More on 666

More on 666

I wrote a little about 616 some time ago but have done some more thinking. Here’s some more food for thought.

666, the most notorious and feared number of all time has been challenged recently by 616.

It has been known all along that the number of the Beast has been written as 616 in some manuscripts and this fact is footnoted in some Bibles. But now some real weight is added to this by the translation of papyri found in an historic dump outside Oxyrhynchus in Egypt. In this Oxyrhynchus papyri the number of the Beast clearly reads as 616. Now what makes this significant is this papyri is around 100 years older than the previous oldest copy of the Book of Revelation. In other words, it is the oldest known fragment of John’s book on the face of the earth.

Some scriptural manuscripts have one number and some the other but the majority have used 666. To add to the confusion some manuscripts have 666 crossed out and 616 added in. Until now translators have gone with 666 in their translation of the Book of Revelation but the fact that the Oxyrhynchus papyri reads 616 and predates 666 by 100 years will make future scholars think twice, even though 666 has a better more ominous ring to it than 616. 616 sounds more like an area code than the mark of the devil.

The question arises as to why the number of the Beast has fluctuated between 666 and 616 over the centuries.

The answer lies in why numbers were used for identification in ancient Roman times. It is well known that it was very dangerous to say anything negative about any authority in the Roman empire, especially the emperor himself. To get around this problem the early Christians developed various signs and numbers to subtly communicate with each other. The sign of the cross, for instance, was a method of one Christian identifying himself to another Christian without exposing himself to those who were not aware of the sign. When identifying certain individuals, they wished to criticize they reduced their name to a number and used that in their communications.

Now the question arises as to which individuals were referred to when the early Christians used 666 and 616.

Nero has always been the prime suspect for 666. The letters of his Hebrew name “Neron Kesar” when reduced to numbers equal exactly 666. It is also interesting that the Greek spelling of another malicious emperor, Caligula, (Greek name “Gaios Kaisar”) is reduced to 616.

Could it be that the ancient manuscripts differ because there was a dispute among early Christians as to which emperor best represented the evil beast?

Nero seemed to have the majority vote and part of the reason was that his name was also reduced to 616 by using two different methods. If instead of using the standard Hebrew spelling of his name which is “Neron Kesar” we drop the “n” and use the gentile spelling “Nero Kesar” his number becomes 616. In addition, the Latin version of his name is also reduced to 616.

So even if we eliminate Caligula from the equation there is reason to believe that early Christians, who saw Nero as the Beast, may have had a disagreement as to which number better represented him.

So, is that all there is to the notorious number – that it was a code for Nero? Not quite. There is always more meaning to words that “do not pass away” than meets the eye. As I have said before the ancient Jews, who wrote the scriptures, believed that they had at least three interpretations and some of them thought it was as many as seven.

To understand what could be the most significant meaning of the number we must understand the meaning of the number seven as it applies to the seven creative spirits before the throne of God. The whole universe is created by these seven numbers which represent seven differentiations represented in the seven creative days in Genesis. We also have the seven notes, the seven colors of the rainbow, the seven electron shells and the seven rays which represent aspects of the seven numbers.

Number six represents the number of the creative energy that governs emotion and has the quality of idealism and devotion to authority. This sixth ray has dominated and governs the age of Pisces which is in the process of passing away and yielding to the Age of Aquarius which is governed by Ray 7. This will manifest just law, order, justice and organization.

The passing Age of Pisces was an emotional one indeed where we fought many a war over the Sixth Ray of idealistic and emotional differences.

In the number 666 we have a trinity of sixes representing outward authoritative emotional domination in the three worlds in which we operate as humans: (1) the physical, (2) the emotional, and (3) the mental. These three are dominated by the 6th ray or emotion when the person allows himself to be controlled like a mindless beast and herded about by an outward authority who takes the place of God. Unfortunately, this includes most of the human race. Few are able to question their authorities, but just accept “as a little child,” or a beast of burden, the direction they are led.

This leads us to another question. What is the meaning of 616 in this context?

616 is also quite fitting. 6+1+6 = 13–the number of a witches’ coven and also the number of the twelve apostles plus Jesus.

But, after the resurrection there remained only the twelve apostles guided by the invisible Christ. Then, after the church became corrupted with the authority of the Beast the 13th member, the invisible Christ, manifested as a visible antichrist, an infallible church leader representing the unearned authority of the Beast.

This has been the case now for almost 2,000 years. Most churches are led by a powerful person representing the authority of the voice of God, which is really “he who, as God, sits in the temple of God and shows himself to be God.”

Now let us take the 616 and apply it to the rays and the three worlds.

The first six is the same. This represents blind emotional authority governing physical action.

The second is different in that the emotional self is governed by Ray 1. Ray 1 represents will, power and purpose and often brings destruction to make way for the new.

The third number, which again is six, represents emotional control over the mind and thinking.

The difference then between 666 and 616 is this.

666 represents domination by emotion in all the three worlds.

616 represents emotional dominance over the physical and mental accompanied by a sense of power and zeal of purpose and determination in the emotional self.

Militant Muslims today as well as earlier Christian crusaders represented this number well. The present Christian world is more attuned to 666.

Those who bear the number 666 today will not consider the possibility that 616 has any significance and most will want to just ignore it. On the other hand, those who bear the number 777 representing the dominion of the Age of Aquarius will have no problem with any truth that surfaces. The 777 accepts truth wherever it lies and seeks to incorporate it.

We are able to laugh when we achieve detachment, if only for a moment. May Sarton

The InterNET

The InterNET

There are numerous overlooked prophecies from the scriptures concerning the internet. Let us look at a few.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:” Matthew 13:47

Here the kingdom of heaven is like a net. Other places we are told it is like a “good seed,” a “mustard seed,” “leaven,” “a treasure hid in a field,” “a business man” (“merchant”), a “king” and “ten virgins.”

The kingdom of heaven is not just the gospel, but the gospel is one of the ingredients, or one of the things that lead to the kingdom.

In the other gospels it is written “kingdom of God.” One of the properties of the kingdom, as it manifests on earth, is that it attracts seekers by casting out a net that “gathers of every kind.”

What was the “net” in the early church that gathered the saints? It wasn’t just the gospel. The gospel alone is not a net for without the cooperation of the disciples in casting forth the words and teachings of the kingdom there would have been no net and no gathering.

In that age there was a NETwork of disciples that was cast abroad and gathered in of every kind. This net was created by the disciples traveling to the various nations and creating the various points of the net.

Today a new net is available to disciples so they do not always have to physically travel. Amazingly it is called the interNET, or just the NET for short.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, (the Internet) that was cast into the sea, (the peoples of the earth – See Revelation 17:15) and gathered of every kind: Matthew 13:47

“Which, when it was full, (When most are online) they drew to shore, (Many physically gathered from the Internet) and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, (Cities of Light) but cast the bad away. Matthew 13:48 So shall it be at the end of the age: the messengers shall come forth, and sever the those in error from among the just, (the teachings of light will be rejected by those who are not ready) Matthew 13:49

“And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:50

The truth of enlightened teachings will be so obvious that it will burn like a fire in those who refuse to accept them. The fire will produce the heated emotions of anger in those who are not ready.

Isaiah talks about a highway that will be used as to tool to gather the lights.

Isaiah chapter eleven reads: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people (those with the soul consciousness), which shall be left from Assyria (In the Hebrew this means the successful and prosperous people), and from Pathos (The southern countries), and from Cush (The darker skinned peoples), and from Elam (Those who seek out the mysteries of God), and from Shinar (Those who are seeking to leave unenlightened areas and situations and want to dwell with more enlightened people), and from Hamath (Those who are seeking protection from possible future calamities), and from the islands of the sea (Not only literal inhabitants of Islands, but also signifies those who think for themselves and rise above the sea of emotions). And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” Isaiah 11:11-12.

The “ensign” will be a teaching or sign that will be visible from “the four corners of the earth,” and will be a magnetic force to attract the lights of the planet.

The next verse is interesting: “But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines TOWARD THE WEST; and they shall spoil them of the east together…” Isaiah 11:14

“The Philistines” is a symbol of intelligent people, but without spiritual consciousness. This scripture will have an amazing fulfillment. When the Israelites (the lights) gather first in the West many of them will literally “fly” in aircraft owned by the modern Philistines toward the West and they will spoil them of the East together. Those of the East are those religions in the east who are supposed to be enlightened but will be “spoiled” by the West because the teachings there will eventually be greater than that had among the Jews, Hindus or Buddhists.

The verse continues: “…they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.” Isaiah 11:14

The word “lay” is a mistranslation of the Hebrew SHALACH which means to “Send out, stretch forth, or reach forth”. “Shall obey them” is also misleading. “Obey” is from MISHMA’ATH which is better rendered “hearken” or “to hear intelligently”. Several possible words are also left out. The ancient Greek Septuagint manuscript has the word “first” inserted twice in this verse.

Most important is understanding what is meant by Edom, Moab and Ammon. “Edom” means red and corresponds to the American Indian. Moab is literally “her mother’s father.” Israel, or Jacob’s, mother’s father was Bethuel which means “destroyed of God” or “broken in pieces by God, or great power”. “God” comes from EL from BethuEL and can also be translated as “strength” or “power.” Those who are to receive the hand of fellowship will be those who have broken hearts and contrite spirits, those who have had their faith destroyed, or those who have suffered physical calamities.

Putting this all together and adding the two “firsts” from the ancient manuscript we have the following meaning: “They shall first extend their hand to the downtrodden and humbled peoples and those who have been broken by great power, but those who are the most like the IsraELites (or those closest to spiritual contact) will be the first to hear intelligently.”

Verse 16 reads: “And there shall be a highway (the Internet – Super Highway) for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.”

Here we are told that there will be a highway that will be a means to gather the lights out of Assyria (the prosperous areas of the world) that will be a higher correspondence to the gathering of the Israelites out of Egypt.

Isaiah further states: “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Second Coming), make straight in the desert (a time when little real truth is taught) a highway (Internet) for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low…”

Intelligent people with something to say but have no power are those in the valleys. Large corporations and the rich are those in the mountains. The Internet “exalts” those in the valleys so they have much more power to present their message, often making them equal to the rich and powerful (The mountains).

“…and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.” Isaiah 40:3-4

If governments, the rich and powerful try to present lies to the people they will be exposed on the Internet and “made straight.” The “rough places” are cover-ups, spins and deceptions presented to the people through the media and the powerful. The Internet will grow more and more powerful until such distortion will no longer be effective, but the truth will become “plain.”

Finally Isaiah sums it up: “Go through, go through the gates (gateway to the net); prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway (gather on the super highway); gather out the stones (from EBEN implying those who build, create or initiate); lift up a standard for the people. Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world (earth), Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy (into wholeness) people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.” Isaiah 62:10-12

Remember. Each inspired writing has at least three interpretations. These scriptures can be interpreted from another angle of vision, but I think you will agree this is a fascinating one.

To visualize the complete fulfillment of these prophesies we must realize that this “super highway” is just in its infancy. If we could see ten or twenty years into the future we may not even recognize it, but I think we can all see that it can be a great tool in gathering knowledge as well as people who have much light to share.

Here is one final scripture that could refer to the Internet.

“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” Luke 12:2-3

The internet has done much to fulfill this prophesy and there is more to come. It is difficult for anyone government, business, religion etc. to keep anything secret these days. As soon as some insider puts it on a blog it is “proclaimed upon the housetops.”

I know that there are people who do not love their fellow man, and I hate people like that! Tom Lehrer

Thoughts on Infinity

Thoughts on Infinity

Some are questioning my teachings on infinity so I will add a few thoughts.

There is a beginning to everything where form, time and space is concerned.

Because the mind of the part cannot out-imagine the mind of the whole, the universe seems to be infinite because the part cannot find the end of the whole, but the whole knows the beginning and the end.

There is a beginning and end to time, space and form. We must go beyond time and space to find the eternal and beyond this the idea of infinity does not even enter in because there is no time and space. The theoretical idea of the infinite only has meaning in time and space.

There is a beginning and end to all things occupying time, form and space. The Infinite does not exist there and it has no meaning in the higher spheres where the “eternal now” has meaning. There is no infinite past or future for they do not exist there.

The main problem we have had in understanding it is that some are defining it differently from myself.

In talking about it I have differentiated between that which is unlimited, endless and infinite. Many people tend to lump these all together as representing the same thing. They are not quite the same thing.

[1] Unlimited: That which is unlimited may have an end but he who is in an unlimited situation has no boundary set upon his field of activity. For instance, a person who works for wages is limited in his income to X amount per hour. The person who works for himself is often referred to as unlimited in the amount he can make. He can always work a little harder or a little smarter and increase his income. If he made X amount last month there is nothing limiting him to X this month. We would never say the self-employed person will make an infinite income. Similarly, I have referred to the universe as unlimited. Science has proven that it is expanding and we know of no limits of how far such expansion will go. In other words, it appears unlimited.

[2] Endless or eternal: This means the item under question will never have and end or reach the end. The end can never be reached by us so it is endless to us. Endless does not include an infinite end point.

[3] Infinity or infinite: I am using this term as it is used in mathematics. Whereas endless does not include the end point, infinity does. The infinite includes the beginning, middle and end. In math there is no such thing as infinity plus one because infinity always includes the plus one. Infinity includes the endless end.

This is why I say infinity does not really exist because an endless end does not exist. If no being or consciousness can find the end then it does not exist and therefore there is no such thing as an infinite point.

Infinity is useful as a theoretical endless point but useless in practical application because it does not exist.

Infinity only has meaning in time and space. Take away time and space and we have the eternal now where there can be no infinite time or distance because there is no time or distance.

I suppose a number of mathematicians are playing around with different ideas and definitions, but when I took math in High School and college there was only one consistent definition in all the classes I took with several different teachers. Basically, it is the one I have put forth which agrees with this online mathematical dictionary which gives it as: “A reference to a quantity larger than any specific integer.”

In other words, infinity is larger than any number that can be written.

Since any number can be reduced to writing then infinity does not exist – only as a theoretical idea.

Wikipedia gives a similar definition: “Infinity is the state of being greater than any finite (real) number however large.”

They also gave a reference to a train of thought that thinks as I do that infinity does not exist. It is called constructivism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_constructivism

Here are some interesting comments from another math page:

“No ‘infinity’ concept exists in the context of any number system, if by number system one means a collection of concepts that have operations like addition and multiplication the way familiar numbers do, operations which obey the usual properties of arithmetic.

“One way to see this is to think, what would infinity minus 1 be? It couldn’t be a finite number, since no finite number plus 1 equals infinity. So it must be infinite, and this would mean Infinity minus one equals infinity.

“From this one can immediately see that the rules of arithmetic must be violated, since if they held one could subtract infinity from both sides to conclude that -1 = 0, which isn’t true.

“Therefore, there is no number system which possesses the usual rules of arithmetic and in which infinity exists. In other words,

“Infinity does not exist, if by “exist” one means in the context of a number system.”

Happiness 101

Happiness 101

I received a number of questions from an ex-Mormon spiritual teacher fairly antagonistic to me. Here is a digest of them along with my answers

Question: Why do we exist and how do we exist and what caused us to exist so that we can experience what you term “life”?

Why are you asking me a question you have not answered – at least I have not seen an answer in your writings? Are you looking to me to solve the great mystery?

Here’s the short answer:

“…why do we exist?”

The natural impulse behind all life is to create or have experience that is meaningful. This impulse which lies within the purpose of God lies behind all creation. We exist or live to have experience.

Question: How do we exist and what caused us to exist so that we can experience what you term “life”?

I agree with Joseph Smith here in that we never had a beginning and will never have an end. There is no first cause. Cause and effect just IS, and through cause and effect we came to be as we now are. This was a long process that involved many incarnations and ascent and descent through many spheres. We have lived many more lives than the two or three as you believe.

It is not as simplistic as the idea that God and his wife had a baby composed of spirit matter. Where did the spirit matter come from? How is it different from physical matter? Where did consciousness come from? Where was the entity before he occupied a body of spirit?

I do not recall you answering any of these things.

My long answer to these questions is found in my book, The Molecular Relationship. You can read it free and it can be found at my web site mention at the end of this post.

Question: Why do “we as humans” care what we want out of existence?

It is self-evident that it is much more desirable to enjoy our experiences than to not enjoy them. Why would one even need to ask that question?

Question: What other living thing can cause a change in our “emotion” except for us?

When another can change our emotional state, it is because we have allowed them to have this power. Yes, we are the ones responsible for how we feel. The trouble is that few can control this power including yourself.

Question: Sure, others can change our environment, even burn us at the stake, but why should our “emotion” change?

It changes for the average person because he is not aware of his freedom of choice and accepts society’s standards of what should make him happy.

The advanced person can choose those things that will affect his emotional state – or he can choose to not be affected. It all depends on the purpose he is pursuing.

Question: Are we not all-powerful beings?

Few realize we have full power including, apparently yourself. If you want to go through a locked door and have the key in your pocket, but do not know you have the key, then you do not effectively have the power to go through the door.

There is a way to do anything, but if one does not know the way he does not have the power.

Question: What is a spiritual relationship?

“Wherefore, verily I say unto you that all things unto me are spiritual…” D&C 29:34

“Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.” Titus 1:15

Question: Should we have happiness as a goal?

Happiness is a byproduct and a temporary thing. Who’s worrying about finding happiness in a goal? Not me. Enjoying the ride through life in the Now is the important thing, for we are always in the Now.

Question: What is happiness?

Happiness is the emotional thrill we receive from getting what we want.

Question: Why do we seek it?

Because our internal programming causes us to gravitate toward pleasure and happiness and away from pain.

Question: Since happiness is not a “physical” principle, but is an emotional state, how could one possibly find it properly by looking at “physical” things?

Our happiness in this world is dependent on our emotional response to physical surroundings and experiences. Can you give me an example of you having happiness in this world without the physical being involved?

“Spirit and element, inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy; And when separated, man CANNOT receive a fullness of joy.” D&C 93:33-34

You cannot have a fulness of joy unless the physical is merged or raised to the spiritual.

Question: You speak of things that bring happiness. Which of these did Jesus tell you to do?

This has nothing to do with my exercise which was to discover the three things you experienced in your life that made you happy. Jesus didn’t tell me to eat breakfast, but I did eat and enjoyed it. So what? This had nothing to do with Biblical injunctions.

Question: How do we know what “goal” to set?

If you have to ask that question then you have a problem and your life is probably in a state of confusion.

Question:  Why do we set goals and other animals on this planet do not?

Because we are self-conscious and the animals are not.

Question: Does not a goal have its end in death?

Most goals do not result in death or life, but affect the quality of life while we are here.

Question: Did Christ ever advise one to set a goal?

Yes, many times. The Golden Rule you cited is a goal to reach for. He set the goal of preaching the gospel to every nation. He said “Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect.” That’s a goal if I ever heard one. “Seek and ye shall find” is another. The wise man will have the goal of increasing his talents. I could go on and on.

Question: Did he not preach against goals and that “…sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”? By George, I think he did!

I don’t think so. That statement is from the Sermon on the Mount which is full of goal setting statements.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34

Here he sets the goal of seeking first the kingdom and secondly the goal of putting your thoughts on the present rather than worrying about the future. If we take care of evils as they come up the future will take care of itself. This doesn’t mean that Jesus ignored the future for many of his goal setting statements involved the future – such as preaching to all nations.

He quotes me as saying: “Happiness is temporary because once a goal is met a person ceases to move forward and the happiness dissipates. To cause happiness to return, a new decision must be made and a new goal set. As he then moves toward the new goal, he then has the byproduct of happiness again should he choose to attach himself to it.”

Question: How does this relate to our eternal state?

Even the happiness from spiritual goals has an end when the goal is reached. This is why we need eternal progression, so happiness can be renewed.

Do you think you can apply the Golden Rule for one day and have eternal happiness? No. You have to do it tomorrow and the next day to renew it.

All happiness is temporary because all goals which create it have an end. Our eternal state is more related to joy than happiness.

Question: How and why do we know what a “desirable destination” is?

Pretty simple. It is whatever you decide is desirable.

Question: How can we even know what happiness is?

Again, it is pretty simple. How do you know ice is cold? You can feel it. How do you know if you are happy? Same thing. Not much mystery there.

Question: How does one control his destiny?

By persevering until one reaches his goals.

Question: Why are we able to control our destiny?

Because we want to.

Question: and who gave us the right to control it?

It is inherent in us because we are in the image of God.

Question: Is it not true that in your physical desire for happiness, YOU seek to control others?

No.

Question: You seem to believe in borders. Are not borders a way of controlling another for the sake of your OWN happiness and pleasure?

No. It is a measure to prevent them from controlling us. I take measures to prevent a burglar from gaining control over my life not because I seek to control him, but seek to prevent him from controlling me.

The same with you. You threw some out of your group to prevent them from influencing your followers. Obviously, you believe in borders. Why pretend otherwise? If I am not mistaken you still have a separate group with borders to keep non-believers out. It is your right to do this, but in so doing you need to acknowledge your belief in borders and boundaries.

Question: Do you not also derive your happiness from controlling the happiness of others?

No.

Question: So, which is it? Should we seek for physical peace or spiritual peace?

Both, with spiritual being the priority.

Question: How do we recognize it as peace?

How do you recognize cold and hot? You know it when you experience it. Pretty simple.

Question: What causes us to define peace?

What causes us to define “hot?” Same thing.

Question: And what is the “highest we know”, and how did it become the “highest”?….

How does one see the highest part of a mountain? You look and see. Correspondingly, you look within and see the highest you know to be true and follow. Again, extremely simple.

This teacher ends with this pronouncement: “JJ you are the antithesis of Jesus Christ. Your subtle notions of doctrine leads one away from the very core of his gospel. In you we have an example of an anti-Christ of which was prophesied.”

Obviously, you did not pick the “do not judge” criteria to make your day happy.

Have you had even one happy day in your life? How about telling us about it? You’ve cited numerous occasions in your biography when you were miserable so surely you’ve experienced the other side, which is happiness. Perhaps it would be advantageous to look at the glass as being half full.

Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one’s values. Ayn Rand

Higher, Lower and Infinity

Higher, Lower and Infinity

Earlier I wrote: “Those beginners on the Path may relate enlightening facts to those farther along than themselves, but they can never directly teach them principles. Principles are only passed down from higher to lower. If any of us achieve enlightenment on any principle, it is either inspired by a person who is further along the path than ourselves or from our Higher Selves. What we are saying here is, in fact, a principle: Enlightenment proceeds from the top down, never from the bottom up.”

This does not imply that a lower initiate cannot teach a higher one anything. As I said anyone can teach anyone else facts, for none of us have all facts available floating around in our heads.

Notice carefully my wording. I was talking about the beginner on the path who has yet to grasp what a principle is. The seasoned travelers have an understanding of principles and it is possible that a lower initiate may have concentrated on a principle or two that the higher initiate has not. However, the higher initiate will understand what the lower is saying around a principle before the conversation is finished. Initiates see principles in a flash if they are paying attention.

Since the beginner cannot grasp what a principle is he cannot effectively teach it to anyone.

It is a true principle that spiritual knowledge flows from the higher to the lower but the soul of man is a master on its own plane so whether we are high or low, a revelation from the soul is sublime and inspiring to all. A revelation through the soul is definitely a flow from the higher to the lower even if it be that a first degree initiate receives it and gives the knowledge to a third degree.

Thoughts on Infinity

Some here have difficulty in agreeing with my premise that there is no such thing as infinity or the infinite.

Given that every religion on the earth has pounded this concept into our minds from our youth, the reluctance to consider it may be illusion is understandable.

There are several reasons to not believe in infinity.

  1. It can never be counted or measured.
  2. It can never be discovered or experienced.
  3. It can never be described.
  4. It can never be demonstrated.
  5. You can add one to any number.
  6. It can never be imagined.

What’s that you say? You have imagined it?

I don’t think so. You have thought about the word and the idea, but you have never imagined infinity itself.

Why is this true? Because no matter what it is you have imagined, you can always imagine one more thing, and then one more still. Therefore, that which you imagined is not infinity.

The worlds were created by God’s imagination, but the creation is not infinite because God can always imagine one more thing.

If we want to know what God’s imagination is like we must look at our own because we are reflections of Him.

Have you ever imagined so much that you cannot imagine one more thing? Neither has God. Have you ever imagined a number so big that you cannot add one to it? Neither has God. Have you ever imagined a world so far away that there cannot be one further still? Neither has God.

The universe seems infinite because we are parts of God and we cannot out-imagine the Divine. No matter where your imagination goes, it has already been explored by the One Great Life.

Our existence, as well as the universe itself, is not infinite, but unlimited and in a state of expansion. It is a scientific fact that the universe is expanding and is therefore larger than it was an hour ago. Since you cannot get anything larger than infinity this means the universe is not infinite, else it could not expand.

Consider the number zero as the starting point for your existence in this universe. As you move to 1, 2, 3, 4, to millions, billions and trillions you never reach an ultimate number. You can always add one. We are never an infinity of years from zero, but always a specific number, for everything, even the number of atoms in the universe, has a specific number. We can expand and progress as long as we can imagine and then we will stop at a specific number, rest and go back to zero.

What about before existence as we know it?

To measure this we use negative numbers and if we go back in time we do not reach infinity, but eventually reach another zero or starting point.

Our whole existence is to have joy and fulfillment.

Which would you choose? A world of perfection and the infinite where no additional step can be taken and there is no new experience to be had, no new joy to savor?

OR

Unlimited expansion, progress and new experiences?

I choose the latter and because I have made this choice this is what I have.

Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently. Henry Ford

Question: Isn’t Infinite defined as Having no boundaries or limits?

No. An infinite number is a number so large that it cannot get any larger. No further expansion is possible.

Unlimited numbering has no boundaries but in the numbering process you will always arrive at a specific number. There will never be a time that a specific number does not describe the number of particles or events.

Because infinity can never be reached then it does not exist and is used only as a theoretical number in mathematics.

Never ending and eternal goes toward the theoretical infinity but never gets there.

“And the Lord God spake unto Moses, saying: The heavens, they are many, and they cannot be numbered unto man; but they are numbered unto me, for they are mine.” Moses 1:37

Finding Real Truth

Finding Real Truth

From comments received it looks like I should add a few things on how it is evil to force others to do good.

Rarely is anyone, even a tyrant, motivated with the idea that they are forcing anyone to do evil. It is as DK says that evil is a distorted reflection of divine possibilities.

Evil always starts with a benevolent sounding idea. Take communism for example. It starts with the idea of human equality, that each should give according to his ability and receive according to his needs.

This would be great if this ideal were achieved through free will, but the evil comes in when initiators get frustrated and decide that men must be forced to do good.

Because humans are not evolved enough to achieve full brotherhood through free will communists have used evil that good may come to achieve their goals.

As we know none of these systems of forced benevolence worked. Communism did not achieve equality, abundance, brotherhood or come close to motivating people to give according to their ability.

The key of understanding is this. If people are not evolved enough to achieve an idea through free will then forcing them to do good will not achieve it either. On the contrary, it will delay the goal indefinitely.

I received some comments stating the belief that two people with soul contact could strongly disagree.

Because two leaders believe they are inspired or have soul contact does not mean that they have it.

Two people achieving soul contact on the same question will receive the same answer. Truth never contradicts truth and the soul will never reveal something that is not true. Those who do not hold their minds steady in the light may receive a truth through soul contact and then after some fomenting in the personality, coupled with a distorted recollection, they may still tread the path of error.

This is why it is so important to etch into our minds that moment when the revelation was received and create a state of mind that is capable of returning to it in full recollectedness.

If two people disagree one of three things are at play.

[1] Neither has received soul contact on the issue.

[2] One has received soul contact and the other disagrees because he has not.

[3] They have both received soul contact but one of them has gone contrary to the direction of his soul and has put the answer out of his mind, preferring to follow his own will instead.

Question: How do you know Ultimate perfection is an illusion? Does that mean infinity is an illusion? Are they not part of the same thing?

You can know because it makes sense and harmonizes with principles revealed through the soul.

One can never know that infinity exists because there is no such thing as an infinite number. Everything in existence, even the universe, has a specific number of particles. Neither infinity nor absolute perfection exists within the worlds of form. Our universe is only limited by the imagination of God, of which our imagination is a reflection. No matter how much you imagine, you can still imagine more. There is no such thing as infinity plus one.

God (and also ourselves) is unlimited, not infinite.

The fact that creation eternally exists is a testament that there is no ultimate perfection. Perfection of form is in the mind of the beholder and we all have different minds in this reality.

I was asked why the Dark Brothers do not come after me through manipulating some crazed individual since the mission and teachings I have run counter to their own purpose.

The answer is that they have tried to destroy me in a number of different ways, but thanks to the assistance of the forces of light I remain here at your service.

Every spiritual teacher must be prepared to give his life if necessary and if their work is important the Dark Brotherhood will attack them in some way but not all lose their lives prematurely.

Two of the greatest teachers were Jesus and Buddha. Jesus was betrayed and crucified at age 33 whereas Buddha lived and taught into fairly old age. Does this mean that the Dark Brotherhood ignored Buddha? No. Their agents attacked his teachings and him personally, but without permanent success.

Buddha and many other teachers were able to live out a normal lifespan for several reasons.

[1] Their mission did not require a martyrdom.

]2] Karma did not require a martyrdom.

[3] The disciple was sensitive to who was being manipulated by the Dark Brotherhood and worked to neutralize them.

[4] The wise disciples avoided antagonizing those who were agents of the Dark Brotherhood.

[5] If it was important that the teacher live and teach for a full life the Brotherhood of Light will assist in protecting him.

[6] Both brotherhoods work under certain limitations governed by ancient law.

In addition, the Dark Brotherhood attacks in more ways than the physical. Sometimes this works against them and makes an unwanted martyr. Sometimes they prefer to merely work to discourage the teacher and neutralize his work. Other times they are successful at distracting the teacher and leading him astray with illusion.

Question: Why was an evil person like Hitler even allowed to incarnate?

Hitler and other tyrants were agents of dark masters but were not masters themselves. Just like those who are one step above advanced humans on the spiritual side belong to the kingdom of God, even so, on the dark side, those who are several steps above a tyrant like Hitler belong to a dark kingdom. Those who are high initiates in this kingdom cannot incarnate but many bad characters that are used by them do.

If Hitler had won the war and killed off millions of people with a flame of light and love in them, the vibration of the planet would have been lowered enough so some of his more advanced brothers could have taken physical bodies. This would have been a disaster indeed.

Hopefully we can seal the door where evil dwells so those who have experienced the birth of Christ in the heart will be able to freely move forward.

A reader expressed concern over some advanced teachers like HPB giving too much authority to authorities, and even titles, like calling Buddha, Lord Buddha.

I am also repulsed from using beastly like titles such as “Lord Buddha.” Both Buddhists and Christians make the mistake of using the “names of blasphemy” calling their teachers “Lord,” “his holiness” or “most reverend”, etc.

That said, the second key of judgment must be used to see the correct use of authority. The one extreme of blind acceptance must be rejected, but also the automatic rejection of a real authority on a subject is also foolish.

When I am teaching something new and I have a quote from an authoritative source to back it up I usually will use it. Why? Because an earned authority, such as the Bible, carries weight with most people and will cause many to reflect more seriously on what I am presenting.

You have to remember that the only absolute authority I have used to establish my teachings are the souls of the students. I have not parted the Red Sea, walked on water or claimed any gold plates to dazzle the outer personality. Those who look on me as an earned authority do so because my words have registered again and again with their souls.

I am also influenced by earned authorities. Perhaps the greatest earned authority, as far as printed words are concerned, are the words of Jesus. Now suppose I had never heard of him or read his words and someone took a phrase out of context and presented it to me. Let us take a couple scriptures as examples:

“I come not to bring peace, but a sword.”

“If your right hand offends you cut it off.”

“Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.”

If we had never heard these words before and they were presented to us by some crazed-looking individual we would assume they were from the dark side.

But, if they come from an earned authority what do we do? We justifiably assume there may be more meaning to them than meets the eye. We may then study the words before and after to examine more closely what the true meaning may be.

Most of the time when I read DK I just glide along like a sponge because the teachings register so well with my soul. But every once in a while, I find something that doesn’t register. Because he is an earned authority I do not automatically reject it but then go back and read the before and after and make sure I understand what he is trying to communicate. In this case sometimes a closer reading resolves the problem with my soul. Other times it does not and I put it on the shelf. Of those things on the shelf some are resolved and I later see how they were true. Other things are still on the shelf and with a few others I just disagree, or at the least would communicate the idea in a different wording.

Concerning authority a reader posed this quote: “THE LORD BUDDHA HAS SAID that we must not believe in a thing said merely because it is said; nor traditions because they have been handed down from antiquity; nor rumors, as such; nor writings by sages, because sages wrote them; nor fancies that we may suspect to have been inspired in us by a Deva (that is, in presumed spiritual inspiration); nor from inferences drawn from some haphazard assumption we may have made; nor because of what seems an analogical necessity; nor on the mere authority of our teachers or masters. But we are to believe when the writing, doctrine, or saying is corroborated by our own reason and consciousness. ‘For this,’ says he in concluding, ‘I taught you not to believe merely because you have heard, but when you believed of your consciousness, then to act accordingly and abundantly.’” Secret Doctrine III. 401

Good quote, but even your own consciousness and reason may be based in illusion and all must be open to future correction. Even so we must go with the highest we know until more is given.

A reader says: Awhile back, don’t remember why but I started questioning myself about why I was not wearing a seat belt. When I really dug in I found that I thought it more likely that a seatbelt probably would be a help in more accidents than it would be a detriment and realized that the whole time I had been NOT wearing a seatbelt, as a sort of a protest I guess, just because “THEY” (authority) had been trying to force me to. Sort of a passive-aggressive version of flipping “the beast” the bird I guess, … here’s one for the habitual rebel: Do not automatically discount, dismiss, ignore or COMBAT a thing (or try to induce others to) JUST because it WAS stated by somebody in/with “authority”.

This is a great point and illustrates the pendulum principle of how we swing from one extreme to the other and often miss the point in the middle.

I also have a natural inclination to reject authority and have to catch myself to make sure I examine such with objectivity.

I empathize with you on the seat belts for I do not like the silly laws that require us to follow rules for our own good.

My ex-wife was (and is) a fanatic in relation to the use of seat belts. She wouldn’t dare drive three feet without buckling everyone up.

One time I picked up my kids for a visit and after they were all securely strapped in we took off. Then one of my kids noticed I didn’t have my seat belt on and asked me why.

I replied, “I’m not going to have an accident today, so I won’t need one. If I’m going to have an accident then I’ll put one on.”

My kids looked at me like I had lost my mind, but there was method in my madness. My kids were so over regulated and controlled by their mother that I felt I needed to push their thinking the other direction.

That which most people think needs done through law can be done better with proper education.

He had heard people speak contemptuously of money: he wondered if they had ever tried to do without it. W. Somerset Maugham (1874 – 1965), “Of Human Bondage”, 1915

The Aquarian Gospel and Judas

The Aquarian Gospel and Judas

I have gathered pertinent scriptures from the Aquarian Gospel that sheds more light on Judas. These are beautifully written and quite interesting.

“Ischariot and his son, whose name was Judas, were employed by Matthew and were at the tribute house. And Jesus said to Judas, Stay your work; the masters call us to a duty in the savings bank of souls; I go and you may follow me. and Judas followed him.” Chapter 88:25-26

“AS Jesus taught, a man stood forth and said, Rabboni, may I speak?

“And Jesus said, Say on.

“And then the man spoke out and said, A storm upon the sea last night wrecked many fishing boats, and scores of men went down to death, and lo, their wives and children are in need; What can be done to help them in their sore distress?

“And Jesus said, A worthy plea. You men of Galilee, take heed. We may not bring again to live these men, but we can succour those who looked to them for daily bread. You stewards of the wealth of God, an opportunity has come; unlock your vaults; bring forth your hoarded gold; bestow it with a lavish hand. This wealth was laid aside for just times as these; when it was needed not, lo, it was yours to guard; But now it is not yours, for it belongs to those who are in want, and if you give it not you simply bring upon your heads the wrath of God. It is not charity to give to those who need; it is but honesty; it is but giving men their own.

“Then Jesus turned to Judas, one of the twelve, who was the treasurer of the band, and said, Bring forth our treasure box; the money is not ours now; turn every farthing to the help of those in such distress.

“Now, Judas did not wish to give the money all to those in want, and so he talked with Peter, James and John. He said, Lo, I will save a certain part and give the rest; that surely is enough for us, for we are strangers to the ones in want; we do not even know their names.

“But Peter said, Why, Judas, man, how do you dare to think to trifle with the strength of right? The Lord has spoken true; this wealth does not belong to us in face of this distress, and to refuse to give it is to steal. You need not fear; we will not come to want.

“Then Judas opened up the treasure box and gave the money all. And there was gold and silver, food, and raiment in abundance for the needs of the bereaved.” Chapter114:1-18

“In honour of the Christine Lord he gave a feast, and Lazarus was among the guests, and Ruth and Martha served. And as the guests reclined about the table, Mary took a cruse of rich perfume and poured it out on Jesus’ head and feet. And then she knelt and with her hair she wiped his feet; the odour of the rich perfume filled all the room.

“Now, Judas, always looking at the selfish side of life, exclaimed, For shamed, why did you waste that costly perfume thus? We might have sold it for three hundred pence, and had the money to supply our wants and feed the poor. (Now, Judas was the treasurer, and carried all the money of the Christine band.)

“And others said, Why, Mary, what a profligate you are! You should not throw such wealth away.

“But Jesus said, You men, be still; let her alone; you know not what you say. The poor are with you constantly; at any time you can administer to them; but I will not be with you long. And Mary knows the sadness of the coming days; she has anointed me beforehand for my burial.” Chapter 159:2-11

“And Ananias said, I have a plan that will succeed. The twelve with Jesus every day go forth alone to pray; And we will find their trysting place; then we can seize the man and bring him here without the knowledge of the multitudes. I know one of the twelve, a man who worships wealth, and for a sum I think that he will lead the way to where the man is wont to pray.

“And then Caiaphas said, If you will lead the way and bribe the man of whom you speak, to aid in seizing Jesus in a secret place, then we will give to you a hundred silver pieces for your hire.

“And Ananias said, ‘Tis well.

“And then he went to Bethany and found the twelve at Simon’s house and, calling Judas to the side he said, If you would care to make a sum of money for yourself hear me: The high priest and other rulers in Jerusalem would like to talk with Jesus when alone, that they may know about his claims; And if he proves himself to be the Christ, lo, they will stand in his defence. Now, if you will but lead the way to where your master is tomorrow night that they may send a priest to talk with him alone, there is a sum of silver, thirty pieces, that the priests will give to you:

“And Judas reasoned with himself; he said, It surely may be well to give the Lord a chance to tell the priests about his claims when he is all alone. And if the priests would do him harm he has the power to disappear and go his way as he has done before; and thirty pieces is a goodly sum. And so he said to Ananias, I will lead the way, and by a kiss make known which person is the Lord.” Chapter 159:18-30

“And then they ate the pasch and as they ate, the master said, Behold, for one of you will turn away this night and will betray me into wicked hands.

“And the disciples were amazed at what he said; they looked into each other’s faces in wonderment; they all exclaimed, Lord, is it I?

“And Peter said to John, who sat beside the Lord, To whom does he refer?

“And John put forth his hand and touched the master’s hand and said, Which one of us is so depraved as to betray his Lord?

“And Judas said, Lord, is it I?

“And Jesus said, He is the one who now has put his hand with mine into the dish. They looked, and Judas’ hand was with the hand of Jesus in the dish.

“And Jesus said, The Prophets cannot fail; the son of man must be betrayed, but woe to him who shall betray his Lord.

“And from the table Judas rose at once; his hour had come. And Jesus said to him, Do quickly what you are to do. And Judas went his way.”

 Chapter 160:27-35

“And then again he went back to the three, and still they slept. he said to John. With all the love you have for me, could you not watch with me a single hour? And then he said, It is enough; the hour has come, and my betrayer is at hand; arise and let us go.

“And when they came again to Kidron, lo, the eight disciples were asleep, and Jesus said, You men, awake; behold, for the betrayer of the son of man is come.” Chapter 163:58-61

THE Lord with the eleven were in the orchard of Massalian, and as they talked they saw a band of men with lanterns and with swords and clubs approaching them. And Jesus said, Behold the emissaries of the evil one! and Judas leads the way.

“And the disciples said, Lord, let us flee to save our lives.

“But Jesus said, Why should we flee to save our lives when this is the fulfilment of the words of prophets and of seers? And Jesus went alone to meet the men; and as they came he said, Why are you here, you men? whom do you seek?

“And they replied, We seek the man from Galilee. We seek for Jesus, one who calls himself the Christ.

“And Jesus answered, Here am I.

“And then he raised his hands and with a mighty thought he brought the ethers to the state of light; and all the orchard was aglow with light.

“The frenzied men were driven back and many fled and tarried not until they reached Jerusalem; and others fell upon their faces on the ground. The bravest men, and they with hardest hearts, remained, and when the light had paled, the Lord again inquired, Whom do you seek?

“And Ananias said, We seek the man from Galilee; we seek for Jesus, he who calls himself the Christ.

“And Jesus answered him and said, I told you once before; but now I tell you once again that I am he.

“By Ananias, Judas stood; but in a moment he had gone and coming up behind the Lord he said, My Lord; and then he kissed him as a sign that he was Jesus whom they sought.

“And Jesus said, Do you, Iscariot, come and thus betray your master with a kiss? This thing must need be done; but woe to him who does betray his Lord. Your carnal greed has seared your conscience and you know not what you do; but in a little time your conscience will assert itself, and in remorse, lo, you will close your span and take your life.

“Then the eleven came, laid hold of Judas and would have done him harm; but Jesus said, You must not harm this man; you have no right to judge this man; his conscience is his judge, will sentence him and he will execute himself.

“And then the mob led on by Malchus, servant of Caiaphas, laid hold of Jesus, and was binding him with chains.” Chapter 164:1-19

“NOW, Judas who betrayed his Lord, was with the mob; but all the time he thought that Jesus would assert his power and demonstrate the strength of God that he possessed, and strike to earth the fiendish multitudes and free himself; But when he saw his master on the ground and bleeding from a score of wounds, he said, O God, what have I done? I have betrayed the son of God; the curse of God will rest upon my soul.

“And then he turned and ran with haste until he reached the temple door; he found the priests, who gave to him the thirty silver pieces to betray the Lord, and said, Take back your bribe; it is the cost price of my soul; I have betrayed the son of God.

“The priests replied, That matters not to us.

“Then Judas threw the silver on the floor, and, bowed with grief, he went away, and on a ledge beyond the city’s walls he hanged himself and died. In time the fastenings gave way, his body fell into the Hinnon vale and after many days they found it there a shapeless mass.

“The rulers could not put the price of blood into the treasury, and so they took the thirty silver pieces with which they bought a potter’s field, Where they might bury those who had no rights to lie within their sacred grounds. And there they put the body of the man who sold his Lord.” Chapter 169:1-11

“And Peter said, the Lord called to this ministry twelve men as twelve foundation stones on which the Christine temple should be built. This Judas who betrayed his Lord, has gone to his own place beyond the veil. Of him the prophet wrote: His habitation shall be desolate; no man shall dwell therein; his office let another take.” Chapter 181:5-7

Judas Questions

Judas Questions

Question: Is it possible that Jesus betrayed Judas in a past life and reaped his own karma?

Because Jesus was much further along the path than Judas it is unlikely that Jesus has betrayed him in the past. It is quite possible that Jesus had betrayed one of his teachers in the far past when he was a regular disciple and the betrayal of Judas was a fulfillment of his own karma.

Question: Could Judas have been directed by his soul to end his life?

Anything is possible, but as a general rule the soul urges all those in reasonable health to continue with their lives until a natural end comes. This is essential to fulfill the entity’s purpose in life. My soul has never led me toward escaping responsibility.

Question: Would a planned betrayed have been that dishonest?

It would have been deceptive. Several times it is written that Jesus stated point blank that one of the disciples would betray him. Then at the Last Supper he even identified the betrayer as Judas. It would have been a definite contrived deception to have stated several times that a disciple would betray him when he knew that there would be no betrayal, but Judas was only doing as directed and faithful to his Lord.

If it is true then Jesus knew that Judas was appointed by him to pretend to betray him then this would have been a definite contrived deception, something a Master avoids at all costs.

Ruth quoting JJ:

It is very believable that one disciple out of twelve would betray his master. Almost every great teacher has a disciple who betrays him.

Question: Was the betrayal based on some natural law?

Betrayals are an effect of laws rather than a law or principle by itself. Just as it is written that one third of the hosts of heaven betrayed God and followed Satan it is a general probability that one third of the disciples of an enlightened teacher will betray him to some degree – if given the opportunity.

Despite his weaknesses Judas was the one most qualified to be the twelfth apostle and Jesus had to plow with the horses he had. As time progressed, he could see into his heart and discern his intent, but from the beginning he expected to be betrayed, especially because of the prophecies of betrayal in the Old Testament.

There would have been no deception on the part of Jesus if the standard Gospels are true, but if the newly revealed Gospel of Judas is true there would have been.

It is not deceptive to not tell all you know. I am not telling you the color or my shirt I am wearing. Am I being deceptive? No. It becomes deceptive when you ask the color of my shirt and I give you the wrong answer.

Question: What if Judas was overshadowed and someone higher gave him the go ahead to do what had to be done, without Jesus’ knowledge?

This is probably what was going through the mind of Judas. One belief is that he thought that had to force Jesus to display his powers by putting him in a life and death situation. He thought the Master would save himself and convince the world he was the Messiah. When he saw the plan did not work he realized he was deceived by a dark brother rather than a master.

Question: Why didn’t Jesus bypass Judas and just give himself up to authorities.

Because suicide is against the code of the Brotherhood of Light. A brother may give his life through the natural unfolding of events if it furthers higher purpose, but he will not self-destruct. To face the cross with no karma so death could have been overcome he needed the unfolding of natural events to lead him there. If he had plotted with Judas or given himself up then this would have been a suicidal and deceptive plan.

Question: Is any spiritual group secure when there is always a possibility of betrayal?

Judas pulled himself out of the group through his act of betrayal. Molecules made of humans have been very fragile in the past, but as they are finally established concretely and in larger numbers they will be much more stable. Democracy, for example, was extremely fragile when first practiced by the ancient Greeks, but is now much more stable, thousands of years later. Even so we still have a long ways to go.

Judas thought he could see from a higher angle than his Master – a common mistake made by disciples. He thought that Jesus was not doing what he came here to do and he would help him out. Because of ego a dark intelligence deceived him and convinced him he was in the light.

Question: If all the group had soul contact then how could Judas have betrayed his master?

Yes, they all had soul contact, even Judas. What made his betrayal so egregious is that he went against his own soul. When he did this, he lost his contact and became extremely depressed. This is one of the reasons he committed suicide.

The only thing the apostles knew was what they were taught by Jesus or that which they sought to know through the Oneness Principle. If they did not seek, they did not know.

Question: Will Judas reincarnate and pay off his karma?

Yes and if Judas comes back and does great acts of service this will be a great aid in paying off his karma. When he becomes a spiritual teacher he will probably have a trusted disciple betray him and then fully understand what he did to his master.

Question: Isn’t DK and other spiritual teachers being deceptive in presenting teachings that are obscure  and misinterpreted?

This is deception caused by our own selves, not the teacher. A conscious deception is one where the person purposefully gives false information to cause a wrong conclusion to be reached. An Algebra textbook is not deceptive because we do not understand it. We deceive ourselves about interpreting equations because we have not sufficiently applied ourselves.

I also didn’t understand much of DK when I first started reading him and still have much to learn, but I have always considered him an honest teacher.

Question: If Jesus could see into the future then why didn’t he take Judas aside and  set him straight?

Actually, I believe he did take Judas aside and talk to him about such things, but Judas defended himself and his ideas of what Jesus needed to do to bring the Kingdom of God.

A betrayal never helps a mission and Jesus could have accomplished more had Judas been faithful to the soul contact.

If Judas did not betray Jesus something or someone else would have probably yielded him to the authorities. In the off chance this did not happen his mission may have taken a different course. It was not so set in stone as many believe.

Judas believed he had a plan superior to his master and would have forced the hand of Jesus later if he was prevented at that time.

Question: Do you think that Judas had a good intention of forcing Jesus to demonstrate that he was the Messiah?

This is a popular view of scholars and I believe it has some truth in it. It is interesting that even the worst villains in history think with their ego that they are doing the right thing. It is only by maintaining consistent soul contact that we can see the correct step to take.

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality. Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)

The Gospel of Judas

The Gospel of Judas

Some are wondering about my views concerning the recently discovered Gospel of Judas that presents him as a good guy rather than a traitor.

I think the introduction of provocative ideas, even if they are incorrect, can accomplish a positive end if they get people talking and thinking. It is only when the pilgrim begins seek and differentiate that soul contact can be stimulated.

I first heard this idea that Judas was the greatest disciple about 40 years ago. I found it an interesting idea to contemplate at the time. There has always been a small segment of Christians who have believed that Judas made an ultimate sacrifice of his good name by cooperating with Jesus in a betrayal requested by the Master himself.

Then there is another group that believes that John the Beloved is the true traitor who cooperated with the Jewish authorities to put Jesus to death.

This old controversy around Judas will indeed be revived for a while because of the discovery of this manuscript. It has been long known that this manuscript existed but this, as well as all other threatening writings, were destroyed (or hidden) by the Roman church.

Scholars are dating the Judas manuscript to around 180 AD. Interestingly Irenaeus, an early Church writer commented on it. His comments carry weight because he was a disciple of Polycarp who legend says knew John the Beloved.

Here are the words of Irenaeus:

“Others again declare that Cain derived his being from the Power above, and acknowledge that Esau, Korah, the Sodomites, and all such persons, are related to themselves. On this account, they add, they have been assailed by the Creator, yet no one of them has suffered injury. For Sophia was in the habit of carrying off that which belonged to her from them to herself. They declare that Judas the traitor was thoroughly acquainted with these things, and that he alone, knowing the truth as no others did, accomplished the mystery of the betrayal; by him all things, both earthly and heavenly, were thus thrown into confusion. They produce a fictitious history of this kind, which they style the Gospel of Judas.”

There are several reasons that some have considered the premise of the Gospel of Judas to be true:

[1] People love a good conspiracy theory.

[2] The gospels indicate that Judas sat on the right hand of Jesus at the last supper. That seat was normally reserved for the host’s best friend at that time.

[3] Jesus seemed to know that Judas was going to betray him and told him to act quickly as he was leaving the group.

[4] It has always been known that certain early unorthodox groups believed Judas was a good guy.

One of the problems that beset disciples is that they have found so much truth in the unorthodox approach that some will automatically reject orthodox teachings. He must remember the principle of the Middle Way. Judgment must always be used when looking at both sides of the pendulum. One hundred percent truth is never found on either side.

I believe that Judas did betray his lord. Here are my logical reasons.

[1] It is very believable that one disciple out of twelve would betray his master. Almost every great teacher has a disciple who betrays him.

[2] We have the words of Jesus himself as quoted by John: “Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.” John 6:70-71

[3] Judas committed suicide right after the crucifixion. It is unlikely that he would have done this if he were a hero with a clear conscience.

[4] To arrange such a deception would have involved some dishonesty on the part of Jesus, which deception runs contrary to the total honesty practiced by the Christed ones.

He told his disciples: “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death.” Matthew 20:18

If Judas was merely obeying Jesus then he did not betray him and Jesus would have lied.

[5] The deception was not even necessary. The authorities were looking for Jesus and were eager to get their hands on him. Jesus could have sent a courier with a note telling them where he was and they would have eagerly pounced on him. There were many people who knew who he was and could have properly identified him.

[6] We are told that Judas complained on how the group spent their money indicating he was disgruntled. (see John 12:3-8)

[7] All villains are portrayed as heroes by a minority. Even to this day there are those who teach that Hitler was right up there with Jesus as being enlightened.

The National Geographic Channel is showing a special on the Gospel of Judas. I’ll be interested in watching it.

On another note, I was asked to expand on my statement that my inner Voice tells me to be concerned about the possibility of humanity destroying itself.

I am not saying that humans or animals will become extinct but that civilization is threatened. If we had a full-scale atomic war or used other WMDs it is possible that civilization as we know it could be destroyed as it has been several times in the past. We could lose all of our technology and be forced back into tribal living and again go through the stages of evolving a civilization.

If such destruction did come, we would regain our technology faster this time because in this round humanity has gained its progress on its own with minimal help from higher lives. We could be back where we are now in a thousand or fewer years rather than 10,000 years.

It is the goal of the spiritual hierarchy that we enter into the age of peace without destroying civilization so we can use the advances of humanity for our good. This way the human race can live in a period of much needed abundance and harmony to bring a rest to their souls. Technology can also free our hands from excessive labor in earning a living so we can have more time to concentrate on creative and spiritual activities.

It is most probable that civilization will remain intact as we progress into the new age, but its foundations will be shaken. Calamities of weather, earthquakes, disturbances will come to the extent that some will fear the end is near, but major earth changes will be held back until the gathering of lights is initiated. If disciples do their part the lights will have a safe haven from future disasters and be ready to claim the new lands that will eventually manifest.

Behind this mask is a man, and behind this man is an idea. And ideas are bulletproof. V From the Movie

V for Vendetta

V for Vendetta

We went to see the movie “V for Vendetta” today. I chose this one for several reasons.

First, it was written by the Wachowski Brothers. Name sound familiar? It should. They made the Matrix series. The Matrix is a favorite of many in this group as it injected mystery and philosophy into the script, which made many think more deeply about life than before.

I therefore expected this movie to provide a couple good hours of provoking entertainment. I was not disappointed.

The second reason I wanted to see this was because of the political and religious implications of the story line. It is quite possible that this movie will have a wide-ranging influence for either good or evil. I wanted to be able to judge accurately what that influence will be.

If we put politics and philosophy aside and judge it on objective quality and entertainment value then it was quite a good movie. Not as good as the first Matrix, but as good as the second and third ones. I would rate it three and a half stars out of four.

One thing that pleasantly surprised me was it contained more dialog and story line than pure action as is the case in so many movies today. The action sequences were great and more enjoyable because there were speaking parts and character development between them. We got to know V, his history and why he thinks and acts the way he does. Ironically, the hero V was played by Hugo Weaving who played Agent Smith, the arch villain in Matrix.

The second major character was Evey played by Natalie Portman who was Queen Padmé Naberrie in the Star Wars series. She was the love interest of Darth Vader and now she is the love interest of V. Her character was also well developed, as movies go, and we got to know her as a person.

The basic plot is this: The year is 2020 and America has basically collapsed as a superpower and is involved in a civil war, but not before it exported a virus to the corrupt English government which used it to kill 80,000 of its own people and then blame it on terrorists. The English were then willing to support a right wing Christian dictator who became a Hitler type figure in the movie. He particularly persecuted gays and people who have copies of the Koran.

V was a part of a forced medical experiment by the government and was horribly burned in a fire. He barely survived, but with a determination to destroy the government in the hopes that a better one would rise from its ashes.

His love interest, Evey, challenged this belief by saying that whenever she has seen a government destroyed it is replaced by something worse, not better. I found this to be one of the more profound statements in the movie.

This doesn’t shake V’s belief and goal which is to blow up both houses of Parliament on the 5th of November next which would be the anniversary of Guy Fawkes attempt to do this in 1607.

In fact, V patterned himself after Guy Fawkes and sought to consummate the failed goal that he had. He even wore a Guy Fawkes mask throughout the movie to hide his hideously burned face.

There are a number of things that bother me about this movie.

[1] This movie makes a terrorist appear to be a great hero at a time when terrorism is such a threat that it could destroy our society as we know it with something much worse than we have now to replace it. In fact, the movie was ready to be released last year around the time of the subway bombings, but was put on hold until the heat around that blew over. Here is a quote from V justifying his actions: “Blowing up a building can change the world.” Blowing up a building creates change all right, but it is usually for the worse. For example, the blowing up of the federal building in Oklahoma or the destruction of the Twin Towers didn’t improve the world for anyone. The trouble with such an effective and professional glorification of a terrorist is that it is likely to inspire some potential terrorists who are now on the fence.

Unfortunately, there are many people ignorant of what the Nazis were really like who equate the current government with Hitler’s Germany and would be happy to blow something up if it hurts political leaders they do not like. If this becomes a cult classic it could influence young people to become terrorists for generations to come. I think they could have made V a much greater hero if he used less violent methods to fight the government. For one thing, in one scene he took over the government controlled broadcasting and put his message of government corruption on TV to all the homes. With more of this type of creativity he could have been an example of a more positive way to fight injustice.

[2] The core idea behind the movie is laced with hypocrisy. It is this: V a cool philosopher, is like Guy Fawkes and is fighting against religious fanatics in government. The truth is that Guy Fawkes was a Catholic religious fanatic who was intolerant of the less suppressive Protestant rule in England and sought to put the Catholics back in power by blowing up Parliament. If he had succeeded the people would have suffered more oppression because the Catholics at the time were less tolerant and more rigid in their thought than the Protestants, who broke off from the mother Church to establish greater, not less freedom. It is thus ironical that V wants to fight fanatics by imitating a fanatic. To this day Guy Fawkes is seen as a villain by the English and each year they celebrate November 5th as Guy Fawkes Day. When I was there in the Sixties, they had great bonfires on every street burning effigies of Guy Fawkes. The smoke was so great it filled the air and created a mist over the land. Many also set off fireworks and this day was the closest thing they had to our Fourth of July, as far as celebration goes. I understand that because of pollution problems that there aren’t many bonfires any more, but it was quite a sight in the old days.

[3] This movie follows the Hollywood stereotype of right wing conservatives and business people making them look like the most evil people on the planet. They even had an evil talk show guy hooked on drugs that was supposed to be like Rush Limbaugh that V killed. What’s odd here is that most left leaning people who claim to be for peace will cheer V and his violent methods on through the movie, but the guy V is fighting is much more like Saddam Hussein than any Christian leader in the world. And what did the left do when Bush drove Saddam out of power? Did they cheer him on? Of course not. If they did not accept violence of war to remove Saddam then why accept the violence of V toward one who is not as bad as the former Iraqi dictator?

[4] Christians are slandered in the movie. First, they are portrayed as so intolerant that Christian leaders prohibit free speech and make it a crime to have a copy of the Koran. Christians have their faults, but there is no evidence that they would take things this far. Every President of the United States and most leaders in England have been Christians and none have shown such a tendency. On the other hand, many Muslim countries make it a crime to investigate or convert to Christianity, sometimes punishable by death. Christians are portrayed as so intolerant of gays that they are willing to persecute them unto prison and death. The truth is that again it is many Muslims, not Christians, who are willing to persecute gays. For example, it was the Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani of Iraq who said that “gays should be killed in the worst possible way”. It is true that many Christians are not accepting of the gay lifestyle, but few want them persecuted or imprisoned.

Conclusion: It is obvious that the intent of the writers was to create a movie that would warn us of steps we are now taking that could lead to a dictatorship. Unfortunately, they are warning us of branches of evil rather than the root. I guarantee that they who lean to the traditional left and support forced socialism and sympathize with communism will love the agenda of this movie. The ironical thing is that the Nazi type government which they profess to want to avoid is socialistic. Many forget that the Nazi party was called “National SOCIALISM.”

We are in much more danger of turning into Nazi’s through the creeping advance of forced socialism which ever increases our taxes and diminishes our freedoms. These advocates also seek to take away our freedom of speech by telling us what we can and cannot say in the form of what is politically correct. They even seek to control our thoughts by categorizing some crimes as “hate crimes” because of what the person was thinking when the crime was committed. This direction should terrify any freedom loving person.

Overall I loved the movie as entertainment, but am concerned that some 5th of November we will see another 911 calamity on TV which was inspired by it.

People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. A quote from “V” from the movie “Vendetta”.
