Astrology and the Beasts

Astrology and the Beasts

Question: Why are we interpreting Revelation in terms of astrology which is in its infancy and which mankind cannot understand?

JJ: No one says that we cannot understand it. Many understand the basics of it.

We are also in the infancy of developing the potential of the computer. Would it make sense to throw your computer away because there is much more to come?

Comment: Do we even know enough about the “science” to be able to apply it?

JJ: Yes. We know enough to put a number of principles to use. I certainly have in my life.

Question: Why would John write something which after 2,000 years is still largely unintelligible to most if not all mankind?

JJ: First, we are not going “by the astrological interpretation of the Book of Revelations.” But if astrological symbols are applicable in several of the many verses we will examine them and see how they apply.

As far as being unintelligent goes, the whole of the book of Revelations is much more complicated to the average person than is astrology. If we were to be turned off a things because of difficulty, interpreting Revelation would be the top of the list of most people.

JJ The granddaddy of complex spiritual writings are the those of DK. If we were to shy away from the complex in this group we would avoid him like the plague.

The goal here is to make the complex simple. This generally happens when the truth is explained in plain English. I’ve written quite a bit about astrology in the past and no one has complained that it was difficult to understand as I presented it. Hopefully this will be the case when astrology is brought into play in the future.

Question: How useful is astrology as a means of interpreting the Book of Revelations?

JJ: Orthodox astrology is most centered around personality analysis and prediction which is only a small part of the craft and this has nothing to do with the present analysis of Revelation. Currently we are talking about the symbols involved and the meaning John was trying to portray.

There are three basic principles involved in astrology which are relationships, cycles and symbols. The use of symbols is a key ingredient to both astrology and the Book of Revelation. None of these are an exact science at the present, but a developing science, just as psychology is a developing science in its infancy. Even though psychology is not a mature science this does not mean that what we do know is not useful. It is. Even so it is with the developing science of astrology.

Reader Comment: There MUST be another explanation other than to rely on a science which some of us might understand sometime in the future, but which is currently not understood, and therefore not learnable and not teachable in its true state.

JJ If it is useless to examine the symbols of astrology then we would have to say it is useless to examine the symbols of Revelation. I think both are of value.

And if our understanding of symbols are wrong then we may be wrong in many of our interpretations of the scriptures and other inspired writings. Does this mean we should not try to understand anything with symbols? Of course not. As the seeker moves ahead his understanding will grow and he will correct his errors and eventually see in the light of day.

The reader seems to be implying that we are using astrology as a base for interpreting the whole book. We could, but we are not. Instead, we are applying it to a couple verses. As a base theme we are using “the unveiling of Jesus Christ,” because this is what was implied by John himself.

Reader: It takes revelation in order to understand revelation.

JJ: Many claim revelation to understand this and other scriptures and most of them disagree with each other showing that someone isn’t getting revelation after all. The key is this. When the truth is spoken or written it will be registered with the souls of those who are ready.

Even if I got a revelation on understanding Revelation I would, most likely, not tell you for it may take away from your own use of soul contact in confirming for yourself.

Overall, this reader seems to have a negative view of any use of astrology in  connection with the scriptures, as do many fundamentalist  Christians, but the Book of Revelation is encoded in symbols just as astrology is.

In finding truth and interpreting symbols we use what works. It is beyond coincidence that John picked not only four astrological symbols, but all four belong to the fixed cross. Four signs belong to the mutable cross, four to the cardinal and four fixed. Obviously, the revealer of the images here incorporated astrological symbols for a reason. We would be remiss in not discovering what that reason is.

The reader thinks we are interpreting from our comfort zone and fixed mindset here but I think the truth is the opposite. Astrology as it relates to Revelations goes way beyond with what the average Christian is comfortable.

I do not see any relation between a fixed mindset and astrology or any other discipline. One could have a fixed mindset about excluding astrology.

This reader or anyone else are welcome to give us an interpretation that is not a preconceived idea. Go for it.

Meanwhile, we shall explore the four beasts more deeply.

Question: What do they have to do with the “unveiling of Christ?”

Another reader wonders if the criteria for interpreting astrology as well as the Book of Revelation has changed in the last 2000 years.

Both the Book of Revelation and astrology rely heavily on cycles and symbols. Both rely heavily on eternal principles and are applicable in all ages of time of the current universe which has billions of years yet to exist.

The principles and laws that govern the universe are the same today as they were 2000 years ago and as they will be 2000 years hence.

There is a continuing shift of consciousness, but this merely brings us closer to understanding eternal principles and laws, but does not change them.

The question: What do the four beasts have to do with the “unveiling of Christ?”

To fully understand the four beasts we first must go back to the theme of Revelation which is the “unveiling of Jesus Christ.”

What does the unveiling of Christ mean?

It means much more than our understanding the man Jesus, for Christ is in us all and the goal of each of us is to become like him and share in his consciousness. He who taught in Jerusalem represented the relative perfection of the Christ principle and thus has born the title of “The Christ.” Even so, he is “the first of many brethren” and was the great example for us to follow. Each of us must also unfold, or unveil, the Christ within each of us:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.” Phil 2:5-6

Therefore, the unveiling of Jesus Christ not only applies to the entity who bears the title of “The Christ,” but also applies to those who are attempting to experience “this mind in you.”

Another point to consider is this. To understand the four beats we cannot look at the beasts in isolation but must examine the whole picture that John is painting in this chapter and relate it to the Christ consciousness.

If we read the whole chapter we find that the perfected Christ consciousness consists of the following:

(1) Opening the door to heaven (soul contact)

(2) After making this contact we perceive the inner God sitting on his throne within our own being.

(3) We receive spiritual light from the inner voice of God.

(4) He sees 2X12 ancient lives sitting on thrones. This tells us that he who has soul contact and has attained the mind of Christ not only communes with the one inner God upon the throne, but also contacts a group of Christ-like beings through the Oneness Principle. These are beings who are linked together through the Molecular Relationship on the other side.

(5) He sees a sea of glass, or the light of inner space which enlightens his mind.

(6) Finally, he sees the four beasts.

Everything he has seen so far is connected with the higher nature or self. The four beasts represent the lower nature and keys to bringing it into the service of the God upon the throne. Notice that these beasts are praising and serving God. This is the destiny of the lower nature, but first matter must be subject to spirit and not the other way around.

The beasts have six wings that enable them to fly to the throne of God. What enables our consciousness to ascend from the lower nature to spirit? This ascension takes place through the wings of the six active centers.

(1) The sacral center which governs sex and sensuality. This wing is activated when sexual energy is brought under the direction of the soul and is directed toward the Higher Self rather than being the controlling energy.

(2) The solar plexus which governs lower emotion. This wing is activated when the emotions no longer have power to dictate actions, but are subject to the Christ consciousness and used to fly to spirit rather than descend to carnal man.

(3) The heart center. This wing is activated when selfish love is replaced by spiritual unselfish love, or the love of Christ.

(4) The throat center. This wing is activated when the seeker learns the principle of right speech and directs his words, thoughts and creativity toward harmlessness and elevating the heart toward service.

(5) The Ajna center – the third eye. This wing is activated when the seeker opens the door of inspiration and brings down divine ideas and principles in a manner that the lower nature can see and understand.

(6) The crown chakra. This final wing is activated when the seeker tunes into and follows a higher will than that possessed by the nature of the beast.

The four different beasts represent four realizations that must be obtained so the wings will have power to ascend the lower consciousness to the throne of God.

(1) The first beast was like a lion – the sign of Leo. This represents the great power of the personality, its powerful ego and pride and its overwhelming desire for happiness.

Necessary realization: The higher can fulfill the lower but the lower cannot fulfill itself. This realization is gained when the seeker submits his lower nature to the higher and understands that this is the path of joy rather than painful sacrifice.

(2) The second beast was like a calf – Taurus. Taurus represents the age of animal sacrifice.

Necessary realization: The animal nature must be sacrificed to the spiritual nature or the Christ consciousness. A sacrifice is, in the end, only an exchange of one thing for another and the idea is to come out ahead in the end. Sacrificing the animal nature is difficult, but the spiritual gain far outweighs the material loss.

(3) The third beast had a face like a man – Aquarius.

Necessary realization: Once the ego and lower desires are under control of spirit then the lower self will be used in the service of humanity.

(4) The fourth beast was like a flying eagle – Scorpio. Scorpio represents laws, principles and events which are set in motion over which we have no control

Necessary realization: After the lower nature is dominated by spirit and the person becomes a servant, he discovers he must work within certain laws and limitations. When he sees his ring-pass-not as it truly is and seeks to expand it, then he soars like the eagle to the throne of God.

Because the ascended four beasts are full of eyes, the disciple can see the past as it truly was, the present as it truly is and the future as it most probably will be.

The last verses of chapter four read:

“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, Rev The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev 4:8-11

Question: What is the significance of the four beasts giving “glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever?” Who or what lives forever?

Why do the 24 elders cast their crowns before the throne?

The Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge

Questions concerning Revelation chapter five:

(1) What did God look like?

(2) What is the meaning of the rainbow?

(3) Who are the 24 Elders? Do you think they are all men? What is the meaning of the crowns of Gold?

First, we are told that God was to “look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”

Now the interesting thing is that exactly what a jasper and sardine stone was 2000 years ago may have been lost to history. Plato mentions these three stones in his writings as very precious and they are mentioned several other times in the scriptures. Later in Revelations we are told that the light of the New Jerusalem “was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” Rev 21:11

Why is this significant?

Because the modern jasper is a dull opaque stone whereas the jasper of revelation was “clear as crystal.” Some scholars think John may have been describing a diamond or something similar. On the other hand, the sardine stone was supposed to be blood red. Scholars believe the emerald of ancient times was similar to the modern emerald.

When John saw God he thus saw a translucent white light contrasted by a deep red and the reflection of a rainbow of colors around the throne that looked like light reflected through an emerald.

There is another mention of the contrast of white and blood red in Rev 7:14 “These (the saints) are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The robes of the saints were made white by being washed in blood. Did John see a correspondence of this symbol in that the Jasper is made clear white through the contrast of the blood red of the sardine stone?

A major point to consider is John does not describe God as a man sitting on a throne, but as lights resting upon and around the throne.

Even so, when the disciple goes within he will discover a door and on the other side of the door he will discover a variety of lights, or God resting upon his throne.

Here is one description that DK gives of the light in the head: “This pathway of light leads to the heart of a dark blue disk at the very centre of which you were told I could be contacted. Those of you who are in any way adept at meditation work know well that the light in the head when seen and recognised passes usually through three stages of intensification:

“a. It is, first of all, a diffused light, surrounding the head, discovered later within the head and producing an inner radiance, which is the rudimentary halo.

“b. This diffused light then consolidates and becomes an inner radiant sun.

“c. Finally, at the centre of that sun, a point of dark blue, or a small indigo disk, appears. This is, in reality, the exit in the head through which the soul passes out of the world of phenomenal existence, and it is the symbol of the path or the door into the kingdom of God. This is the symbolical interpretation of the phenomena.”

In addition he makes another interesting statement: “The human being who has taken the highest of all our planetary initiations is termed “the diamond-souled” the man who can perfectly transmit the pure white light and yet reflect equally all the colours of the rainbow, the seven colours of the chromatic scale. His personality is here called by the same term for it has become a transmitter of the inner light or radiance.”

He also calls the link between the higher and lower self the rainbow bridge. The personality has all the colors of the rainbow which are merged into the one white light of God.

The lower self circulates around the throne of God, but the final light sitting upon the throne is white, clear as crystal.

Round about the throne were 24 Elders. When the scriptures says “elder” we have a tendency to think of a male dominated position, but the word comes from the Greek: PRESBUTEROS which implies old or ancient, These twenty four also sat on thrones, mistranslated as seats.

As we said at the beginning the book is about the unveiling of Jesus Christ and for what was Christ most famous? The first historical human molecule of twelve human units, twelve male with twelve female companions. The twenty-four have thrones as God does because they are extensions of the full consciousness of Christ.

Finally, the crowns of gold symbolize the victory over the lower nature and the ability to maintain soul contact at all times so the molecular order maintains its presence before the throne of God.

Here are the next two voices:

“And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.” Rev 4:5-6

Contemplate as to what the symbols in these verses mean.

The lightenings from the throne or presence of God are flashes of light, intuition and revelation the seeker discovers as he approaches the inner presence.

The thunderings are the inner quaking  that penetrates to the core as one senses the voice of God within.

The voices are the expressed communication the seeker makes as he translates the revelation into words as he teaches his fellowmen the principles he received.

The seven spirits of God are the seven chakras as they apply to the individual.

The Sea of Glass is the highest of the seven planes or the “divine.” On the physical level that which corresponds to this is space itself, whether it be the space which holds the stars or the space within our being.

Whereas space in the physical plane is filled with blackness, space within the divine is filled with light and produces the effect of a sea of glass to the seer.

Now think some more about the meaning of the four beasts and the eyes within.

“„…round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever.” Rev 4:6-9

The most obvious thing of interest here is that these four beasts are symbols of the fixed cross of the zodiac. The first beast was the lion, the symbol of Leo, the second a calf for Taurus, the third a man, a symbol of Aquarius and the fourth a flying eagle, one of the symbols of Scorpio. Each sign of the zodiac is in one of the three crosses: the mutable, the fixed and the cardinal. The fact that all four of these signs are in one cross shows that the astrological connection is no coincidence, but an important message is embedded therein through symbolism.

The meaning of the fixed cross signifies fixed intent, persistence, reliability and firmness – that which can be depended upon.

This gave the early saints three messages: (1) You can depend on God to stand by you, (2) he who endures to the end shall be saved, (3) a symbol of the cross whereon the Son of God was fixed between heaven and earth.

Each of the beasts has six wings. Isaiah calls these beasts Seraphim “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:1-3

Searaphim comes from the Hebrew SARAPH and means “burning or fiery ones.” This is translated as “fiery serpents” in Numbers 21:6 & 8 and as a “fiery flying serpent” in Isaiah 14:29

The fact that these four beasts are associated with serpents (a symbol of wisdom) tells us that there is much wisdom to be gained through an understanding of the fours signs of the fixed cross. The fact that they are fiery before the throne of God is a sign that enlightenment can come through the contemplation of God’s handiwork in the heavens.

The six wings are a symbol of the six worlds of creation with the seventh being the throne of God or the sea of glass. Four wings cover the fiery light and only two are in use which tells us that average humanity cannot see (wings covering the face) or work (wings covering the feet) in the higher worlds. They are limited to two worlds ˆ the physical and emotional. When the “mark of the beast” is removed, two more wings shall be free and cause the seeker to gain greater power of flight to the world of the mind and intuition or higher love.

The four beasts were “full of eyes before and behind.” [ Rev 4:6] “Before” is a symbol of a vision of the future and “behind” a symbol of the past. The beasts speak of that “which was, and is, and is to come.” [ Rev 4:8]

This tells us that when we uncover the secrets of the throne of God (the stars of heaven) that we can decode the secrets of the past, present and future.

This is the destiny of the science of astrology, which is yet in its infancy as far as the general understanding of humanity is concerned.

The Christ Principle

The Christ Principle

Question: Are we searching for the one true interpretation of the Book of Revelation, or are several possible?

JJ: There are always a number of interpretations that apply to any inspired word, but they will harmonize with the Law of Correspondences. Just because someone gives a different explanation does not mean it is true. If the exegesis does not correspond correctly then one may rest assured that it is outright wrong. For every right explanation of Revelation there are a hundred that are incorrect.

Now let us look at the verses under discussion:

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” Rev 4:1-2

Questions:

[1] What is the door which was open in heaven?

A reader responds: “The Mind or Soul Contact.”

This is a good answer. Why?

Because it harmonizes with the theme of the book which is “The unveiling of Jesus Christ”

What does the door in heaven have to do with the Christ?

To understand this we must ask what is the door that lies between heaven and earth, or spirit and matter?

Answer, it is the soul.

And what is the soul?

The soul is the Christ principle itself, the “Mediator between God and man.”

The first great Principle of the vision then is that the key to unlock the door to heaven is to obtain soul contact or find the Christ within.

[2] Why did the first voice sound like a trumpet? What is the meaning of the sound of a trumpet?

A reader tells us that the voice is like a trumpet in that it penetrates us to the core.

There may be some truth to this for the word “trumpet” is from the Greek SALPIGX whose root meaning imply “to shake or disturb.” Another famous scripture using this word has to do with the gathering:

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matt 24:31

The messengers who gather the elect will not sound like a trumpet as the musician playing a musical instrument, but will have a message that penetrates to the core as the sound of a trumpet.

Remember one of the purposes of the sound of a trumpet is to serve as a wakeup call for troops, possibly going to battle. The sound of the spiritual trumpet wakes us up to the spiritual battle we must fight so the Christ nature can overcome our earthly nature.

The sound of a trumpet in this scripture in Revelation is obviously not a musical instrument but we are told that it is a voice that is speaking to John saying:

“Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”

In other words, the sound of the trumpet signifies that John was awakened to the fact that something of great importance laid before him and he needed to pay attention.

[3] What is the throne set in heaven?

The throne of God can apply to three situations.

(A) The Solar Logos (the life of the Sun) surrounded by the seven sacred planets.

(B) The Planetary Logos, The ancient of Days in the midst of the seven planetary centers.

(C) The Center between the eyebrows wherein we find the inner God in the midst of the seven centers of the human being.

The verse ends with “And one sat on the throne.”

He who sits upon the throne between the eyebrows is the inner Christ which is master over your lower nature and reigns supreme with no one to challenge him.

The next three verses read:

“And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.” Rev 4:3-4

Questions:

(1) What did God look like?

(2) What is the meaning of the rainbow?

(3) Who are the 24 Elders? Do you think they are all men? What is the meaning of the crowns of Gold?

Reader question: Studying the Book of Revelation causes the number 666 to come to mind. I have heard it refers to money. What do you think?

The idea that it refers to money comes from I Kings 10:14 Which reads: “Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.”

Because this number (666) seems to be synchronously associated with money then some associate the number and the beast with money.

There are several things that does not fit the Law of Correspondences when this interpretation is used.

First, to say that no one can buy or sell unless he has money is about as big of a revelation as saying that no one can breathe unless he has air. If the answer were this simplistic then air could also be the answer for no one can buy or sell unless he first breaths air to stay alive.

Secondly, the mark of the beast is presented as negative thing to receive. Money, like air, is neither good nor bad. Just as we breath air and can use the energy for good or evil even so it is with money. Money can feed the hungry, help the sick and help to bring happiness if used correctly.

One can say that no one has ever been able to buy or sell without money, not only in the age of the beast, but all ages, especially when you consider that even barter is a form of exchanging money.

When a true interpretation of the mark is given it will strike a chord within and seeing it as an outer authority does indeed strike that chord.

In Revelation chapters 13 and 14 two types of authority are portrayed.

(1) An imposed outer authority controlling the mind (mark in the forehead) and the labor (mark in the right hand) of subjects. (2) The inner authority signified by the name of the Father in the head of those who have escaped the mark (Rev 14:1).

Unlike money, which can be used for good, unearned outer authority always has a negative result, leading the seeker further into illusion. Redemption from this mark is always the same which is to find the name of the God within and receive verification from this inner authority rather than the outer.

As far as I know I am the first to teach this interpretation of the mark, but the interesting thing is as soon as people see how it corresponds that they immediately accept it. I believe the day will come that this will become the most accepted interpretation just because it makes so much sense.

What I have given here is small part of what I have written on the subject, but we covered the beast in detail in my first 100 or so posts. Those who have an interest may want to go to the archives and read the applicable posts.

Unveiling Revelation

Unveiling Revelation

Time for a new venture my friends.

Several times over the past few years have readers expressed an interest in unlocking more of the secrets of the Apocalypse, or the Book of Revelation. When we first started the Keys we spent several months on the most mysterious of all scripture which was Chapter Thirteen of the book dealing with the Beast and the antichrist. This continues to this day to be among my most quoted writings delivering interpretations found nowhere else, except as they have been placed in circulation since that time.

Now we will go through the rest of the vision of John and again instead of taking orthodox interpretation we shall search for the real meaning behind the symbols. This may take a while to complete, but when done we should have plenty of material for a book or two and hopefully, we can shed light where before there were only shades of gray.

The first three chapters are not part of the Great vision, but are messages to the seven churches at that time. Even these are more interesting than meets the eye, but for the sake of brevity we shall skip over them at this time, except for the first three verses of the first chapter which applies to the book as a whole and reads:

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” Rev 1:1-3

There are several interesting statements here that are ignored by many commentators.

(1) The book is a “Revelation of Jesus Christ.”

“Revelation” here comes from the Greek APOKALUPSIS. Does this Greek word look a little familiar? It should for it is the word from which “Apocalypse” is derived. The book is sometimes called the Book of Revelation and sometimes The Apocalypse, but in reality the name is the same. “Apocalypse” is the Greek rendition and “Revelation” the English of the same word.

Let us examine the word a little more carefully. APOKALUPSIS is translated in a variety of ways including, “revelation, be revealed, to lighten, manifestation, coming and appearing.” It is derived from the Greek APOKALUPTO which means “to take off the cover.” This is perhaps the reason the Concordant version translates the word as “unveiling.” In fact, their translation does not name the book Revelation or the Apocalypse, but “The Unveiling of Jesus Christ.” Unveiling has a deeper meaning than the word revelation. A revelation of Jesus Christ could occur by having a short vision and seeing his image. But an unveiling is a different story. A short vision could not do this. To unveil Jesus Christ would imply the revealing of his mystery, layer after layer until there is a full understanding of the light received.

I therefore, submit that the purpose of the book is much more than a mere revelation that there is such a being as the Christ, but that there is an unfolding of a mystery like the unfolding of a flower by the power of the light of the Sun.

Keep this thought in mind as we proceed.

(2) John was shown things “which must shortly come to pass.”

This seems to be an odd statement indeed when almost 2000 years has passed since it was written and most believe that the events have still not come to pass. Where is the great comet striking the earth? Where is the antichrist and where are the waters that are turned to blood etc? 2000 years is not a short time by any human standard, yet the scripture says these things would shortly come to pass.

Now note the end of verse three:

“the time is at hand.”

Not only is the time short, but the time is at hand. Is it possible that all predictions within the book have already happened, or perhaps they repeat themselves on a cyclic nature? This is a good question to keep in mind as we examine the text.

(3) “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” Verse 3

Thus is a very interesting statement. Why?

Because most people who read the book do not feel blessed. Many feel almost cursed with fear instead because of all the calamities predicted there. How can you feel blessed when you feel that a good portion of the earth may be destroyed and many loved ones will suffer great calamities?

Or is it possible the book is misunderstood, that the real purpose is to unveil Jesus Christ and such an unveiling will bring a blessing and not a curse?

Keep this thought in mind as we move forward.

Now let us go to the first part of the vision:

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” Rev 4:1-2

The first thing you might want to do is to get an overview of chapter four and read the whole thing.

For purposes of interpretation forget the literal vision and whether or not John saw images with a real existence. Instead remember this one important point. All form, real or imagined, represents a real inner truth that can enlighten the understanding.

Questions:

(1) What is the door which was open in heaven?

(2) Why did the first voice sound like a trumpet? What is the meaning of the sound of a trumpet?

(3) What is the throne set in heaven?

The Dividing Line

The Dividing Line

Question:  What is the Middle Way of truth here? Does the Spiritual worker have a right to charge for his service? Are there times when he should not charge? What is the principle that must be followed?

This is a subject that has caused a lot of thought from the sincere spiritual workers. Of course, the insincere do not put much thought into it at all, for many of them are in the work for the money and merely charge all they can get away with. These represent one extreme.

The other extreme sounds righteous, but may be more damaging than being greedy. And what is that?

It is that extreme that does not dare charge for any spiritual work, thinking that it will offend God. The problem with the person on this extreme is that he often develops a glamor around his spiritual superiority because he is not contaminated with money and often this sense of superiority hinders spiritual progress more than any other item. This superiority will not only hinder the progress of the individual involved but such a one will often preach his doctrine of supposed unselfishness so far and wide that he either annoys or produces guilt in many others.

If a vow of poverty causes the worker to see himself as separated or better than his brethren then the vow is useless.

Another problem with spiritual work, either healing, teaching, counseling etc., is that many people place it in a different category than being a plumber, electrician or a standard service of the trade. They think it is fine for the plumber to charge, but unacceptable for the teacher or healer.

Standard teachers (schoolteachers) and healers (medical Doctors, Chiropractors) charge all the time and no one thinks a thing of it, but the spiritual worker is often criticized for charging even a small amount.

The reason given is that true spiritual teachings and healing come from God and should be given out free.

Actually, all things come from God. The new piece of pipe installed by your plumber has elements from God’s earth. Does this mean that he should not charge?

Without that mysterious energy God has supplied called electricity the electrician would be useless. Should he not charge because God supplies the power?

What is the dividing line here? Maybe we should first ask this. Is there a dividing line?

There are several points to look at here.

First let me give you my view as to where the line should be.

I think it is fine to charge for any service, spiritual or non-spiritual if the worker had to make an effort to develop a skill of some kind, be it a skill in carpentry, in medicine or in teaching.

On the other hand, if the person is relying on a power above and beyond anything related to his own ability then he should not charge.

For instance, I have never charged for healing where I have sought help from the spirit or intelligence much higher than my own. If I were to do this the money would be my reward. By not charging, spiritual sensitivity is increased.

I feel that I have an obligation to make spiritual teachings I receive from intelligence higher than myself available to all, no matter what their financial condition, but in promoting such there are expenses such as advertising, publishing, overhead, room rentals etc. It takes money to make anything work.

Some get around the guilt thing and still make money by asking for donations. I’ve gone to different events where there is a sign at the entrance that says something like “Donation $10 please.”

In many cases I feel just as obligated to pay the donation as I would to pay a stated fee. I see very little difference here. Whether it is an expected donation or an expected fee, money changes hands and there is a charge.

If a church wants 10% of your money so you can be in good standing and have privileges and a country club demands a similar payment for their privileges what is the difference?

Not much.

If you are depending on your own skills then I cannot see the difference between charging for healing, teaching or yard work.

If you want to accumulate good karma then give some of your services away free. Again, this matters not whether you are a painter or a minister. Service is service and help is help – all is spiritual.

One thing I think we should all avoid is this. To judge another because he charges money for his talent. This can cause a feeling of elitism to set in like no other and can hurt us through glamours much more than the money will taint the worker getting paid for service.

Each of us must decide for ourselves what we must do and leave the guidance of others to their own souls.

The sons of men are one, and I am one with them. I seek to love, not hate;

I seek to serve and not exact due service; I seek to heal, not hurt.

Let pain bring due reward of light and love. Let the soul control the outer form,

And life, and all events,

And bring to light the Love

That underlies the happenings of the time.

Let vision come and insight.

Let the future stand revealed.

Let inner union demonstrate and outer cleavages be gone. Let love prevail.

Let all men love. DK

The Importance of Watching

The Importance of Watching

Question: What will it take to recognize the Christ when he reappears. Will having intuition and soul contact be enough?

Having a higher consciousness will certainly be a plus in recognizing the Christ when he reappears, but this alone will not be enough to ensure success.

There is one more ingredient that is essential for people of all states of progression. The key was given by Jesus in the Scriptures.

“Watch, therefore: for ye know not what hour your lord doeth come.” Matt 24:42

“Watch” comes from the Greek GREGORENO which means to “be awake” or “to be aware.” The Lord’s servants were often called “watchmen.” Why?

Because a true servant does more than reach the higher planes. Instead, he will watch for the signs of the times, for ways to help his brethren and, most of all, the words of the Spirit through the still small voice so he can recognize the voice and presence of his master.

It is interesting that many of the most intelligent can be “caught unawares” to the point where they will miss many great spiritual opportunities and possibly the presence of Christ himself.

Forget where you are on the totem pole and apply this one principle of watching. If you do this one thing, to watch and be aware, or, in other words, apply the principle of focused attention to the presence of Christ then you have a good chance of recognizing him when he manifests.

Question: Can you elaborate on your idea that all things can be expressed in words?

Yes, I stand by my statement that all things which are true can be expressed in words. In fact, creation begins in the formless worlds by the distillation of the ideas and energy into form. When creation descends into form it does so through the power of a word. The vibrating creation is a word which is an expression of the invisible formless planes.

Now putting an explanation of the higher planes in regular language words is more difficult than merely looking at something and describing it. The reason is that almost all words we speak circle around a physical form of some kind.

Even so, I have done a lot of thinking about it and have put into words teachings of the higher planes. There is a drawback, however as words, as we understand them, (somewhat different from the soul) are symbols representing ideas and lose some of their purity when translated by the lower mind.

In the last section posted from the Reappearance DK makes the point that it seems easy to raise large sums of money for orthodox organizations such as the Red Cross, hospital, educational institutions etc, but very difficult to raise money for more enlightened forward-thinking ideas.

This principle also applies to religion. The standard religions raise large sums of money, but anyone presenting advanced spiritual ideas has a very difficult time, many of them living in hand-to-mouth conditions.

Question: Why is this, and what can be done about it?

We’ve received some good feedback on this, too much material to comment on it all.

I particularly thought these comments hit the mark:

“In the end, I think this all boils down to the principle of freedom. We have freedom now but what kind of freedom? A corrupted freedom. The counterfeit always guarantees the true. The Beast puts it own slant on freedom at tries to redirected towards its own purposes. The principle of corruption is the principle of directed purpose in reverse where true freedom is substituted by fear?

“The Beast IMO, is afraid to let go of control over people and money. It is funny that it says on the U.S. currency in God we Trust. People Trust the authorities because nothing “bad” is overtly happening and are therefore “proven” authorities. People simply do not see the benefits of leaving the old system behind.”

JJ: This is an interesting twist – that people are reluctant to give to advanced or forward-thinking ideas because of the pull of the Beast, or the demand to follow the outer authority rather than the inner.

People feel comfortable giving to that which is approved by the authorities in their life whether they be religious, political educational etc. But if something new surfaces which is condemned by outward authority people are hesitant to give, not because of lack of money, but because of lack of approval.

Among those who are presenting what they believe to be forward thinking ideas are two categories.

(1) Those with bad ideas that may sound good but are not workable in the near future.

Most of the promoters in this category live hand-to-mouth, ever preaching and never getting much support. Once in a while, a real promoter will come along with a bad idea and sell it well so he has money for a time, but then loses it all in the end.

Most of those in this category are the impractical dreamers who find it more exciting to dream and plan than to do the nuts and bolts work necessary to get the job done.

(2) Those with good practical ideas, but that have not been proved workable in the real world.

A good idea which is workable, but not yet demonstrated is not yet under the control of the Beast. Why?

Because the Beast can only uses its powerful outer authority on that which is already manifest. The unmanifested puzzles the Beast and he knows not what to do with it except fight against it.

True seekers must discern between good and bad ideas by registering the principles behind them with their own souls. If he finds a good idea or teaching which will benefit the world then he is doing the world a service by throwing his support behind it.

Another major problem with raising funds for true spiritual ideas is this. Many of those who are sensitive enough to recognize the need have not felt the need themselves to acquire more money than is needed to pay the bills. Many seekers sacrifice money for free time and the freedom to place their attention on spiritual endeavors. Other seekers have their own ideas they are working with and will wish other spiritual ideas Godspeed, but give no money.

The final problem boils down to this. Many of those sensitive enough to recognize avant-garde thinking have few financial resources to help it materialize.

Part of the reason for this is the carry-over of the Piscean age idea of sacrifice in its negative ramifications. In the dawning age of Aquarius, service is the keynote and to serve and be recompensed for that service is the key to raising funds in the new age.

Another thing that causes problems for spiritual workers is the fact of taking money at all. Some quote Jesus who said “freely I have received and freely I give.” Some of these refuse to take any money for their service.

Others quote Paul who said “the laborer is worthy of his hire” and say it is as legitimate to charge money for spiritual work as for any other kind.

Question: What is the Middle Way of truth here? Does the Spiritual worker have a right to charge for his service? Are there times when he should not charge? What is the principle that must be followed?

“A long time ago,
the universe was made of ice.
Then one day
the ice began to melt,
and a midst rose into the sky.
Out of the midst
came a giant made of frost,
and the earth and the heavens
were made from his body.
That is how the world began,
and that is how the world will end,
not by fire
but by ice.
The seas will freeze
and winters will never end.”

The City on the Sea

The City on the Sea

A reader made some comments about a future city on the sea, which is among my predictions, stating that it looks like it would come under UN jurisdiction because of new regulations proposed.

From my reading of the UN site it sounds like their control would be strongest over the resources of the sea itself rather than commerce upon the them.

Problems with the powers-that-be have been anticipated and there will be a way around them. There will be a great chess game played out between light and dark forces.

Earlier was mentioned the hazards of gathering upon the sea. Actually, there are potential hazards anywhere the lights will gather, but several things will minimize them.

The cities will be moveable so they can move out of the way of dangerous storms.

Secondly, bad weather is stimulated by stormy astral emotions and if we truly gather the lights the weather will be better than normal in the gathering places. This is one reason the scripture says that in the last days only the righteous will be safe upon the waters.

Thirdly, a city upon the sea would be out of reach of many who would oppose us giving a breathing space to prepare for larger problems.

Question: When a city has really bad stormy weather is that because the astral emotions of most people in the city are also stormy, and is this cyclic also?

JJ: Just as good health and ill health have several influences causing them so does the weather.

Here are several causes of various weather conditions.

(1) The standard ones recognized by scientists. A few of them are:

(a) The seasons.

(b) The make-up of the atmosphere

(c) The temperature and evaporation rate of the earths oceans and waters.

(d) The earth’s magnetic field

(e) Volcanic activity in the oceans and the land.

(f) Cyclic earth and climate changes

(2) The second main reason is not recognized by standard science which is: The influence of human thought and emotion. Human energy is, at present, not the prime cause of weather, but it is an influence and this influence is much larger than most spiritual students realize. When humanity realizes their influence and the powers they have then damage from storms will come under much greater control of the human race and damage from such will be minimized.

The effect of human thought and emotion is often externalized through symbols manifested in our physical reality. Let us look at a few. Consider a few climate anomalies. Most prominent at this time (Feb 2005) are the floods and record precipitation in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area. What does the symbolism teach us in this instance?

Water represents emotion and an overwhelming amount of water tells us that this area has been experiencing a flood of emotion.

Now the question is this: Is it positive or negative emotion? To determine this let us look at the effects. The effects are negative for many people are losing their homes and everything that is dear to them. Even those who have not lost their homes are downcast and depressed and are worrying about the future.

What has happened in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area that corresponds to this?

Answer: the Hollywood/Los Angeles area was extremely anti Bush and most there really felt that Kerry would win the election. When Bush won, the vast majority in that area felt very downcast and experienced very negative and overwhelming emotions. Some even went for therapy over their feelings. Just like many who experienced irreparable damage to their homes those who felt overwhelming emotion over the election of Bush felt like they lost everything and were very worried about their future.

Now let us look at other areas where we have had large amounts of moisture since the election. From Canada came record snowstorms that covered Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York and the Northeast. Hardest hit was Massachusetts. What’s significant about these states and Canada? They are all blue states that voted for Kerry and Canada has been very chilly toward Bush. What’s extra significant about Massachusetts? It’s Kerry’s home state, often seen as the most Democratic state in the country.

Interestingly, what is the most Republican state in the Country?

Idaho. And the interesting thing is we have the opposite problem and have had a record lack of snow. It’s been like spring and summer all year long here.

What then is the symbology behind record snowfalls in the blue states? Since snow is composed of water it is much the same as the problem in Los Angeles. The fact that it materialized as snow adds a chill factor to their emotional feelings about Bush. The folks in the Northeast are experiencing more of an emotional chill than depression over the Republican victory. That said, when the situation is reversed in the future look for the red states to suffer bad weather associated with their feelings.

What other part of the world suffered depression over water? The most famous in years was the recent Tsunami caused by an earthquake in Indonesia.

The earthquake came first. What does this symbolize?

An earthquake tears apart the very foundation under our feet. This symbolizes that people are too set in their ways and need to have their foundations shattered and replaced. In this case the earthquake was followed by an overwhelming wave of destruction and death.

The great wave shows that the people have strong emotional feelings against change and when it comes it seems as bad as death.

Now most of the people effected were Muslims very set in their ways. Many in that area see any change in their way of living or civilization as shattering the foundation upon which they stand and would rather die than to face the resulting changes.

Who else has had earthquakes lately?

Iran has had two of powerful ones within a few months. The leaders there have been very resistant to changes, but many young people have been hoping for change and even hoping the United States would intervene. Consequently, nature intervened and has shaken the foundation of that country, especially when western nations came in to offer disaster aid.

Question: Do you see such a city happening in say, our (as in all of us here on the keys) lifetime?

JJ: The gathering with intent to build cities should be underway within 25 years, but hopefully sooner. Many alive now will be reborn at a future time to see the full benefits of the Gathering.

Question: Will there be an ice-age because of the astral emotions of humanity?

JJ: An ice age is mostly due to cycles within the earth, but the timing of its beginning is influenced by human thought and emotion. There will be some unusual changes and earth events over the next few decades but the big earth changes are over 100 years in the future.

Question: Destructive weather we have not discussed has been hurricanes. What does the symbolism behind these reveal? What does it mean that some areas get them periodically and others do not?

We received interesting comments on this. I should have also mentioned tornadoes for I’m sure they fall in a similar category esoterically.

First, someone (I don’t recall who) stated that there were storms before humans were on the earth as an indication that humans are not the cause. This may be true and, of course, there are storms on all planets with an atmosphere whether they have intelligent life or not.

This, however, does not contradict anything I have said on the subject. I never said that humans were the single cause of storms, but listed accepted scientific causes at the beginning of this subject. Instead of humans being the cause they are instead a powerful influence, which influences the timing, location and potency of storms.

For instance, if Kerry would have won the election it is quite possible that instead of record precipitation in the Los Angeles area and clear skies in Republican Idaho the situation would have been reversed.

Incidentally, it looks as if the blue states have not transcended their cloudy attitude for the northeastern states are being hit again with record snowstorms.

Overall though hurricanes and tornadoes seem to strike the red states more than the blue states. What is interesting is the type of red states that suffer. They seem to fall into two categories.

(1) Rigidly religious areas

(2) Retirement areas.

What do these two have in common? Basically they are both resistant to change and new ways of thinking.

Reader Comment: As far as hurricanes go-doesn’t air represent mind and thought? If that’s true then I would have to conclude something is happening in the mind of a population which is causing hurricane formation and/or attraction.

JJ: The hurricane would indeed be largely connected with the mind as air is its symbol. Hurricanes are attracted to areas where thinking and mental flexibility has stagnated. The hurricane comes in and forces change with a vengeance.

As most know, the eye of the hurricane is an extremely peaceful center. This tells us that in the midst of turbulence and change that we too can be at peace if we stand in the center of our being, move with the energy and accept the inevitable.

There is one more influence on the weather on this and other planets and that is the fact that planets themselves are living entities and storms are an expression of their emotional nature.

Reasoning Prevails

Reasoning Prevails

Question: As the people in the churches begin to think for themselves and use logic and reasoning which teachings will they reject?

Which ones will they continue to embrace?

Here are some beliefs put forward that some thought would be abandoned.

(1) The idea of dying and ending up in a place of torment and fire for eternity.

(2) The idea that your religion/belief system is the only right one and everyone else will be condemned to hell.

(3) The idea that the Bible is the pure, unadulterated Word of God and should be read and believed literally.

(4) The idea that there are no truths in other religions and their holy books.

(5) People will come around to accepting reincarnation

(6) People will embrace the teachings on love in every religion and thus lay the foundation for right human relations.

JJ: This black and white literal interpretation of the scriptures that was mentioned is particularly harmful. It is as DK teaches that evil is a distortion of a divine idea or a thing that we would normally call good.

The scriptures of the world have divine ideas and are seen as good writings, but a misapplication of them can be the cause of much evil. In fact, this is the cause of perhaps the greatest evil we face in this age, which is terrorism. Most of these terrorists sincerely study their scriptures and take admonitions that were meant for another age and strictly apply them to our time. This just does not work. “The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life” is one scripture that perhaps we ought to take literally.

A too literal interpretation not only leads to harmful actions, but also to illusionary thought that must be dispelled. Here are a few.

Ancient man believed that the earth was the center of the universe and even the sun circles around it. This illusion has not been completely dispelled, for many still believe this to an extent. Many religious people believe that earth is the only planet with life.

Most Christians believe that Jesus is the Savior of the whole universe. Logic will eventually sway religious thinking toward the idea that many worlds are inhabited and others with human life have messiahs of their own.

Many religious as well as new age people believe the earth is the most important planet in the galaxy or universe. Reason will eventually lead them to conclude that our planet is no more important in the galaxy than we as individuals are in relation to the whole earth.

The idea that the earth or the Universe is 6-10,000 years old will be dropped and replaced with the best scientific estimates.

Being too judgmental in a negative sense will be replaced with right human relations governed by empathy.

The idea that we turn all things over to God will be replaced with a greater sense of self responsibility will at the same time reaching a higher spiritual contact.

The outer authority of God will be replaced by the inner authority of the God within.

Judging evil because words used are not spiritually or politically correct will be replaced with judging good or evil by whether it really produces good or harm.

Readers  pointed out that not only is the Bible interpreted incorrectly in many cases but it also has some text  that isa  not literally true.

Overall, I look for truth rather than the error. This does not mean that the error is not there for the Bible was not written by the finger of God, but by human beings with flaws like you and I.

Some of the teachings in the Bible represented the morality of a past age, but not today. For instance, after a victory the Israelites of the Old Testament were told by God to kill all the men and take the women as slaves. If a child misbehaved the parent was allowed to put him to death. If a citizen was found working on the Sabbath he was to be put to death.

We have moved beyond these draconian methods, yet many believe that they were given by the voice of a perfect God.

In the New Testament Paul stated that women were not to speak in meetings, and to keep their heads covered.

Thinking people today (even Christians) see no reason to follow this injunction.

When reading the Bible it becomes obvious that the disciples were a lot like many believers are today in that they believed the end of the world was just around the corner.

Paul said: “The appointed time has grown very short; from now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none.” I Cor 7:29

Paul seemed to think the end was near and thought it best that no one have children. This is not something we want to take literally today.

Paul further illustrates that he expected the end within his lifetime: “We who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord…” I Thess 4:15

Peter said, “The end of all things is at hand.” I Peter 4:7 and even the inspired Book of Revelations says that it reveals events which “must soon take place.” Rev 1:1 2000 years later most of the events have still not come to pass on a literal basis.

If we realize that those disciples were like people today then these mistakes can be understood. No one wants to predict the glorious new age as being 2000 years away, but we want to see our salvation as just around the corner. Who among us is making predictions about the year 4000? Virtually, no one. Even so, the disciples in Jesus’ day were hoping for a glorious return in the near future.

A reader makes a good point about the virtues of the Bible despite its flaws:

“But none of this takes away from the true principles which are taught in the Bible, and which can be found by beginning and advanced disciples, alike. And if we are reading for the Bible searching for truths instead of searching for mistakes, we will find the truths. The roses amongst the thorns, as it were.”

Another reader advises: “If you wish to debate a Christian, never, ever, claim the bible contains any error.”

JJ: This is good advice and I’m sure you meant it to be taken or left as the reader sees fit.

I have indeed found through experience that when you tell a believer that his very foundation is wrong that he will become very defensive. Yes, it is good to see the scriptures through his eyes and work with what he has. I have also found that just teaching truth, without offering criticism of the seeker’s belief system, is attractive to many and eventually something will come to them that will transform them.

You can debate a believer on his own turf even if you know nothing of the Bible or whatever it is he is studying. Just have him read some of his favorite teachings and use your common sense to put new light upon them. Your viewpoint may open his eyes to something new.

I realize, of course, that you have to teach a lot of people before even one will make an effort to see a new light.

Question: Has someone ever spoken or taught just the right thing to you that made you wake up to a higher truth? Tell us about it.

Or

Has there ever been a time that you said just the right thing to turn someone else’s life around or bring them to a higher vision?

Spiritual Revival?

Spiritual Revival?

DK makes an odd comment at the beginning of chapter six in the Reappearance. He states:

“The fact still remains that human beings everywhere are searching for spiritual release and truth, and that the truly religious spirit is more fundamentally alive than at any previous time. This is especially true of those countries which have suffered the most in the late world war (1914-1945). Countries, such as the United States and the neutral countries show, as yet, no sign of any real spiritual revival.” Reappearance of the Christ, Page 137

One of the few things that DK says that does not register correctly with me is his negative remarks against the United States that seem to have little foundation.

Here he is saying that the nations most effected by the war, which would be England, Russia, Europe and Japan “are searching for spiritual release and truth, and that the truly religious spirit is more fundamentally alive than at any previous time.” This he says does not apply to the United States.

I do not mind a realistic criticism of my country and can offer a lot myself, but I see little evidence that DK speaks correctly here.

Let us examine these countries that were supposed to have a spiritual revival.

(1) Russia. After DK wrote this Russia spent over forty years living in tyranny with little or no religious or spiritual freedom. I do not see much evidence of a spiritual revival that went on there. I believe one will come in the future, but there didn’t seem to be much going on in the last century.

(2) England. I have some personal experience here. I spent two years teaching the English people (from 1964-66) and personally had discussions with about 5000 of them on an individual basis. I loved the people there and still have fond feelings for them, but it did seem to me that very few were searching for any spiritual center. A smaller percentage seemed to want to talk about spiritual values than people in the United States. They seemed more bound to their church doctrines than they do here, even though fewer go to church.

One thing that surprised me about them was how superstitious they are for such a civilized country, much more so than the U.S. population.

(3) Europe. I have talked to quite a few who have traveled and taught in Europe and the consensus seems to be that England is about twice as enlightened or open minded as most European Countries.

As of 2005 only about 70% of Western Europe believe in God as a creator while 87% of those in the U.S. do. 96% of U.S. residents have some type of belief in God which is the highest in the world. While this is not an ironclad criteria, a belief in a higher power is essential to any spiritual revival of which DK speaks.

Over half of U.S. residents believe in a life after death whereas in Europe the percentage is about half this much. Residents of the U.S. are twice as likely to believe in the possibility of miracles as England or Europe.

(4) Japan. Only about half of the Japanese believe in God. I do not have much knowledge of the Japanese people, but have not heard much about any spiritual revival or spiritual teachings for the world coming from that country.

Another interesting point is that the two spiritual works that are acknowledged by DK as coming from the Masters originated in the United States – Theosophy and the work of Alice A. Bailey. Lucis Trust maintains its headquarters today in New York City. If the U.S. is so backward spiritually, it makes little sense for the Masters to use it as a base to launch spiritual teachings.

I see the problem from a different view from DK. I think there is a lack of spiritual aspiration all over the world, including the United States, but of the little that does exist it appears the U.S. is as great a source of light as any other nation.

On the negative side we may be more attached to the material side than many other nations, but I see the main reason for this is that we have more in material goods. The more treasure you have, the more value you put on it. Other nations are also attached to what they have.

One definite spiritual benefit of the war for all involved is that it did case many people to reflect on what is really important in life.

It would be interesting to have DK explain himself on this issue when he speaks again.

Belief and Thought

In response to my comments, Sharón tells us that she has traveled in Russia and feels that true seekers are on the increase there.

I might add that DK made a prediction that a great new religion would come out of Russia which would imply a great increase in spiritual intensity sometime in the near future.

A reader comments: “You used the standards of revival in this country as: belief in God, belief in the afterlife, belief in miracles.

“There is nothing spiritual about mere belief which does not lead to knowledge and demonstrated spirituality which plays out in the real world.”

JJ: I was not saying there was a spiritual revival in this or any other country. Worldwide there seems to be a steadily growing interest in true spiritual values, but I don’t know if I would say there is a true spiritual revival anywhere.

I did indicate that belief in God, the afterlife, miracles etc are an indication that a nation has spiritual values. I did not say that belief alone is an indication of high spiritual evolution.

Even though belief is not the be-all end-all, it is an important first step. Who is there without a belief in a Higher Power who has spearheaded a spiritual revolution or innovative teaching that has helped humanity? Who is there that has not believed in miracles who has done the miraculous? Or who is there that does not believe in life after death who seeks to live to experience a joyous future many years hence?

Even though belief alone does not make a spiritual person it is one of the ingredients. There is far too much doubt in the world and too many are expecting negative things to happen to humanity as well as themselves, rather than the good.

Most of the comment made in my last response on the Reappearance were pretty self-explanatory. There was one more statement of interest I will emphasize however:

“There is, however, no point in attacking Christianity. Christianity cannot be attacked; it is an expression-in essence, if not yet entirely factual-of the love of God, immanent in His created universe. Churchianity has, however, laid itself wide open to attack, and the mass of thinking people are aware of this; unfortunately, these thinking people are still a small minority. Nevertheless, it is this thinking minority which (when it is a majority and it is today a rapidly growing one) will spell the doom of the churches and endorse the spread of the true teaching of the Christ.” Page 140

In other words, he is saying that as people in the churches learn to think and use their logic they will reject Christianity as it is and begin to recognize the true teachings of Christ, or true Christianity.

Question: As the people in the churches begin to think for themselves and use logic and reasoning which teachings will they reject?

Which ones will they continue to embrace?

Question: Would you comment on the relation of the astral plane to the mental and the etheric to the physical? Do they both correspond in the same way?

The astral plane is created through an interplay of the mental and etheric planes. When humankind began to generate desire, the matter of the astral plane began to accumulate and has been developing for millions of years. The etheric does create a plane below it (in connection with the higher planes) and this is the dense physical which we are now in.

Question: Do the seven chakras correspond to the seven planes and where does the  astral fit in?

The main correspondence between the seven chakras and the seven planes is the fact of the reoccurrence of seven divisions. Remember, correspondences are rarely exact. The first chakra does not exactly correspond to the first plane and the second to the second and so on.

The first chakra (counting from the lower, upwards) is an originating source of power usually associated with the fourth ray, but sometimes the seventh or even the first depending on the situation and the evolution of the person. If I had to link this with a plane I would associate it with the Monad, our originating point.

The second chakra is the Sacral Center is usually associated with the seventh ray and is most closely linked with the physical plane.

The third chakra is the Solar Plexus is always on the sixth ray. This is most closely linked to the astral plane. When the astral plane dissipates the solar plexus will remain for the registration of reflected true feelings.

The fourth is the Heart Center and is linked with the higher mind and the Buddhic plane. The Masters compose the Heart Center of the Earth.

The fifth plane is the Throat Center, is on Ray Three and is linked to the lower mind. Humanity represents the throat center of the planet.

The sixth enter is the Ajna, the center between the eyes and is associated with the Buddhic plane and for the evolved disciple can see into the Atmic plane and sometimes higher.

The seventh chakra is at the top of the head which is linked with what is called the upper Triad of Atma-Buddhi-Mannas, or the upper mental, intuitional and the Atma/Spiritual plane.

Question: Are light and love eternal or are they created with a beginning and end?

Purpose is always eternally in existence because it does not depend on time and space for its perpetuation. Light and Love, as we understand them, are only in existence about half the time. When creation folds up in the great pralaya, light and love no longer exist in form, but continue as ideas in the mind of God. But then when a new universe is born they incarnate again.

Light and Love are eternal in the fact that they keep reoccurring forever. They are not eternal (as is Purpose) in the fact that they are out of existence when the universe dies and goes out of incarnation, but Purpose remains with light and love embraced therein.

The idea in the mind of God of light and love are eternal, but in manifestation they have beginnings and endings.

Question: You also said that love is a male energy and light is a female energy, but light being radiant, visible and sending seems masculine. While love is unseen and attractive like gravity which you said is a female energy. What is what and why?

JJ: Here is the quote from the Molecular Relationship you must be referring to: “Male and female bodies are only symbols of male and female energies. The male energy is a correspondence to the energy of Love, or the Son aspect. The female energy corresponds to Light, the Holy Ghost, or Mother aspect. These correspondences can be reversed if other vantage points are used.”

What is male and female is relative to their position and how a particular energy is applied.

From our plane Love is generally female/magnetic and Light is male/radiant. But from other planes and situations the roles may be reversed. In the ancient writings the Holy Spirit, which is associated with Light, is called female. This is because it represents a magnetic light rather than a radiant light. It is a light that brings understanding through reflection.

Love has an active, initiating side which can manifest as male energy.

For general purposes it is best to think of Love as female and Light as male unless otherwise noted.

In this plane we have the three aspects manifest as the numbers 1, 2 and 3. 1 and 3 are male and 2 is female. But on other planes the polarity is reversed and the female dominates. In the etheric plane the female energy dominates in the deva kingdom.

Question: I’m open to whatever is next for me. Isn’t there a way to begin to and consistently learn through joy rather than pain? Is there a key to this? Or is it no pain no gain? Sounds like choosing hard, can’t we choose easy? If so what’s the key?

JJ: Most pain is caused by resistance to the soul or spirit. The key to making things easier is to tune into the soul and follow the direction which is given. When it is not followed pain will always follow. Before the seeker is able to do follow the Inner Voice, however, he will suffer many times for either not tuning in correctly, or ignoring the it.

When he is one with the soul that which is painful to others is not painful to him, but will have a continued sense of inner peace.

You will note that the only pain expressed by Jesus was when he temporarily resisted his Father’s will just before the crucifixion. The more evolved the entity the stronger will be the pain of resistance to his Source.
