Dual Meanings

Dual Meanings

Question: Concerning Isaiah 14 where it talks about the fall of Lucifer you seem to go along with the standard interpretation of the fall of an angel whereas Bible scholars say it was symbolically referring to the King of Babylon. Which is correct?

Actually, both views are.

We must remember that the more inspired the words the greater the number of ways they can be interpreted. The fact that Isaiah’s words can be interpreted in so many ways is a strong indication that he is one of the deepest writers of all time.

DK himself said that Isaiah, Ezekiel and John the Beloved are the three greatest writers of the Bible.

Concerning them he wrote:

“Isaiah and Ezekiel are the only two of the Hebrew prophets who had true prophetic and cosmic vision. The others were small, but intelligent men who, from analysis and deduction, assessed the immediate future and indicated immediate possibilities. They had no direct revealing intuition. In the New Testament, John, the beloved disciple, was privileged to gain a cosmic picture and a true prophetic vision which he embodied in the Apocalypse, but he is the only one who so achieved and he achieved because he loved so deeply, so wisely and so inclusively. His intuition was evoked through the depth and intensity of his love-as it was in his Master, the Christ.” Glamour, A World Problem, Page 137

Many scholars in this age believe that John did not write the Apocalypse (The Book of Revelation), but here we are told by a Master of Wisdom that he indeed was the author.

Because Isaiah had a “cosmic vision” he was not only able to write with dual meaning, but his words also applied to multiple cycles of time. In other words, because history repeats itself, he was able to write to his present as well as the future, even our future, a time millennia away from him.

A book of Mormon Prophet writes:

“I did read unto them that which was written by the prophet Isaiah; for I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning.” I Nephi 19:23

Nephi here had the right idea in that he related the words of Isaiah to his people. This can be done in any cycle in which they apply.

Christ is quoted as saying:

“And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah.

“For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore it must needs be that he must speak also to the Gentiles.

And all things that he spake have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake.” 3 Nephi 23:1-3

The last verse in interesting in that it says that Isaiah’s words “have been and shall be.”

In other words, the great cycles of history will make his words come to pass again and again, but with different peoples and differing circumstances.

In speaking of Lucifer, God told Isaiah to “take up this proverb against the King of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! The golden city ceased!” Isa 14:4.

Thus we have evidence that the words Isaiah wrote were applicable to “the King of Babylon” who was meant to represent Lucifer in that age.

But there is evidence of his dual meaning in that Lucifer applies to something more than an earthly king:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isaiah 14:12-14

Note that Lucifer was a “son of the morning.” A son of the morning refers to the great archangels who assisted the Most High at the dawn of planetary creation.

Another clue is found in the words: “I will ascend into heaven.”

This would literally apply more to an archangel than an earthly king, but could figuratively apply to a mortal.

Also: “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.”

Again, we have a dual meaning where his words could apply to a fallen angel.

Concerning the fall of Lucifer DK wrote: “Again, in the council chamber of the Most High, there has not always been peace and understanding, but at times, war and disruption; this is made abundantly clear by several of the stories in the Old Testament. Symbolically speaking, some of the sons of God fell from their high estate, led, at one time, by “Lucifer, Son of the Morning”. This “fall of the angels” was a tremendous event in the history of our planet, but was nevertheless only a passing and interesting phenomenon in the history of the solar system, and a trifling incident in the affairs of the seven constellations, of which our solar system is but one. Pause and consider this statement for a moment, and so readjust your sense of values.” Esoteric Psychology, Vol 1, Page 394

Reader Comment: ….for the briefest moment (as in a nanosecond) I had a brief flash of what it would be like for me…as a man to discern “good from evil” and “know it” not as “a man” (or I presently) knows “good and evil”, but as (a) God would/might…more towards the feeling of “an asurety or a level of confidence…it wasn’t a feeling of “power”, but more towards one of “sweet/delightful joy”… …sorry, it didn’t last all that long, and even when I went back and read it again, I didn’t “feel” the same thing…and that’s okay as what was left was “a belief” that it was possible…and also that my present level of discernment of what is “good and/or evil” (or the difference) is still…well, “lacking”…

JJ: This is a great description of the holy instant where the seeker, after a period of contemplation, finds a trigger that projects him into the “eternal now.” This is accomplished through the door of the soul and brings access to knowledge of all true laws and principles.

Because the experience happens in timelessness it does seem less than a “nanosecond,” as he says, and when the pilgrim comes back to time and space it seems so fleeting that he wonders if it wasn’t just his imagination getting the best of him. In fact many dismiss it as imagination and lose it completely and do not re-experience it for some time to come.

The disciple must realize he has had an incident through soul contact and take the time to contemplate immediately after the experience and retrieve for the physical brain as much knowledge as possible. He should write all his thoughts down else he may lose them for they are often fleeting.

The first time or two it may not be much more than outside of an awareness that he had access to something wonderful, but just can’t remember what that wonderful thing was.

The eternal principle is this. “Energy follows thought.” If the seeker places much thought and attention on experiences like these then energy will flow into it and each time it happens he will retrieve greater and greater quantums of knowledge until at long last he can access the “rain cloud of knowable things” at will and comprehension of all laws and principles will be available to him, should he seek to know them and bring them down to the physical plane.

Answers to Bailey Critics, Part 3

Answers to Bailey Critics, Part 3
Lucifer Publishing

Distortion Number 4.

Alice A. Bailey’s publishing company, now called Lucis Trust, was originally called Lucifer Publishing Company. This proves she is in league with the devil.

This is the only criticism of Alice A. Bailey that, on the surface, has any validity, but that which appears on the surface is not always as it seems.

Alice A. Bailey was among other things originally a born-again Christian minister and a strong believer in Christ – so why would she choose such a name?

The answer is that she was a serious student of the writings and works of H. P. Blavatsky and she had a magazine she named Lucifer. I believe this inspired Bailey to also use the name.

The next question is why did H. P. Blavatsky use this name?

The answer is this. When H. P. Blavatsky began her work she suffered vicious attacks by the Christian communities. She viewed the churches as corrupt institutions and sometimes made fun of them in their illusions.

Blavatsky then came up with the ultimate idea of tweaking her enemies’ emotions. She named her magazine Lucifer. This sealed her doom in the eyes of her opposition, for surely this was an open admission that she was in league with the devil himself.

But was it?

No, not by any means.

Why?

The answer will surprise most Bible readers and it is this:

Lucifer is NOT the name of Satan, any devils or adversaries of love and light.

Who does bear the name then?

According to the Bible it is Christ and the redeemed. Peter also used the name in a positive light.

But aren’t we told that the one who fell was called Lucifer?

Answer: Yes, we are told that, but that was his name BEFORE he fell when he was a bringer of light. Now one of his current titles is the “Prince of Darkness,” a much different title than “Prince of Light” or “Bringer of Light,” which is the meaning of the title Lucifer.

Here are some words from none other than Peter:

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” II Peter 1:19

The words “day star” is taken from the Greek word for Lucifer which is PHŌSPHOROS.

Now let us literally retranslate:

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and Lucifer arise in your hearts.”

If Lucifer refers to the devil himself maybe the Christian world should burn their Bibles.

Another variation of Lucifer is “Morning Star.” Note the actual promise of Jesus to the faithful:

“And I will give him the morning star.” Rev 2:28

Evidently Jesus will give us the power of Lucifer.

Even more shocking Jesus calls himself a Lucifer:

“I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Rev 22:16

Let us literally retranslate this:

“I am the root and the offspring of David, and Lucifer.” Rev 22:16

Morning Star is only translated as Lucifer once in most Bibles as follows:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.” Isaiah 14:12-13

Even here most Bible scholars believe Lucifer refers to the king of Babylon which was addressed by Isaiah. Nevertheless, Isaiah often spoke with dual meaning and this has a definite correspondence to a fallen being.

Lucifer is a Roman word applied to the Hebrew HEYLEL and the GREEK PHOSPHOROS which literally means “One who brings or carries forth light.” It could also be translated as “one who is able to hold light.”

Now let us see what the Mormon scriptures tell us about this name. The name is only used once here:

“And this we saw also, and bear record, that an angel of God who was in authority in the presence of God, who rebelled against the Only Begotten Son whom the Father loved and who was in the bosom of the Father, was thrust down from the presence of God and the Son. And was called Perdition, for the heavens wept over him–he WAS (but not now) Lucifer, a son of the morning. And we beheld, and lo, he is fallen! is fallen, even a son of the morning!” D&C 76:25-27

Notice here that Lucifer was “a” son of the Morning, NOT “the” Son of the Morning.”

Also notice that it says he “was” Lucifer not “is.”

He is fallen and no longer can be called a “Son of the Morning.”

What is a Son of the Morning?

It is a being who was with God at the beginning, or morning, of time, as we know it.

The name, Lucifer, which refers to a Son of the Morning, is not the name of one evil being, but is a reference to pristine and holy ancient beings who were conscious creators before this earth rolled into existence.

Here is another reference from the Bible to the Lucifers:

“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars (Lucifers) sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job38:4-7

Now here is a thought. If the Lucifer that fell lost his status and there is more than one Lucifer (or bringer of light) – that means there would be good ones out there somewhere.

Lucifer also refers to Venus and for good reason. It has been called the bright and morning star for thousands of years. When it is visible it will often be the only star (or planet) visible in the early morning light – this the bringer of the new light of the morning.

Early Mormon doctrine expressed the belief that the first man (the first Adam) came from another planet and that he had already passed through human existence and had overcome all things and became exalted. After he came here he took upon himself mortality to become the father of the race of mankind.

Brigham Young made the statement that Adam was our God, “the only God with whom we have to do.”

This harmonizes well with the writings of Bailey and Blavatsky who also teach that the first man came from another planet. They tell us that the Ancient of Days, Sanat Kumara, came here from Venus (the morning star) 23 million years ago.

They also teach that he once lived as a mortal man like ourselves in another system eons ago and came here to be a father and God to the human race.

When the ancient of days came here he arrived with a number of morning stars called Kumaras. Here are Alice A. Bailey’s writings about the one who we call the fallen Lucifer:

“In every grouping,-whether in heaven or on earth-there is always evidenced a tendency by some units in the group to revolt, to rebel and to show some form of initiative different to that of the other units in the same grouping. When our solar universe came into being, we are told in the allegorical language of the ancient scriptures, there “was war in Heaven”; “the sun and his seven brothers” did not function with true unanimity; hence (and herein lies a hint) our Earth is not one of the seven sacred planets. There is, as we know, the ancient legend of the lost Pleiade, and there are many such stories.

“Again, in the council chamber of the Most High, there has not always been peace and understanding, but at times, war and disruption; this is made abundantly clear by several of the stories in the Old Testament. Pause and consider this statement for a moment, and so readjust your sense of values. The standard of happenings varies in importance according to the angle of vision, and what (from the angle of our Earth’s unfoldment in consciousness) may be a factor of prime importance and of determining value may (from the angle of the universe) be of trifling moment.” Esoteric Psychology, Vol 1, Page 394

Because the name Lucifer is now so rigidly associated with evil instead of light few dare use the term openly, but originally Lucifer was a glorious title.

Even though they were technically correct and solidly in the light in the light to use the word, it was indeed not good public relations for H. P. Blavatsky or Alice A. Bailey to use this name, which is so misunderstood by humanity and Bailey was wise to drop its use.

The War in Heaven

The War in Heaven

Question: As a Mormon I was taught about a great war in heaven where Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven to the Earth. Could you give us your views on this?

Let me first briefly sum up the Mormon view on this concept. It goes something like this.

In the beginning of creation God put together a plan for created Spirits to come to the earth to receive experience, physical bodies and redemption. A council was called and two plans emerged. The first supposed by Jesus was to allow people to have free agency, but because of their agency, sin and risk would come into the world. Jesus volunteered to come as the saviour to redeem humanity from sin.

Lucifer supported a different idea which was to take away free agency and make it impossible to sin thus not a single soul would become entrenched in sin because such a deviation would not be allowed.

God chose the plan of freedom presented by Jesus and one third of the hosts of heaven rebelled.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Rev 12:7-9

The belief is that Satan and a third of the souls intended for birth were cast out of heaven to the earth and as punishment were not allowed to be born or obtain physical bodies. They are said to wander the earth and whisper in people’s ears tempting them to do evil.

The ancient wisdom presents similar concepts but with interesting differences. It goes like this.

In the beginning of creation there were 90 billion monads that were commanded by God to take bodies and evolve through a series of lives upon the earth. One third, or 30 billion refused. They preferred to remain in “pralayic peace” until the “seventh aeon.”

In other words, this rebellious third wanted the others go do the hard work, and then when peaceful enlightened conditions were achieved on the earth they would come down and enjoy the fruits of the labor of others.

This did not harmonize with the Great Plan and instead of granting the will of the rebels it is written:

“But the seven great Lords called to the greater Chohans, and with the eternal Lhas of the third cosmic heaven entered into debate.

“The dictum then went forth. The laggards in the highest sphere heard it echo through the scheme. “Not till the seventh aeon, but at the fourteenth seventh will the chance again come round. The first shall be the last and time be lost for aeons.”

“The obedient Sons of Mind connected with the Sons of Heart, and evolution spiralled on its way.” Treatise on Cosmic Fire Page 26

So instead of not participating for seven aeons these 30 billion souls were denied bodies for 14 times 7 or 98 aeons. This will be billions of years in our time.

Whereas Mormons present the idea that there are 10 billion or so fallen angels who have never incarnated and roaming the earth whispering in our ears, the Ancient Wisdom tells us that most of what religious people think are evil spirits are our own thought forms, or our dweller as we have been discussing. There are also people of low vibration who have died and either dwell in or left behind astral shells which can gravitate to people of similar vibration. For instance a dead alcoholic may hover around an alcoholic on the earth seeking to experience again the physical addition.

The Ancient Wisdom also teaches about the Dark Brotherhood, but most of these have once had bodies upon the earth and have chosen the path of extreme selfishness. Instead of numbering in the billions these wayward souls, these are few in number, but powerful and work mainly through the corrupt in the circles of the rich and powerful. Because many people mindlessly fall for their deceptions the Dark Brotherhood often seems to have greater power than the Brotherhood of Light, but this is temporary.

One thing that does correspond is this. The Mormons teach that the great controversy between good and evil is over the principle of free agency. The Ancient Wisdom also teaches this, but with a difference. Instead of being the controversy separating the third that fell it is the controversy between the Brotherhood of Light and the Dark Brotherhood as they currently exist on the earth. The pilgrim who seeks to take away the agency of others is in danger of the dark path whereas he who seeks to expand the principle of freedom is taking a most important step to tread the path of light.

Concerning the name Lucifer there are many misunderstandings about the word. Below is part of a previous article I wrote on the subject.

The Bible itself uses the name in a positive light. Here are some words from none other than Peter: “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” II Peter 1:19

The words “day star” is taken from the Greek word for Lucifer which is PHOSPHOROS.

Now let us retranslate:

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and Lucifer arise in your hearts.”

If Lucifer refers to the devil himself maybe the Christian world should burn their Bibles.

Another variation of Lucifer is Morning star. Note the actual promise of Jesus to the faithful: “And I will give him the morning star.” Rev 2:28

Evidently Jesus will give us the power of Lucifer.

Even more shocking Jesus calls himself a Lucifer:

“I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Rev 22:16

Let us retranslate this: “I am the root and the offspring of David, and Lucifer.” Rev 22:16

Morning Star is only translated as Lucifer once in most Bibles as follows:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Outside of Isaiah the name is only used once here:

D&C 76:25 And this we saw also, and bear record, that an angel of God who was in authority in the presence of God, who rebelled against the Only Begotten Son whom the Father loved and who was in the bosom of the Father, was thrust down from the presence of God and the Son.

D&C 76:26 And was called Perdition, for the heavens wept over him–he was Lucifer, a son of the morning.

D&C 76:27 And we beheld, and lo, he is fallen! is fallen, even a son of the morning!

Notice her that Lucifer was “a” son of the Morning, NOT “the” Son of the Morning.”

Also notice that it says he “was” Lucifer not “is.”

He is fallen and no longer can be called a “Son of the Morning.”

What is a son of the morning?

It is a being who was with God at the beginning, or morning, of time as we know it.

The name, Lucifer, which refers to a son of the morning, is not the name of one evil being, but is a reference to pristine and holy ancient beings who were conscious creators before this earth rolled into existence.

Here is another reference to the Lucifers:

Job38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Job38:5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

Job38:6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; Job38:7 When the morning stars (Lucifers) sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Now here is a thought. If the Lucifer that fell lost his status and there is more than one Lucifer (or bringer of light) – that means there may be some good ones out there somewhere.

Lucifer also refers to Venus and for good reason. It has been called the bright and Morning star for thousands of years. When it is visible it will often be the only star (or planet) visible in the early morning light.

Brigham Young made the interesting statement that the first man (the first Adam) came from another planet and that he had already passed through human existence and had overcome all things and became exalted. After he came here he took upon himself mortality to father the race of mankind.

Then he also made the statement that Adam was our God, “the only God with whom we have to do.”

This harmonizes well with the writings of Alice A. Bailey who also taught that the first man came from another planet. They tell us that the Ancient of Days, Sanat Kumara, came here from Venus (the morning star) 23 million years ago.

They also teach that he once lived as a mortal man like ourselves in another system eons ago and came here to be a father and God to the human race.

Because the name Lucifer is now so rigidly associated with evil instead of light few dare use the term openly, but originally Lucifer was a glorious title.

Even now it is a glorious thing to bring light to others. This principle is behind the entire concept of salvation as we covered earlier.

The Alice A. Bailey Writings

The Alice A. Bailey Writings

An LDS reader expressed concerns about some negative material that she read about Alice A. Bailey and Lucis Trust.

You must look at Alice A. Bailey critics in a similar vein as you do Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith critics. You know from your experience that they use half truths and completely distort teachings and doctrinal positions.

Enemies of light do the same thing with Alice A. Bailey writings as I am sure they will do with my own when I get better known.

There is no evidence whatsoever that David Rockefeller has anything to do with Lucis Trust. They have published all members of the corporation and all positions and I have never seen his name on any group.

Secondly, the Lucis Trust has had an enormous struggle for money clear from the beginning. They have barely enough to publish their books and pay their staff. They have been wanting to get on a radio station for decades and have just now managed to get on one station. That gives you an idea of the funds they are working with.

Do you think this would be the case if David Rockefeller and a vast wealthy conspiracy were behind the teachings?

I don’t think so. If the Rockefeller wanted this to succeed it would have plenty of money to get on the air and promote its cause.

As far as the name Lucifer is concerned. I have heard enemies claim that was the original name of Lucis trust and this may be true. Madame Blavatsky originally called one of her publications by this name to tweak her enemies. You must keep in mind that when one is released from dogma that the name Lucifer is a high and holy name which means “Bringer of Light.” This is why both Jesus and Peter in the New Testament are called Lucifers.

The fact few realize is that he who fell is no longer called by this title as hinted at in the D&C. Below I am sending you the text of some of my comments on this I wrote on this earlier. You will see there that Alice A. Bailey taught of a Lucifer who did fall who was a close associate of the Ancient of Days or Sanat Kumara.

Yes, Sanat could be conjured as a scrambling of Satan, but there is one great difference. Satan has a hard “a” and Sanat is pronounced softly. Hard a’s are connected with destroying energy and the soft with building.

For instance the word America has soft a’s and was intentionally promoted by the Brotherhood so our country could be created with a spiritual building energy.

Darkness often takes that which is good and distorts or reverses it.

Thus we have Lucifer changed from Lightbringer to a reference to the prince of darkness. We have Sanat turned from a building energy to the destroying sound of Satan.

As far as saying one is subject to the devil because he claims to be subject to the Lord of the World is misled (referring to Satan being called the god of this world) Paul was making a point that people choose evil more than good.

Now look at these scriptures:

“The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.” Psalms 97:5

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isa 6:3

“For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” Isa 54:5

“Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.” Micah 4:13

“Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.” Zech 4:14

From a higher point of view the God of Glory and Light and Truth and Love is the real God of the planet. It merely appears that evil is in control.

As far as the Masonic Lodges are concerned Alice A. Bailey taught just as Joseph Smith did, that they were inspired in the beginning but are corrupted, but eventually will be restored as a useful tool of the brotherhood. Remember Joseph Smith was a Master Mason.

Every possible tool will be used to help the race including schools and churches. Many of the churches are making progress. For Instance, the Catholics have done a lot of good in Central America over the past twenty years and some have give their lives for the cause of freedom.

This black and white labeling of someone or something as all evil because of association is a favorite tool of darkness.

I am also including below page 107 from The Externalization of the Hierarchy. Read it over and I think you’ll see nothing to be alarmed about. In fact once you have read the whole book it is as difficult to call these writings evil as it would be the Bible, or the Book of Mormon you reverence.

Things are never as they seem on the surface and just as the revelations of Joseph Smith stirred things up and caused men to call good evil so will be the case with all teachings until the light of God is anchored on the earth.

When questions like this come up it is good to look to the following principle revealed in Ether:

“But he that believeth these things which I have spoken, him will I visit with the manifestations of my Spirit, and he shall know and bear record. For because of my Spirit he shall know that these things are true; for it persuadeth men to do good.

“And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me; for good cometh of none save it be of me. I am the same that leadeth men to all good; he that will not believe my words will not believe me–that I am; and he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world.” Ether 4:11-12

Darkness never seeks to persuade people to follow light and love.

The final test is the Spirit itself. Study things out in your mind and then ask God. Ask God about me and any teaching that I or any other presents and feels what the spirit speaks inside to you. But one must study with an open mind as a little child.

This is one thing I notice that is lacking with many ex Mormons. Anything that goes contrary to their past beliefs they do not seem to study it out and seek an answer from Spirit. This is a core principle for a true seeker.

The second time was at the time of the struggle in Atlantean days between the “Lords of Light and the Lords of Material Expression.”

This little known divine energy now streams out from Shamballa. It embodies in itself the energy which lies behind the world crisis of the moment. It is the Will of God to produce certain racial and momentous changes in the consciousness of the race which will completely alter man’s attitude to life and his grasp of the spiritual, esoteric and subjective essentials of living. It is this force which will bring about (in conjunction with the energy of love) that tremendous crisisimminent in the human consciousnesswhich we call the second crisis, the initiation of the race into the Mystery of the Ages, into that which has been hid from the beginning.

It might be of value here if we considered the three great planetary centres and their relationships in tabular form and thus get the general idea more clearly in mind.

  1. SHAMBALLA Will or Power Planetary Head Centre

The Holy City Purpose..Plan   spiritual pineal gland

                              Life Aspect

Ruler:  Sanat Kumara, the Lord of the World

                             the Ancient of Days

                              Melchizedek

  1. THE HIERARCHY Love-Wisdom Planetary Heart Centre

      The New Jerusalem    Unity   At-one-ment

                              Group Consciousness

                        Ruler:  The Christ

                              The World Saviour

  1. HUMANITY Active Intelligence      Planetary Throat Centre

      The City, standing

      foursquare      Creativity

                              Self-consciousness

                        Ruler:  Lucifer (Light and Truth)

Son of the Morning (Before the Fall)

The Prodigal Son (After the Fall)

This Shamballa energy now for the first time is making its impact upon humanity directly and is not stepped down, as has hitherto been the case, through transmission via the Hierarchy of Masters. This change of direction constituted a somewhat dangerous experiment as it necessarily stimulated the personalities of men, particularly those whose personalities were along the line of will or power and in whom the love aspect of divinity was not sufficiently expressing itself; it was, however, permitted because it was realised that it would not affect the man in the street or the masses who would remain unresponsive to it, though it might greatly stimulate and intensify the mental and more potent type of man.

Morning Stars

Morning Stars

A Mormon reader asked me to elaborate on the Bailey teachings linked to Lucifer.

Since he is from a Mormon background he might be interested in knowing that Joseph Smith has been criticized for a similar reason.

He was a Master Mason and within some of the inner Masonic teachings Lucifer is presented in a positive light.

Not only that, but the Bible itself uses the name in a positive light. Here are some words from none other than Peter:

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” II Peter 1:19

Note the actual promise of Jesus to the faithful:

“And I will give him the morning star.” Rev 2:28

Evidently Jesus will give us the power of Lucifer.

Even more shocking Jesus calls himself a Lucifer:

“I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Rev 22:16

Let us retranslate this:

“I am the root and the offspring of David, and Lucifer.” Rev 22:16

Morning Star is only translated as Lucifer once in most Bibles as follows:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Outside of Isaiah the name is only used once here:

“And this we saw also, and bear record, that an angel of God who was in authority in the presence of God, who rebelled against the Only Begotten Son whom the Father loved and who was in the bosom of the Father, was thrust down from the presence of God and the Son.

“And was called Perdition, for the heavens wept over him–he was Lucifer, a son of the morning. And we beheld, and lo, he is fallen! is fallen, even a son of the morning!” D&C 76:25-27

“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars (Lucifers) sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job 38:4-7

Now here is a thought. If the Lucifer that fell lost his status and there is more than one Lucifer (or bringer of light) – that means there may be some good ones out there somewhere.

Lucifer also refers to Venus and for good reason. It has been called the bright and Morning star for thousands of years. When it is visible it will often be the only star (or planet) to be seen in the early morning light.

Here is Alice A. baileys writings about the one who we call the fallen Lucifer:

Even now it is a glorious thing to bring light to others. This principle is behind the entire concept of salvation as we covered earlier.

Rebel Lightbringers

This entry is part 24 of 34 in the series 2010B

Concerning the search feature for Freeread…

It works fine on the recent archives but the older ones are in a database and presently not accessible for searching.  I’ll see if I can find a search program that will work.  I’ll update you soon on this.

One of the problems in understanding Lucifer and the fall of angels lies with the meaning and application of the word itself.

Lucifer means “Lightbringer” and is also translated as “Day Star’ and Morning Star in the Bible.  All the bringers of light and truth in the universe are Lucifers, but not all of them rebeled or fell, and became adversaries or Satans.

In every level of intelligent existence there is some level of disagreement among the lightbringers. This “fall” from the divine council chambers not only happened on earth, but also in the chambers of the Solar Logos and higher.  Our Ancient of Days is somewhat of a rebel and this is one reason the earth is not yet a sacred planet.  He is taking us on a non standard route of progression and has provided humanity with extra stimulus causing us to evolve more quickly than we otherwise would have.  If this route had not been taken the average human would be like a native in a jungle.

There was risk in this move in that we could wind up destroying ourselves with knowledge gained too quickly.  There is also the possibility of a great payoff.  Our Logos took a risk that others shied away from and thus he was out of sync with his own higher council chamber.

Even so, the intent of his end game was in harmony with his higher ups.

From this angle of vision our Logos and all of humanity are fallen angels.  In other words, we have fallen off the trail and are attempting to find a shortcut to the end of the path.

Then within the Council Chamber of our own Logos we have a group of very high Kumaras which have all lived on other planets and mastered the physical plane.  In this group our Logos has his own rebels to deal with.  The problem there has filtered down to us as a fight between the left and right in the political spectrum. Where is the right balance in law and freedom?  How much freedom can humanity be entrusted with?  Was allowing them the freedom to obtain the atomic bomb a major mistake or a necessary evil?

Finally among humanity we have our own fallen Lucifers.  A dark brother can only evolve out of the lightbringers of humanity.  It is only when the third initiation is approached and the pilgrim is a light to his fellow men that the dark path can be chosen.

We thus have “fallen” lightbringers among the gods and even humanity itself.  The higher rebels are not evil as we understand the term but have advanced beyond what we see as evil.  The rebel lightbringers that came from humanity are very evil, however, and seek to take away the free will of humanity.  The problem on the higher levels is not so black and white but a matter of judgment and the degree of assistance that humanity should be given as well as the constraints and limitations that should be applied.

Thus when the various teachers past threw out words like “devil,” Satan, Lucifer etc they were loosely referring to forces that resist the good, the beautiful and the true and did not understand what was behind the apparent evil.

Seeing Eye to Eye

Thanks to the group for your thoughtful comments.  It always helps when I ask a question that invites group response.  Maybe I should do more of that on this site since the more activity we have here the better will be our ratings with search engines.

Even though it was a hassle to change servers and transfer information I think the extra activity here will pay off in the long run.  WordPress also keeps updated on the latest programming technology so we won’t be left behind as the web progresses.

Larry W made a comment that deserves some attention.  He surmised that third degree initiates and higher are pretty much in agreement.  So, is this a true statement and if so what is the principle involved?

The answer is that from the perspective of normal human consciousness this is true, but from a higher perspective it is not.  Let me explain.

The principle is this.  People agree consistently on that which they understand. If a subject or idea is below the level of understanding of those seeking union then there is likely to be disagreement.

It is interesting to note, however, that two can agree on a falsehood.  In this case the union of thought comes not from understanding but from either wrong mutual perception or the acceptance of an outside authority who is in illusion. If the authority changes his mind the followers will normally be united in changing their minds also.

In the days of Galileo the church members as a whole were united in the idea that the earth was the center of the universe and the sun circled around it.  They “knew” this for two reasons.  First, they could see the sun moving around the earth each day and secondly the Vatican Scientists stated that this was both scientific and spiritual fact.

Their authorities wee wrong as well as their perceptions so they were united in illusion.  The goal, however, is not to be united in illusion, but in truth.  This is only achieved consistently through a mutual understanding or shared vision of the real.

As people advance in their spiritual evolution they become united in a larger number of shared truths.

Average people can now understand that the earth circles the sun, that 2+2=4, that human slavery is undesirable, that basic freedom of speech is good, getting an education is a good thing and numerous other items.

As we move up the scale of thought there is less agreement among the masses, but agreement is still to be found among the thinkers.

The first initiation pertains to the physical plane and physical desires.  These initiates will tend to agree on diet, exercise and sex.

The second initiation is centered on mastery of the emotional nature so these individual will extend their agreement to values centered on the feeling nature.  They will agree on the importance of taking personal responsibility, the ingredients of success, love and relationships to name a few.

They will agree on physical and emotional values yet still have disagreements on the plane of the mind and have differing philosophies.

The third degree initiate masters illusion on the plane of the mind so two such initiates, even with widely different backgrounds and belief systems, can sit down and reason together and see the logic in each others’ thought. If one is able to bring forth facts, reason and logic that differs with the others’ beliefs then he will consider the new information and will not reactively reject it.

So do the higher initiates agree on everything?

No.

Why not?

Because no matter how high you get, there are many unknowns to be discovered.  Even though they have solved illusion on the plane of the mind, there are still many things unknown to them and with such unknowns they can only theorize and guess about all the truth involved.

Not knowing an unknown is not illusion if you know you do not know.  If you do not know how many beans are in a jar you know you do not know and there is no illusion.  If you think you have some special gift to guess the correct number of beans, then that is illusion. The many are in illusion because they accept certain things as fact that are not facts and they do not know that they do not know.

When the archangel Lucifer fell from heaven he did not sink into illusion as we understand it but was part of a group seeking solutions to the advancement of humanity, a project with many un known’s to the group.  He therefore thought that he could devise a plan as good as his elder brothers.  He liked his ideas better than theirs and went with them and drew many after him.  Since there could only be one master plan for the whole of the human race a plan was accepted and he was overruled.  He has been seeking to prove he was right ever since.

As entities progress they will agree on lessons learned and truths understood, but their disagreements will become more complex as they strive to achieve their next level of understanding and expand their own ring-pass-not.

Before I comment more on yesterday’s post let us expand the search for political initiates.  The group has only mentioned people in the USA.  How about the rest of the world and political thinkers who are not politicians?

Dark Brothers and Dark Matter

This entry is part 29 of 34 in the series 2010B

A reader asks:  “if being a Satan or ‘the tempter’ is a step in the evolution of someone’s eternal path. Not that one is called to be a tempter but if it naturally happens in the course of one’s progression…Is there a Satan role during our eternal paths?

JJ
This is an interesting question.  In other words, are all of us destined to be a devil before we become one with God?

The answer is yes and no.  As we make the long journey to the feet of God we all go through periods of great selfishness and do some pretty devilish things and cause a lot of hurt along the way.  We also become tempters and lead many astray with us. Does this mean that we all eventually spend an eon as a dark brother at some time or another?

No.  Most of us learn our lesson as karma forces us to see the results of our bad behavior.  Only a handful proceed onward on the dark path despite all the warnings and attempts by the soul to turn the entity around.

The teaching seems to be presented by all the prophets, scriptures and masters that when we reach a certain degree of progression that we will be “saved” or dwell in the light forever onward.  But then we read of how Lucifer, a son of he Morning, rebels against God and was thrown out of heaven and apparently became Satan.

Now this being was of a celestial nature and a son of God as we hope to become, yet he fell.  Does this mean that after all our efforts of finally achieving liberation that we could still blow it and become a Satan?  That doesn’t seem to quite jive with the promises of eternal life as most understand them.

This is an area tat has never been cleared up by any teacher that I know of.  Here are several points that should help.

After liberation we do not lose our free agency.  We still have power to choose and the choice always leads to higher and lower paths.  The difference between humanity and those in the kingdom of God is the Higher Lives have learned certain lessons and know better than to revert to known errors.  For instance, the hiker who gets exposed to poison ivy will avoid it in the future.

Those who have gained entrance to the Council Chambers of the Most High have learned certain lessons and there are many errors that they will not repeat.  Even so, on a higher level of thinking where new concepts are being considered there will not always be agreement.  Therefore, even a liberated soul, such as a Son of the Morning can disagree and present his own ideas that may not be in harmony with his master.

When a liberated soul falls out of alignment with his brothers he does not descend to the lowest realms of darkness but continues to move forward the plan as he understands it.  The Dark Brotherhood evolved from beings on this earth and not from the Council Chambers of the Most High.  A fallen archangel may use the forces of darkness but in his mind he is still moving the work of God forward.

Good and evil as it plays out with liberated beings is a much different thing than good and evil as humanity sees it as it pertains to them.

We never arrive at a point where we will be totally free from mistakes for all eternity.  We learn by making mistakes and this principle even applies to Christ, the Planetary Logos and on up.

Here’s another question from QuasarAZx
I am an amateur astronomer and was wondering if the JJ could explain what dark matter is which is a theory about missing matter in galaxies. Dark matter is thought to make up the missing matter.

JJ
Nathan showed some good thinking in indicating that dark matter and regular matter represent male and female polarities.

Scientists believe that there is dark matter because there are gravitational pulls in the universe that cannot be explained by the gravity of regular matter.  Even though they cannot find this elusive matter they believe that 80% of the matter in the universe is this dark, or unseen matter.

Does such matter really exist?  Yes, but it is not dark, but very light compared to our own.  There is much matter in the universe that science has not discovered and this is clearly taught by the Ancient Wisdom.  First we have the matter of the etheric plane.  Next up we have astral matter and then mental matter.  Above this we have undifferentiated matter.  All this matter and life from unseen worlds has an effect on life, form and matter in this plane.

Science will find dark matter when they discover that there are co-existing dimensions that interplay with us and effect us.
