Answers on Christ, Sources and More

Question: “When we say “Our Father, who art in heaven…”, are we referring to the Christ of this planet, or the Ancient of Days, or to the one originating life?”

JJ: All lives that are a higher octave in evolution than yourself are one with God in their consciousness and thus your prayer to the Father will be picked up by the entity most suitable to answer it. Most often it is your Higher Self, sometimes it will be a person from the Spirit World, once in a while it will be a Master. If your prayer does not ascend to a higher octave it may be processed by your higher mind and its assistance can be given. The Ancient of Days shares awareness of all lives on the planet, but does not respond to them individually. He touches all lives through a hierarchical or Molecular Relationship. Many helpers has He.

Question: “What is the difference in purpose/role between the Christ and the Ancient of Days for this planet?”

The Christ is the title held by the Spirit that was in Jesus as we taught earlier.

Just as the human body has seven centers so does the planet Earth. The Brotherhood of Light, often called the Masters of the Hierarchy, is the heart center and as an expression of love/wisdom energy is presided over by the Christ.

Shamballa corresponds to the Head Center and is an expression of Will-Power-Purpose and is presided over by The Ancient of Days who is called by many names, most commonly Sanat Kumara. He is the Father in relationship to Christ as well as the whole planet.

Moses spoke with his Higher Self who was linked with the Masters. The Ten Commandments were written by the hand of Moses while in the translated state. This was why his face shined like the sun when he came down from the mountain. It was said that the writing was done by the finger of God because Moses was in the Godlike state and one with God while he wrote the law. He lived in this state for 40 days without food or water.

Question: “What happens to the spirit of Christ after it serves its mission for 1000 years.”

Christ will go to the great solar system of Sirius where an advanced lodge of the Brotherhood resides. There he will complete his 8th and 9th initiations. He will leave here the first to achieve what he did and the greatest of the human family and will enter schooling there as a neophyte. Thus the eternal principle, the first shall be last and the last first, works itself out.

When he leaves he will be replaced by the Master KH who will assume the position of the Christ for the planet.

DK tells us that when our current Christ completes his initiations on Sirius he will return to our planet in the far future and assist us once again.

The entity who was Melchizedek entered into the body of Jesus at his baptism. This is the one who still holds the office of the Christ and is the same who must make His presence known to fulfill the prophecies of the second coming. He will “reign a thousand years” and then move on to higher learning.

The other entity who was Joshua, from the time of Moses, was born as Jesus will not be the one who is the second coming. The plan is for him to become the Messiah that the Jews are still waiting for. Thus we will have Jesus and the Christ working on the earth this time as two separate entities, one as messiah to the Jews and the other as a world teacher. It is not clearly revealed as to whether this will be a direct incarnation or working as an overshadowing. The hope is for Jesus to prepare the Jewish people to accept the higher teachings of the Christ.

When they are doing their work they will be known by different names than Jesus and Christ. A lot of the spiritual work will be done before the world at large realizes that anything unusual is happening.

One more note on Moses. He worked with a triangle of energy through his Higher Self, the Masters (which at the time most did not originate from earth) and the Ancient of Days at Shamballa. Most of the work was done through a direct connection with his higher self, but he did make contact with The Ancient of Days. Because of this great triangle of energy he was able to perform some of the greatest miracles in history.

There will be a higher correspondence to the time of Moses when the Molecules are created. There will again be a triangle formed between the Spiritual life behind the Molecule, the Brotherhood of Light and the Ancient of Days. When the energies of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost become one upon the earth all things become possible.

I was asked to elaborate on what happened after the crucifixion.

The Christ left the disciple Jesus alone on the cross to complete his initiation. Actually He was not completely alone as there was still a connecting thread between the two, but so much of the consciousness of the higher entity departed that Jesus seemed to be alone. Then when he said “Father, receive my Spirit He realized that the connecting link yet remained and he decided to join the Christ outside of the body. Yet even as the two entities were outside the body there was yet a connection to the body through the magnetic silver cord as I mentioned earlier. Thus the body of Jesus was never completely dead.

Death was not overcome by either of these entities individually, but through the molecular link that linked Jesus to Christ and Christ to the Ancient of Days and so on. The life giving power was sent down the chain and the Christ (male energy) with the assistance of Jesus (female energy) healed the body after three days.

Question: “Was it Jesus (Joshua) who appeared to the disciples in physical form, or was it the Christ (Melchizedek) that appeared in the physical form of Jesus?”

Jesus was the main consciousness in the body at the time of the appearance to the disciples, but there was still an overshadowing by the Christ, but more as a link rather than a divine possession from this point on.

The plan to have Jesus appear as a Messiah to the Jews in our age (which was mentioned by Bailey) was not formulated at that time, but it was known that the Christ would appear in some manner at the beginning of the Aquarian Age. Even though Jesus was the main consciousness in the body they were still one because of the strong link. Jesus was speaking this on behalf of the Christ who was to come again in the far future.

Christmas Message 2017

The Son of Man, who is the Son of God sat in counsel with the Great Ones. One stood and spoke. “This is the time of year they have chosen to remember your birth and some of your message. As before, lower thoughts and feelings pose obstacles to seeing the living Christ in you and themselves. This year anger seems to be the keynote for distraction. Go sample the minds and hearts of the people and let us see their potential.

The Son thus looked upon the world and indeed felt the anger of many which was also accompanied by frustrated desires. He tuned into that anger and one representative soul came to view. The Son penetrated his consciousness and asked, “Why are you so ill at ease, my friend.”

The person thinking he was hearing the voice of God, or perhaps his imagination replied, “I had high hopes for my political dreams but my candidate lost the election. I detest everything about the winner and disagree with everything he has been doing. I am angry at the winner, angry at those who voted for him and angry at those who did not vote.”

The voice replied, “My son, you will never be happy if outward circumstances control your state of mind. When I was on the earth both the political and religious leaders were far from my ideal, but I did not let them disturb my peace. Those with whom you disagree have sincere beliefs as do you. See them as your brothers and love them or your anger will create a hell for you right here on the earth.”

The man considered the way of peace, but did not commit.

Next the Son looked upon the devastation from hurricanes, floods and fire and saw many were angry for the loss of their possessions. He visited the consciousness of one who lost his home to fire. “Peace be unto you,” he said.

“Peace! How can I have peace when I have lost everything,” the man replied.

“But you have not lost everything. You still have all those things that you will take with you when you leave this life. These are the important things. Think upon what they are.”

The man thought about his wife, his children, his friends and the love he had for them. He also thought about the freedom he had to begin a new and make a fresh start. Then the Son spoke again, “Focus on your love of others, for you will take the quality of love and freedom with you, but not your possessions.”

The man shifted his focus from temporary possessions to the permanent and replaced his anger with hope.

Next he looked upon the many females who had been harassed or abused by men. He saw that much suppression from the past had bottled up emotion that was now being released. He tuned in to an angry lady venting herself on social media. “You could have peace instead of this,” he said.

“I do not want peace, but revenge,” was the reply.

“It is good to expose wrongdoing and to stand up for what is right but this can be done without being consumed by anger. Behold the consciousness of a man who abused you.”

In that instant the lady’s mind became one with her abuser and saw everything through his eyes and felt his feelings. He was indeed living a miserable existence. When she returned to herself the voice asked, “What do you feel now?”

“I feel pity for that poor soul.”

“All those who do harm are mislead souls that reap what they have sown. Do not participate in their error; release your anger and live in joy from this moment forward.”

It was difficult but the woman shifted her attention to the way of peace.

The Son returned and reported to the Ancient Ones, “Indeed there is much anger in the world, but it is an anger that has been suppressed and is now being released. The people must learn to release it harmlessly while keeping the spirit of love and peace in their hearts. Come stand with me and let us direct our thoughts to those in need of peace. These are the words that were spoken:

“Oh, ye sons and daughters of God, remember who you are. Let your anger flow back to its source and let love and hope and faith weigh supreme in your hearts. Let goodwill spread from one to another as the flame of passing candles. Let love prevail.”

McCall Gathering, 2007, Part 1

The Transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius.

JJ: Let’s see what I am supposed to talk on today… Boating on the Payette Lake (laughter), it’s an odd subject but you know we can make the best of it.

(Then JJ seems to find a piece of paper with the right subject) Oh, here we go. The Transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. It’s interesting that we have quite a few people who come from fundamentalist religions. Larry and Robin are from fundamentalist Baptist type. And several from the Mormon religion – probably about a third of the group here. Anybody from any other fundamentalist religion here?

Audience: Jewish.

JJ: Jewish, are you Jewish?

Audience: yes.

JJ: Oh I did not know that. Oh well that’s really fundamental (laughter). Okay anybody else?

Audience:  Episcopalian

JJ: Were you ever really into it? Annie what’s your background? You were never that religious were you?

Annie: No.

JJ: You don’t really look that religious.

Annie: I was lucky.

JJ:  What’s your background Dan?

Dan: My grandparents were Methodist…

JJ: You look like back in high school you probably were kind of the wild kid on the block?

Dan:  Not really.

Audience: He’s wild now. (Laughter)

JJ: Oh really, he’s wild now not back then. You really look like a mellow guy you know just overall. How about you Marcy?

Marcy: (Inaudible).

JJ: How about you James?

James: Oh yeah I was raised a Baptist and when I was younger then I was Methodist.

JJ: You were never really into it that much were you? Kind of so so. How about you Susi, about the same or what?

Susi: No I was Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist and now I’m not in any.

JJ: It’s interesting that most people that have been into religion look on astrology as being evil. Anything out of the ordinary, any type of psychism, anything that sounds kind of odd, flying saucers or whatever, the old devil,  he’s just behind it all according to the fundamentalist type religion. But it’s interesting that astrology is mentioned quite a bit in the Bible. As a matter of fact, the word Magi used for the three wise men, means a magician or astrologer according to the original language, and they came from the East. Does anyone know why they were able to recognize the signs and the stars of the Messiah?

Audience: Because of the configuration.

JJ: The configuration. But what’s interesting is they learned it form Daniel the prophet, because when Daniel the prophet was taken captive in the Babylon. He was taken to the East and he was the one who taught the Magi. Because Daniel the prophet taught the Magi all about true astrology it was passed down and that’s why the Wise men in the east were looking for the Messiah. Daniel the prophet had taught them to look for the signs of the coming of the Messiah.

So it’s interesting how everything went full circle. And the only ones we know about that really correctly expected him and correctly anticipated him came from the east. The people that were supposed to recognize him – it just went right over their heads. You think that might happen when he comes the next time? How are they expecting him to come next time?

Audience: (Inaudible)

JJ: As a blaze of glory in the sky. How were they expecting him to come last time?

Audience: As a warrior fighter.

JJ: As a blaze of glory in the sky last time. Same thing. They were expecting him to come as a blaze of glory in the sky and the wicked would melt as stubble. That quote is from the Old Testament, not from the new one and they used it right back in the days of Jesus. And they thought that all the Romans were going to be evaporated just like stubble is like being burnt and then God would come and float down from heaven and establish his kingdom. But instead he fooled them. He was born as a little baby and was totally unexpected. The only ones we know for sure that recognize him were the Magi and then there’s a story of an old woman named Anna that wanted to see the Messiah before she died, so this elderly person was expecting it the way it really happened. There’s this old lady and the three Magi were the only ones we know about that anticipated the coming the way it really happened.

Audience: But what about the community that cared for him and his relatives?

JJ: Well there’s really not much mention of the Christ among the Essene writings. They were expecting more the end of the world. They were like retreating from the normal world. There were kind of like the cults today – they retreat to the mountain top for Jesus to show up, and scoop them to heaven. Well they moved into caves and hid out expecting the end of the world to come.

They had reasonable amount of light on a number of areas, but they were not entirely right either on a lot of stuff, but they did have a lot of teachings and buried them and a lot of them resurfaced which shed some additional light. But it’s not the type of light the Christian world was waiting for. They thought maybe these writings would show more proof of regular Christianity and what they got was what a lot of Christians would call heresy in the Essene writings. They have some good materials in them but a lot of them were expecting the end of the world.

As a matter of fact, almost everybody at that time was expecting the end of the world. Had you read world history very much you’d see that until the past hundred years, the world was a very tough place to live in. Expecting the end of the world was a natural inclination, because it would be really nice to escape the dreary world that they were in up until just recently. A lot of people think we live in the worst situation in world history right now. What do you think about that Larry?

Larry : They’re deceived.

JJ: Yeah they are aren’t they? People need to study history so they get a clear picture. I was just reading about Martin Luther. They roasted alive and tortured many associates of Martin Luther for heresy and this really upset him. Then when Martin Luther got a little power, well he did the same thing to people that disagreed with him. And it was typical. I was reading about one guy they roasted they didn’t like. They roasted him slowly, and then they lifted him up away from the fire so he would heal a little bit so he would not quite die and then they would roast him some more, then lift him up, roast him some more. They did all kinds of stuff like that.

They were very creative about taking the heretics and make them suffer just the maximum amount they could suffer. They believed it was wrong to shed blood. Because you know Jesus taught he who kills with a sword shall be killed with a sword. So they interpreted as “well we should not really shed their blood, but by George we could surely roast those guys!” (Laughter)

And that’s why they burned everybody at the stake. This act didn’t shed blood so they thought that was fine. And they called it auto da fé. That was the Spanish term for it, which meant act of faith. It was an act of faith to be able to take these heretics and torture them until they would admit that they were wrong. They thought they were really pleasing Jesus.

And even some of the great names in history, like Sir Thomas Moore participated. He had a torturing rack in his basement. They would have some guy being tortured in his basement and up above the he would be eating dinner with his family. You can just see him saying, “….kids eat your porridge but don’t worry about that guy growling down in the basement… He’s just got a fire in his belly, and just he’ll confess pretty soon.” Can you imagine that? Having that torturing rack in your basement.

Now some people think Sir Thomas Moore is now a master, but I really had my reservation about that after reading he had a torture chamber in his basement. (Laughter) If he’s a master, he really had to pay off a lot of karma between that period and now. It’s kind of sad really.

But what’s another interesting fact is that people look back a few hundred years and they think: Boy if I lived then I would never have owned slaves, I would never have tortured people. I would just stand for what was right. But they don’t realize how powerful the current thought form is. And we don’t also realize that 200 years from now people will look back at us and they’re going to look at us and say: If I lived back then I would never have been in such ignorance. And maybe we in this room are in such a state of ignorance compared to people 200 years from now, that they’re going to look back at us and say : how come they couldn’t see that? How come they could not see that this was the right thing?

So we look back and we condemn our Founding Fathers for not entirely freeing the slaves. We look back in the days of the Roman Empire where they tortured people and fed people to lions and the whole community came out. The whole town came out and cheered everybody on and thought that was wonderful, great entertainment and hardly anyone that was not getting fed to the lions themselves disagreed with it. They thought that was just great fun to watch. They created this chair and heated it up red hot and put a Christian in it and then forced him to sit in it until he fried to death and stuff like that and the whole audience would just cheer him, thinking that was just great! I mean can you imagine us being back there cheering with them?

Maybe we were. It’s pretty dangerous to look back. Jesus said, judge not lest ye be judged. In other words, when we judge we have to be careful on how we judge, because it can come back to haunt us. So people look back and say “I would never have owned a slave, I am above that”. Well maybe you are now because maybe it’s just the way you are programmed now to think that way. But you were programmed differently then. Can you escape your program? Are you able to lift above what the beast today has programmed you to think?

Christmas Message 2016

Christmas Message

As I contemplate a Christmas message this year my mind reflects upon this tempestuous year and the political fighting that divided families, friends and parties. Oft times it has seemed that Christ is further from the hearts of humanity than ever in my lifetime. Instead of seeing Christ in one another we have been seeing demons of the darkest dye.

Instead of seeing good we have been seeing evil.

Instead of seeking to help we seek to hinder our brothers and sisters and laughing when they fall just because they vote differently than ourselves.

Are we all not children from the same Father-Mother God? Should we therefore seek to love and not hate and to have compassion rather than to despise?

Are we so far away from Christ that He will turn his back in shame and silence?

With hesitation I appeal to His Spirit and listen for His voice. After a silence words come by the voice of the Spirit…

“Never hesitate approaching me my son for I am with you and all who seek me at all times in all places and all situations.

“Yes, it may seem that I am further away from the hearts of men than ever but the truth is that I am always near. It is the individual who distances himself from me, even though I stand at the door. The door is open or shut by you, not I.

“Lift up your heart and rejoice for the time of the harvest draws near. Look upon the light that is burning in your fellow men and women scattered across the globe.”

He placed his hand across my eyes and my sight was greatly magnified. I saw every person on the planet as a light in one glimpse. Some lights were bright and others were dim. Still others had no light but seemed as if they were black holes.

I was immediately reminded of the words of Jesus from the scripture:

“If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Mat 6::22-23

I spoke and said, “I see many wonderful people full of light and love, yet many of them are in terrible situations and hated and despised. I see great lights in all situations and others striving to keep whatever lesser light they have. Then there are those in darkness who hate the light for it disturbs their darkness. I feel great concern for them.”

“Yet do you not see more light than you expected?”

I looked again at the whole of humanity and answered, “Indeed. I am impressed that there is so much light when the planet seems to be so fiercely divided.”

“Look again,” he said, “And see the light as it was 100 years ago.”

I looked and saw that there were not so many people but the percentage of the bright lights was significantly less.

“Look again and see 200 years in the past.”

I looked and again the bright lights were quite a bit fewer.

He spoke again, “And now if I show you the lights of the world 100 years from now what is it you think you will see?”

When be spoke those words I felt a great fire burn within me and could not speak. I felt weak and tears came to my eyes. I did not have to look, for I knew within my spirit what the answer was supposed to be. If we as a human race do not shut the door on the Christ standing at the door of the human heart the light of the world will make a quantum leap forward, more than any time in any century. We could always reject the light, but the fire within me gave me great hope that humanity is headed the right direction thanks to the lights shining upon the darkness with increasing strength.

Finally I gained the presence of mind to speak. “I see that many are discouraged because they do not see correctly, that the light in the world has been steadily progressing all along and this division we now see is merely creating a point of tension which will wind up amplifying the light in the end.”

“You see correctly. Now write the words which will guide others to see the light, to love the light and to direct the light to dispel the darkness. Darkness cannot keep its place with the increasing light to come. When a light is turned on in a dark room the one who has eyes must acknowledge what is actually seen. May you and others turn on the lights so the world can see and be ready to accept me when I come and dwell among you.”

The Presence left, but lingered with me and I felt as if my spirit was fed with heavenly manna that satisfied and gave me strength to continue my journey through life with gladness.

Christmas Message 2015

The Peacemakers

We live in a time of great differences. There have always been differences of belief among families, groups, peoples, and nations, but now it seems that we are approaching some type of crystallization where the differences are more pronounced and enunciated.

Today we see pronounced and emotional political differences as seen few times in history accompanied by sharp religious conflicts between Islam and the other world religions. Fortunately, we are not seeing all out world war, but there are a lot of smoldering disturbed and disgruntled people on the planet ready to take up arms. This causes all informed people no small amount of concern.

If there were a time that we could use some words of comfort or advice from the Prince of Peace, this is it.

Fortunately, his voice is not that far away. Have we forgotten what he said?

“I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matt 28:20

“If he is with us always, even unto the end of the world, then where is he?” asks the skeptic.

He is much closer than you may suppose. Close your eyes, still your thoughts and feelings. Let peace abide in your soul, love in your heart, and resist not the light that streams into your mind. When you find that point where peace, love and light meet, then you will know that He is here, that He has never left us alone. You will hear the Master speak:

Be not afraid, my friend, for it is I. I am indeed aware of your concern over the times in which we live and the turbulence thereof, but this is not new. Each cycle has its own set of difficulties that seem to call for a savior, but as each cycle passes humanity survives, learns a lesson and moves on to the next challenge. Each new challenge is a little different than the previous. People complain about these difficulties, but in the end we make another step closer to peace on earth good will to all men, women and living creatures including the earth itself.

I said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”

And who are the peacemakers?

These are they who go within and from that great center of peace hear my voice and know the oneness of that center which is linked to all the children of God.

The peacemakers look not for perfect peace without, but seek it within. When the peace is discovered then nothing without can disturb it.

Consider my life which did not seem to be outwardly peaceful.

Herod tried to kill me shortly after birth. My family had to flee to Egypt for safety. When I taught many religious authorities challenged me and argued with me. When I performed miracles they accused me of using the powers of Satan.

My disciples did not understand me and argued among themselves and one close to me betrayed me leading to an agonizing crucifixion.

Even though great conflict and uproar followed me wherever I went I was still a peacemaker for I brought the peace that passes all understanding.

When I greeted my friends I often said:

“Peace be unto you.”

These were more than words for great thought and intent were also conveyed. When my friends heard these words their hearts were penetrated and their souls rejoiced. A sense of peace came over their entire being.

The outer gods and christs bring the sword of division, but the inner brings peace and unity. The true peacemakers light the inner candle that glows and sends peace, light and love and lights the inner candle of associates. The peacemaker widens his circle of inner peace wherever he goes.

If you want to do your part in bringing peace on earth then find my peaceful presence at the core of your being and from that point of focus send peace to whoever will receive.

Say, or at least think, “Peace be unto you,” to all you meet this Christmas season. In doing this you move the world a step closer to outer peace as well as inner peace.

One more time… Hear my voice penetrate your whole being.

“Peace be unto you – may the love of God rest upon you.”

The Prince of Peace

The greatest inner peace can be had at the time of the most tumultuous outer conflict.

This truth was beautifully illustrated by none other than the one the world calls the “Prince of Peace,” the Christ.

He regularly greeted his disciples with the phrase, “Peace be unto you,” yet the Master had little outer peace.

Everywhere he went authorities threatened him.

Religious leaders were constantly challenging his teachings.

His life was in constant danger.

He was rejected by his hometown.

He had “No where to lay his head.”

His disciples were competing for his attention.

Thousands of ordinary people followed him wanting his attention and healing.

Tax collectors were after him.

People ignored his core message of love, the gathering and inclusiveness and just wanted something done for them in the immediate moment.

There was little reason for him to speak of peace…

But – of peace He did speak – and often.

Of what manner of peace did He speak?

A hint was given in his words to Pilate: “My kingdom is not of this world.”

Neither is his peace of this world.

Let us tune in to the mind of Christ through the Oneness Principle for further light:

My beloved friends.  I know your hearts are troubled at this time. If your attention is on the outer world there is much available to threaten or to take away your peace.  Many think they live in the worst of times where fear is inescapable and peace is not to be found.

Many times in history it was worse than it is now including the time my feet tread the earth in Israel. Who among you could have walked in my shoes in the midst of slavery, turmoil and expectations of the end of the world and lifted up the standard of peace – a message that has endured through the ages and still lifts the hearts of the downtrodden to this day?

Verily, you could not have done this in your present consciousness so I did it for you.  I have shown what the spirit of man can do in the midst of distress, that in the depths of the deepest valley the highest mountaintop can be seen.

To find and share the great peace of God I placed my attention on a kingdom, which is not of this world, the kingdom of God which is in the mind of God. Both the turbulence and the peace of this world will pass away, but the peace of my kingdom will always be and it is ever present before your vision should you chose to see.

Choose light over darkness and enter into the rest of your Lord.

Cross the threshold and hear my words:

“My peace I give unto you.”

Cross the threshold and feel the Spirit:

“Feel the peace.”

Cross the threshold and be one with God:

“Nothing can disturb the peace of God.”

Yes, I know – to many these statements just seem but words, but they are not.  They are signposts to a greater reality – your true home to be experienced by your true self.

I want you to see in front of you a point of light. Now I want you to close your eyes and continue to see it growing larger until you are one with the flame.

Do this now and open your eyes when done.

The Birth of the Christ Within, Part 1

The title of tonight’s class is “The Birth of the Christ Within.” Now it is interesting that wherever the name Christ is circulated it seems to create and cause a lot of controversy. Even as innocent a thing as Christmas does this. We turn on the TV these days and we see an assault on Christmas itself. There are arguments about taking the Christ out of Christmas. They want to call a Christmas tree a holiday tree and want to say happy holidays instead of merry Christmas. So even the most innocent appearance of the name of Christ is creating a controversy.

It is interesting that when Jesus was sending His disciples off He said to them, “Ye shall be hated of all the world for my name’s sake.” It is interesting that where the name of Christ manifests there is controversy created. And the last element of controversy around the name of Christ seems to be the celebration of his birthday. Just even wishing somebody Merry Christmas seems to upset a lot of people these days.

When I was kid it did not upset anyone you just said Merry Christmas and you did not even know about that happy holidays thing you just said merry Christmas and there was just a Christmas tree and that was it. Now there is a controversy over this very innocent sounding holiday. If you wish somebody Merry Christmas you are going to leave out the Muslims, Jews, Buddhists and the new agers like us. So it is interesting how just the name of Christ in circulation causes controversy and friction even though He is called the Prince of Peace. What happened when the Prince of Peace came?

Audience: War

JJ: Was there peace around Him where ever He walked? No wherever He went people wanted to kill Him. So doesn’t that seem strange that He appears as the Prince of Peace and the first thing that happens is that all the authorities around Him become upset and begin to have secret little conferences as to how to get rid of the guy. Finally they crucify Him and they think they are finally rid of Him. He is dead and gone and just one more troublemaker that they don’t have to worry about anymore. Well about three days later they had to change their minds on that idea. And so it is fascinating that as the name of Christ was circulated over the ages we had the crusades and the crusades was fought over what?

Audience: Fought over the name of Christ.

JJ: Fought over the name of Christ and to secure the name of Christ in Jerusalem. They wanted to re-take Jerusalem and secure the name of Christ there so the name of Christ could dominate. What did Constantine see in a vision that made him want to go out and conquer the world? He saw a vision of a cross in the heavens and he heard these words spoken “by this you shall conquer.” So all of a sudden Constantine changed from being a Roman Emperor and became a Christian Emperor and he decide to conquer the world in the name of Christ.

It interesting that the name of Christ, the one called the Prince of Peace creates disturbance wherever His name manifests. Admittedly it is most probable that Constantine did not receive a vision from Christ or the higher spheres but from the lower astral realm. He was probably given information from a lower vibration to go and conquer the earth. As a matter of fact he corrupted a lot of the teachings of Christ and he was one that initiated the great changes away from real truth. He told the Christians basically, look we are going to stop persecuting you if you change your doctrines to what we tell you. If you change your doctrines and teachings to the way the State wants then we will quit persecuting you.

So a lot of Christians thought, well I guess that would be worth About 95% of them went along with the changes but there was a small number that thought they are not going to change and continue to teach what they have been taught. Well this small percentage that was left over were persecuted more than ever and the Empire did everything it could to get rid of this group that held out. They were hunted down like dogs and persecuted because they did not go along with the changes of the Roman Emperor.

Ironically, He was called the prince of peace. Often times when He met with His disciples one of the first things He said to them was what, do you remember what His introductory statement was when He met with His disciples?

Audience: Peace be with you.

JJ: Right peace be unto you. What do you suppose it felt like to be in His presence and have Him say that to you? Peace be unto you. Now imagine that I am the Christ; visualize that I am He and I say to you, peace be unto you. Do you think it would feel a little bit different than if say Wayne said it to you?

Audience: Chuckling!

JJ: I’ll tell how Wayne would say it you, Hey you want a piece of me!

Audience: Laughing!

JJ: But anyway that was His introductory statement and I believe that when He said that to them that they did feel something, they felt a presence about Him and they felt an inner peace around Him because He had such a great peace within Him self. It is interesting that when they were on the ship and this giant storm came up and the disciples were doing everything they could to save the boat from sinking – it was tossing and turning all over the place and as they were trying to save the boat from sinking they were saying, where is Jesus at – we haven’t seen Him around.

They went down below deck and Jesus was down there sleeping! And they were shouting, good grief how can He sleep? The boat is tossing and turning like crazy and there Jesus is sleeping! So they wake Him up and they said Master awake and save us we are going to sink here in this great storm and you can’t be sleeping! So Jesus yawns and got up and goes up on deck and says, oh ye have little faith!

Audience: Chuckling!

JJ: Then Jesus said, peace; be still. All of a sudden the storm went away. The boat just sat there on very still waters. At that time when He said the word peace it really had an affect, not only on His followers but on the sea, the ship and the people that were there. One person on the ship said, who is this man that even the elements obey Him? Why did the elements obey Him and why was it that when He said peace, something happened? Curtis

Curtis: Because He was connected with the elements and the deva’s and the all the powers that be and He was the Christ. He had the power of Christ and the power of God in Him.

JJ: I thought you knew the answer, darn it!

Audience: Laughing!

JJ: When He said peace it had an affect because within His soul, the inner part of His being was a tremendous peace. The words that you speak will have no power unless that word is within you and the word peace was within Him. This was His greeting to His fellow man, peace be unto you. It had an affect because within Him was a great sense of peace, a peace that passes all understanding. Have you ever had a peace that seemed to surpass all understanding and was so great that you could really not put it into words?

There is a peace that is like an absence of noise but that is kind of tranquility and not necessarily peace. Then there is a peace that goes beyond the absence of noise, what the scriptures call a peace that passes all understanding. If the person has that peace within him then when he speaks the word peace, he speaks it from his soul. Have you ever considered how it was that Jesus had the power to heal people?

Fundamental Doctrines

INTRODUCTION

 TEACHER: Today’s lesson reviews some fundamentals of The New Age. First we are going to show you from the scriptures why the churches are lacking in knowledge and stimulation. Next we are going to talk about Jesus Christ and the mystery of his name. Then we will go into the real purpose of baptism and the Holy Spirit. Finally we will show that the Bible itself teaches that it does not contain a fullness of His word and prophets and revelation exist today as much or more than it did in ancient times. We think you will find this and other lessons we have quite stimulating and interesting. But first why don’t you tell us a little about your background. Are you familiar with any church?

STUDENT: Yes. (Discuss his or her background a few minutes).

 

TEACHER: There are certainly a large number of churches in the world today. There are over a thousand Christian as well hundreds of non Christian faiths. Why do you think there are so many?

STUDENT: I guess people have different ideas and interpretations.

 

TEACHER: Do you think they could all be right?

STUDENT: Not really. (Only use the next paragraph if he thinks one is as right as another).

 

TEACHER: There are many opposing doctrines taught in the churches where both sides cannot be correct. For instance some teach that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, a perfect man. Others teach that he was a fraud and imposter. Both teachings could not be correct now could they?

STUDENT: I guess not.

 

TEACHER: On the other hand, none of the churches are entirely wrong either. They all teach us to submit to God and love our brother and sister don’t they?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CHURCHES?

 TEACHER: A person with pure intent will get some good out of any church. The problem is that they all have some good things about them, but they do not take the people far enough. The Bible talks about these problems connected with our day. Let us read here in Isaiah: [Scripture #1] (Read Isaiah 29:9-10) Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. It tells us here that the people of our day will not be drunk with regular wine, but with what?

STUDENT: A deep sleep.

 

TEACHER: Yes. The scripture tells us that this condition of sleep has caused the prophets and rulers to be “covered” and the people’s eyes will be closed. Have you noticed that many of the religious people of today seem to have their eyes closed to new knowledge and new and better ways of doing things?

STUDENT: It seems so. (The problems in the Middle East are a good example.)

 

TEACHER: Let us read more about this subject. Here in Chapter 28 the Lord is talking to people of our day that he calls the “drunkards of Ephraim”. [Scripture #2](Read Isaiah 28:7) But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgement. We have seen from the last quote that drunkenness is not always caused by a literal wine. The wine the ministers of today are drunk with is the scriptures. That may seem funny that the religious leaders and followers are drunk on the scriptures but when you think of all the things that people do in the name of God, it makes sense. Have you heard of people going to war because of some literal interpretation of the Bible or some other religious book?

STUDENT: Yes I have.

 

TEACHER: And have you heard of people abusing children because of something written in the scriptures?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: There are many other strange things people do who are drunk with scripture. They handle poisonous snakes, many men are tyrants over their wives in God’s name. Others believe babies are in a state of sin. Some hate other races because of the Bible. Some will die rather than take a blood transfusion. Many believe their priest or prophet cannot make a mistake when talking about religion because they have a special place with God. Others sell everything they have and go to a mountain top to await the return of Jesus believing he will destroy everyone but themselves. Others will not let their children go to school because they think it is controlled by Satan. Others think the Bible contains all the truth in the world. One of the most common signs of drunkenness is that most religious people think that God is going to send everyone to hell that does not have the same belief system as they do even if they are good and loving people. Now when you think about it, doesn’t it seem like people would have to be drunk to believe and do these things?

STUDENT: It would seem so.

 

TEACHER: Would you say that Isaiah is right when he says they err in vision, they stumble in judgement.

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Now read verse eight. [Scripture #3] For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. Do you think that some religious leaders, like the child abusers we read of, helped to fulfill this prophecy?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: There are many other things besides infidelity that cause uncleanliness. The only real sin condemned by Jesus was hypocrisy. Do you think that this is a problem with the teachers today?

STUDENT: Definitely.

 

TEACHER: One of the biggest problems in this area is that many people teach love, but do not demonstrate it. Have you noticed this before?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Now read verse nine: [Scripture #4] Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. The apostle Peter tells us that milk is the scriptures. (See I Peter 2:2) and breasts are linked with organizations that claim to be God’s people (see Isa 66:11). Isn’t it interesting that God says that people will have to look beyond the scriptures and churches to find knowledge and understanding?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Next read verse 10: [Scripture #5] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. What does the scripture say “must” be added?

STUDENT: Precepts must be added.

 

TEACHER: Wouldn’t it be difficult to continue to add precepts, knowledge and understanding if we used nothing else but the Bible?

STUDENT: I suppose so.

 

TEACHER: All of our schools and universities add much knowledge that is not in the Bible. On the other hand, there is much spiritual knowledge that the Bible does not clearly explain. For instance, it does not plainly tell us what happens after we die or how the universe was created. Have you ever had questions that have not been answered from the Bible?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Verse eleven tells us why he repeated himself in verse ten: [Scripture #6] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. We are taught in English today which is a different language than Isaiah used but the word “stammering” is particularly interesting. It comes from the Hebrew LAEG (Law-ayg) which indicates a silly or imperfect repetition of a foreign speech or a foreign person. Therefore he is prophesying that the people of today will be taught out of the Bible (which was written by a foreign people in another tongue) with silly repetition. Does this prophecy seem to be fulfilled?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Now read verse 12: [Scripture #7] To whom he said, this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. God has always promised his people a rest and refreshing. He did through Moses (Exodus 33:14) and also through Jesus. You may remember the words of Jesus when he said: [Scripture #8] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt 11:28-30) Would you say that the ministers of the world have made the burden of the people easier or heavier?

STUDENT: It would seem to be heavier.

 

TEACHER: The burdens they have heaped upon the people have been great. They expect them to give large sums of money and the people get nothing in return but a large stone building and a sermon once a week. Followers give ministers their dedication, but they receive no new precepts, they give of their spirit yet they get no healing. Lastly they give them custody of their souls yet they have much more guilt and a heavier yoke than the so-called heathen. All the teaching of the scriptures is directed toward lifting our burdens and entering into the rest of God, but how does it say that people will react toward the invitation of rest?

STUDENT: That they would not hear it.

 

TEACHER: It is amazing that people almost seem to want to have guilt, worries and heavy burdens. Now read Isaiah 28 verse thirteen: [Scripture #9] But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept: line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. Here he repeats or stammers on the words, “precepts” and “lines” again. Why do you suppose he does that?

STUDENT: To emphasize that the people will be taught with great repetition.

 

TEACHER: The little light they are given with great repetition will cause the people to do what?

STUDENT: To fall backward, and be broken, and snared and taken.

 

TEACHER: How do the scriptures, even if they are true, make the people fall backward?

STUDENT: The teachers and the people are asleep and do not understand them.

 

TEACHER: The word “taken” comes from the Hebrew Lâkad (Law-kad) which means “caught in a trap.” The great repetition and misunderstanding of simple scriptures will actually lead the people backward, instead of forward, into a trap that God has set for the Bible teachers of today. Isaiah tells us in this same chapter that a “report” (verse 19) or message of light will be given and certain calamities will follow it to get the people’s attention. But the trap will be seen when regular church teachings are compared to this message. Is a light more visible in daylight or darkness?

STUDENT: In darkness

 

TEACHER: The people will see the trap set for the Bible teachers when their darkness is compared with the light of the New Age. The Bible tells us that people will not only stumble with the scriptures, but with Christ himself. Peter here talks about this. (Read I Peter 2:8) [Scripture #10] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. Here Peter tells us that those who stumble at the word, or the scriptures, and do not fulfill their appointments will have Jesus as “a stone of stumbling.” We talked about how teachers are often blind to the scriptures. Do you think that many of them are also blind to the Living Christ and who he really is?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER:In the days of the early Christians Paul wrote concerning those who thought they had a corner on the scriptures in that day; (Read Romans 11:8-10) [Scripture #11] (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap. and a stumblingblock, and a recompense to them: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. Do you think that history is repeating itself and that this scripture applies to the religions today?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

JESUS CHRIST AND THE MYSTERY OF HIS NAME

 TEACHER: It is important here that we clear up some of the darkness surrounding Jesus. The various sects today are purporting the idea that Jesus is the one and only Son of God. The Bible, on the other hand, shows Jesus as our wiser brother who came to show us an example and to teach us. A lot of the problem is caused through mistranslation. Let us read John 10:36: [Scripture #12] Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said I am the Son of God? Notice Jesus is quoted as saying he is “the” Son of God but in the Greek that it is translated from there is no ‘the’ and it is correctly translated as “a Son of God.” Why do you suppose the translators mistranslate it even though they know better?

STUDENT: Because it goes along with what they believe.

 

TEACHER: It is surprising that they did not repeat the error with the word Saviour because most sects call him “the Saviour.” Let us read Luke 2:11: [Scripture #13] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. When someone is called “the” something it generally means he is the only one, but when he is called “a” something it means he is one of many. Since Jesus was called a Son of God and a Saviour would this mean that there are other Sons of God and other Saviours besides him?

STUDENT: I suppose so.

 

TEACHER: We will prove it. Read Obediah verse 21: [Scripture #14] And Saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s. How do we know there will be more than one saviour here?

STUDENT: Because Saviours is plural.

 

TEACHER: There are numerous instances in the scriptures where we are called brethren to Jesus. (See: Matt 25:40; Heb 2:11 & Rom 8:29) If Jesus is our brother would we also not be sons of God?

STUDENT: I would think so.

 

TEACHER: There are many scriptures that teach this. We’ll just read one (Read Romans 8:14-17): [Scripture #15] For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. How many of us are sons of God according to verse 14?

STUDENT: As many as are lead by the Spirit.

 

TEACHER: It says we will be joint-heirs with Christ. What does this mean?

STUDENT: It would mean that we will inherit the same benefits that he will.

 

TEACHER: Another false teaching is that the man Jesus created the heaven and earth. This is because Jesus is identified with the word of God in John (Read John 1:1-3): [Scripture #16] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. If Jesus was the Word it certainly sounds like he created everything, doesn’t it?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: There is an important word here that is mistranslated. In verse three instead of “him” it should read “it.” Now read it over and tell me how that changes the meaning.

STUDENT: “It” would not refer to a person.

 

TEACHER: “It” here is the creative Spirit of God that not only flows through Jesus, but through all of us. Just as Jesus is not the only Word he is also not the only Christ. To understand what Christ is it would be helpful to read all of First Corinthians Chapter Twelve. We will just take time for verse 12 however: [Scripture #17] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. Here Christ is not referred to as a person but what?

STUDENT: A body.

 

TEACHER: Does it say that the body has one member, or many members?

STUDENT: Many members.

 

TEACHER: Now read verse 27. It tells who the members of the body were: [Scripture #18] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. Who are the members that made up Christ?

STUDENT: The people Paul was writing to and probably us today also.

 

TEACHER: The man Jesus is not all of Christ there is but is merely the head (Colossians 1:18) of the body of Christ. Now another startling fact is that the Master from Galilee is only one of many that bears the name of Jesus Christ. The name actually signifies a calling and means “anointed to deliver, or save.” Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, but there are many who cooperate in that calling. The man Jesus is our head or leader, but the name is shared with infinite beings throughout the universe. Others who were called Christ or Messiah (which has the same meaning) are Saul (I Sam 24:10), David (Psalms 89:38), King Cyrus (Isaiah 45:1, Israel Psalms 105:14-15) and the High Priest (Leviticus 4:5). The root of the word is used in connection with the early saints: (Read II Corinthians 1:21) [Scripture #19] Now he which stablishesth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God. The word “anointed” here comes from the same root as Christ does and could be translated as “Christed”. Now read it again translated this way.

STUDENT: Now he which stablishesth us with you in Christ, and hath Christed us, is God.

 

TEACHER: Were other people besides Jesus Christed then?

STUDENT: It appears so.

 

TEACHER: This name that we can share is a great mystery and a stumbling block to the religions throughout history. Let us read here where Paul is talking about Jesus Christ. (Read Ephesians 1:21): [Scripture #20] {He is} Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in the world to come. The name of Jesus Christ is higher than any name not only in this world, but where else?

STUDENT: Also the world to come.

 

TEACHER: Now read Philippians 2:9: [Scripture #21] Wherefore God hath highly exalted him (Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name. The name of Jesus Christ is higher than how many names?

STUDENT: “Every name.”

 

TEACHER: Jesus often talked about his Father’s name. Let us read an interesting scripture about it. Read the first two lines of verses 6 & 26 in John Chapter 17. [Scripture #22] I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me… And I have declared unto them (the disciples) thy name, and will declare it… Here we are told that Jesus revealed to men the name of the Father. Do you remember any scripture where Jesus identified the name of the Father?

STUDENT: No.

TEACHER: The name of the Father was revealed many times. We have just missed it. We can read a hint in the last sentence of John 14:28: [Scripture #23] My Father is greater than I. Who was the greatest? Jesus or his Father?

STUDENT: The Father.

 

TEACHER: Therefore who should have the greatest name?

STUDENT: The Father

 

TEACHER: But who does the scriptures say has the highest name in this world or the world to come? (Refer back to Eph. 1:21 and Phil 2:9 [Scriptures 20&21] if necessary)

STUDENT: Jesus Christ

 

TEACHER: How could Jesus Christ have the highest name when the Father is greater?

STUDENT: I’m not sure.

 

TEACHER: We’ll read one more scripture to clarify this. Let us turn to John 10:25: [Scripture #24] Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed me not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. Whose name did Jesus do his works in?

STUDENT: The Father’s.

 

TEACHER: And what name was that?

STUDENT: The name of Jesus Christ.

 

TEACHER: This makes everything logical. If the name of Jesus Christ is the highest then and the Father is greater than the man Jesus, then the name of the Father would also have to be the highest name, wouldn’t it?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Obviously, the Father would not have a lower name than the Son. On the other hand do not sons carry the same name as their fathers?

STUDENT: Yes they do?

 

TEACHER: This is verified in Ephesians 3:14-15: [Scripture #25] For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. Earlier we read that God’s sons are those who have his Spirit. Would you agree that the Father’s family are the Sons and Daughters of God, or those who are in tune with His Spirit?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: This scripture says that God’s family in heaven and on earth is named after who?

STUDENT: The Father.

 

TEACHER: And what name does he have?

STUDENT: Jesus Christ.

 

TEACHER: Do you remember what this name means?

STUDENT: Anointed to deliver or save.

 

TEACHER: The reason it is the highest name is because there is no greater calling in the universe than to be anointed to deliver or save others from a lower estate or plane of consciousness and bring them up higher. Can you think of a greater work than helping someone else in their progression?

STUDENT: No.

 

TEACHER: As final evidence of this let us read the final words of Jesus to his disciples: (Read Matthew 28:19) [Scripture #26] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Look at the word “name” here and tell me if it is singular or plural.

STUDENT: It is singular.

 

TEACHER: Now if the Father, Son and Holy Ghost had three names it would read “the names of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost,” but because it is singular, how many names would he be referring to?

STUDENT: One name.

 

TEACHER: Peter clearly tells us what name that was (Read Acts 2:38): [Scripture #27] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. So what was the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost that they were commanded by Jesus to be baptized in?

STUDENT: The name of Jesus Christ.

 

TEACHER: The next thing we need to learn is how to take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ. An ordinance was instituted to help us accomplish this. Do you know what it was?

STUDENT: Was it baptism?

 

TEACHER: Let us read the effect of baptism: (Read Galatians 3:27): [Scripture #28] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. What is supposed to happen through baptism?

STUDENT: We put on Christ.

 

TEACHER: Do you suppose that means that we take his name upon us as well as his nature?

STUDENT: It could.

 

TEACHER: Not only do we take his name upon us but we also are to bear his image. (Read Romans 8:29): [Scripture #29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son [Christ], that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Whose image are we supposed to bear?

STUDENT: The Christ or the Son of God.

 

TEACHER: How do we know from this scripture that Jesus will not be the only Christ, or the last one born?

STUDENT: Because it calls him the firstborn among many brethren. Therefore there are going to be many more like him.

 

TEACHER: In addition we are supposed to have another part of Christ in us. Read here in Philippians: (Phil 2:5-6) [Scripture #30] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. What is supposed to be in us?

STUDENT: The same mind that was in Jesus.

 

TEACHER: Now let us read about what we are supposed to be like when the Master appears: (Read I John 3:2) [Scripture #31] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. What are we to be like when he appears?

STUDENT: Like him.

 

TEACHER: And why is that?

STUDENT: Because we shall see him as he is.

 

TEACHER: And what is he?

STUDENT: Our brother. (Remember he was the firstborn of many brethren?)

 

 

BAPTISM AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

 TEACHER: The mode of baptism as well as the reason is clearly given by Paul: (Read Romans 6:3-5) [Scripture #32] Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. When we are buried in the water through baptism it is a symbol of what?

STUDENT: The burial of Christ in the tomb.

 

TEACHER: And what is being raised up out of the water a symbol of?

STUDENT: Christ being raised from the dead

 

TEACHER: It is also a symbol of being born again. Before we are born for the first time we are completely submerged in water. By submerging ourselves completely in water through baptism we are symbolizing a new birth. Let us read about this newness. (Read II Cor 5:17) [Scripture #33] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. This new birth is a symbol of starting over in the life of the Spirit with a clean slate, as if all past mistakes have never been, and all guilt is instantly washed away. Why do you suppose Jesus, the greatest of us all, was baptized?

STUDENT: To set the example for us.

 

TEACHER: Do you remember what descended and rested upon Jesus when he was baptized?

STUDENT: The Spirit of God

 

TEACHER: There is an ordinance to assist us in receiving the spirit which is mentioned in Acts Chapter Eight verses fourteen through seventeen: [Scripture #34] Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost. (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. What did the apostles do to help the church members receive the Holy Ghost?

STUDENT: They laid their hands on them.

 

TEACHER: Again this follows a correspondence. Right after we are born we come out of water and have the spirit of life enter us. After we are born spiritually through baptism what is to enter us?

STUDENT: The spirit of God.

 

 

CONTINUAL REVELATION

 TEACHER: Many of the churches today teach that all that God has to say to man is contained in the Bible. Does it make any sense that God would speak to people in one age, but not another?

STUDENT: Not really

 

TEACHER: The Bible indicates that this is true. (Read Acts 10:34) [Scripture #35] Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respector of persons. If this is true would God respect the people in one age and give them revelation, but close the windows of heaven to their requests in another?

STUDENT: I would not think so.

 

TEACHER: Many churches teach that there will be no more prophets after Jesus, but this is not in harmony with the Bible. Let us read here in Ephesians (Eph 2:19-20): [Scripture #36] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God. And are built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. What is the foundation of the church of Christ?

STUDENT: Apostles and prophets.

 

TEACHER: The Bible even names prophets that were in the church after Jesus left. (Read Acts 13:1) [Scripture #37] Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. How many prophets were named in the one city of Antioch alone?

STUDENT: Four: Barnabas, Simeon, Lucius, and Manaen.

 

TEACHER: Now a prophet is one who has power to prophesy or reveal spiritual truths. An important ingredient in becoming a prophet is mentioned in the Book of Revelations: (Rev 19:10) [Scripture #38] And I fell at his (the angel’s) feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy. This scripture tells us that we will have the spirit of prophecy if what happens?

STUDENT: If we have a testimony of Jesus.

 

TEACHER: If you had the spirit of prophecy then you’d be a prophet, wouldn’t you?

STUDENT: I suppose so.

 

TEACHER: This spirit is supposed to rest upon many people in the time we are approaching. We can read about this in Joel (Read Joel 2:28-29) [Scripture #39] And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. It sounds like there will be many prophets doesn’t it?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: Will the prophets be just men, or men and women?

STUDENT: The scripture mentions daughters and handmaids so it must be men and women.

 

TEACHER: Did you ever think that you may become a prophet yourself?

STUDENT: I never thought about it that way.

 

TEACHER: We must always remember that the gifts of the Spirit are for all men and women, not just a select few. One of the reasons many churches do not believe in revelation today is because of one of the last verses in the Bible. (Read Revelations 22:18): [Scripture #40] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. Many people think that the book talked about here is the Bible and that whoever adds new revelation to it will be damned, but did the Bible even exist as a book at the time John was writing the Book of Revelations?

STUDENT: No.

 

TEACHER: The Bible was not compiled as we have it today until hundreds of years later; therefore what book could John have been referring to?

STUDENT: The Book of Revelations.

 

TEACHER: John was merely telling readers not to alter his book. If you wrote an inspired book you wouldn’t want people to change it either, would you?

STUDENT: I guess not.

 

TEACHER: Furthermore John himself added to the Bible after the Book of Revelations was written. Scholars say that he wrote the Gospel of John after the Book of Revelations and that it is the last book written for the Bible. Therefore, if the books of the Bible were placed in chronological order the Book of John would be last. Now let us read the true last verse of the Bible. (Read John 21:25) [Scripture #41] And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. Does this sound like that there could be more spiritual books than just the Bible?

STUDENT: It certainly does.

 

TEACHER: In fact the Bible clearly tells us that all things hidden shall be revealed. (Read Luke 12:2): [Scripture #42] For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Do you think it will take more than the Bible to reveal all hidden things to mankind?

STUDENT: Definitely.

 

TEACHER: In the past God has revealed his word through scriptures. You are probably aware that there are many other scriptures in the world. Almost every religion has some type of holy book. We read earlier that God is no respector of persons. Therefore do you think he may have given inspiration and revelation to other people besides the Jews?

STUDENT: It is possible.

 

TEACHER: Therefore do you think that these other world scriptures may also have many worthwhile things in them just as the Bible does?

STUDENT: Probably.

 

TEACHER: A church teaching the truth does not recognize any book or an interpretation of any book as infallible because all truths have to be filtered through human consciousness. But we can get infallible truth from any scripture if we read it in connection with what?

STUDENT: The Spirit of God within us.

 

TEACHER: Therefore we encourage people to read and teach from any of the world scriptures that teach truths that are verified by our Higher Selves. Does that sound fair enough?

STUDENT: Yes.

 

TEACHER: There are many other good books in the world too numerous to mention that teaches many great and important principles. We encourage people to read and study several books which we believe are revelations given out either through Jesus Christ or under His direction. They are as follows: (1) Many of the world scriptures. (2) The Secret Doctrine through Madame H. P. Blavatski. This was published in 1888 and revealed by a Master working under the Christ. It contains introductory teachings for the New Age. (3) The writings of Alice A. Bailey. She published twenty-four books with revelations from the same Master. These contain the intermediate teachings for the New Age. The advanced teachings will be given out around 2025. (4) The Course In Miracles. This is a three-volume set designed to lead us away from the illusion to the true reality. (5) The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ. This is a revelation given out around the turn of the century giving a history of the entire life of Jesus. (6) Inspired writings that will be given out from time to time. This ought to give us plenty of study materials for a while, shouldn’t it?

STUDENT: You’d think so.

The Astral World

JJ: Now the next world is composed of atoms but a different type of atom. The atoms there are even more ephemeral and have more empty space than the physical and can thus pass through the physical. There might be an astral being right here, as a matter of fact, Sean has been seeing guides around people tonight and I am sure if there was a guide right here my hand would pass right through him. Do you see guides around anyone now? What do you see Sean?

Sean: I can see some next to you just off your left shoulder.

JJ passes his hand and asks if his hand passed right through this guide.

Sean: He backed off but the others are still standing there next to him.

JJ: I am not going to feel them because they are made of more refined matter than the matter we have here on our physical plane and this matter is refined enough when you think about how much of it is empty space. This just boggles the mind. So they are made of more refined matter but wherever there is physical form, when the form touches form there is an actual sensation of touch.

Now it is interesting that whenever there is communication in the lower part of the astral world they will talk just like we do. As you move up in the astral world in the intermediate spheres then they can talk just like we do or they can send different types of messages in like packages.

Audience: Like computer downloads.

JJ: Yes, and then as you move up further they do not talk at all, they just send messages by mental telepathy and sometimes they will get a flash of color and then the message will just be understood by them after they see that light flash of color. And vision is not interfered with as it is here. Like say if Sean was four times farther away I would not be able to tell if it was Sean but in the astral world if he is apparently a thousand miles away you could still see him up close and you could think about him being here and he would be here. In the lower worlds communication and travel is similar to what you have here but the higher you get the faster everything gets. Eventually when you get into the higher parts of the astral world you can crisscross if you want to see a friend a thousand miles away you just think it and you will be there instantaneously.

Time is different there than it is here in the fact that there is really no time to reckon. So some people say that there is no time in the other worlds but there is time everywhere but time is just is not measured everywhere. In our world here we have to go to work and time ourselves by the rising and setting of the Sun but in a world where there is eternal light and no change that causes you to not measure time and you do not think about it. And that is why some people have said there is no time in the astral world. It is in a state of timelessness and it seems that way but when you are in the astral world, time still passes. It still takes time to learn things, absorb things, take things in, but because you have all the time in the world it seems like time does not exist. Now the interesting thing about time is that it always exists but there are many places that we can go to in the higher spheres where it does not seem to exist because we are not reckoning by it.

Now in the astral world you have teachers that go from a higher sphere to a lower and assist and help the people down there. A person can move from one sphere to another when he learns his lessons and the teachers will often come down and they will be bathed in light and they will come down to the lower worlds and they will teach the people there the lessons they need to learn to go to the next sphere up. When they are ready accept their lessons and once they learn them then they can go to the next sphere up and they can better prepare for the next life to come.

Another interesting thing about the astral world is people will say, “Well it will be interesting once I die because then I will find out all the mysteries.” We do not really find out all the mysteries after we die. We just find that we have more questions after death because normally you don’t meet God or Jesus who sits there and explains everything to you. Perhaps you read the book “Embraced by the Light” where she immediately met Jesus and He explained a whole bunch of stuff to her. So what goes on here?

The thing is, The Christ Himself is on the earth right now in a physical body and He is not even in the astral world, now he can visit there if He wants to because He has power to visit any of the worlds that He wants. He is actually in a physical body right now and He lives on the earth. He said, “ Behold I am with you even until the end of the age.” He told this to His disciples.

What He meant by this is that He would be upon the earth until the end of the age living here with us. According to DK The Christ lives on the borders of Tibet in a physical body, DK also lives in a physical body and they are neighbors to each other.

Audience: Do all the Masters have physical bodies?

JJ: Yes, all the Masters have physical or etheric bodies.

Audience: What about the Buddha does He have a physical body?

JJ: Yes but He was supposed to leave the earth.

Audience: But He chose not to.

JJ: Yes He chose not to, you read that, very good, and because He chose not He works in what is called a Nirmanakaya which is a different office than a Master. Nirmanakaya is a go between the fifth kingdom of the Masters and Shamballa so the Nirmanakaya is actually in the sixth kingdom so that is what the Buddha is right now a go between Shamballa and the Masters. I do not believe He is in a physical body but He could be if He has taken on another life since the Buddha but we do not have any information on that.

Audience: So usually the Masters just keep a physical body to hang around in?

JJ: They have not really transcended the physical body yet; they have learned to extend the life of the physical body. It is not until the seventh initiation that you can you can completely transcend the physical.

Audience: So they couldn’t continuously exist on the mental plane or something like that?

JJ: They could if They wanted but the Masters that work with humanity live in physical bodies but they are not quite immortal but they have the ability to revitalize their physical body for an extended period of time but they will not be in their bodies forever and then once they pass the seventh initiation they will be able to live in their body or out of their body, they will be able to live in their etheric body or manifest a physical body if they want.

The Christ underwent the beginning seventh initiation on the cross followed by the resurrection. Those of you who have read my writings will understand that the Christ and Jesus are two separate entities that at the baptism of Jesus, John saw the spirit of God come down and descend upon Jesus and it says that the Spirit of God went into Jesus. Now just before this John asked how he was supposed to recognize the Christ even though Jesus was his cousin. His answer was that he baptized all these people and saw the Spirit of God descend and then leave them but when you see the Spirit of God descend and enter in and stay there then you will recognize this to be the Christ. So who was the Christ? Was it the one who was baptized or was it the one who entered into the body of the one being baptized?

The one that entered into the body, that was the Christ and Jesus was the disciple that prepared the way for The Christ.

Audience: So Jesus lives in Tibet?

JJ: Not Jesus but the actual Christ lives in Tibet in a physical body. The Tibetan predicted that Jesus would make an attempt to take over the Catholic Church around 1980 or so. This came to pass when Pope John Paul I became head of the church. He was firing people and making changes like crazy and all of a sudden after 33 days; this is an interesting number because it corresponds to the 33 years of Jesus life, he was poisoned and killed. There is a book about this that gives a tremendous amount of evidence that he was poisoned.

Audience: Do we know where He is now?

JJ: He is buried, oh you mean Jesus!

Audience: Laughter!

JJ: I do not know if it was Jesus actually in the body or if Jesus was overshadowing the Pope. I felt really sad when he died and I did not know why because I was really not into the Catholic Church that much but on reflection it dawned on me that was probably the fulfillment of the prophecy. Then I read the book that gave all this evidence that he was poisoned and then when I saw all the changes he was starting to make, he was cleaning up all the corruption and firing everybody that was doing all the illegal stuff and taking advantage of people. The trouble was that he moved too fast and he should have moved slower but he moved too fast and he scared the dickens out of everybody. I am convinced he was poisoned because after all He was in good health.

Audience: Besides this timing for the individual unfoldment, to what is it going to take for The Christ to come forth and do what He has to do to move us forward?

JJ: The Tibetan says that several things have to happen before The Christ can manifest again. First of all a period of relative stability has to occur, and one of the places it needs to occur is the Middle East. This is why the war in Iraq is so important. If the war in Iraq can end with democracy and some stability that creates a little bit of a domino effect. Then it will make it possible for The Christ to come and walk in ancient lands where He was once before. This is one of the things that He wants to do is to be able to go there in that areas in the world where He wants to teach.

Audience: That is where President George W. Bush comes in.

JJ: Remember what Jesus says, “He who follows me will be hated by all the world.” And who is hated by all of the people of the world?

Audience: Bush,

JJ: Bush, the whole world hates him and what is Bush doing? He is trying to prepare a place of safety for the Messiah to walk upon the earth once more.

Audience: Bush does not realize what he is doing does he?

JJ: He does realize it because he got an answer. When I saw him on TV and he announced that he was sending troops into Iraq I received a revelation on that, I saw him and he was before the Lord kneeling in prayer and he did not know what to do. He did not know whether to send in troops or not and he got a powerful witness, a tremendous fire descended upon him and he received a witness that he was supposed to do it and this is why he has not backed down – this is why all of a sudden the whole world was against him and said hey you have got to withdraw and what did he do? He sent in a surge and everybody thought well this is a slap in the face when everybody else is telling us to withdraw and everybody was beside themselves when he created this surge. But the only reason he did this is because of the answer he received and he knows that he got an answer from God that he was supposed to take that course. The evidence of this is that the entire world hates him.

The entire world hates him. Ninety percent of the people in France want him out of office and ninety percent of the people in almost all Europe want him out of office except the old Soviet Union countries that remember what a tyranny was, they love him. The people in the country of Georgia had put up statues for Bush up and what did the Russia destroy first when they invaded?

The statues of Bush. They hit those statues with missiles. The airport in Georgia where there was a big statue up for Bush, they blasted that first. They hate Bush and it is a very delicate thing to talk about Bush because so many people hate him. If you are in a group even, Republicans will say, “Oh that son of a bitch, murdering bastard.” They have nothing good to say about the poor guy, but you have to admire him for getting an answer and standing up to it, even though the whole world hates him. If you want to be a disciple of Christ then this is what you will have to go through. Can you be hated by the whole world and still hold yourself together? That what will happen if we build a city on the ocean. Then the whole world will hate us. You think Bush is hated wait until we build a city on the ocean.

By the time the press is done with us we will look like a bunch of Jim Jones’s ready sink in the ocean. The environmentalists will say we are destroying the ocean and so on, everybody will think it is a bad idea and will hate us.

Eternal Lives, Chapter 16

Jesus and The Christ

Before we can appreciate who Jesus was in previous lives we must understand who he was when he lived his life as the Christ. Many there are who think they understand this, yet are far from the truth, for the real truth is so fantastic that the average man could not even keep the thought in his mind for one minute’s consideration; nevertheless, even this great matter is in the scriptures. The truth lies in that great statement by Jesus when he said: “I and My Father are one… the Father is in me, and I in him.” John 10:30, & 38

Does this mean that the Father and the Son are merely one in purpose, or does the meaning go much deeper than this?

As we examine the scriptures we see that the meaning is far different than imagined for John gives us a leading clue: “This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. AND I KNEW HIM NOT: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I coming baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. and I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, UPON WHOM THOU SHALT SEE THE SPIRIT DESCENDING AND REMAINING ON HIM, THE SAME IS HE WHICH BAPTIZETH WITH ‘THE HOLY GHOST. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.” John 1:30-34.

This scripture raises several interesting questions. First why was it that John the Baptist and Jesus were cousins, yet John said of Jesus “I knew him not”. You would think that if anyone knew that Jesus was the Christ that it would have been John for he was preparing the way for his own cousin!’ You would have thought that Mary and Joseph would have explained to the forerunner that their son was the Son of God. Why was it that God himself had to identify the Son of God to John?

The startling answer is that before Jesus was baptized by John in Jordan, the Son of God was not on the earth, but John was aware of how he was to come and he was awaiting verification of this from God. Jesus was the reincarnation of Joshua from the days of Moses but John and others were awaiting the presence of one far greater than him, and none were positive as to who it was that was going to receive this great entity in what we may want to call a divine possession, a possession that was completely voluntary. Some may refer to it as an overshadowing presence.

John knew through the Spirit that the Son of God was to be revealed through the ordinances he was performing and he was awaiting that final confirmation when he would see the Spirit descend and “remain” with some holy man. When this finally happened with his cousin Jesus he “saw and bare record that this is the Son of God.” Who then was the Son of God? Was it Jesus or the Spirit that descended and “remained” in Jesus?

Indeed it was the Spirit that John saw descending on Jesus. This entity was of such a high order that a pure body had to be prepared for him, for could not at that time incarnate directly among the Sons of Men. Thus after this great Spirit descended and “remained” with Jesus he became “one” with the Father within him and received great power yet always gave recognition to that Spirit and for three great years Jesus and the Son of God shared the same body. Even so, Jesus was a Son of God in his own right, just as the faithful are destined to be. The one who dwelt in him was often called the “Father” for the two had a Father-Son relationship.

The Book of Mormon seems to identify two entities here: “I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people. And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son – The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son. And THEY ARE ONE God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and earth. and thus the flesh (Jesus) becoming subject to the Spirit (Christ), or the Son to the Father…” Mosiah 15:1-5.

The meanings to these scriptures have even more depth than we are discussing so one must keep in mind that we are viewing one aspect of truth here.

The Doctrine and Covenants gives us further enlightenment on this doctrine: “I Am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one. The Father because he gave me of his fullness, (The Spirit descended on him), and the Son because I was in the world and made flesh my tabernacle, and dwelt among the sons of men. I was in the world and received of my Father, AND THE WORKS OF HIM WERE PLAINLY MANIFEST. And John saw and bore record of the fullness of my glory, and the fullness of John’s record is hereafter to be revealed.” D&C 93:3-6 Why couldn’t the fullness of John’s record be revealed earlier? Why couldn’t even Joseph Smith reveal it? Because the people were not prepared and scarcely are today, for when the fullness of the record of John is revealed it will undoubtedly reveal this doctrine, and who in the church could abide such a revelation?

The scripture continues: “And I, John, bear record that he received a fullness of the glory of the Father; And he received all power both in heaven and on earth, and the glory of the Father was with him, FOR HE DWELT IN HIM.” D&C 93:16-17

A careful reading of these scriptures will reveal that the meaning is literal as well as figurative. For instance Jesus said “My Father is greater than I.” John 14:28. At one time Jesus tried to explain to his disciples that he was not working alone, that his power was not his alone, but was coming from another higher entity who he called the “Father”. He said to his disciples: “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? HE THAT HATH SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: But THE FATHER THAT DWELLETH IN ME, HE DOTH THE WORKS.” John 14:7-10

Why was it that Jesus said that the Father was greater than himself if whoever saw him also saw the Father? The two statements are definitely contradictory with any other explanation except the one presented here. If they are one being then one cannot be greater than the other, but if they were two spirits co-existing in the same body then the statement can make sense. In fact, if one will read all the scriptures concerning oneness in this light he will see this as a master key to a great mystery.

Mormons feel that both the Father and the Son look alike physically and that is why Jesus said “he that hath seen me hath seen the Father”, but when one reads the whole scripture he will see that Jesus was not teaching this principle, even if it were true. For instance, a few verses later Jesus tells us that they have seen the Father because the Father was in him, not because they both looked alike. He even went so far as to say that it was not him that did the great works they saw, but the Father, “he doeth the works”.

There are numerous other scriptures that bear witness to the dual occupancy of the body of Jesus. One of the greatest was in response to a legitimate accusation of the Pharisees against the testimony of the mission of Jesus: “The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.” John 8:13 In making this statement they were referring to their law which said: “At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.” Deut. 19:15 This was repeated by Paul: “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” II Cor 13:1

Jesus gave an interesting response: “Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: FOR I AM NOT ALONE, BUT I AND THE FATHER THAT SENT ME.. It is also written in your law, that the testimony of TWO MEN is true. I am one that beareth witness of myself, AND the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.” John 8:14-18

Here Jesus claims that he was fulfilling the law of establishing the truth of his mission with the witness of “two men” for he clearly stated “I am not alone”. Where then was the other man? This is what the Jews wondered for they asked him: “Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.” John 8:19

Later they asked him again: “Who art thou?” and he told them: “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me IS WITH ME: THE FATHER HATH NOT LEFT ME ALONE… I speak that which I have seen with my Father…” John 8:25,28-29 & 38.

Along this same line he also said: “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: For what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise…I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There IS ANOTHER THAT BEARETH WITNESS OF ME.” John 5:19,30-32.

This dual occupancy is called an “overshadowing” by some teachers of the race. The Spirit of Christ overshadowed the body of Jesus, and Jesus was in such harmony with the Christ that he always did what was communicated to him because he realized the Christ was a higher intelligence. A rather inaccurate example, but the best available would be that of a scientist putting an implant within the brain of a friend that he wants to fill a mission for him. This implant allows the scientist to reproduce on a television screen all that his friend sees through his eyes. He is also capable of reading all of his thoughts as well as sending his own to his friend. He sends his friend on a dangerous, but important mission to a ruthless and savage people, but promises him that he will be with him and provide safety with his greater knowledge and will tell him what to do. Thus whenever the friend encounters a situation he cannot handle the scientist tells him the words to say and they are not the man’s words, but the scientist’s. The scientist decides to impress the barbarians with a few miracles so he tells his friend to do some impressive things like walking on water for example. The friend does not fear for he knows the scientist will help him with his super scientific knowledge and reverse gravity for him. Then he will tells others that the works he does are not his, but the one who sent him but they do not understand.

It is a true principle that the tactics used by evil entities are a mere distorted reflection of divine action. This is true as far as demonic possession goes. It is but a copy of divine possession, except the difference is that evil takes away free agency and God always works with complete freedom of action.

What happened in the dual possession of the body of Jesus will also happen with a number of others before the Christ walks among us again in the flesh, except this time he will come in greater glory, for this time he may eventually come in a body which is entirely his own, but before this can occur there will be a number of temporary overshadowings. Jesus said: “If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I WILL COME INTO HIM, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me on my throne, EVEN AS I ALSO OVERCAME, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” Rev. 3:20-21.

If the reward of our overcoming is having one such as the Christ enter into us and Jesus overcame in the same way, then Jesus would have had to have a second entity of higher spiritual standing come into him as part of the eternal process.

He also said: “And my Father and I are one. I am in the Father and the Father in Me; and inasmuch as ye have received me, ye are in me and I IN YOU. Wherefore, I am in your midst, and am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth on this rock shall never fall. And the day cometh that you SHALL HEAR MY VOICE, and know that I am. Watch therefore, that ye may be ready. Even so. Amen.” D&C 50:43-46.

Here we have a prophesy that we shall someday experience an overshadowing as Jesus did if we are worthy, ready and watching. Let us therefore “watch” for that day and hour when our Lord cometh –unseen like a thief in the night.
