Emotional Smoke

Emotional Smoke

Let us look at the next verse:

“And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.” Rev 9:2

“And he opened the bottomless pit.” What does this mean?

The only one who can open the bottomless pit of the emotions is he who has mastered them, or has the key. Once the disciple obtains power over the emotional self and the emotional world, he can then examine it from the top down rather than as one immersed within the bottomless world of emotion.

When immersed in the emotional world the seeker is as one in darkness with no top or bottom. He cannot see to solve the many problems brought on by the upside-down emotional directions he perceives.

Things are much different when the emotions are mastered. The angel fell to the earth where he could stand on solid ground to examine the emotional world from grounded common sense (the earth) as well as through the use of the intuition (from heaven).

But opening the emotional world which has been suppressed or misdirected for lifetimes is a little like opening Pandora’s Box, not only for himself, but for all trapped in the bottomless pit of emotional focus. He must remember this injunction from the writings of Alice A. Bailey:

“Let the magician (disciple) guard himself from drowning at the point where land and water meet. The midway spot which is neither dry nor wet must provide the standing place whereon his feet are set.”

The disciple standing upon the earth, but linked to the soul, sees the problems created by suppressed emotion and pronounces the right words to stimulate and release them. When he does this “there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace…”

When the pent up and previously uncontrolled emotions are released and examined in the light of day a great emotional fire ensues and the smoke of that fire blurs the vision of all except the angel with the key.

The disciple works through his own emotions that were previously unseen and unrecognized as well as many others that he contacts. He finds that simple statements of truth create powerful emotional reactions among those polarized in the emotional world around him. It seems as if he creates an emotional fire in the hearts of friends, family and contacts and the smoke of that burning blurs the vision of all so nothing he says is understood correctly.

“and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.”

The sun (truth) and the air (reason/mind) were darkened because of the smoke of powerful emotional reactions.

Verse three reads: “And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”

What are the locusts and how do they have power as scorpions?

There are four symbols to keep in mind as we continue. They are:

[1] Heaven, symbolizing spirit, revelation, intuition etc.

[2] Air, symbolizing mind and thought.

[3] Earth and vegetation symbolizing seekers who appear to be grounded with worldly wisdom.

[4] Water. The seas and the deep waters of bottomless pit symbolize emotion as well as those grounded in emotion.

The smoke came out of the emotional world (bottomless pit) and the locusts came out of the smoke, or indirectly from the pit itself.

The locusts symbolize the destruction and disturbance caused by the release of suppressed or fomenting emotion and guilt. These released negative emotions have power like a mindless scorpion. They hurt but do not kill.

Verse four reads: “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

Just as a locust normally goes after anything green to consume even so will a negative emotion attack any aspiring life (green thing) that gets in its way.

In this case, however, the disciple, under the direction of the fifth angel (heart center, spiritual love), has power to direct destructive emotion to a desired end. In this case, he directs the emotion to not mindlessly attack any life that aspires to know God with the mind and common sense, but only those who do not seek to know him, or do not have thoughts of the spiritual path in their minds (foreheads).

Keep in mind that the forehead, or mind and common sense, are emphasized. Those who are vulnerable are not only the godless but the religious ones who do not know God with mind but only seek him through emotional feeling with reason not being a factor.

Negative emotion loses its power when the mind knows God but increases in power when God is only sought through non thinking emotion.

Verse 5: “And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.”

Negative emotions which are released when truth is presented include fear, jealousy, hurt feelings, hate, anger, worry and most potent of all guilt. These do not kill a person, but torment those who do not seek God for a long time (five months) and guilt especially is like “the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.”

Verse 6: “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”

To him who does not seek God with the mind (seal in the forehead) will come such devastation through negative emotion and guilt that he will desire to die rather than live, but will fear taking his own life so “death will flee from them.”

Walls and  Borders, Part 3

This entry is part 3 of 9 in the series Walls Borders

Walls and  Borders, Part 3

The Ancient Wisdom and Walls

Some students of Ancient Wisdom may dismiss quotes from the Bible, as made in the last section, as old school but consider this. DK, through Alice A. Bailey often quoted the Bible. Also, the quotes used were either from Christ or the Book of Revelation. DK tells us that Christ is the head of the Hierarchy “the Master of the Masters and the Teacher of angels and of men.” Thus quoting him is quoting the highest possible authority that we have on the planet.

Secondly, we quoted from the Book of Revelations, which is stated as being from Christ through an angel to John. And who was that angel? DK tells us “the Book of Revelations which was dictated 1900 years ago by the disciple who is now known as the Master Hilarion, reference is made to the “city which stands four-square.”

Telepathy, Page 163

Speaking of Hilarion he says: “On the fifth Ray of Concrete Knowledge or Science, we find the Master Hilarion, who, in an earlier incarnation was Paul of Tarsus.”

Initiation Human and Solar, Pg 59

That explains this scripture:

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Rev 19:10

So we have Hilarion (Paul) appearing to John giving him the Apocalypse telling him that he is one of his brethren. Paul, a fellow worker with John, had just been martyred a couple years earlier, and now he manifests under the direction of Christ to give John his great revelation.

Concerning this DK says: “In the New Testament, John, the beloved disciple, was privileged to gain a cosmic picture and a true prophetic vision which he embodied in the Apocalypse, but he is the only one who so achieved and he achieved because he loved so deeply, so wisely and so inclusively.”

Glamour: a World Problem, Page 137

We therefore, have the authority of Christ and the Master Hilarion behind the book making it worthy of our attention.

It is true that there is a lot of symbolism in the book but the symbols have true meaning that will register with the soul.

Thus, the wall around the city of New Jerusalem represents a barrier of separation whether it be a symbol or a physical manifestation.

Most esoteric students realize that all barriers, even those imposed by Divine Power are of a temporary nature as are all forms. In the end, all lives will tread the path of return and forge through or transcend the barriers and return to their true home with God. They will be as the Prodigal Son who awoke and returned to the house of his father.

In the meantime, many forms are necessary for us to use, including walls. Every house has walls to protect us from the elements. In addition, most have fences for various reasons of separation. Some communities have walls around the whole area to provide the occupants with extra security.

During the early history of the United States many new outposts began as a forts surrounded by a wall of protection. Eventually, the need for such walls reached an end and is no longer required.

Thus a nation may legitimately build a wall to fill a need at one time, but when the need is no longer there then the walls can come down.

Many students dream of the ideal becoming a reality and want to speed it along. And what is that ideal as far as walls and barriers go?

The ideal is a world that needs no separation, no walls and no borders. The division in philosophy comes not in the ideal (on which most agree), but on how to get there and at what speed.

There are always some who want to take giant leaps without careful planning which often leads to disaster and others who just want to keep things as they are or move very slowly.

Concerning the idealists who want it all yesterday DK says this:

“The visionary dreamer or the well-intentioned but impractical person whose ideas and world plans and suggestions as to the new world order litter the desks of world leaders and of those groups and organisations who are attempting practically to blueprint the future. Their dreams and ideas deal with projects for which the world of today is not ready and will not be ready for several thousand years. It is an easy thing for them to present impossible Utopias which have not the faintest relation to things which are needed today and which could be made possible. The name of these people is legion, and at this time they constitute a definite hindrance. A vision of the impossible is not the type of vision which will keep the people from perishing. Because of an inability to compromise and to face up to things as they are, these people and those whom they influence are landed in despair and disillusionment.”

Externalization of the Hierarchy, Pages 459-460

In light of this we should ask ourselves what would be the ideal as far as the southern border of the United States goes?

I think most would agree that our northern border with Canada is pretty close to the ideal. We have a fairly equivalent exchange, from both countries of individuals crossing the border to live or visit. Neither country is concerned about their resources being overtaxed by too much or illegal border crossing.

The reason for this balance is obvious, and it has nothing to do with race as is disingenuously presented as the reason by many. The reason is that both countries have a similar standard and quality of living.

On the other hand, the standard of living for numerous countries south of the border is much lower than the United States. Thus a move from Mexico or Guatemala to the U.S. seems like going from poverty to abundance, whereas a Canadian moving here doesn’t see much difference.

Our southern friends have many times the motive over Canadians to get to the United States by any means possible. This presents a major problem of assimilation as well as the enforcement of current law.

The idealists who want the one borderless world to happen right away want no walls and open borders now. This is a nice ideal, but are they in that group that “constitute a definite hindrance” as DK says?

I would say yes. Instead of blindly plunging forward the disciple must work with “things which are needed today and which could be made possible” and learn to “to compromise and to face up to things as they are,” as stated by DK.

The Song of the 144,000

The Song of the 144,000

We thank you Father
That you have revealed to us your protective universal light;
That within this light is complete protection from all destructive forces;
That the Holy Spirit of Your Presence permeates us in this light,
And wherever we will the light to descend.

We thank you Father
That you fill us with your protective fires of love;
That within this love is complete protection from all destructive thoughts and feelings;
That the consciousness of Christ is lifted up in us in this love,
And wherever we will the love to be enflamed.

We thank you Father
That You are in us and we are in You;
That through us Your Will is sent forth on wings of power;
That Your Purpose is accomplished on earth as it is in heaven;
That through us Your Light and Love and Power
Is manifest to all the Sons and Daughters of Mankind.

Synopsis:   “The Song of the 144,000” was specifically spoken of in The Book Of Revelations by John nearly two thousand years ago as being a necessary characteristic of being or becoming one of “The 144,000.”

You would think that when considering the importance that The Book Of Revelations and the doctrine of the worldwide Christian Community places on being considered as, or becoming one of “The 144,000,” that there would literally be thousands of versions of this “new song” — and millions of Christians singing it in an attempt to fulfill this requirement.

After all, how can one expect to be counted among “The 144,000” and yet not know about nor sing this “new song”?

Curiously enough, and to the best of anyone’s knowledge, this is the only known version of “The Song Of The 144,000” ever written.

So, exactly what is this “new song” that is to be sung by the 144,000, and why does it need to be sung?

Find out for yourself, and consider joining the hundreds if not thousands of others who use and benefit from “singing” this prayer of thanks and protection.

Kalispell Gathering 2006, Part 20

This entry is part 5 of 24 in the series Kalispell Gathering 2006

His Reward is with Him

So His reward is with Him. His reward is the wisdom, and the Love and the knowledge that He is going to spread to humanity. He is not going to come down here and appear before the United Nations and say, “Okay, everybody is going to do what I say now and we are going to rid the world of these nuclear weapons and we are going to stop all the suicide bombers and make the Israel a little more pleasant. We are going to make the European Union a little more generous, the United States a little more sharing; we are going make everybody better. He is not going to do this.

The reward is His teachings. How many here would like to just sit at His feet and be taught? Can you imagine what that would be like? Suppose He just walked through this door and lets suppose that we did not know it was the Christ, and we just thought it was somebody on our list. He came in; sits down what would He do? One thing He would probably not say anything and just sit; and listen. He would be a considerate person and then maybe I would say what do you think about this? And He might say, “Well do you really want to know it might take me a few minutes?” We say, “Yes lets give a try.” So He comes up and speaks. Those who are sensitive to the soul would feel a burning in their hearts and those who are not sensitive would think, well he is an okay speaker and teacher. And some would say, I do not agree with that at all.

Audience: Like the last time He would fly in the face of many established churches and religions and such. Before His teachings were wonderful and kind and they have now created these places for this and I wonder if His new teachings would affect the populace in another way.

JJ: It is hard to say and hopefully the world is a little bit more prepared than last time. The last time that He came, He had John the Baptist prepare the way and part of my mission is to prepare a group to receive Him when He comes. There are not too many who are ready to receive so what one has to do is learn to recognize the vibration of the soul that produces the love energy that swells up in your heart to the extent that it is impossible to deny that energy is there. And it is amazing how difficult it is to find people like that.

So, you can appreciate why Jesus called John The Baptist the greatest prophet that ever lived. I used to wonder about this a lot, I would think, what did John the Baptist do that was great? It has a couple versus that he preached about the messiah and then he got killed and that was it. Then when I began to teach myself, I began to see how difficult a job John the Baptist had, to even get a little group ready for the Messiah. He just got a small group ready for Him and then turned them over to Jesus. This is why He was the greatest prophet that ever lived because he overcame ego to the point that he did not need this for himself and he turned them over to his cousin, Jesus who had the divine possession.

Then Jesus took them higher and shortly after that John was put in prison and in prison he knew he was going to be sentenced to death sooner or later and he was getting kind of discouraged. He was a witness, he saw the spirit of God come down like a dove and enter into Jesus. But then when he was sitting in prison he began to doubt. He thought, wow, I dedicated my life to God and turned everything over to Jesus, but let’s suppose that He is not the real Messiah. I have done all this work for nothing and I am in prison for nothing. My work only means something if He is the real Messiah.

So he calls in some of His disciples that were visiting him and he says to them, go and ask Jesus if He is the one that was prophesied to come and return and tell me what He says. So the disciples went to Jesus and said, John has sent us with a message from prison and he wants us to ask you, are you are the true Messiah that was prophesied to come? And Jesus said, spend three days with me and then go and tell John what you saw. So they spent three days with Jesus, following Him around and watching Him.

Then they returned back to John and John asked, what did Jesus say when you asked Him that question? The disciples replied, He said to spend three days with Him and tell you what we saw, John asked, what did you see? They said, we saw many mighty miracles, the blind were able to see, the lame were able to walk, and those that were in prison were freed. And John says I can go at peace now because I know He is the true Messiah. So John was able to go to his death at peace knowing this, He had that second witness.

It is interesting that even though he had a very powerful first witness, he saw the spirit of God descend like a dove, he doubted after a period of time and this is like all of us. All of us have spiritual witnesses occur in our life and after a period of time passes we think. Did I really have that happen or was I imagining things? Sometimes we need a second reassurance just like John The Baptist, the greatest prophet that ever lived. John needed that second assurance that what he was doing really meant something in the eyes of God.

So when Christ comes His reward is with Him and  His rewards are His teachings, eternal words that will not pass away that He will teach to us. He will teach us the principles of reincarnation. This is one of the things that DK tells us He will teach. He will teach and restore many of the mysteries that have been lost. He will guide the world toward peace on earth and good will to all men, but this will be done through free will. Before this occurs we will have many anti-Christs come forward and present plans that will have to be implemented by force. Many People will try to establish what they think is God’s will by force.

Like these terrorists that cut off people’s heads and then and shout praise to Allah, and as they are cutting off the guy’s head they think they are bringing the kingdom of God in their own way which is amazing someone can think that way. Others do all kinds of things in the name of God that are terrible, but they think doing terrible things is okay if the end is good. But, if you try to create a good end by terror, the end will be terror rather than something good.

Now there is a time to go to war, like during World War II it was essential that we go to war and defeat Hitler, but that was because we had to and there is a time and place for all things. The man of peace will use the most peaceful way possible to accomplish his end and only use war as a last resort. Concerning Christ, the Book of Revelations says, “In righteousness does he judge and make war.” But he prefers to make war on the mental plane, to go as a divine soldier and conquer with the sword of knowledge rather than the physical sword.

When He comes He will not be known as Jesus or the Christ and it may be a couple hundred years before a significant number may say, Hey, maybe this was the Christ because He did A, B, C, and it has lead to X, Y, Z, and it is possible that people may be wondering who He is or was. Especially if He decides to live indefinitely in a physical body because by the time He is 200 years old people will be saying, Hey, what is up with this guy. It may be his plan to live a normal life; it may be His plan to live a thousand years. We are not given the details of His plan.

The difference between the past age and this is the difference between the Piscean Age and the Aquarian Age. The Piscean age is the most emotional sign in the zodiac. It is a water sign, it is a sign on the mutable cross; which is also related to the emotional nature and so it is a very emotional sign. The sign of Pisces has something else that is interesting about it in astrology, that is, it is the sign where we learn everything that does not work. When we learn what does not work we have to let it go. It is a sign of sacrifice; this is why the sacrifice on the cross is the message of Pisces because we have to learn to sacrifice before we let it go and during the past two thousand years we have had lots of demonstrations of what works and what does not work.

Now we have to sift through the rubble of the past two thousand years and find everything that did not work because everything that did not work in the Piscean age is a remnant of the 11 ages before it and all the remnants of all the past 12 ages are here before us in the past 2 thousand years and we have to let go of that which does not work. We have to salvage what is left and take that which does work and move it into the new age.

The new age is ruled by air, or the mind. It will be an age of reason, an age of thought, an age where the keynote word will be service instead of sacrifice. You serve and you get recompense or reward for your service rendered. In the Piscean age we sacrificed and there was no reward. (Laughter) We had to wait for some spiritual heaven before anybody received any reward. But it is going to be a little different in this age, in this age we serve and the reward is not only with Christ but the reward is with us because we will achieve abundance and the desires of our heart much more quickly in this age than any other age past.

There is another very interesting thing about the coming Aquarian Age which I believe is the center of focus. The time that we shifted from the Piscean age to the Aquarian age was the moment that the first atomic bomb went off and that is the sign of the coming of man that is prophesied in the Matthew 24. Even thought the Aquarian age has already started it takes about 200 years to fully enter into an age. It is fascinating that around 0 B.C. when Christ was supposed to have been born was about 200 years into the Piscean age. People think that the birth of Christ signaled the beginning of the Piscean age but it was already close to 200 years into the Piscean age. The ages last about 2200 years and I believe it is 2160 or something close to that. The astrological ages are not exactly 2000 years but they are somewhat over that.

Every group of the 12 signs of the zodiac that we pass through are; part of a greater sign. What is unique about the sign of Aquarius, the age that we are entering into, is that as we are entering into the new age of Aquarius this is part of a greater age, of Aquarius that spans about 25,000 years. So, we have an Aquarian age within a greater Aquarian age making it the strongest Aquarian cycle since the days of Atlantis. This makes the Aquarian age that we are entering into the most potent Aquarian age we have ever entered into. Because we are more advanced than the last time this happened which would have been about 300,000 years ago. So it has been about 300,000 years since we have had this unique astrological combination. This makes the Aquarian Age we are entering a very potent one indeed and gives us the possibility to revitalize the earth on the Aquarian principles which is the mind, service, organization, just law and order of ceremonial magic around the seventh ray as it is called, which is strong in the Aquarian age.

The seventh ray will be very powerful and there will be a lot of interesting ceremony. Unlike ceremony in the churches, it will be ceremonies that actually bring specific results. Because different types of ordinances and ceremonies, if done correctly, speak to the angelic lives in their language. When, they see it spoken in their; language they can respond and assist humanity. The Masons have a lot of ceremony in their organization that was passed down from a long time ago. Now, the Masons have had a bad name but every organization that begins as inspired organization goes through periods where there are conspiracy theories in it, bad people in it, where there are evil leaders take over and things like this whether they are the Masons or anyone else and they have some bad spots in their history and some good spots in their history.

But the essential ceremonies that the Masons have are part of one of the things that will be restored. But, what will happen is, similar types of ceremonies that have similar truths will be restored on a higher level with the Masons and other organizations. It will not be so much associated with one religion but will be with all the religions of the earth to bring people together.

We will see ceremonies develop in the new age; which will be very potent. We will go through these ceremonies and they will accomplish certain effects because they will speak to the various energy centers in our body and this will produce a different responses that people will be able to feel and sense. They will be able to produce different types of abilities and talents through some of the ceremonial magic that will be restored to the earth. Then after this restoration begins the veil between heaven and earth will so thin that many people will be able to communicate with the angelic kingdom and the devas again as they did in ancient times.

Audience: Wouldn’t that also change our relationship with nature?

JJ: Right, as a matter of fact there are many tiny lives associated with nature that we cannot even see. The veil will become thinner and we will become aware, say, even in your own garden with the little angelic lives that bounce around your plants and help to keep them healthier. People laugh at this type of thing but there are all kinds of little fairy type lives. There are many different types of tiny lives bouncing around in the ethers that we cannot see that we will eventually learn how to see and communicate with. There are also many little lives that also collect the prana from the sun and bring it to Humanity, the animal kingdom, the vegetable kingdom to revitalize us and by being able to commune more closely with nature our food will have much more prana in them. One of the reasons we are drawn to eat animals is that we do not get the sustenance we need from the vegetable kingdom because it is not vitalized enough.

The animal kingdom is much more concentrated in it’s protein and produces vitality that makes us feel like we have been fed. When the vegetable is animated more by the prana energy that comes between the interplay of the earth and the sun, this revitalization will make a vegetarian diet much more satisfying in the future age. Right now it is not very satisfying because it is so lacking in nutrients and vitality that we have to eat about ten salads to feel full. (Laughter) You eat and eat and eat and you never feel full on a vegetarian diet.

Oil and Revelation

This entry is part 2 of 62 in the series 2010

Posted June 23, 2010
Maryellen writes:
In revelations it talks about seal judgments, trumpet judgments and bowls of wrath along with the third of the sea being filled with blood…….(maybe oil) indicating the End Times. Can anyone comment on what these things might mean?
I’m doing a little inside experiment with a good friend who interprets the bible literally.

JJ
As I’ve said the Book of Revelations will never have an exact literal interpretation but the most correct meaning is that is describes the progress of the disciple from the birth of Christ in the heart to becoming a Christ himself. I have written that there will be incidents that will be close correspondents to the book and will make many think the whole thing is coming to pass but then a complete correspondence will be missing.

Below is a section from my book, “The Unveiling” interpreting the scripture you mention.

The Mountain of Fire
“And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.” Rev 8:8-9

First we had destruction on land (including trees and grass) and now we have destruction of the sea, which includes fish (and other creatures with life or soul) and ships.

So what is the difference between the earth and the sea?

The earth represents the slight rising of consciousness acquired by those who seek meaning in life though religion and philosophy. As we said, the trees represent the powerful authorities and the grass the followers, but all are reaching above sea level in search of the kingdom of heaven.

The sea represents the rest of humanity. Just like three quarters of the surface of the earth is covered with the seas even so is most of humanity not that interested in the meaning of life, spirituality, philosophy and religion.

The average person just wants to merge with the masses, not get noticed for his beliefs and live his life. He is a drop of water in the sea of human beings that never stand out or get their 15 minutes of fame.

On another level the earth represents the conscious self of humanity and the sea the subconscious. Those who search for meaning and are exploring consciousness are represented by earth. Those who do not, but retreat away from contemplation to be led by instinct and emotion are the masses who have little purpose and are driven as the waves of the sea.

The creatures who had life (or “soul” Greek) are the leaders and reasonably successful among the non spiritual masses and have no spiritual agenda themselves but just want the good life. These are midlevel leaders in politics, business, finance, education, the arts etc.

The ships represent the rich and famous who sail above the crowd and are enjoying their 15 minutes of fame.

So what was the great mountain burning with fire burning (apparently from heaven) that was cast into the sea?

A mountain signifies high consciousness or a kingdom. In the case of the disciple (or disciples) who tread the path of the Christ this mountain from heaven represents a work of light and love, or the consciousness of Christ manifested among men. It burns with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

The Son of man, who is the Son of God, has seen a vision of the will of God and he seeks to bring this high consciousness and divine ideas (mountain from heaven) to not only the seekers and the religious, but to make it available to all the masses of people, the high and low.

When the divine idea gains weight, as a mountain, he plunges it into the sea of people where the fire continues to burn even amidst the great waters. When such contact is made with the masses (waters) they turn to blood.

One third of those who are touched by the higher consciousness are never the same turn from colorless water to passionate red.

Jesus said that people will either be for or against him. Even so, those effected by the Christ Consciousness among the masses will be black or white and passionately for or against the ideas and ideals promoted by the disciple.

Look at the current beliefs of the masses. They are either passionately for or against abortion, for or against the death penalty, for or against public prayer etc. This black and white attitude extends to all their beliefs.

The instilling of the waters (common people) with passion (red blood) causes a third of the life in the sea to die and the ships on the surface to be destroyed. The leaders, the rich the famous lose their hold on the masses when they come to life and start examining the pros and cons of the various teachings that filter down to them.

If a leader, a teacher, a rich man or a movie star voices an opinion different from the passion of the people it will be as if their ship that sails upon the sea of people is destroyed.

The Star from Heaven
“And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” Rev 8:10-11

Some read this and believe it means an asteroid will hit the earth before the end of times while others have made the connection that “Chernobyl” is a Russian word for the wormwood plant. Many Bible believers think the third angel sounded when the nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear plant.

Fortunately, an asteroid is not likely in the near future and the correspondence between the Chernobyl disaster and Revelation does not match up. For one thing, a third part of the rivers did not become polluted and there is little literal connection between any past drinking of radioactive waters and death.

The scripture makes much more sense when spiritual symbology is used.

With the second angel a great mountain (kingdom of God – higher consciousness) fell upon the seas (masses of people).

This time a great star burning like a lamp falls upon the rivers and fountains (springs) of waters. This sounds like a great falling star that lights up the whole sky.

So, what does a star mean in this context?

.
Earlier we said that stars represent fixed beliefs and the stars falling to the earth represent shattered belief systems that were thought to never change, like a fixed star.

This time instead of stars plural we have one great star falling. To understand this fully we have to add another element of meaning.

A star can also refer to an avatar, a great teacher or leader who will shatter belief systems. This meaning is indicated in the Book of Revelation itself:

The seven stars are the angels (messengers) of the seven churches (belief systems): and the seven candlesticks which thousawest are the seven churches. Rev 1:20

“And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars.” Rev 3:1

Here we see that a star is a messenger representing a spiritual philosophy (church) and also one of the seven spirits before the throne of God. By extension this would also represent the seven chakras as they manifest internally.

A great and fiery star fell from heaven. What does this mean? The meaning has several levels but the same principle manifests throughout.

The disciple recently opened the seventh seal and peered into heaven and beheld a strange silence for half an hour. In the silence he perceived the will of God as never before and became on fire about bringing that which is in heaven to the earth.

If we correspond the star to a spiritual teacher then we have a great messenger (star) ablaze with the light of knowledge concerning the will of God falling upon a third of the rivers and springs.

What do the rivers and springs represent? These give life to the trees (aspiring teachers) and the grass (spiritual followers). The rivers and the streams thus represent the knowledge and love of God, which feeds the people and stimulates their spiritual life.

As the next manifestation of the will of God falls from heaven (source of revelation) to add to the sources of knowledge on the earth a great disturbance happens. When the new knowledge is presented many do not like what they hear. The new doctrine is as bitter as wormwood to them. They are like the people in Jesus’ home town. When he tried to teach them they rushed upon him, grabbed him and tried to throw him over a cliff.

What he said was a bitter pill (wormwood) for them to swallow, for the star (Jesus) that fell into their fountains of knowledge shook their belief system (fixed star).

“…and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

Many refuse to be nourished by the new and living waters and without this nourishment they dry up and die spiritually.
