriptures tell us that our defiled bodies will be destroyed and there will be a continuing separation of body and spirit until we overcome all things. The scripture decrees: “And when separated (spirit and body), man cannot receive a fulness of joy. The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God, even temples; (referring to our bodies) and whatsoever temple (body) is defiled, GOD SHALLDESTROY THAT TEMPLE.” D&C 93:34-35

Now we understand why it is written that “the wages of sin is death.” Rom 6:23 When we sin and our bodies are defiled we are clearly told they will be destroyed. This is why we are told that “the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” I Cor 15:26 We live life after life in the telestial kingdom each time sinning and falling short of the glory of God, leaving our bodies behind to be destroyed until we finally “come to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Eph 4:13) and manifest the glory of God through a life of sinlessness. At that time we “put on immortality” as did Jesus. The Bible agrees with modern day revelation on this subject: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, HIM SHALL GOD DESTROY; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” I Cor 3:16-17

Paul talks about the two resurrections and informs us that one will bring “corruption” and the other “life everlasting”: “For every man shall bear his own burden…Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall OF THE FLESH REAP CORRUPTION; (the resurrection of KRISIS or rebirth in mortality) but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting (or the resurrection of life).” Gal 6:5-8

The word “corruption” here comes from the Greek PHTHORA which is derived from PHTHEIRO the same word that is used when Paul said that God shall “destroy” the defiled temples. PHTHORA indicates a state of “decay”.

Thus Paul is simply telling us over and over that if our mind is centered on carnal things we will not put on immortality but reap corruption, decay, and eventually have our bodies destroyed. How else can this scripture be fulfilled unless we are born again and put on mortality instead of immortality? How can we “of the flesh reap corruption” in the telestial kingdom if the inhabitants are all immortal and there is no corruption or decay?

How do we escape the resurrection of corruption? “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life (the resurrection of life), AND SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION (“Condemnation” comes from KRISIS and means the resurrection of life): but is passed from death to life.” John 5:24 The scriptures plainly tell us that there are two resurrections. In the resurrection of life we put on immortality, but still have the free will to choose death. In the resurrection of corruption we will continue to live in a mortal state where our bodies are subjected to decay and destruction.

Conclusion: The three kingdoms talked about in the scriptures represent the three states of matter or the three worlds of form.

The telestial kingdom is our regular physical universe. Look up at the planets, stars and galaxies out there. All of them including this earth are a part of this kingdom. Etheric matter and the lowest part of the spirit prison (astral world) could also be called telestial.

The terrestrial kingdom is a higher vibration composed of positive emotional or desire matter. This is the same matter that creates paradise as mentioned in the scriptures. The lower parts of the spirit prison are created by negative emotional matter.

The celestial kingdom is composed of thought matter created by higher mind.

Those kingdoms higher than the celestial (of which Joseph spoke) are composed of high spiritual vibration beyond the power of images to convey. Sages in the East call these the formless worlds. Buddha called them nirvana.

Finally, the reader asks, “I was studying the Book of Mormon, and for the first time, picked-up on a sequence of events that I’d overlooked before. Again and again, it tells us that FIRST is the RESURRECTION. THEN comes the JUDGMENT.”

There are several ways to interpret this, as is the case with all scripture. When we die, we go through a correspondence of a resurrection and wind up in a spiritual body in one of the kingdoms. After this occurs, and we spend the appointed time there we are judged and sent back to the earth in a new body to reap that which we have sown until we experience the final resurrection of eternal life.

The true last judgement will take place at the end of life on the physical earth, millions of years hence, where DK tells us that 60% of the people will pass on to higher realms and 40% will move on to another telestial earth to continue their lessons.

Diet, the Song and Controversy

Diet, the Song and Controversy

A reader who was not a vegetarian wanted to know if she was missing out on her spiritual evolution because of this quote from DK:

“Only those who have been for ten years strict vegetarians can work thus in what might be called the “record aspect of the astral light.” When they add to their purified astral and physical bodies the light of reason and illumination of the focused mind (which is very rarely found), then they become accurate interpreters of astral phenomena.” Esoteric Psychology, Vol 1, Page 241

JJ: One has to approach a very refined state to accurately see the astral light as well as mental thought forms. Very few people can do this, even vegetarians.

Now keep in mind that attaining this ability to see phenomena is not a sure sign of high evolution, but many of those highly evolved who can see such things are also vegetarians. Vegetarianism assists in the seeing more than normal vision for diet can increase sensitivity, but not wisdom or common sense.

I learned to see auras and had some success in seeing thought forms when I was on a strict vegetarian diet. I now eat meat but have retained most of my abilities, but they have not increased since I chose a heavier diet.

I found I was too spiritually centered on a vegetarian diet and decided I needed to become more grounded and switched to eating meat. I may switch back later, pending the guidance I get from my soul.

There have been great and advanced souls come to the earth who have eaten meat and others who are vegetarians. Both paths have their advantages. The vegetarian has an increase of sensitivity to the higher senses. The meat eater often develops greater common sense in dealing with real world issues and can go full steam ahead in developing the mind and the intuition.

The Song

Question: Is the Song of the 144,000 from the Immortal book the real thing?

JJ: I believe it is the real Song for the physical plane, but the circumstances in which it was initiated was different than in the book. Also keep this in mind. The verses of Revelation have multi-layered interpretation and there are higher octaves of the Song for the higher planes as well as inner meanings.

Something I find interesting is that no one (that I know of) has even claimed to have presented the Song of the 144,000 to the world over the past 2000 years. I am amazed there are not a hundred versions of it floating around by now, but there seem to be none. However, some have taken the Song and altered it and are using it for their own purposes.

Evidence that the Song is inspired is contained in the Song itself. The words therein are eternal words and shall not pass away, but the use of it shall increase until it shall be known among all men.

Since publishing the Song I have received many testimonies in public and private of wonderful effects that it has had on various individuals. I am often amazed when I say it myself on the difference in how I feel before and after.

A Great Controversy

When this was written in 2005 there was a great controversy over a lady named Terri Schiavo.  She was in a near vegetative state for over fifteen years. Her husband wanted to pull the plug on her and let her starve to death and the parents want her life preserved at all costs.

To make matters more complicated some believe that Terri’s condition was due to foul play from her husband. This is another issue though so let us put it aside for the sake of this discussion.

The battle between the husband and the parents has caught the national eye which has expanded the battle to include millions of conservatives against millions of liberals.

Which side is correct?

In my view neither are. Both sides are illusionary in their thinking, especially in their views of death which is seen as the most terrible thing in the universe.

In reality death is the closing of one door and the opening of another. There are many things worse than death. This is a simple statement, but one that needs to be incorporated into mankind’s thinking.

Let’s us first look at the liberal view on this. They basically believe that when one is in a no-win health situation that a person should be able to be taken off life support.

In the case of Terri Schiavo this means letting her starve to death over a period that could last a month or more.

A while back I heard a person interviewed who the authorities attempted to put to death in this manner. After a few weeks of starving her loved ones were able to reverse the decision and a short time later she miraculously recovered. After recovering she said that she was not a vegetable as the authorities assumed and that the attempt to starve her to death was a living hell.

Now, no one knows for sure if Terri Schiavo has enough consciousness left to register the living hell of starving to death, but there is a good chance she is consciously suffering at this time.

The question is this. Why in the world do the authorities pick this obscene method of putting a person to death when it would be much more merciful to put a stake in her heart or to cut her head off? Anything quick makes much more sense than a painful month of starvation.

The reason for this illogical process is that the laws of the land would condemn anyone for murder who assisted in any way with her death. The logic behind the law is that if you do nothing and just let a person starve to death in agony you are innocent.

Pretty ridiculous, isn’t it?

Now the conservative believe is that physical life is a gift from God and must be preserved at all costs. They seem to think that being in horrific pain or discomfort for 10-20 years is much better than death. The main thing is to just stay alive.

This thinking doesn’t say much for their view of heaven. If heaven is so good then why the need to stay here in great pain when pulling the plug will take us to great bliss?

There is another thing to consider. When Jesus had enough of suffering on the cross he pulled the plug on himself and bailed from the no win situation. “Receive my spirit,” he said as he left the scene of torture.

Now if it was all right for Jesus to vacate a bad situation after less than one day of torture then why would we condemn Terri Schiavo or family for releasing her after 15 years of suffering?

Where is the harm so long as the patient is not tortured to death with the slow death of starvation?

A good example of how this can be done right, with mercy, is given in the movie Million Dollar Baby.

It’s a great movie and if you have not seen it yet, you will not be disappointed.

Reading the Scroll

Reading the Scroll

The Question: Why do the 24 elders cast their crowns before the throne?

DK’s story illustrates the truth here better than any writing I can think of. At the end of a cycle of evolution we go through a period where we savor the fruits of our labors represented by the gold crowns. But then we must pass into a new cycle of higher evolution and release ourselves from all attachments to the past and rewards thereof, and pass through the eye of the needle into a higher order of kingdoms.

Question: What is the significance of the four beasts giving “glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever?”

This tells us that at the end of our evolution where we manifest the fullness of Christ, even as Jesus did, that our lower nature will yield to the higher, receive a fullness of joy and give glory to spirit instead of matter.

Who or what lives forever?

It is God in us who lives forever. Our God essence never had a beginning and shall never have an end.

Next we read:

“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book (scroll) written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?   And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.” Rev 5:1-4

Questions: What is the book (“scroll” in the Greek)? What does it mean that there is writing on both sides? What are the seven seals?

Why could no man open the book?

There are several additional things to keep in mind as we proceed. Most people read about the scroll and the opening of the seals and think it pertains to events of the last days before the end of the world.

BUT…

Remember the first verse of the book which we quoted earlier which reads:

“The Revelation (unveiling) of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must SHORTLY come to pass.”

2000 years is not a short time by any historical standard. Therefore, to get the true unveiling that was the intention of the scroll perhaps we must look at the interpretation unfolding in the Christ within the servant, rather than a literal happening on the physical plane.

I will add this. The book does deal with cycles and correspondences; therefore, if we pick any time in history, past, present or future, we will see evidences of ancient prophecy coming true, but we will never see the literal sequence on the physical plane that many are expecting.

That said, let us look at the questions:

What is the book (“scroll” on the Greek)? What does it mean that there is writing on both sides? What are the seven seals?

Why could no man open the book?

Normally the ancient scribes wrote on one side of a scroll which was the inside. Part of the reason is that this side was made for writing and the direction of the fiber made writing easier. However, if one had a lot to say he would take the extra time and work to write on the second side.

The writing on the second side tells us several things.

First, revelation from the throne of God is in abundance. Wherever you look you will find knowledge and inspiration.

Secondly, the scroll is rolled up and sealed. All John could see was a small amount of writing on the backside. This told him that in addition to the normal writing on the inside that there was much more written on this scroll than a regular one. The fact that he could only see a small amount of writing on the outside of the scroll symbolizes that the knowledge of God held by the disciple only scratches the surface of what is available when the seals are broken and the whole book is read.

So, what is the book?

The book represents the book of life which contains all knowledge and wisdom which is available through the Oneness Principle. The beginning disciple is aware of the principle and has seen evidence that it is true and that all knowledge is available because he sees a small amount of the outside of the scroll. This small amount seen gives him faith and makes him press forward with the hope that all seals can be broken and all will knowledge be available to him.

The seven seals represent the seven divisions of the life of God as represented by the seven rays, the seven spirits before the throne, the seven chakras, the seven paths etc. Seven states of consciousness must be achieved to unseal the whole scroll so a fullness of the Oneness Principle can be achieved.

Then John wrote:

“And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.” Rev 5:2-3

Why could no man open the book?

The answer was given by Paul, “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” I Cor 15:50

We cannot open this book using mortal flesh and blood human consciousness. The seeker must ascend to the throne which is beyond normal consciousness wherein lies the open door of the soul to the intuitive knowledge of the Oneness Principle.

Finally the scripture reads:

“And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.” Rev 5:4

The disciple finds a small amount of evidence of the truth of the Oneness Principle and for a long time the opening of the book eludes him and he cries out in frustration. He often comes close to losing faith until:

“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.” Rev 5:5-7

One thing stands out here, which is overlooked by commentators, is Christ is identified here as both a lion and a lamb. Why is he linked to two beasts which are diametrically opposite to each other?

A reader observes that the slaying of the lamb was the slaying of our lower nature. This seems right, but notice that the lion was not slain and yet its beastly nature is much more powerful than the submitting lamb.

To understand either animal as they relate to the unveiling of Christ in us we must look at both of them as a whole.

After describing the two beasts John says, “And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.”

Who took the book? Was it the living lion, or the lamb who appeared to have been slain?

As the lamb faces death by the hands of those with whom he was supposed to trust, and all his friends flee to a safe distance, the lion is born from the humble lamb. He rises from what seemed to be a dead end, seizes the kingdom and opens the seven seals which before were beyond his grasp.

Even so it is with us. Each of us must find the peaceful Christ consciousness within and humbly follow it, as a lamb follows his shepherd, until the point of tension is reached.

At the threshold the revelation manifests and the lion comes to life and has an innate knowing of how to take the scroll out of the right hand of power and open the seals.

Until that day comes the pilgrim must play the role of the lamb of God, follows the highest he knows and as well as the promptings of the Christ within, even if it seems he will be slain.

After a time he gains courage and rises as the lion, enters the Presence and takes the light and knowledge from the throne of God.

Now let us look at the next verses:

“And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Rev 5:8-10

Contemplate the meaning in preparation for the next discussion.

The Yielding of Crowns

The Yielding of Crowns

(Note from JJ: This is post number 1000 in the edited archives, representing the essential teachings from November 1998 to March of 2005.  These 1000 articles were extracted from an original number of 2795 posts. The reason the number is less are several. First, I have combined a number of them and, secondly, have not included others that talked about issues that were timely years ago but wouldn’t be of much interest today. For these edited archives I have tried to stay with teachings that will make interesting reading for an indefinite future. I plan on eventually turning these archives into a series of books.

Since most members of the current Keys of Knowledge were not members in 2005 and earlier these should be new to them and a refresher course for our older members.

Hope the group is enjoying these archives as my next step is to start on the second thousand.)

The Question: Why do the 24 elders cast their crowns before the throne?

We received some intelligent answers to this. I say intelligent because the readers tried to follow the Law of Correspondences. This is right-minded thinking even if they arrive at different, non-conflicting conclusions.

Let me remind the group that I have said many times that every inspired teaching or scripture has more than one interpretation. In fact, the closer the words are to pure spirit the deeper and more multifaceted will be the meaning.

In interpreting the Book of Revelation we are examining some of the most profound words ever written; hence the possibility of numerous interpretations that correspond and are true.

We do not have time to examine the interpretations given to see how accurate they are, but if one wishes to do so he will apply the interpretation to all possible circumstances and see how closely it fits in with the Law of Correspondences. As long as it fits, keep on going and see where it takes you, but if several elements do not fit then, one must back up and re-examine. Remember there are many more wrong interpretations of scripture than right ones. The two keys of knowing are soul contact and the application of the Law of Correspondences.

The angle of approach we are taking is to seek correspondences to the main theme of the book which is the unveiling of Christ. So far so good.

One of my last questions was:

“Why do the 24 elders cast their crowns before the throne?”

A fascinating hint is given in the words of DK. Read them over and comment again upon this question.

“Within the radius of power and life which is the expression of the fourth kingdom in nature, the human, there was to be found a correspondence to that “assumption of independence” and to that “breaking away” which characterised the major grouping. Back in later Lemurian times, a group of men of high development, from the point of view of that time, and numbered among the then disciples of the world, took issue with the planetary Hierarchy, and broke away from the “law of the initiates”. It was a time wherein the emphasis of the teaching was upon the material side of life, and where the focus of attention was upon the physical nature and its control. The Old Commentary expresses what happened in the following terms, and as you read the measured cadences of that ancient script, it would be wise to try and realise that the phrases are referring to that group of disciples who were the early founders of the present Jewish race:

“The law went forth from the inner group which guided the destinies of men: Detach yourselves. Withdraw within yourselves the power to hold and gain and get. The sons of God, who train themselves to leave the world of men and enter into light, they ever travel free. They hold not what they have. Release yourselves, and enter through the gates of peace.

“Some of the sons of God, waiting outside those gates, ready to enter when the Word went forth to roll the gates aside, were laden with the treasure of the earth. They brought their gifts as offerings to the Lord of life, who needed not their gifts. They sought to enter through those gates, not with a selfish end in view, but to present the garnered treasures of the world, and thus shew their love.

“Again the Word went forth: Leave all behind and pass beyond the portal, laden with naught of earth. They waited and discussed. The rest of those who were prepared entered into light and passed between the pillars of the gate; they left behind the loads they brought and entered free, and were accepted, carrying naught.

“Because they travelled as a group, and as a group progressed and grasped, the group responded to the divine command and halted. There they waited, standing before the portal of the Path, grasping the garnered treasures of a thousand cycles. Naught did they wish to leave behind. They had laboured for the riches which they held. They loved their God, and Him they sought to dower with the fullest measure of the riches they had gained. They loved not discipline.

“Again the Word went forth: Drop on the ground all that you hold, and enter free.

“But three revolted from that stern command. The rest obeyed. They passed within the gates, leaving the three outside. Many were raised unto the heights of joy. The three remained without the gates, holding their treasure firm.”

In this ancient writing, older than any of the written scriptures of the world, is to be found the secret of the Masonic story and of the slaying of the Master by the three most closely associated with Him in His death and burial. Masons will all recognise the three to whom I here refer. These three were the founders of the modern Jewish race. They were three advanced disciples who resented the command to enter, free and untrammelled, the place where light is to be found. They sought to hold that which they had gathered and to dedicate it to the service of God. Their unrecognised motive was love of riches and a desire to hold safe their gains. Ancient tradition, as taught by the teachers of the past, tells us that…

“They turned their faces towards the gates of earth. Their friends went on….. They stayed behind….. The Masters met in conclave and decided what should be the fate of those who, having reached the Gates of Light, loved the possessions of the world more than they loved the service of the light. Again the Word went forth to the revolting three, who waited still without the gates:

“`Hold what you have and gather more, but know no peace. Garner the fruits of mind, and seek your power in wide possessions, but have no sure abiding place.

“`Within yourselves, because you are disciples of the Lord, you shall have no share in peace, no sure and certain knowledge of success, nor power to hold your gains.

“`Always shall there be the knowledge dim of Him Who watches over all. Always the urge to gather and amass. Never the time to hold and to enjoy. Pass on therefore until the time shall come, and again you stand before the Gates of Light, this time with empty hands. Then enter, free, accepted by the Servants of the Lord, and know, forever, peace.’“

The ancient legend tells us that the three went forth in sorrow and revolt, laden with their treasures, and thus the history of the wandering Jew began. It is significant to remember that one of the greatest sons of God Who has worked on earth, and Who epitomised in Himself the way and the achievement, Jesus of Nazareth, was a Jew. He reversed all the earlier conditions. He possessed nothing at all. He was the first of our humanity to achieve, and was a direct descendant of the eldest of the original three disciples who revolted from the drama of detachment. The Jew embodies in himself the world prodigal son.” Esoteric Psychology Vol 1; Pages 395-398
