Pain and Suffering

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual & Metaphysical Quotes

1.  “Because we are not paying attention the only way the soul can get our attention is through pain. That pain comes in diverse ways. Through the pain of disease, through some accidents, through broken relationships and so on.”

The result is a continuation of a lot of pain and suffering that just does not seem to go away.”

24.  “Realizing your own responsibility for reality erases the pain of the past, but one has to raise consciousness above the astral zone to apply this principle.”

25.  “Certain advances in the evolution of humanity have been decreed and if we get lazy and do not do our part then painful experience will befall the earth forcing us to move ahead.”

26.  “Even though some truths may be painful for us to accept, when it is accepted there is a certain peace associated with it.”

27.  “The misuse of the inner flame is the cause of much persecution suffered by all holy men and groups in all the ages passed.”

32.  “Resistance of some kind causes all pain.”

33.  “The job of the disciple is to assist the students through the learning so they become masters of their situations and pain is replaced by joy.”

34.  “Those suffering from their own mistakes may see God as a vengeful being who is punishing them but instead they are merely reaping what they have sown.”

35.  “Rather than being an enemy, pain is a teacher sent to us to lead us to correction and eventual oneness with God.”

Past, Present and Future

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual & Metaphysical Quotes

From The Writings Of JJ Dewey

1.  “The present as we understand it is not a point, but a package or quantum of time which is composed of past, present and future.”

2.  “The forces of darkness and the thoughtforms of the past always attack and attempt to prevent a gathering of lights and the enlightened changes of an approaching future.”

3.  “In a past age, in the days of Atlantis, the ending was a different story. Hitler was the leader of the Lords of Dark Face and his dark forces won the Great War against the forces of light. This led to the total destruction of that great continent.”

4.  “You cannot change the future because there is nothing to change. The future is not here yet.”

5.  “Prayer, thought, virtually nothing can change the past, but the effect of the past can be changed so the negativity will have no emotional effect on us.

6.  “If you review the past in your mind and alter it through visualization you can create a more positive reality for yourself in the present. To avoid illusion it is important that you realize you are not changing the past, but changing the effects of the past.”

7.  “When we look on the past the future often reveals the illusions of the past and when such illusions are revealed all of us in the present tend to look on the people of the past as being primitive–not realizing that many of us would have been as duped as they were if we had been there. A thousand years ago many of us would have blindly accepted the decree of the Pope that the world was flat. This is an important point to remember when seeking the truth in the present.”

8.  “Consciousness cannot live in the present for the present cannot exist without the future and the past.”

9.  “Present time is created through the interplay of past time and future time just as soul is the creation of matter (a past creation) and Spirit (perfect future creation).”

10.  “For average man the past always has a stronger pull than the future.”

11.  “What would happen if there were no past or future?  Answer:  There would also be no present for the present is the interaction of the two.”

12.  “Everything that exists in the present is here. The future is not here and all the causes of the future have not yet manifest.”

13.  “The future is the future and only generalities are available to us in the present.”

14.  “We only have infinite [or unlimited] potential if we have power to mold the future.”

15.  “The truth is we never see the present, but always see the past. The past is the only thing that can be registered by our consciousness.”

16.  “Now what would happen if we were able to perceive all things and saw the true present? What would we see?

17.  “Just like you can’t see the exact center of a circle you can’t see the present. You only see a quantum of time where the past has taken formation.”

18.  “Our vision of the present is distorted by mingling it with the past, and the present is further distorted by imperfect memory bringing a distorted past forward as a cloudy filter, making it difficult to see the present truth.”

19.  “If then there is no past, present or future what would there be?  Answer:  There would be no form, no energy, no consciousness, nothing to act or to be acted upon, no sadness, no joy, no duality.”

20.  “Use memories of the past very sparingly as you perceive the present and when they are used make sure you only use items that are remembered correctly.”

21.  “We cannot change the literal past, but we can change the effects of the past so a certain negative event in the past is changed so it is no longer negative to us.”

22.  “We can obtain a glimpse at the destiny of mankind by examining [the] lower [macrocosmic] soul and projecting what humans will do on a higher turn of the spiral.”

23.  “A person has to reach a degree of soul contact before there can be communication between the past and the future. When this happens the Will of God is followed and no change in that Will takes place.”

24.  “Another thing that distorts the vision of the past is emotion.”

25.  “Even if you have a good memory, a very positive or negative feeling associated with a past perception can fog the vision of the present.”

26.  “After all, all we have for happiness and joy is what we are going through in the present. Consequently, the present for us is a big deal and it is not “evil” to make it so. Such is not out of harmony with the oneness of the soul, the intuition or the Purpose of God.”

27.  “When the principles of the future are comprehended, the data from the past will fall in place.”

28.  “In the end, what good is any teaching, doctrine, group or destiny if in the present the general feeling lacks joy, love and spiritual flow?

29.  “I will not reveal my past. If there is some necessity for someone to know it the knowledge can be acquired through the Oneness Principle through the soul, but that would be for your personal benefit and not for any publication.”

30.  “Perception does not create the future. Decision does.”

31.  “You cannot change the past or the future. Instead of changing the past and future what you do is create them.”

32.  “When the present becomes the past no relativity can change the past, only our perceptions of the past can change.”

33.  “If all creation were the result of simple multiplication of Original Cause then a high degree of predictability of even small details would be possible. But because Original Cause is duplicated and endowed with intelligence and free will, the future is not set in many of its details.”

34.  “The creation of what is true is relative but, when that creation becomes either present or past tense, then that which IS becomes absolute.”

35.  “Two hundred years from now you would think that the big story in history would be the second coming of Christ. The event will be registered by them, but this person will not be called Jesus and future historians will write about him from a similar perspective as current historians write about Abraham Lincoln. This entity will, however, eventually be recognized as one who is greater than Lincoln, but not until the passage of some time.”

36.  “The possibilities of mankind will be revealed in outer form through technology as a forerunner to the full revelation of the inner powers.”

37.  “Calling forth your future self does not change the past because your calling him forth is a part of his history, as well as anything he tells you.”

38.  “We can see hints of our destiny by looking at the purpose of soul in the present time and projecting this purpose on mankind in its future relationship to forms and the universe itself.”

39.  “The Masters gave out too much too fast during Atlantis and the result was disaster.”

40.  “Present time is no more a true reality than is past time or future time.”

41.  “There comes a cycle of opportunity when the disciple must balance the past, present and future in his consciousness so the Eternal Now can be seen.”

42.  “The past is never lost and is always available for retrieval and enrichment of the present.”

43.  “When the people can no longer hold to the deceptive illusion of the past they are forced to see the truth demonstrated before their eyes that will plant in them the seeds of the Christ consciousness which will eventually grow to maturity.”

44.  “All new creation is built upon the foundation of all creation from the past. This principle not only applies to our physical self, but to our personality self and spiritual self.”

45.  “All is not happening at once. The future is only a projection, missing many details.”

46.  “The way you now think, feel and believe will not exist in the far future, but that which causes them will.”

Power

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual and Metaphysical Quotes

From The Writings Of JJ Dewey

1  We must perceive where and how power can be used before power can be desired or sought.

2  The power of true discernment proceeds the power of union.

3  The true power of the female is a magnetic force that can almost magically draw to itself the things of the spirit or material goods.

4  Seek higher knowledge and sensitivity so you can have greater power to assist others upon the path. Share that which you do receive.

5  When the creator pays attention to his creation an invisible magnetic power is generated that pulls together the elements necessary for success that goes beyond the power of individual action.

6  The present is where the point of power lies.

7  There will be many times that the working disciple will have to use the power of detachment. He must realize that he is not his body, not his feelings and not even his mind and stand back and watch these feelings and thoughts brood and move, yet make his decisions in the light of the soul without attachments to thoughts and feelings of his lower bodies.

8  Until you reach the point of liberation, however, you will not have the power to recreate your old bodies at will.

9  If you think you have no delusions then you should also have power over death for such a feat is accomplished by the overcoming of some of the final delusions.

10  If God, or the power of God, is seen as existing in some man or influence from without then this entity has power to control you through guilt and thus control you through fear and depression.

11  You cannot give up your power of independent thought to any book or Master.

12  One must always think things through himself to discern the good from the evil for in this lies the power to manifest the true reflection of God that lies within you.

13  Any person can make any claim, but only a few can teach the words of light and demonstrate the power of God to the people.

14  I have not hunted for over 35 years, but used to hunt regularly and power had nothing to do with it. I hunted for food and sport. I viewed it as a sport like I did a ball game. I have since changed my views, but still allow all who wish to hunt the freedom to do so and make no attempt at judging their motives.

15  If you focus on light and truth and ignore the pull of the negative, then the power of the negative will evaporate.

16  He who can truly understand Purpose will have “all power in heaven and earth” as Jesus said was given to Him.

17  The true power over polarities comes not from the elimination of negative or positive words, which is impossible, but in the directing of thought and feeling to a constructive end through the power of ATTENTION.

18  I cannot repeat too often that we as individuals in the lower personality will never be Mighty and Strong seen through the eyes of reality. If we are not connected to the vine of the Spirit then we have no life in us and thus no power of consequence.

19  Each step and increase in power to serve is a gift from God, but to receive the gift one has to develop a capacity to retain the gift. If one does not have the capacity to retain the gift the gift is held in reserve until the power to correctly use it is retained.

20  As you put your attention on the inner voice, your power to register will increase and eventually you will become aware of when someone close to you is in distress.

21  The fact that new truths are periodically recognized creates the power of the dominating good that is spoken of in the ancient wisdom.

22  Knowledge is power; all truth uncovered gives us greater power to bring about the dominating good. Conversely, all truth ignored, denied, or covered up allows that which is not good to continue for a while longer.

23  While we cannot do much about who is appointed to the [United States] Supreme Court, and their effect on us, we do have full power as to who we pick to give our power and allegiance.

24  One person can create division and in division the power of the soul is diminished to the group as a whole (though not to individuals).

25  No one person, group or teaching will reach all of humanity, but the Spirit of God working through all those focused in the light do have this power.

26  The power of love is revealed as the many come into the One.

27  No one person, group or teaching will reach all of humanity, but the Spirit of God working through all those focused in the light do have this power.

28  If you want to know if a person is using money wisely, you must look at the end result and the same is true for one who has power to direct deva and elemental lives.

29  When the time comes in the far future that the universe will be created on a basis of twelve, then a point of perfect balance will be reached; thus the great symbology and power of twelve as a spiritual number that penetrates the soul into the unseen.

30  When someone speaks through the soul, the common person is usually touched by an inner stirring even though he has not yet evolved to wield the power himself.

31  It is time for the Lights to understand the mystery of Babylon the great, which soon will fall! Babylon is that power, glamour, or thoughtform which holds the attention of the minds of men focused on false gods and images of gods.

32  In our day wealth and its power has a greater hold over the minds of the people than ever before, not only in the democratic but also the totalitarian countries. A great deal of political, religious, and educational thought, as well as public opinion, is influenced adversely through wealth.

33  All of us have within ourselves the capacity to recognize at least seven aspects of the Will of God and if we follow all of the Will of God that we understand then we will have the power to recognize teachers who are in harmony with that Will.

34  To bring down the powers of Godliness into the physical realm is an act that can only be accomplished through the Spirit of God.

35  It’s not like an individual or group can just get together and demand that the powers of Godliness become manifest. Divine power only becomes manifest when the individual or group puts themselves in alignment with the voice of the Spirit and the Purpose of God.

36  Authoritarian power is always meted out with imperfection.

37  We have power to choose peace or disturbance. Why not choose peace?

38  Power is the end result of all desire.

39  The power of God in man always draws what it looks toward with massed intent.

40  We always have the power to decide to take any path we want.

41  The true path to power is to tune into the Power of Purpose the One Great Life has in store for this planet and then become an agent of His Power.

Predictions, Prognostications and Prophecy

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual and Metaphysical Quotes

From The Writings Of JJ Dewey

1  This world as we understand it is not coming to an end, but many ways of thinking are.

2  We are now living in the time that all prophets and holy men had visions and dreams of, but were not able to taste for themselves.

3  Now it is true that anything is possible, but there are always conditions that have to be met before the unmanifest becomes manifest.

4  Any mortal man or woman claiming to be Mighty and Strong is really “nothing” from a higher point of view for only the one true Spirit of God manifesting in us is Mighty and Strong.

5  There are certain great events which are predetermined and which will take place despite the decisions of mankind, but there are other events which are predicated on the cooperation and decision of the workers of light.

6  Prophesies can be fulfilled either physically or on a higher level. The course is determined by those who have stewardship over the captive students and political realms of the earth. The events to come are more related to the natural law of cause and effect than it is the decision of an angry God.

7  It is interesting to note that there are probably over a hundred people of Mormon belief who have proclaimed themselves to be this one Mighty and Strong and hundreds more of other faiths who make similar claims to be a mighty prophet or messiah, or even God himself. It is also interesting to note that none of them are mighty and none of them have more than normal strength.

8  Prophesy does not have to end with calamity on the physical plane. The judgment of God could be a correction from God as the voice of the Spirit is allowed into the heart to speak to the souls of men and change them so the consumption will be a consumption of old outworn teachings and not a consumption of physical calamity.

9  People on one hand expect great destruction or expect to be swooped up into heaven to be saved, or they expect life to be preserved as it is with no effort on their part. Both views are reckless.

10  Ancient prophets always spoke with dual meaning. On one hand, their prophecies applied to the people in the day they were living, and on the other it applied to a future corresponding generation.

11  If a future holocaust is prevented it will not void the scriptures as everyone thinks, for a correspondence to most of the prophecies of doom have occurred several times.

12  One thing to look for in fulfillment of prophecy is the principle behind the prediction.

13  Mental and astral correspondences always precede the physical, and the physical correspondence to an inspired prophecy does not always materialize.

14  Let us work toward the fulfillment of prophesies on the mental and astral levels and not the physical, for physical externalization does not have to occur in this cycle if those with vision do their part.

15  No prophet in history has ever made clearly understandable predictions of the future that came one hundred percent literally true. Not even Jesus.

16  The greatest prophecy in the scriptures concerning the kingdom of God was given by the ancient prophet Daniel. Unfortunately, this is one of the most widely used but least understood scriptures on the planet.

17  The old orders of controlling the souls of mankind through glamour, illusion and force will be destroyed as Daniel predicted, and will be replaced by higher orders that link heaven and earth bringing greater freedom to the children of men.

18  I have found that every single prediction that the “conspiracy under every rock” person has had has been wrong.

19  The truth is that there are circles of conspiracy, but no one I have seen has put their finger on how it works or what the plan really is. If anti-conspirators had the truth then they should be able to predict with some degree of accuracy.

20  I personally have found great value in contemplating the predictions in the Revelation of John and find the accuracy of his words amazing. It is truly helpful to understand the meaning of the beast and its unjust authority which has an effect on every man woman and child on the planet.

21  A Master can make some amazing predictions, but still cannot see all things.

22  The prediction [concerning a mortal man or woman] could still be valid if this one whom the Mighty and Strong Spirit of God will work through was born in the days of the seventh President [of The Mormon Church].

23  Not one person [out] of 6 billion has [ever] been able to give a detailed account of even one day in advance, let alone a thousand years. This gives proof with about 99.999 percent surety that the future is not set.

24  To think that all events and decisions in the universe can be predicted when scientists cannot even predict the path of a rat through a maze is an amazing thought.

25  The unpredictability of many future events is not caused by randomness, but it’s opposite. It is caused by intelligent intervention to create that which is not random.

26  Intelligence, free will and purpose are not predictable in detail because they exist outside the illusion of time and space yet create all the causes in time and space.

27  I cannot even predict what I will do in all circumstances in the future let alone what you will do. What data could I possibly put in my computer to know how you would react to a naked saleslady?

28  The principle of cycles is this:  Cycles are repetitions in time. The principle of cycles is what makes prophecy possible.

29  Many things are set and can be predicted, but not all.

30  Exactly how close the [a] prophecy comes to a literal fulfillment depends on the freewill of men and circumstances that freewill will bring about.

31  I know the time is close for Excalibur to be released from the stone once again, but I will not predict the exact date.

32  The biggest surprises over the next two hundred years are not predicted by anyone with any degree of accuracy in the present.

33  The prophecy of Jonah was meant to teach that freewill can always control events.

34  One or two mild predictions that are wrong does not necessarily mean that the teacher has no light to offer, but a number of outlandish predictions that are far removed from reality is a sure sign that you should take your losses and run.

35  It is interesting that all have heard of the great last battle at Armageddon. Therefore it is of interest to note that the scripture just ends here. No battle is described. What then really happens at Armageddon?

36  History proves that a prophecy based on common sense is usually the most accurate.

37  The reason so many predictions, even from a spiritual source, do not materialize, is that the divine purpose is fulfilled on higher levels and a physical materialization becomes unnecessary.

38  It’s obvious that anyone who is stockpiling weapons, for instance, preparing for doomsday and the final battle of Armageddon is going to make a lot of authorities nervous – no matter what their message is. If a person or group looks like a loose cannon, they will indeed be watched very closely.

37  The world is no more wicked than it has ever been before.

38  The astounding prophecies of doom and a great Antichrist is just a smokescreen used by the Dark Brotherhood to cast an illusion over the real beast, antichrist and meaning of 666 so the masses will continue to bear the mark.

39  A prophecy can be made to be fulfilled. If it was not uttered in the first place, a corresponding event would not have been produced.

40  If we are successful in establishing a democracy in Iraq and other Moslem nations follow its example then the conspiracy will move on. If democracy fails then the conspiracy will stay there for some time and attempt to destroy the free world.

41  The scripture says what the scripture says and may or may not have reference to things we will be involved in.

42  The chances are now that another Antichrist after the manner of Hitler will not gain power and that the prophecies concerning him will not be literally fulfilled, just as the prophecy of Jonah was not fulfilled. It all depends on the amount of light and love generated by the people.

43  The fulfillment of an inspired prophesy should correspond to all parts of that prophesy.

44  Believe me, no one who read anything about conspiracy theory in the sixties and seventies expected us to move into a new century without a major depression.

45  I know the economy is fragile and we always have a danger facing us in it, but the problem is that there is little that we as individuals can do about it except in preparing the best we can for emergencies. Let us hope things hold together until the time of the gathering.

46  Religion several hundred years from now will be much different than it is today.

47  Diverse groups will demonstrate that there are many ways to worship God which bring similar results, and they will gain an appreciation of each others ceremonies and beneficial teachings.

48  There will be many people making a break from their mother religion in ideology while still remaining membership in name.

49  Churches are now approaching a point of tension where there will shortly be a revolutionary war of rebellion within the world of religion. This war will be fought on both the emotional and mental planes.

50  Eventually, the invisible God will be seen as the head of all spiritual movements and the various groups of seekers will be diverse as were the original thirteen states, yet united in purpose. These break offs will be seen in all religions including the non Christian.

51  Even though future cities and communities of Light may not follow an exact pyramid formation many correspondences of the pyramid will be seen. Eventually there will even be a cities in outerspace symbolizing the top of the pyramid.

52  The heavens and the earth will come together and eventually produce the Great Transfiguration of the Earth, but the total event will occur over a long period of time. It will begin with a periodic and occasional transfiguration of individuals, then small groups of individuals, then larger groups, and later entire cities of Zion. Finally the transfiguration will spread over the entire earth and the “whole earth will be filled with the glory of God”.

53  If the world does not prepare the hearts to accept the coming of the entity who is Christ and learn to live in peace with one another, then all we will receive is the physical externalization of the Sign of the Son of Man. As we all know, a full scale nuclear war could bring the “utter destruction” that was prophesied.

54  The holocaust under Hitler was for this cycle, and we do not need another one, but if it comes it will be the grand daddy of them all.

55  Seeking to change the hearts of man is fine, but if that is all we do then the doomsayers wishes will come true, and the world as we know it will be erased through weapons of mass destruction.

56  The only wild card in the immediate future is not natural destruction, but weapons of mass destruction that can be set off by the free will of humanity.

57  Remember to always look for at least two interpretations to every prophecy of destruction and let your mind contemplate the spiritual side, for there is a great thoughtform of doom hovering over mankind composed of strong emotional energy and this in itself is the strongest threat to world peace. One must be careful not to add to this energy, but to work toward the shifting of the attention of mankind to spiritual deliverance so the thoughtform of destruction will die from lack of attention.

58  Any honest observer will admit that mankind is making progress toward the injunction of Jesus to “do unto others as you would have others do unto you,” but have we done enough? Do we still need seriously consider the prophecies of destruction? Perhaps.

59  Using logic and principles one can predict possibilities, but in the demonstration of an idea you have free will and unforeseen circumstances entering in making it impossible to predict all the details.

Problems and Solutions

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual & Metaphysical Quotes

From The Discourses Of JJ Dewey

1  If we can’t come up with good solutions to everyday problems, maybe this is an indication we don’t have all the answers to the higher stuff either.

2  To have control over our lives we must realize our limits and arrange our circumstances so they are not crossed.

3  Each person I meet can only understand a portion of my problems because only a portion of his problems are similar to mine.

4  Mankind itself must deal with its own problems and if they are not solved natural consequences must follow.

5  Eliminate those things that are definitely not true and contemplate on that which remains.

6  The problem is complex. The solution is simple, but the implementation of the solution is complex.

7  It is appropriate to restrain someone from disrupting the freedom and peace of others.

8  Force can be justified to restrain a person from harming himself who is in such an emotional state that he is not aware of the results of his action. In this case it would be right to physically restrain a person from suicide.

9  The most correct direction to solving problems involves seeing through the eyes of the soul, thinking on our feet, and making wise judgments and decisions.

10  The important thing to understand as we seek to apply the principle of the pendulum to solve world and personal problems is that it is never a simple black and white extreme.

11  The problem most of us have in not using common sense to unlock the door of the soul is that we do not apply it to all areas of our lives.

12  Each of us has all the problems we can handle and if we just concentrate on solving our own complexities, we will not care so much about what the Master faces. That is His problem and He is the one to deal with it.

13  The problem is that when there is a crime related to guns that it is widely publicized in the media, yet many other problems that are worse – such as physician related deaths get little or no attention. This gives the impression that problems related to guns are much greater than other areas.

14  Creating the seed technology and putting it into general application are two different things and the latter is by far the most difficult.

15  To resolve any argument one has to first discover the core difference and deal with it.

16  A true paradox has no solution except to reveal that the statement itself is based on illusion.

17  When we examine common problems that occur in a marriage relationship, we can always discover a lack of communication.

18  Finances is probably the greatest problem the spiritual workers of the world have today. Jesus said that man cannot serve both God and mammon, yet we must serve mammon in this age to some degree just to survive.

19  The problem is that the conspiracy people have always looked for the problem where it is not rather than where it is.

20  Many deny their fears and illusions as they seek to progress toward the good. This indeed does create many problems, but it is the denial and suppression that is the problem – not any attention one has toward the good.

21  No matter how dumb the statement I never call the person stupid, dumb, ignorant, boring etc.. Neither do I call any person a derogatory name or use a swear word directed at them. Instead, what I do is to isolate the statement or philosophy that may show some ignorance and comment and elaborate on that.

22  Forced change can produce quick results, but always carries a backlash and the people eventually backtrack and work on finding the correct path.

23  Those caught in the loop of denial and suppression are usually sincere people who are deceived into thinking that not facing friction and life’s problems head on is for the best at the moment. This lessens the soul energy, but the person usually turns around after enough pain is caused by this error.

24  All of us have made mistakes but the final solution to guilt is to realize that they are just that – mistakes and then move on with life.

25  Very few goals that improve our situation in life are actually reached. One of the main reasons for this is that they have not been clearly defined and reduced to the written word.

26  It’s not the pleasure that gives us the problem, but the attachment to it.

27  Dealing with depression which is either self-caused or sent from the Dark Brothers is a real item for the worker in the light to deal with. If the depression is not because of an attack and yet the person is fairly evolved, the cause is usually a resistance of some kind. What kind of resistance? A resistance to the impressions sent from the soul or a resistance to hearing the words of the soul itself.

28  The first step in setting a goal is to realize the difference between a wish and a goal. Perhaps the main thing to realize is that a wish takes no effort, but a goal may take substantial effort.

29  To solve the problem of duality we must first discern the two opposing sides in all things, whether it be male/female, good/evil, positive/negative, spiritual/material or conservative/liberal.

30  If we force ourselves into new and different experiences and learn new things, then we achieve a new outlook, and the thing that we found depressing will often die a blissful death through attrition.

31  The beginner cannot appreciate the vision, the thoughts, the goals, and the problems of a disciple or Master until he either advances a great deal in his evolution, or joins in with the whole through the Oneness Principle.

32  The important point to absorb is to do what we can and accept whatever follows with self acceptance.

33  One of the problems with teaching the ancient wisdom to a varied audience is that there will only be a few who can relate or understand concepts like the Spiritual Triad, formless worlds, spiritual will versus regular will and so on.

34  I have no problem with someone disagreeing, but it does really help me to answer them if they are clear on exactly what the disagreement is.

35  We begin to win at the game of life when our ATTENTION is focused in one direction rather than scattered.

36  One of the problems that western seekers have is that they think the eastern ways must be the best for all in seeking the higher contact, not realizing that there is an advantage to using a more active approach for the western mind. I have personally gotten some of my highest knowledge, while meditating in the midst of work, communicating and noise.

37  If you feel you need an extra jolt of spiritual energy and only have a short time to contemplate say this to yourself:   “Let the Angel of the Presence be in my presence so I feel the Spirit of God is the only Presence.”

36  Those who do not know peace will fight against those who do know peace. Those who know not peace must be introduced to peace.

37  Mere positive thinking will not create any immediate solution any more than a person stepping into the ring with Mike Tyson can make Mike turn into a cream puff by sending him good vibes. When in the ring with an opponent even the man of peace must fight with all means necessary or suffer defeat by default.

38  If there is not a first aggression there will not be a second.

39  If one finds himself supporting Israel just because she is Israel one is merely repeating the greatest most repeated mental and emotional blunder in history.

40  Those who are polarized in the emotions see solutions that feel right as being right. Those polarized in the mind see solutions that make sense as being right, even if they may not feel right.

Relative Perfection

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual & Metaphysical Quotes

From The Writings Of JJ Dewey

1  To have perfection you have to have a judge of what perfection is.

2  True perfection consists in having the ability to complete a task successfully.

3  If God is ever to create a perfect circle then He would have to have the exact number for pi, for without it a perfect circle is impossible; making the perfection of God impossible.

4  Female energies build forms and male energies destroy forms for in the reaching of the perfection of any decision one must both build and destroy.

5  A reason that people accept Jesus as God is because they see him as being perfect. Actually, there are more scriptures that talk about the perfection of the saints than that of Jesus.

6  That which is above is in the process of evolution and will, at the end of its evolution, be more complex and majestic than that which is below; but that which is below is near the end of its evolution, and has reached relative perfection.

7  Eventually our laws will reach relative perfection where little or no change will be necessary.

8  The only path to relative perfection is to have corrective measure built in the system so correction can be applied as light is revealed.

9  Orthodox Christians say that Jesus was perfect because he obeyed all the laws but the Bible says “The law made NOTHING perfect.”

10  All living things are perfect as the Father is perfect if they follow the harmony of nature.

11  Once relative perfection is reached in the world of form the intelligence behind its creation recognizes it and begins to duplicate this perfection.

12  An injunction to be flawless as is the One God who holds the universe together, and created all the millions of galaxies is like telling a worm to be like a man.

13  It is indeed disturbing for many to contemplate that even heaven or the higher worlds may not be a perfect place.

14  The tiny subatomic lives (which have united as one) which are responsible for the interplay between spirit and matter within us have reached relative perfection, and humankind in relation to the universe is just getting started.

15  We want to make the leap to perfection in one step because the picture painted by some inspired book looks so beautiful and true we cannot bear to live with our imperfect selves another instant.

16  The tiny lives that exist within our bodies that have perfected themselves in their sphere, seek to shift their time awareness and consciousness to harmonize with our own, to them a human is the universal God.

17  In the molecular level relationship has reached relative perfection, whereas the progression of humanity toward their relative perfection in relationship is at fifty percent or less.

18  The Masters use the term “relative perfection” because any concept of perfection is relative to the fulfillment of some objective.

19  The Soul which is above is humanity living on millions of planets throughout the universe. The largest difference between higher soul (humanity) and lower soul (the interplay within us) is that humanity is only at the beginning of its mission in relation to the universe whereas the microcosmic soul has reached relative perfection.

20  The Christ through Jesus perfectly (relative perfection) manifested both love and wisdom as well as anchoring the will of God on the earth in a way that had not been done before.

21  The word equivalent to the modern word perfect is AKRIBELA and if you check your Bible Concordance you will not find this word ever used in connection with God or Jesus.

22  What perfection is, is different for each person. To the Jews who crucified Jesus, He was one of the most imperfect beings who ever lived. To the born again Christian, He is completely flawless.

23  Ultimate Perfection is an illusion and actually undesirable. If we were to live in a state where there could not exist a goal to progress even higher then there would be no joy in living.

24  We have the concept of perfection and imperfection in the world of form, but in the formless world of origination this concept is meaningless. Perfection has meaning when form is in the process of creation or has materialized.

25  A life whether it be an atom, a worm, a man or a planetary Spirit evolves to relative perfection within its sphere. When this relative perfection is reached its progression on an individual basis comes to an end, but it uses molecular principles (see The Molecular Relationship) to enter a path of higher evolution.

26  Becoming, or evolving toward ultimate perfection within the various spheres, is the destiny of all the sons and daughters of mankind.

27  It is only after many attempts at trial and error, and then learning from mistakes, that relative perfection is finally obtained.

28  We presently have a system of numbers and math that allows us to assign an exact figure (say one foot) to a distance that no one has been able to measure as existing in the real world.

29  The word perfection only applies to form; talking about perfection when there is no form is meaningless from our point of view.

30  With relative perfection one can reach a state where the entity has a skill down pat so he becomes a reliable performer or he has achieved a particular goal to his satisfaction, but soon he finds another skill to master and another goal to achieve.

31  The reason absolute perfection is an illusion is because to believe in such a thing one must negate the eternal principle of correction. Because correction is always taking place absolute perfection cannot be.

32  If everything were perfect we wouldn’t be here to begin with and there would be no illusion, which is imperfect.

33  What is the perfect diamond, the perfect look, the perfect color, the perfect flower? What is perfect is what we define as perfect, or cannot be improved upon, and each person has a different idea of what that is.

34  God cannot create a perfect world for you and me because we define and see perfection differently. A perfect world to one may be hell to another.

35  When you look in the eyes of another and see only perfection what do you see? You see the face of Christ and this opens the door of the soul.

36  Perfection is a journey rather than a final adjustment.

31.  “How many of us have met seekers who are so caught up in their ‘vision’ or ‘dream’ that they cannot even consider that there may be a greater path of service available than the one they are on?”

32.  “There is no higher act than being anointed to deliver or taking the one seeking help and pulling him up to where you are. This represents the pure love of Christ and is love manifest.”

33.  “Of course, doing the work is what trips up the many with egos to prove. Instead of them doing the work, many want to be called and exalted, but have others do the work, recognize their greatness and serve their own little needs.”

34.  “Good and loving people should be the ones most determined to stay and assist in the triumph of the dominating good.”

35.  “To get in the top ten per cent where you share in the use of ninety percent of the world’s purpose energy, all you have to do is set conscious intelligent goals and then reach them. To get in the top one per cent you must set and attain conscious intelligent goals that go beyond self-interest and help many people.”

37.  “Even helping one person makes it all worthwhile.”

39.  “Wisdom is a wonderful thing and so is knowledge but both of them would aimlessly drift along without the third aspect of understanding. Understanding gives eyes to knowledge and wisdom so the seeker is able to give completion to his service.”

40.  “As each of us fulfills the mission of Christ in us we reach out to our brothers and sisters upon the path and assist them in their journey to the presence of God. Each of us takes one more step toward completion as we effectively serve the wholeness of the creation of God by assisting the part, even if it is only one individual soul who is walking in darkness yet seeking light.”

41.  “Many preach of peace and goodwill, but who is doing anything about it? Project Peace and Goodwill is a method of putting words into action. There are many others ways to those who are willing.”

42.  “It is unfortunate in life that it is more dangerous to help others than to do nothing.”

Shedding Additional Light

Book Of Quotes

Inspirational, Spiritual and Metaphysical Quotes

From The Writings Of JJ Dewey

1  The first principle of purpose is as deep as the human mind can contemplate and the more we meditate on it the more light will be shed.

2  “Repent” is translated from the Greek word METANOEO which literally means “to exercise the mind to think differently, or to comprehend differently”.

3  We must accept responsibility for our own actions, and not wait for God to save us or to set things right, but to get off our butt and put some action behind our words and correct the mess the world is in.

4  Tagging any teaching with a name makes it neither true nor false.

5  There are times that a starving person needs the fish for immediate relief and has no time to learn to catch anything. Sometimes you have to feed him until he has strength – then you can teach him to fish.

6  We may not have all the light and all understanding, but each of us will always have some light on the truth.

7  If we examine the history of the race, we will see that the ones who have truly proved themselves a benefit to humanity made no big announcement as a great one, and they usually had a very good rapport with common men and women.

8  When the word “repent” is used in this day and age one pictures in mind the image of either a bearded fanatic or a zealous born again Christian fundamentalist. Actually, these are some of those in the greatest need for repentance.

9  The baptism of children is not mentioned in the scriptures. Because they have no guilt baptism performed on them is useless. John and Peter commanded people to “repent” and be baptized. Since a child cannot repent, baptism of them is a mockery before God and man.

10  A human with their [chakra or energy] centers opened will sometimes have such a strong aura that they will glow and have a visible radiance, like the Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration.

11  Each of us is a light to the world in some way and as a light to the world we must see ourselves in the symbol of a candle. Where we lack light we share in the light received by another and we are then filled with light. Consider the image of one candle lighting another candle. Unlike sharing as is done in the world there is no loss in the sharing of light. When one candle lights another and the flame is full, both shine with the same brightness. All the light of the first is given to the second and none is lost, neither diminished. One candle can light two, two can light four, four, eight and so on until after a few generations millions of candles can be lit by the one and none suffer any loss through the sharing, but the light of the whole is increased many fold.

12  Teachings of light will not change all instantly.

13  So my friends, what good is it if we have light but keep it under a bushel? The bushel is composed of fear, inertia, ego, lack of confidence and dependence on unjust authority. Let us remove the covering of the light and keep this a land of the ever present sun, in season and out of season.

14  I do not know of any major religion that is becoming more conservative. In fact, religion is experiencing somewhat of a revival because of various liberal experiments in independent churches to bring back the flock.

15  I think all charities and give-away programs should work around the following principle which has been reduced to a well worn cliche.  “Give a man a fish and you have fed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime.”

16  The infinite does not exist. It is only a theoretical point that you go toward.

17  True perception in relation to law or principles is the correct realization of how the law or principle works itself out.

18  Falsehood is a distortion of an experience or an existence to make that which did not happen or exist appear to have happened.

19  It is true that a falsehood is false, but that does not make that which is false, true. It is true that 1+1 does not equal three, but that does not make it equal three. 1+1=3 is never true for anyone. 1+1=3 is not even true in your dreams.

20  There is really no such thing as up or down — such concepts are only relative to location.

21  No change which fulfills the purpose of God will hurt the world at large and the people as a whole will always benefit.

22  Even one who has achieved soul contact can fall away from it so the use of common sense is a factor that guides us toward the truth and keeps all of us in alignment.

23  Correct use of the light of knowledge is called “righteousness” in the scriptures and correct sharing is called “love.”

24  In certain dark ages there could be no progression without blazing forward, but today humanity is mature enough to gradually accept greater fire without greeting it with persecution. Those having the flame must proceed gradually and with great wisdom.

25  The devas are not monads, but also grew from a seed or monad.

26  When soul contact is reached the mind becomes a reflector of the soul and the contrast between the higher light of soul and the lower light of mind creates enlightenment and understanding on the physical plane.

27  Keep asking and then paying attention to impressions coming within throughout the day. In a quiet moment when you are not expecting anything the answer may come.

28  To one who has their attention centered on physical light the light of the soul is as night and does not reveal. But later the soul reveals its great light as the downward focused eyes are lifted. Then later as the greater light is seen the soul has a second dark night, but this time the dark is a contrast that reveals joy.

29  If we want more light we must stand in the light which is seen.

30  When an additional glimmer of light is seen, we must hold our focus on it until the flame grows bright enough that we are assured, the revelation will never be lost.

31  Right use of light is extremely important for without it the light grows dim and the vision seen is forgotten. The only way to keep it is to follow certain steps.

32  Alice A. Bailey was indeed a scribe for most of her writings. She received them from Djwahl Khul, a Tibetan Master who was one of the Three Wise Men from the East in a previous incarnation. He is around 300 years old and is sometimes called the “messenger boy for the Gods” because he is fairly young as far as the age of Masters go.

33  Contemplate the impressions that come to you during the day because of the increase of Light and Love and Power.

34  The enemies of light and love will continue to create problems from time to time, but if we do our part in standing in harmlessness while seeking to serve in the light, with light and love and power manifesting for the whole, the triumph in the end will be sure.

35  Light and Love is eternally present, but we individually and collectively create veils that cause the illusion of separation. These veils can be penetrated by directed thought on an individual and collective basis.

36  What I write can be realized to be true because it can be proven by experience and that which we prove through experience is to be trusted until a higher experience gives additional light.

37  As reflections of God, we must also find and bring light to our blind spots. This is often hard on the old ego, and there is a natural resistance for many to even acknowledge that a specific blind spot exists.

38  There is corruption in Masonry, but there is also a lot of truth there and it will be reformed to represent the side of light in totality in the coming age.

39  If you are saying the Song with pure intent and tuning into the Oneness Principle additional light will just come to you from time to time and it is important that you contemplate or think long and hard about what you receive so you can have power to retain it.

40  Wherever we live we must always work to improve our country and communities.

41  The teachings here are not a repeat or rehash of teachings given elsewhere. When other useful teachings are found we will reference them, but attempt not to present them as if they are new or unique.

42  Contemplation is a positive aspect of meditation and is more active and takes a person in the direction of the soul if attention is used and the heart is pure.

43  True peace comes from the Spirit of God, which is the Spirit of freedom or the soul.

44  Let us all add our light and love to dispel the fear and darkness that envelops so many, that the day may come that light is so universal that a dark corner cannot be found and that love will create such a fire that none can resist being consumed.
