The Elusive Second Coming

I remember thinking a lot of the future when I was a kid in the Fifties. Back then thinking about the Sixties seemed like science fiction, but the Twenty First Century? Thinking that far in the future seemed like a far away period that only existed in dreams where everyone had their own flying saucer in their backyard.

Many adults who were religious figured that Jesus would be here long before the century ended. Most saw this century (21st) as a time the wicked would all be destroyed and everyone would be running around following orders sent forth from the dictator Jesus.

The funny part was that even though they claimed that the world was going to be turned into a paradise few were looking forward to it. When I attended church I often overheard a statement like: “I hope Jesus doesn’t come for at least twenty years. I’ve got a lot of things I want to do first.”

What does this tell us of a popular concept of Jesus?

That he’s coming here to take away all our fun and freedom and that we’re all going to live like monks from that point on.

Let me tell you this. The coming of the Lord will be 180 degrees different from what is expected, and instead of boring us to death and taking away our opportunities, this will be a period of intense excitement, tension and opportunity. It could be over 100 years after his arrival before the world as a whole realizes that the Master of Masters has been here among us.

Think on this. It was over three hundred years after the birth of Jesus before his coming received enough recognition to even be noted by recognized observers of history.

When I talk of the coming of the entity who is Christ I am not talking about a vague coming of the Christ consciousness which is in us all. Many there are who think that all there is to the Second Coming is the recognition of this Christ consciousness among the masses, or even on an individual basis. While it is true that a certain amount of recognition of the Christ consciousness must become manifest before his appearance we must not overlook the absolute fact that every great avatar was indeed an individual entity and this includes he who held the office of Christ that manifested in Jesus.

When we say that the second coming does not include this individual entity manifesting again, what are we saying?

What we are doing by assuming this philosophy is charting a course for the Master instead of allowing him to outline his own destiny. Who are we to say that he cannot decide to reappear among us? He is the one who decides whether or not to manifest. His individual manifestation has nothing to do with whether or not it fits into our preconceived notion of what the Second Coming is supposed to be.

Why should we believe he will come again?

(1) He promised he would 2000 years ago.

(2) This promise was reaffirmed by several revelations from the Hierarchy. One of note is Djwhal Khul through Alice A. Bailey telling us his arrival is near.

(3) The majority of spiritual thinkers in the world sense and expect a great avatar to arrive. Such expectancy does indeed create a point of tension which attracts the attention of the Great Ones.

A fullness of knowledge concerning his manifestation is not given but there are three possibilities.

(1) A divine possession, or overshadowings as it did in the coming 2000 years ago. This will definitely happen in this age, and may have already happened to some degree. The mystery is whether the Second Coming will go beyond this to possibilities (2) and (3).

(2) He could appear in the flesh as an adult in his current physical body. DK points out that this type of manifestation is difficult because of required papers, VISAs etc necessary to live and travel in the world. A man, with absolutely no birth record, attracting attention is asking for trouble. The barriers between nations are being taken down and this will make this type of appearance more possible. I have heard that you can travel in the European Union with no papers.

(3) He could be born as a babe just like the rest of us. If he was born today, it would be a few years before he would make much of an impact.

Question: Suppose The Christ was indeed here among us and began teaching tomorrow. What limitations do you think he would face and how would he be received? Do you think he will have emphasis on miracles this time?

Suppose he appeared on a talk show. What would he present and what do you suppose the public reaction would be?

Or… supposing that Christ were to come as a regular human in appearance. Now imagine how his approach would be different as either a male or female.

How would his approach as a female be different than if he were to come as a male?

If you were the Christ (speaking of the entity and not generic consciousness) which sex would you choose and why?

The coming of Christ will be different than Christianity as a whole is expecting. On the other hand, it will also be different than many New Agers are expecting.

The orthodox believer thinks that a great Anti Christ will soon surface that will make Hitler look like Richard Simmons. Those who believe in the “correct” concept of Christ will be raptured into heaven whereas those who remain will go through a living hell as the anti Christ plants computer chips in their hands and foreheads and reigns supreme as God on the earth over his subjects.

After seven years or so of this Jesus appears in the sky in a big blaze of fire and light and zaps the anti Christ and all who have not turned to Jesus. There is a difference of opinion as to what happens after this but many believers think that the righteous dead will rise and live with Jesus on the earth for as thousand years. During this time Jesus will boss everyone around with a will and power so supreme that none would dare challenge him thus forcing peace upon the earth.

Reality Check:

The religious ones are as deceived about the coming of Christ in this age as they were in the last one.

One of the reasons that the first coming of Christ did not register in public consciousness until about 300 years after his birth is that it was also thought back then that the Messiah was going to come in a blaze of glory and destroy his enemies, while exalting mediocre believers to thrones of glory.

Their attention was toward the skies, but the Lord was born in a cave/manger at the stroke of midnight. His humble coming was overlooked by all but a small handful who knew he would come among them as a mortal human.

As his coming was last time, so shall it be again. He will either come directly in a body of his own or by divine possession. Either way he will walk among us as a “regular guy” just as he did last time.

The scriptures will be fulfilled, but when all is said and done it will be seen that few there were who read them correctly through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Many New Agers are also deceived in that they see the coming of Christ as a nebulous rise in consciousness among the people of earth. Many there are who do not believe that we need a great individual intelligence to manifest among us, but that the average seeker is doing just fine on his own and needs no master to inspire him. Everything is within and we need no outer Christ for all is inside.

Reality Check

The truth is that just as we need male as well as female, positive as well as negative, past as well a future to create a world, let alone a better world, even so do we need the outer as well, as the inner teachers.

Those who rely only on the inner at the exclusion of the outer or the outer at the exclusion of the inner will have no light for all light is created by duality. To enter the light we must look to both inner and outer teachers and give them both true recognition and attention when justified.

While it is true that we have an inner Christ there is also a Master who has the outer office of Christ and has manifested the qualities of the Christ within to perfection, which perfection is far in the future for average seekers. As seekers we need the example and teachings of those who have progressed further along the path than ourselves.

How long would it take for you to learn Algebra without a teacher or a textbook written by a teacher? It would take you a thousand times as long to figure it out and learn it all by yourself than with the help of one who knows.

Even so, it is silly to claim we need no one to help us to greater heights on a spiritual level. Find me one who has moved ahead one step by looking within only and I’ll show you a dozen who have moved many steps with the help of others who not only look within but have given a helping hand without.

He who takes upon himself the name of Jesus Christ will seek to lift his brother up to where he is.

Would the Christ approach his mission differently in either a male or female body?

Definitely yes.

While it is true that all of us clear up to the Christ have both male and female energies within us, all of us have a polarization in one or the other.

If you are in a male body you’ll generally have between 50-65% of your influencing energies be radiant, active, visible. If you are in a female body you’ll have from 50-65% of your influencing energies be magnetic, receptive and invisible. If you are a highly charged male or female you can still balance the energies within and use them both to your advantage.

Even so, Christ will tune into both energies within and use them both to his advantage. Just like us he will be charged more in one energy than the other and he will use the polarization to help complete his mission.

If he comes as a male he will seek to promote his teachings with male energy by seeking to take his message to the people. If he were to come as a female he would seek to create a magnetic center that would draw people to him.

It is true that he will use both energies, but the focus will always be on the one where the natural surplus of energy is.

In his appearance 2000 years ago he did use some magnetism (female energy) and drew people to him, but because he had a surplus of male energy he actively (male energy) traveled from town to town seeking to teach. Then instead of creating a school to draw people (female energy) he sent out (male energy) missionaries to convert.

Question: One of the main missions of Christ was to present the ideal of love before humanity (the highest female aspect).

Give us your definition of Love and what is the difference between spiritual, love and the love of the lower self.

The Coming in Glory, Part 1

I was asked to elaborate on the coming of Christ.

The first point I would like to make is that when the Jews were awaiting the first coming of the Messiah they made the same mistake that the religious world makes today. They were expecting him to show up in great glory, probably in the clouds of heaven, and destroy all their enemies and establish the kingdom of God through the use of great fear and force. This Messiah would be so powerful that all would quake in their boots and none would dream of going against him.

Does not this view of a Messiah sound a lot like John’s description of the Beast:

Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:

Rev and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

This description of the Beast fits very well with the religious world’s current belief of how Jesus will impact the world when he comes in glory.

Here is what the believers expect in Jesus that fits John’s description of the antichrist.

(1) He will have great power and authority

(2) He will be so powerful that none can make war with him

(3) People will worship him

(4) Power will be given him over all nations

(5) He will do great wonders and make fire to come down – a possible description of a fiery appearance in glory

This antichrist messiah was the illusion that the Jews looked for 2000 years ago and now the world awaits again for the appearance of one with great power and authority to destroy the wicked and save the righteous. Of course, the righteous are always those who believe the same way as true believers.

Instead of a booming destructive Messiah what was given to the Jews?

The answer: A kind gentle man who taught: “For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” Luke 9:56

If he came the first time to not destroy, but to save, do you think his mission statement will be that much different this time? I don’t think so.

Let me repeat a prophecy concerning his first coming from a source you accept:

“And I beheld that he went forth ministering unto the PEOPLE IN POWER AND GREAT GLORY.” I Nephi 11:28

Now some early seekers could have read that and envisioned Jesus going forth upon the land in a blazing chariot dazzling everyone with the brightness of his presence.

But instead, how was this prophecy fulfilled?

Jesus went forth as one of the people and the only ones who saw the “great glory” were those who “had eyes to see.”

The Jewish leaders saw no great glory at all, but a great disturbance.

Also consider this. How many do you suppose there were who were expecting the Messiah to come as he did?

I would guess it would have been a very small handful. If John the Baptist had not prepared the minds of his little group perhaps the number would have been close to zero.

That said let’s review the scriptures concerning the clouds of heaven

Here is a popular one:

“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” I Thess 4:15-17

The religious world is waiting for this scripture to come to pass, but many will be astounded to learn that it has already been fulfilled.

Notice the wording – Paul says: “WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN unto the coming of the Lord…” Then WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Paul was not speaking of a coming which would happen thousands of years hence, but of one which would come in his lifetime. Jesus told the church “I come quickly…” Surely 2000 years is not quickly.

These early Saints expected Jesus to come and save them from the great persecutions which were forthcoming and because the time was short, and the message of Christ had to be spread abroad before he appeared, the early leaders thought it best that the saints should not marry, but totally dedicate themselves to spreading the word. The injunction to not marry was a temporary one due to the circumstances of the time.

This teaching of the early leaders was not without foundation for Jesus told his disciples: “Verily I say unto you, There be some (more than one) standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his Kingdom.” Matt 16:28

These early saints believed that the 144,000 would be a group of Christians who would be taken by the Lord.

Actually, there is some historical evidence that such a saving event did happen and it was recorded by none other than the respected historian, Josephus. He recorded a second coming of Christ on May 30, 73 AD:

“Besides these, a few days after the feast, on the one and twentieth day of the month -Artemisius, a certain marvelous and incredible phenomenon appeared. I suppose what I am going to tell would seem a fable, were it not related by those who saw it, and were not the sad events that followed it deserving of such signs. Before sunset chariots were seen in the air, and troops of soldiers in their armour running about among the clouds. Moreover, at the feast which is called Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner temple, as was their custom, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that first they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a multitude saying, Let us remove hence.” The Jewish War, Book 6, page 106, Chapter 5, section 3.

This sounds like an early UFO sighting, but we also have a “multitude” that was removed. Was this Christ appearing with his hierarchy, or Kingdom, as he promised? After all, the saints were told: “Ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, and the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. To the general assembly and the church of the firstborn which are written in heaven…” Heb 12:22-23

Did members of the church on the earth join with the “church of the firstborn” in heaven? Or is it possible that they were merely transported to a different area for safety? Or did they join Christ and his hierarchy for a period of time?

Whatever the case we can see that a fairly literal interpretation was applied to Rev 14:4 in that age.

Recognizing True Messengers

Jesus had some pretty strong words for people who considered themselves the enlightened in his day:

Alas for you, lawyers and Pharisees, hypocrites ! You build up the tombs of the prophets and embellish the monuments of the saints, and you say, “If we had been alive in our fathers’ time, we should never have taken part with them in the murder of the prophets.” So you acknowledge that you are the sons of the men who killed the prophets. Go on then, finish off what your fathers began!

You snakes, you vipers’ brood, how can you escape being condemned to hell? I send you therefore prophets, sages, and teachers; some of them you will kill and crucify, others you will flog in your synagogues and hound from city to city. Matt 23:29-34 New English

Notice that these people who are now known for participating in the crucifixion of Christ and the later persecution of his followers to prison and to death thought that if they had lived in the days of the prophets, such as Moses, Jeremiah or Elijah, they would not have rejected them or sought their lives. Surely, they thought that they would have stepped forward to help. They would have stood with Moses and not worshipped the golden calf. They would not have thrown Jeremiah in a pit, nor would they need Elijah to bring fire from heaven to prove he was a prophet. They saw themselves as the good guys in the present who would have also been the good guys in the past.

Jesus, who must have heard such talk in their conversations, replied starkly that they did not see themselves correctly. If they had lived in the days of the prophets they would have shared in the mob mentality and soon in the present they would prove Jesus correct by showing their true colors.

This incident gives us good food for thought for our own consideration. We need to ask ourselves that had we lived in the days of Jesus would we had been one of the 120 that believed on him after the crucifixion, or even during his life?

He tells us that he will come again. Most Christians think he will come in such a blaze of glory that it will be obvious who he is, but suppose he comes again like he did last time – as a regular mortal.

How many would recognize him then?

Djwhal Khul through Alice A. Bailey gave out many teachings and has many followers in the esoteric world. He tells us that he will teach again around 2025.

Suppose that there are a dozen people claiming to be his new vessel. Do you think that you could pick the real one? And what if none of them represented the true DK?

After all, students will recall that he did not reveal who he was last time. Someone else let his identity slip out against his will.

So it may be possible that none of the claimants will represent the real DK. The real vessel may be an unknown who just posts enlightening material on the internet.

And suppose the real spokesperson says something positive about a controversial Republican or Democrat? Would this cause you to write the whole of the teachings off?

I guarantee this would happen with many.

One of the reasons that enlightened prophets and teachers are rejected by the very ones who are supposed to be expecting them is this. The Spiritual Hierarchy does not like to repeat itself. If a teaching is out there and it is clearly written then it violates the law of economy to just repeat it again. All any regular mortal has to do is reference a page number.

When a true teacher arrives he will present something new and different – something thought provoking that will stimulate thinking and move forward spiritual evolution.

In the days of Jesus the devout were expecting a messiah. Some were expecting him to come in a blaze of glory, similar to the Christian expectation of the Second Coming today. Others saw him as one like Moses who would deliver them from the Romans as Moses delivered he Israelites from Egypt.

As far as teachings go they expected an extension of the Lawgiver, Moses, who would place great emphasis on living the letter of the law.

As it turned out, Jesus was none of these things. He didn’t deliver the people from the Romans. He not only didn’t place emphasis on the law, but seemed to disregard it. Instead of concentrating on refining the law he had a new message centered on love. They had never heard anyone teach such a thing before.

Since Jesus did not correspond to their expectations they rejected him outright and put him to death for blasphemy.

It is interesting to contemplate what he will teach when he comes again. Most are expecting a repeat of what he gave us last time. These are likely to be disappointed and not recognize him. Of course, he will not contradict what he gave out last time, but we must be prepared for the fact that he will teach many new things that will far surpass what we have in the Bible.

And how about DK? Again the new teachings will be in harmony with those given through Alice A. Bailey but he will move on to new material, much of which may be rejected by Bailey students, just because they are new and different.

The last time he taught we went through a great division resulting in World War II. He was one of the few teachers that called it right on Hitler from the beginning. Most teachers either tolerated him or embraced much of what he stood for. Just before the war almost every prediction from the alternative folks was there was nothing to worry about, that there would be no war.

If, when he teaches again, we are still in a state of great political conflict as we are today he may give out some controversial teachings and mantras in an attempt to bring students together as he did last time. Will those who are attached to their ideals reject him just as the idealists did last time?

Unfortunately, it is often the case that several generations must pass before the true avatars are recognized by the many, or even a significant number. But let us hope that we can raise our consciousness up so we can appreciate true messengers when they are here in front of our eyes, instead of merely participating in building beautiful monuments to their name after they are gone.

Is Jesus Coming Again?

According to a Pew Research poll taken in 2006 79% of Christians believe that Jesus is going to come again sometime in the future. Then another Pew poll taken in 2010 shows that 47% of Christians, or 41% of the general population, believe that he will show up by 2050.

A large percentage of these believers see the world as we know it ending when he returns. Others see his return as less disruptive but marking a transition into a new and better age.

There are also differing beliefs about how he will manifest. Many see him literally showing up in the clouds of the sky with millions of angels to wipe out the wicked and forcefully establish his kingdom on the earth or rapture the righteous into heaven.

Still others tell us the Greek for “coming” in Matt 24:3 is PAROUSIA and should be translated as merely “presence.” Therefore, the world will somehow be endowed with his spiritual presence, rather than him showing up in a physical body.

Then others who believe in a Second Coming see Jesus as showing up as one of us, but having extraordinary talents that will help humanity move toward the goal of “peace on earth, goodwill toward men.”

So, what is the truth of the matter here? Will Jesus really show up again, and if so, how?

The answer to the first is a definite yes. He said he would come again and indeed we can look for him to show up in some manner. The scriptures themselves provide some clues on the matter.

Will he show up in a blaze of glory and destroy the wicked by fire? To see if this may be true let us examine how he dealt with those who rejected him 2000 years ago:

“And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

“But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.” Luke 9:52-56

Here we gain a grand insight into the thinking of Jesus. The apostles had the idea that since this particular village rejected them they needed to be taught a lesson and that Jesus should command fire to come down out of heaven and consume them. If this were to happen, they wouldn’t have that problem any more as other towns wouldn’t want to suffer the same fate.

To this idea Jesus gave them an unexpected rebuke saying, “Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.”

And what manner of spirit is it that wants to destroy men’s lives? That is the spirit of evil, not the good that is in Christ.

There may be great destructions and calamities in the future but they will come from either men or Mother Earth, not from Jesus throwing down destruction upon us as his mission is to save, not destroy.

So how about the second option? Will we somehow be endowed with his presence and how could that happen?

A clue is given in the Book of Revelation:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Rev 3:20

According to this there will be those who hear the knock, will open the door and Christ “will come in to him.” If the actual presence of Christ is in your neighbor, John Smith, then the presence of Christ is on the earth, is it not?

This makes sense. After all, Jesus said, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.” Matt 28:20

So one of the ways that his coming materializes is through the dwelling in various disciples which allows his presence to be with us always till the end of the age.

And what happens at the end of the age? Will he actually walk among us again? Perhaps the scriptures give us a clue as to when this shall be.

In giving the signs of His coming Jesus says that first there shall be great tribulation, as never seen before. When Daniel talks about this tribulation he tells us that it applies to the “holy people.” (Dan 8:24) This would most likely mean the Jews.

So what was the greatest tribulation that ever happened to the Jews that, if it was not shortened, then none of them would have been saved? (Matt 24:21-22)

That would have been the systematic extermination of the Jews under Hitler, the greatest antichrist in our history.

After this tribulation Jesus is quoted as saying:

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”Matt 24:29-30

This is a description of “the sign of the Son of man in heaven.” Most think this will be some great sign they will see in the sky telling them that Jesus is coming. They overlook a very important point. The scripture says that this sign will make “all the tribes of the earth mourn.” If this is a sign that Jesus is coming then why would everyone on the earth mourn when they see it? Surely someone would be happy to see a sign that indicates his Lord is on his way.

Well, there was such a sign that did cause all the peoples of the earth to mourn. It even caused the most sincere believers in Christ to mourn. What was it?

The answer is given in the name and description of the sign itself. Remember, it is called, “the sign of the Son of man in heaven.” “Heaven” comes from the Greek word OURANOS. And what other modern word comes from this?

Uranium.

If we substitute “uranium” for heaven we can see a startling new meaning revealed for instead of the sign being in the sky it would read “the sign of the Son of man in uranium.”

And what does it say about this sign given right after the tribulation of the Jews?

“The powers of the heavens shall be shaken.” If we substitute uranium for heaven it then reads:

“The powers of uranium shall be shaken.”

We know the powers of heaven will not be shaken but right after the genocide against the Jews was ended the powers of uranium were shaken and the first atomic bomb exploded.

This great sign did indeed cause all the peoples of the earth to mourn. Even though it helped to end the war all were terrified about its use in the future.

Could you imagine someone two thousand years ago trying to describe an atomic blast. Perhaps he would say that it would be so bright that it would blot out the light of the sun and the moon and would appear with “the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Wait. That is exactly what Jesus did say and it is a perfect description of an atomic blast.

So, does this give us a clue as to when Christ will again appear?

It does, for after talking about this sign he says, “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Matt 24:34

This tells us that of those who were alive in 1945, when the atomic bomb first exploded, will not all pass away by the time Christ comes again. A number from that time will live to be over 100 so according to this logic he should show up before 2050.

But consider this. His presence may have already been among us. Remember his promise that he will come into certain disciples and abide with them. Since 1945 it is quite possible that his presence has rested upon a number of disciples and servants to the human race and worked directly through them.

But will he come as a physical being walking again among us? I believe that is the plan and it is the hope of many millions including myself.

Benjamin Crème

Here are some previous comments I have made on Benjamin Crème. (Posted in response to reader interest)

April 1999 Glenys mentioned Benjamin Crème. I remember the first time I read the “words of Christ” as they were revealed through him. They left me completely flat. No new knowledge, principles or wisdom. Then somewhere around 1988 he came up to Boise to give a lecture. I thought I’d try and be open-minded and listen to him. I was surprised to hear him declare boldly that Christ was going to appear in about two months from the date of the lecture. He was going to be on television and his presence would be so powerful that the whole world would just know who he was and accept him.

Well two months passed and this glorious event did not happen. Later I heard he moved the event forward, but still it has now been over ten years (Now 23 years) and no mass TV appearance of the Christ with every eye recognizing Him.

Benjamin Crème was a student and personal acquaintance of Alice A. Bailey and he has a small amount of true data of the reappearance, but is caught up in a number of illusions and will continue to make false predictions.

It’s possible that someone may surface who claims to be Crème’s version of the Christ, but I assure you that such a one will not be able to speak words as beautiful as the Sermon on the Mount or give even one parable comparable to those of Jesus.

After we pass the year 2000 we are going to see more false Christs and prophets appear. Link

Thanks for your posting, Adrian, of some of the teachings of Benjamin Crème. Actually, a large portion of the teachings you mentioned are not original with Crème, but with Alice A. Bailey of whom Crème was a student.

Many new age gurus have read the works of Alice A. Bailey and presented teachings gained from her books as their own original material. Because her books are quite technical and difficult to read many students of such gurus are impressed that the material is original.

There are a number of teachers who claim to be channeling every master available who only present a rehash of Bailey and other writers.

It may be advantageous to present certain points to look for in a true representative of the Brotherhood and one who is under the illusionary path.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MISLED TEACHER

1. The first thing to look at is the teachings he or she presents, for the Brotherhood does not like to repeat itself. If it does it is only for clarification purposes. A false teacher’s highest teachings will be a repeat of information that has already been revealed.

Crème’s highest teachings are Alice A. Bailey quotations.

2. The false teacher will teach in data and not principles. If there is anything new in his teachings it will be in the form of unprovable data.

One of the few new things in Crème’s teachings was some data about the number of disciples who have passed through the various initiations. Even on this he has over estimated the number.

3. The false teacher will make fantastic predictions that do not come true.

I recounted in my last post such a prediction by Crème.

4. The false teacher presents himself as a humble servant, but subtly works to draw attention to glorify himself and his ego.

When I heard Crème in person make his false prediction I sensed that it originated in glamour. Also, his mannerisms seemed very centered in glamour. To confirm my suspicions I went to meet him after the lecture and got his autograph. I am an expert handwriting analyst and saw immediately on looking at his writing that I was correct. The guy revels in attention directed toward his ego.

5. The false teacher will lie when it furthers his purposes.

I personally think that Crème just makes up a lot of the “teachings” that are supposed to come from Christ and is aware of this fact.

6. The false teacher will usually emphasize teachings of the passing age, which is the age of Pisces at this time.

Crème’s message of sharing and sacrifice sound pleasing, but they are presented in Piscean format and are not workable in the coming age.

7. He will not offer you a way to prove to yourself that his teachings are true, but will want you to accept him through faith in his personality. Those who are sure that he is correct are convinced through outer signs.

Crème has offered no way for us to know the truth of his teachings.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TRUE TEACHER.

1. The bulk of his teachings will not be a repetition of writings already in existence. His or her teachings will either be new or throw new light on teachings already revealed.

Look at the two greatest in history, Jesus and Buddha. They may have quoted some from teachers of the past, but overall their core message was new and brought additional light to the world.

2. The true teacher will stress principles more than unprovable data. Also, they will generally reveal and explain new principles.

3. The true teacher is not infallible, but will be cautious in making fantastic predictions. The predictions he does make will be very reliable and will often be clothed in mystery as are the writings of John the Beloved and Nostradamus.

4. The true teacher may be accused of being in the work for the ego, as even Jesus was, but in reality his prime goal will be service to humanity. He only seeks recognition for his true accomplishments, when it furthers the work, and will never seek the recognition that belongs to others.

5. The true teacher will attempt to so live his life so he will never lie or deceive. If he does not achieve perfection in this he recognizes his mistake and seeks to correct it.

6. The true teacher will emphasize the coming principles of the Aquarian age. He will not abandon the good of Pisces and sacrifice, but his main attention will be on the coming energies of service as we discussed earlier.

7. The true teacher will teach students a path that will lead to verification through the soul and Spirit that the principles he teaches are true. Those who are convinced he is correct are sure because of powerful inner confirmation rather than outer signs, even though outer signs may seem to manifest. Link

Here is a dialog I had with a Crème follower: April 22, 2004 My Friends, I know many old timers do not want to discuss Benjamin Crème again, but we have a new member who I think shows some good potential and I would like to share some thoughts with him. I do not plan on taking much more time on this subject.

Robert: Whether Crème is a so-called prophet (your word), I do not care to indulge in a semantical debate. Although it would be wise to consider everything Crème speaks as a hypothesis, before denying and disbelieving his words. I ask – are you crystallized in your beliefs when it comes to Crème? Has your mind been made when it comes to believing him to be a so-called false prophet? A gentle gust of wind cannot move a heavy, stubborn rock.

JJ: I could turn this around. Are you crystallized because you disbelieve my words and do not even consider that Crème is representing something else besides the Spiritual Hierarchy?

Are you crystallized because you do not accept Sally of Detroit’s channelings from Zor of Zurkin II declaring that the world will enter the 5th dimension next week?

Using the discerning qualities of the mind to weigh the facts and come to logical conclusions is more the mark of one who has not crystallized rather than one who has.

Perhaps we should soon talk about the principle of crystallization and exactly what it is.

The conclusions I have reached on Crème have been through study of his materials and the use of such discernment in connection with the sensing of spiritual vibration.

If I were crystallized I would not have read his writings to discover whether or not they are true.

Robert: I do not disbelieve that you heard Crème speak in 1988 that the Christ will be seen on television, but I cannot believe it either.

JJ: I do not understand why you cannot believe it. Do you really consider that I would have just made it up?

Robert: So, for me, your point is moot. I can only validate my experience and my knowledge and my understanding. If you believe Crème has lied to you, should that cancel out the intuitive response to what I have heard and read? JJ, brother! The story your tell will not be the authority of truth.

JJ: This does not make sense. This would mean it would be worthless to study history, the scriptures, Bailey material, or even Crème’s revelations because they are not linked to your direct experience. The mind can discern much truth by reading and considering the accounts of others. To dismiss the factual account I give because it does not agree with a preconceived notion is strange indeed for a seeker.

When I relate what I saw and heard it should have much more credibility than a statement of some belief in a theory or doctrine.

Robert: As far the so-called prophecies, they were given to Crème by a close associate of Maitreya during the late 80s. I do not want to make any mistakes, so in the coming days I will attempt to obtain the exact writings of those predictions. I’ve read them before and they are quite curious. Maitreya never meant for them to be so-called prophecies, they were more like statements he made from observing the law of cause and effect.

JJ: I do not think so. Crème came to Boise and I attended his lecture. I had already read a book or two that he had written – not in the name of an associate of Maitreya, but Maitreya himself. When Crème spoke to us and talked about the Maitreya messages he made no mention of receiving them from this associate you mention. In fact he demonstrated how he received his revelations by going into a meditative state where he stated that he would be overshadowed – not by some acolyte – but by Maitreya himself. It was around this period of his lecture that he stated that in April of that year (I believe it was 1987 or 88) a few months from the lecture that Maitreya would appear on worldwide television and announce himself. At that moment every person on the earth would experience a oneness with him and realize that Christ had come again.

I was quite amazed at such a black and white prediction, but attempted to analyze it objectively.

I could find many reasons to disbelieve such a prediction and none to believe it.

I rejected the prediction for the following reasons. (1) I had knowledge that Christ would not come until some time after the turn of the millennium. This was too soon for him to appear. (2) I had read most of Crème’s material he had published to that date and received no soul confirmation on them. (3) To cause every person on the earth to accept Maitreya, even the born- againers would involve the use of force on the human will. This is contrary to the methods used by the real Christ. He always works with free will to the maximum possible. (4) Crème’s teachings that were supposed to come from the Christ revealed no new principles. The Christ of the Bible taught around a principle in almost every sentence we have of his dialog. DK revealed much new light and amplification of principles. I can find little or no new light in Crèmes writings.

Can you find anything that is not just unverifiable data? So far no Crème follower has been able to give us even one piece of new light.

(5) I sensed a strong sense of glamour around him. To check my observation I wet up to him after the meeting and asked for a sample of his handwriting. He gave it to me rather reluctantly. My long experience in handwriting revealed that Crème’s glamours were exactly as I had ascertained by watching him.

Concerning your comments on Crème’s statement that the real Saddam is dead and the one caught is a double I will add this. I found Glenys’ finding that his wife thinks the captured Saddam is a double to be interesting and it is remotely possible that this is true.

Overall, it does not make sense because of the following reasons:

(1) If the military were to deceive us why would they want to present a fraud to the world and even allow his wife to visit?

(2) If he was killed earlier it would have been advantageous for the military to merely announce he was killed so they wouldn’t have to deal with a live person, relatives, a trial etc.

(3) DNA analysis revealed it was Saddam. Now it is remotely possible there was fraud or a mistake here, especially if the double were a relative and had similar DNA.

(4) Dozens of people close to Saddam met with him after the capture and none questioned that it was really him.

(5) None of his daughters have questioned that the prisoner is not Saddam Hussein. One of them did think he was drugged to mellow him out. This is believable.

(6) It would be incredibly stupid to purposefully proclaim a double was the real Saddam. Any intelligent person would have to realize that such a fraud would come unraveled and would destroy the Bush administration.

I haven’t received any revelation on this matter but I would give a 95% chance that we have the real Saddam. On the off chance the captured one is a double I would guess it started with an honest mistake that turned into a cover-up by the military and Bush doesn’t even know the truth of the matter. Then too it is possible that the double is a relative with a close DNA match and even the military is deceived.

(7) The anti Bush media here and in Europe has not picked up on the double story. If there was any hard evidence they would be on it.

Robert: You are correct that Crème had indicated that Dennis Kucinich had a good chance of capturing the presidency – but you are forgetting or neglecting a specific part of what Crème has said, which is – if Kucinich was nominated as the democratic candidate. Quote in context my friend : )

JJ: I didn’t quote and my statement is accurate. Here’s an exact quote from the last Crème follower on the list:

“Crème has said that the Hierarchy supports Kucinich, that Kucinich is the only presidential candidate who is receptive to the mental impressions from the Hierarchy. Crème has also said if Kucinich gets on the bill as the Democratic presidential candidate, he will become President.”

The fact that Crème talked about the possibility that Kucinich could actually get the nomination, let alone “become president” shows a great error in judgment. Thank God the real Hierarchy are smarter than this. Thank God I am smarter than this. From the first time I heard his Kucinich’s name and felt the vibration around it, even before I saw and heard him I sensed that he had no chance.

I take it back there is a one in a million chance. Here is a possible scenario.

John Kerry’s botox (which he says does not exist) bursts, causing a temporary obstruction of vision. He slips on a glossy anti Bush flyer, falls on his head and sinks into a comma.

John Edwards and Howard Dean rush to an emergency meeting where Democrats are trying to decide who to back. Their cars run head on into each other and both die.

Joe Lieberman eats a piece of bad ham and becomes comatose.

Al Sharpton storms into the meeting and demands support for the nomination. Sheila Jackson Leigh feels that Sharpton has steamrolled over her and grabs him by the neck and strangles him. She is then hauled off to jail.

Clark Gets amnesia and can’t remember his name.

Hillary actually keeps her word and decides to serve out her senate term.

Kucinich alone enters the meeting and as he approaches the committee he steps on a bare power cord and electricity shoots through his body lighting him up. The committee sees this as a sign from God and the Democrats back him to the Convention.

After the convention two days before the election it is revealed that Bush killed JFK. The public is so outraged that they vote for Kucinich in protest and he wins.

Ahh, well, the Kucinich true believers can always dream.

Robert: As a side note, we have been given the information that the Hierarchy is supporting and throwing the weight of their assistance behind the democratic candidate – even though it’s not Dennis Kucinich.

JJ: Crème’s Hierarchy, perhaps. The real one merely teaches correct principles and let’s us decide for ourselves. There are disciples in both parties and the Hierarchy isn’t telling half the disciples to switch parties.

Robert: I’ve read in the archives why you believe Crème is a Communist and his support of enforced sharing. Is the source of this information to be trusted?

JJ: It’s supposed to be Crème’s own words as revealed by Sean David Morton. He has written quite a bit and I’ve seen no evidence of him being an outright fabricator.

Here is part of an interview with Sean David Morton written in 1994:

The ultimate purpose, according to Crème, and I quote, is to “Give over all of your power and energy to the Masters so that they can use it as they please, to facilitate global change.” Someone has something backwards here! Spiritual Masters are suppose to reflect the Light of God and the Creation through themselves down TO US, not the other way round. And what do these “Masters” need with all our energy? To quote the now deceased Capt. James T. Kirk, “Excuse me! What does God need with a Starship?” As Crème and I spoke, he began to lay out his global philosophy. His anger was clearly directed primarily at America. He felt that all of Western Civilization should be destroyed and dismantled so that the wealth, mostly of America, could then be “re-distributed” to feed the starving huddled masses of the world. “By what means?” I asked. “They must come to a place of consciousness for it to take place.” he answered. “And if they refuse to do it willingly?” I asked slowly. “Then it should be done by force, if necessary!” “That,” I replied cautiously, truly wanting to hear what he had to say, “sounds like Communism.” “And what’s wrong with Communism?” he retorted. “Are you a Communist?” I asked. “Young man, I have been a card carrying Communist for 32 years!” The plot thickens. “Have you ever been to Moscow, or studied there? “Many times!” he said with pride.

I asked the last Crème disciple who did not accept this to merely ask Crème if the quote are accurate and if he is a Communist, but he refused. You ought to write him a letter or call him and ask him if he is or has been as card-carrying communist and if the above is quoted accurately and reflects his views.

Robert: I’ve read the interview and I do not put my faith into the honesty of the interviewer. The tone of fear colours the entire article. Whether Crème is a ‘card-carrying member of the Communist Party’ is a relative, personal attribute. The actual life that Benjamin Crème lives should be evaluated. However, that was not me confirming that he is a member of the Communist Party. I have no idea – and whether he is or not – is a superficial statistic. The man is 82 years old and still steadily doing his work.

JJ: What concerns me more than being a communist was this statement: “And if they refuse to do it willingly?” I asked slowly. “Then it should be done by force, if necessary!”

It appears that Crème believes in dismantling America through old style Soviet style tyrannical force.

That’s not the Hierarchy I’m associated with.

Does such philosophy not concern you? You seem to be a reasonable young man. Could this be your blind spot?

Robert: The pity is that one of us is more right and the other less right. Time will tell – time will solidify the fact.

JJ: Time has already spoken on many of Crèmes predictions and teachings. I’d say that at least 90% of the times time has spoken, it has spoken against him.

Robert: The fact that what Crème speaks is true and that he is in contact with a Master of Wisdom and has been willingly working for the reappearance under direct inspiration from the Hierarchy – or the fact that Benjamin Crème is not and has not.

JJ: It would be sad indeed if the Hierarchy cannot see the future as well as I can – or Glenys can, or Larry can…

Robert: All in all, you are certainly entitled to your beliefs – the glory of free will! The modest suggestion that I make is that you become aware of all the good that Benjamin Crème has done and continues to do, if you are not already aware.

JJ: I have followed Crème for almost 20 years. I read his first book and have checked out his new teachings from time to time. So far I have not been able to find one enlightened statement from the man. Can you give us even one good paragraph that turns on a light?

Let me put it this way. Open any Alice A. Bailey book dictated by DK and read a paragraph at random. Then try and find one paragraph by Crème or his Master which is equal to it.

Robert: The work is One.

JJ: It is indeed, but there is a dark Hierarchy opposed to the one work and workers many levels down are trapped by their illusions. I feel impressed to make an effort to awaken you to find the real power of the soul and let it guide you through the Crème maze to the feet of the real Master of Light and Love. There is more awaiting you than you have imagined.

I sense a person with great potential in you, more than any Crème follower (co-worker or whatever) I have met and hope we can eventually see as one. Link

The Literal Gathering of Israel, Chapter Ten

Chapter Ten

Salvation in Zion

Even if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which is supposed to be Zion does fail to live the commandments there will be those who try their best to live them and these will be looked upon by the Lord as the pure in heart or the Zion of God and among the righteous there is a promise from the Lord of escape or deliverance for He has said: “I will place salvation in Zion FOR ISRAEL” (Meaning many Israelites who did not gather because they were deceived).” Isa 46:13. In other words the pure in heart will save the country.

The escape will be miraculous for we are told that the meek “shall be HID in the day of the Lord’s anger.” Zeph 2:3 “The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” Psalms 9:12 “And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. And the hail in descending COMES NOT ON YOU, but the wildwood. And in the low foothills shall the city lie low.” Isa 32:18-19 (Verse 19 is quoted from the CONCORDANT version which follows the Hebrew much more closely than the King James).

Again the Lord commands us to set up a refuge: “And with one heart and one mind, gather up your riches that ye may purchase an inheritance which shall hereafter be appointed unto you. It shall be called the New Jerusalem, a land of peace, A CITY OF REFUGE, A PLACE OF SAFETY for the Saints of the Most High God. And the glory of God shall be there, and the terror of the Lord shall also be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion. And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety. And there shall be gathered unto it OUT OF EVERY NATION under heaven; and it shall be the ONLY PEOPLE that shall not be at war one with another. And it shall be said among the wicked: Let us not go up to battle against Zion, for the inhabitants of Zion are terrible; wherefore we cannot stand. And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from among ALL nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of everlasting joy.” D&C 45: 64-71

In speaking of this period the Prophet Isaiah said: “For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be rebuilt. (This seems to be speaking of the destruction of the cities on this continent.) Therefore, shall the strong people glorify thee, (The New Jerusalem) the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.” Isa 25:2-3

The ancient Septuagint version indicates that there may have been some word changes here by an ancient scribe for in this we find that the word is “humble” and not “strong.” Both words make a certain amount of sense, but it seems more logical that it would be humble. What does “the city of terrible nations” mean? It could be more literally translated “A city of terrifying nations.” In other words so many other nations that have in the past caused terror will be terrified of Zion and their number will be so great that they will make a city Of nations which mere signifies a large group of nations who would be glorifying God.

Isaiah continues in speaking of the New Jerusalem: “For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a REFUGE FROM THE STORM, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” Isa 25:4

At this point the central stake will be redeemed, but even before this redemption much of the glory of Zion can be reached by the pure in heart gathering and striving to live in true brotherhood. The Lord indicates that this refuge will be more than one city: “And the Lord will create upon EVERY DWELLING PLACE of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.” Isaiah 4:5-6

There is an interesting mistranslation here. “Upon all the glory shall be a defense” should be “Above all the glory is a covering.” In other words, there will be a cloud over Zion in the daytime that will turn bright in the night and covering this “flaming fire” or glory, shall be a canopy of some kind which will protect the inhabitants from the elements. This covering is an interesting point to consider. Apparently, the elements will become so fierce that the cities of Zion will have to be covered with some sort of shelter to physically protect the inhabitants from heat, storms, and rain. Isaiah indicates the reason we may need shelter from heat for he says: “Moreover, the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be SEVENFOLD, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.” Isa 30:26 In other words, the light from the sun in one day here will be equal to the heat and light of SEVEN days.

Is it any wonder that “the elements will melt with fervent heat” (II Peter 3:10) in the day of the Lord. John also talks about the day of great heat: “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun, and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were SCORCHED WITH GREAT HEAT, and blasphemed the name of God, which had power over these plagues; and they repented not to give him glory.” Rev 16:8-9

If the sun flares up seven times as bright it is then only logical that the moon would also increase in brightness since it is merely a reflector of the sun. All of this merely serves to indicate the future need the saints will have for protection, not only from wicked mobs, but from the elements. Whether the protection will come from inspired inventions or from God himself we do not know, but whatever the case great faith must be exerted to prepare a people for the day. We cannot be like those who failed to build Zion in 1834 who said: “Where is their God? Behold, he will deliver them in time of trouble, otherwise we will not go up unto Zion, and we will keep our moneys.” D&C 105:8 Most of those who call themselves Latter-Day Saints have this same attitude and say “We do not need to gather today. God will deliver in a time of trouble and there is no need, therefore we will keep our place in the world.” But remember O ye blind that follow the blind. God did not deliver the saints in Missouri and he will not deliver you unless you remember this important advice: “Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself.” D&C 105:5 Enoch built Zion by gathering the Saints and so must we.

Has there ever been a time in history when there was a manifestation such as described by Isaiah when he says that Zion will be covered with a cloud by day and a flaming fire by night? The most well known experience was in the time of Moses. We are told that “The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night.” EX 13:21 This strange cloud which turned bright at night had the Lord’s presence in it for He often spoke out of the cloud. Later the cloud hovered over the tabernacle the Israelites built: “And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the CLOUD COVERED THE TABERNACLE, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.” Numbers 9:15-16

A fire also appeared on the day of Pentecost: “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues LIKE AS OF FIRE, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:2-4.

Again in our age on March 27, 1836 at the dedication of the Kirtland temple we find a similar occurrence: “Brother George A. Smith arose and began to prophesy, when a noise was heard like the sound of a rushing mighty wind, which filled the temple, and all the congregation simultaneously arose, being moved upon by an invisible power; many began to speak in tongues and prophesy; others saw glorious visions; and I beheld the temple was filled with angels, which fact I declared to the congregation. The people of the neighborhood came running together (hearing an unusual sound within, and SEEING A BRIGHT LIGHT LIKE A PILLAR OF FIRE RESTING UPON THE TEMPLE), and were astonished at what was taking place.” DHC 2:428 (Parentheses in the original)

Notice here that the fire was so real that the neighbors who were non members also saw it and were “astonished.” We have another interesting account of this event: “In the morning Father Smith prayed for a Pentecost, in the opening of the meeting. That day the power of God rested mightily upon the saints. There was poured out upon us abundantly the spirit of revelation, prophesying and tongues. The Holy Ghost filled the house; and along in the afternoon a noise was heard. It was the sound of a mighty rushing wind. But at first the congregation was startled, not knowing what it was. TO MANY IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE ROOF WAS ALL IN FLAMES. Father Smith exclaimed, ‘Is the house on fire!”‘ WOMEN OF MORMONDOM Pg 208

We are also told that “The angels of the Lord appeared unto them and cloven tongues of FIRE sat upon many of them and they prophesied and spoke in tongues.” ERASTUS SNOW SKETCHBOOK Page 1.

This is just part of what happened. Throngs of angels were seen and Jesus was reported to have sat in the congregation. Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery saw their great vision.

Why is it that these great manifestations occurred at the Kirtland temple and have not reoccurred on the same scale since? There are several reasons for this:

FIRST: The pattern of the temple was given by revelation, which pattern was followed. One witness relates: “About this time Frederick G. Williams, one of President Smith’s counselors, came into the temple, when the following dialogue took place in my presence.

Carpenter Rolph said, Doctor, what do you think of the HOUSE?

He answered, It looks to me like the pattern precisely. Then he related the following:

Joseph received the word of the Lord for him to take his two councilors Williams and Rigdon and come before the Lord, and He would show them the plan or model of the House to be built. We went upon our knees, called on the Lord, and the building appeared within viewing distance: I being the first to discover it. Then all of us viewed together.

After we had taken a good look at the exterior, the building seemed to come right over us, and the makeup of this hall seemed to coincide with what I saw to a minutia.

Joseph was accordingly enabled to dictate to the mechanics, and his counselors stood as witnesses; and this was strictly necessary in order to satisfy the spirit of unbelief in consequence of the weakness or childishness of the Brethren of those days.” Autobiography of Truman O Angell Pg 4-5

Brigham Young affirmed this statement: “Joseph not only received a revelation and commandment to build a temple, but HE RECEIVED A PATTERN. ALSO AS DID MOSES for the tabernacle, and Solomon for his temple; for without a pattern, he could not know what was wanting.” JD 2:31

Thus we see that one of the reasons for the manifestations of the Spirit was that the saints followed the pattern revealed from heaven,

SECOND: The Quorums of the Priesthood were in order. This order was not obtained without difficulty. Joseph said: “I labored with each of these quorums for some time to bring them to the order which God had shown to me… I had considerable trouble to get all the quorums united in this order. I went from room to room REPEATEDLY, and charged each separately, assuring them that it was according to the mind of God, yet notwithstanding all my labor, while I was in the east room with the Bishop’s quorum, I felt, by the spirit, that something was wrong in the quorum of Elders in the West room, and I immediately requested Presidents Oliver Cowdery and Hyrum Smith to go and see what was the matter. The Quorum of Elders had not observed the order which I had given them… This caused the Spirit of the Lord to withdraw… The other quorums were more careful…” 11 DHC 2:391-392 Then through much labor Joseph got the quorums in proper enough order to receive great manifestations, but he said that if certain orders revealed from God are obeyed then certain results will follow. If the correct order is not followed then there will be no results. In the Kirtland Temple they followed the correct order and they obtained the results.

Are the LDS following the correct order today? Since they do not have the results does that not make it obvious that the correct order is not followed? When the temples are dedicated today does a pillar of fire rest upon it? Why not? If they were following the correct order then such results would be automatic, but unfortunately, the temples are weighed in the balance and found wanting. It is true that some of the earlier ones besides the Kirtland Temple had some manifestations, but the order has never been followed closely enough to produce a similar endowment. The Lord said: “Yea I will appear unto my servants, and speak unto them with mine own voice, if my people will keep my commandments, and DO NOT POLLUTE THIS HOLY HOUSE.” D&C 110:8

Concerning a house to be built for the Presidency of the church the Lord said: “And ye shall not suffer any unclean thing to come in unto it; AND MY GLORY SHALL BE THERE, AND MY PRESENCE SHALL BE THERE. But if there shall come into it any unclean thing, MY GLORY SHALL NOT BE THERE; AND MY PRESENCE SHALL NOT COME UNTO IT.” D&C 94:8-9

Now people can say all day long that they feel in their hearts that the glory of God is in our temples today, but so do the Baptists about their buildings, but no one can deny that they do not have manifestations of VISIBLE glory, even to non-members, as they did in Kirtland. If the Lord’s actual glory and presence are there it will produce an effect as it did in the days of Moses and on the day of Pentecost, and in the Kirtland temple. If this glory is not manifest then the correct procedure has NOT been followed.

In speaking of the temple to be built in Jackson County the Lord said “a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord WHICH SHALL FILL THE HOUSE.” D&C 84:5

One of the reasons the Lord allowed the Saints to be driven from there was that if he would have allowed them to stay and build the temple in their unworthy condition his house would have been polluted by some and the Lord would not have been able to fulfill his prophecy for in order to produce the result a certain order must be followed.

Now we come to an interesting point that few people have contemplated, and that is that the glory which the Lord plans to reveal in his temples is merely a type or symbol of the greater glory which will be manifest in His stakes or cities. We can see the correspondence from the microcosm to the macrocosm. An individual human being is inherently a Son of God and God is at times able to manifest his glory through him when the right principles are followed. For instance, we have Moses when he came off the mount; he was so filled with the glory of God the people could not look upon him and they covered him with a veil so as to endure his presence. The same thing to a possible greater extent happened to Jesus on the Mount of transfiguration: “His face did shine as the sun.” Matt 17:2

As we advance up the scale we find that the physical temples we build are merely symbols of the temples we call bodies and must be built after a certain pattern to correspond with certain laws just as our body conforms to laws and when the laws are utilized the glory of God is manifest. But since a temple, which is a physical building, can house numerous smaller temples, or physical bodies, if there is no pollution then much greater glory can be revealed.

On the other hand, the temple building only foreshadows an even greater glory to be manifest through a stake or city of Zion. If such a city or stake is not polluted then the glory which in the past, has only been revealed in a small way, in small areas, will be manifest over a large area which will fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy that a flaming fire will be over Zion. The whole city would be aflame with the glory of God just as the Kirtland temple was on a smaller scale. Never in recorded history do we find such an event, but it would transpire today if there was even ONE stake of Zion built after the order that God has commanded and it was filled with those who would not pollute the holy place which pollution stops the flow of the Spirit and one tiny short circuit can be responsible for shutting down the lights of an entire city.

Exploring further we see that once the glory of God is manifest through a city we again have only a foreshadowing of something greater. The greater goal is to build Zion all over North and South America, and after that the whole world and when this happens then “the whole earth is full of His glory.” Isa 6:3 “For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea,” Isa 11:9

Actually, the power and glory of God is not to be created, but it is to be revealed, for God’s glory is always present. The scriptures tell us that we are covered or shielded from it. When the glory of God is revealed we do not create it, but we merely lift the fog of unbelief to reveal the light.

The Lord said: “Behold, it is my will, that all they who call on my name, and worship me according to mine everlasting gospel, should gather together, and stand in holy places; and prepare for the revelation which is to come, when the veil of the COVERING OF MY TEMPLE in my tabernacle, WHICH HIDETH THE EARTH SHALL BE TAKEN OFF, and all flesh shall see me together. And every corruptible thing, both of man, or of the beasts of the field, or of fowls of the heavens: or of the fish of the sea, that dwells upon all the face of the earth shall be consumed; and also that of element shall melt with fervent heat; and all things shall become new, that my knowledge and glory may dwell upon ALL THE EARTH.” D&C 101:22-25

When man lives God’s laws he rents the veil between heaven and earth. The same thing happens when a building conforms to the laws, and the same for a city, a nation, or a planet. When the planet as a whole then conforms to the law the veil will dissolve, for the veil is only created by man’s ignorance. Then we will have an entirely new heaven before our eyes and the earth will be rearranged and become new making a “new heaven and new earth.” In a future day we are told that the inhabitants of the New Jerusalem will have “no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamb is the light thereof… there shall be no night there…” Rev 21:23&25

The principle of covering or uncovering the glory of God was illustrated by Christ when he said: “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matt 6:22-23

The eye of the human race and of the planet are those who are the prophets, seers, and saints of mankind – the true race of Israel. These are to be the “saviors on Mount Zion.” However, if their eye is evil, or set on the glory of the world and not God then they and the rest of mankind will have covered themselves from God and “How great is that darkness!” But if we have a few who go forward with an eye single to the glory of God and not man then the whole of that body of people “shall be full of light” which light will eventually fill the whole world rending the veil fulfilling the promise of God that “Heaven and earth shall come together.”

The process is then repeated on many earths and spheres, all of them eventually revealing the glory of God, so as far as they fulfill the law.

When this glory begins to manifest through individuals then “two shall put their tens of thousands to flight. And by the weak things of the earth the Lord shall thrash the nations by the power of his Spirit.” D&C, 133: 58-59 “And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and power of the Holy Ghost.” I Nephi 13:37 The Lord also said: “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you.” Eze 11:19

Joseph Smith also gave an indication as to how the world is to be subdued: “It will not be by sword or gun that the kingdom will roll on; the power of truth is such that all nations will be under the necessity of obeying the gospel.” DHC 6:365.

The church often quotes the following scripture as pertaining to genealogy work only: “And saviors shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” Obadiah verse 21 the LDS believe one may be a savior in doing a saving work for the dead but the Hebrew for savior is YASHA which means “to deliver or bring to safety.” Few realize that the actual intent of Obadiah was NOT intended toward genealogy work, but pertaining to a physical deliverance in this life.

If we read Obadiah in its correct context we see that the Lord is talking about Esau and the world as a whole and is speaking of the final deliverance of Israel and the destruction of Esau and the world, We are told that “all the heathen drink continually; yea, they shall drink (damnation), and they shall swallow down, AND THEY SHALL BE AS THOUGH THEY HAD NOT BEEN. BUT UPON MOUNT ZION SHALL BE DELIVERANCE, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

“And the house Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be ANY REMAINING of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it.” Obadiah verses 16- 18

We are told that there will be great destruction and again that the Lord “will not spare ANY that remain in Babylon” D&C 64:24, or in this case among the world and Esau, but “upon mount Zion shall be deliverance.” “Deliverance” comes from the Hebrew PeLETAH, which literally means “an escaped remnant.” In other words, there will be an escaped portion that will dwell in Zion. These who escape and help others to be delivered from destruction are call “saviors” or deliverers on mount Zion.

It’s obvious that Orson Hyde did his homework and studied the chapter for himself for he said: “Where is the mount of Esau? It is the world at large, the wickedness of which God hates. YOU ARE A SAVIOR ON MOUNT ZION WHEN YOU HELP YOUR BRETHREN GATHER. When will it be that the angels are sent to gather in the remnant? It will be just at the time when the saints have done ALL that is in their power to do, and can do no more.” JD 2:68 All of this agrees with the prophet Joseph: “There will be here and there a stake (of Zion) for the gathering of the saints … We ought to have the building up of Zion as our greatest object, when wars come, we shall have to FLEE to Zion.” DHC 3:390

Before we can “flee” to Zion there has to be a Zion to flee to, thus it should be our “greatest object” to build it up.

Unfortunately, the church today seems completely unaware of how Zion will be built for they really believe that they are building it today and that the New Jerusalem will be just another stake. A Church News editorial said: “But Jerusalem itself will be a development from the Lord’s kingdom in the mountains. Here the prophets abide. FROM HERE will they establish the central stake AS THEY DO ALL OTHER STAKES.” CHURCH NEWS May 26, 1979

To the contrary, the New Jerusalem will not be just another stake established from Salt Lake, but when it is established it will be the NEW headquarters for the pyre in heart and FROM there will the law go forth not Salt Lake. It will not be a stake established like “all other stakes,” but it will be a city of refuge established in a day of great tribulation When cities are destroyed and communications are broken up then the authorities will not be able to establish it from their ivory towers at their leisure, but the effort will take all the energy of the most Holy of the saints, and such effort will be crucial to the physical survival of the righteous.

In view of all of this evidence I am amazed to hear some people say: “So what if I were to die in the tribulation! We are not supposed to be afraid to die. If we keep the commandments we will go to the celestial kingdom and all will be well.”

Such gross ignorance is nothing new. Brigham Young had to contend with it in his day. He said: “Latter-Day Saints who live merely to get ready to die are not worth much; RATHER GET READY TO LIVE, and be prepared to live to the glory of your Father in heaven, and to do the work he has given you to do. THAT IS OUR DUTY, and then we shall be-ready to receive our blessings.” JD 2:271

I’m sure Lehi had lo also contend with such individuals when he was warning the people of the destruction of Jerusalem. They probably said: “So what if we die? Our God is pleased with us. We live the law of Moses.”

The people in the days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorra, the Jaredites, the Jews in the days of Jesus… All of them probably said the same thing. However, when destruction came upon them they all found that they were of all people the least prepared to die and fear and terror reigned in their breast much more than would have done in others who try and prepare to live.

What would have happened if men such as Noah, Lot, Abraham, Lehi and others said: “So what if I die?” If they had not made preparations to live where would you and I be? Most importantly where would they be? They would be under great condemnation.

Of course, we should not be afraid to die for what is right, but many forget our responsibility to live, not only for ourselves, but for future generations. Suppose one more soul would have repented and entered the ark with Noah? Today he would probably have about a billion descendants that would praise his name for making the effort to live according to the witness he received. As it is, there is not the name of one person or his children who lived at the time of Noah who is remembered on the earth today. Even Noah is not remembered for his success as a preacher, but his name is great today merely because he obeyed the Lord and physically survived. The same is true today. If we can just survive the desolations which await us, that by itself will be a monument to our wisdom for future generations to praise. On the other hand, even if one has no desire to save his own skin, we have a duty to our posterity to do it. Can you imagine the sorrow of one who through his folly dies in the desolation ahead only to be greeted on the other side by thousands of souls who planned to come through his lineage?

Let us be as wise virgins so our children will be those who share the joys of the world to come.

Chapter Eight

The Gathering Must Take Place Before The Second Coming

Many people today seem to be getting the idea that Jesus could come most any time, but few realize that among the many events that must take place before he can come – even to a group of people, is the gathering of Israel. The Lord commanded the building of the New Jerusalem “that my covenant people MAY BE GATHERED IN ONE IN THAT DAY WHEN I SHALL COME TO MY TEMPLE. AND THIS I DO FOR THE SALVATION OF MY PEOPLE.” D&C 42:36 Isn’t that interesting that the gathering of the elect at his second coming is “for the salvation of his people?” This is in perfect harmony with a statement by Joseph Smith: “There is no other way for the saints to be saved in these last days, than by the gathering, as the concurrent testimony of all the Holy Prophets clearly proves… It is also the concurrent testimony of all the prophets, that this gathering together of ALL saints, MUST TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE LORD COMES to take vengeance upon the ungodly, and to be glorified and admired by all those who obey the gospel.” DHC 4:272

Again from the scriptures we have more evidence: “Righteousness and truth will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather out mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, unto a place which I shall prepare, a holy city, that my people may gird up their loins, AND BE LOOKING FORTH FOR THE TIME OF MY COMING, for there shall be my tabernacle, and it shall be called Zion, a new Jerusalem.” Moses 7:62

How could they be looking forth to the time of his coming after Zion is built if he is coming previous to that as many believe? We are plainly told here that the Saints will still be looking for the coming of the Lord even after they are dwelling in the new Jerusalem.

Joseph Smith again verifies this: “BEFORE the tabernacle can be with men, the elect must be gathered from the four quarters of the earth.” And to show further upon this subject of the gathering, Moses, after having pronounced the blessing and cursing upon the children of Israel, for their obedience or disobedience, says thus: ‘And it shall come to pass, when these things shall come upon thee, the blessing and the curse which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind, among the nations whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, and shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice, according to all that I command thee, this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thine soul, then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return AND GATHER THEE FROM ALL THE NATIONS whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will He fetch thee.’” (Deut 30:1-4)” DHC 2:261

As further evidence of this point we quote the presiding Bishopric in Kirtland from the History of the Church; These men were taught directly by Joseph Smith: “Every saint has an equal interest in building up the Zion of our God, for it is AFTER the Lord has built up Zion that he will appear in his glory (Psalm cii:16). We all look for the appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ, but we shall look in vain UNTIL ZION IS BUILT, for Zion is to be the dwelling place of our God when he comes.” DHC 2:516.

Few seem to realize that Jesus does not want a repeat performance of his last visit when he comes again this time. If He were to appear now in our unprepared condition the Latter-day Saints would reject him and accuse him of operating by the power of the devil just as the ancient Jews did. The reason is, of course, that be would teach many of the deeper mysteries and concepts which would seem as foolishness to the natural man. “His reward is with him” or, in other words, the great knowledge within him can only be shared with a prepared people. Only those who are “seeking” and “knocking” as they were commanded will appreciate the Lord when he comes.

One of the main reasons for substantiating the fact that the

literal gathering must take place before the second coming is because of the gross misunderstanding of the following scripture: “Then shall two men be, in the field; one is taken and one is left: two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left. Watch therefore, for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.” MATT 24:40-42

Often when the gathering concept is presented to the Latter- Day Saints they will quote this scripture and then state their belief that all that is needed is personal righteousness for then he can live in a large city and if he is worthy then the Lord will rapture him away to safety at his coming.

This is a great and dangerous deception by the craftiness of men, and it was never taught by the prophets but many of the saints now believe that because of this future rapture that a gathering is no longer necessary for why do we need to be gathered away from the wicked if we are going to be raptured from them anyway in the future?

Actually, this reasoning would be fairly accurate if this was the correct interpretation of the scripture, but as we shall show this belief is a mere sectarian notion which leads people into a false sense of security, just as the Jews were in before the destruction of Jerusalem.

There are several flaws and contradictions in this belief and the most obvious is the idea that we no longer need a gathering be cause of the future rapture. Have we not clearly shown in the last few pages that this is false by quoting the prophets as saying that Zion must be built and the saints gathered BEFORE the second coming? Yet this supposed rapture is to take place AT the coming of the son of Man. (See Matt 24:39) Moreover Matthew chapter twenty-four itself relates the gathering of the elect before this rapture event. About ten verses previous we find: “They shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matt 24:31 Consequently, Matthew and all the other prophets teach that the elect have to be gathered BEFORE the second coming and BEFORE any supposed rapture.

Actually, people read this scripture, and they think that it is merely referring to the separation of the good and evil people throughout the world, but few realize that at the fulfillment of this scripture most of the really evil people will have already been separated from the earth. We have already quoted scriptures showing how desolation will come and cities will lay waste so those who expect to live in a city of Babylon and be raptured will find themselves “utterly burned with fire” long before the second coming transpires.

What then is the true meaning of this rapture scripture? We have several interesting clues: (1) This is event will take place AFTER the literal gathering of Israel. (2) It will happen at the advent of the Son of Man. (3) One half were taken and one half left. (4) These people referred to were all among those who were commanded to “watch” or, in other words, the saints of God.

This is illustrated more fully in the Inspired Version “And then cometh the end of the wicked according to the prophecy of Moses, saying, They should be cut off from among the people.” Matt 24:56 I.V. This scripture indicates that Jesus is referring to a final separation of the sheep from the goats. In other words, there are two separations which must occur. The first separation is to happen in the immediate gathering when the Telestial people will be left behind. In speaking of the Telestial people Joseph Smith said that “these are they who WILL NOT BE GATHERED WITH THE SAINTS, to be caught up.” D&C 76:102. Concerning this first separation we are told that there will be “one of a city and two of a family” Jer 3:14 or a very small percentage of the people. But concerning this second separation, which will separate the Celestial from the Terrestrial people, we are told that a full HALF will be on each side. This is reiterated in the parable of the ten virgins with one half wise and one half foolish, or “deceived by the craftiness of men.”

An examination of the Greek words involved here will shed further light on the interpretation. In the scripture Jesus compares His coming with the days of Noah where the people were unprepared then and adds: “so shall be the coming of the son of Man. then two men shall be in the field; one is taken and one is left…”

Two key words here are “taken” and “left.” Taken here comes from the Greek word PARALAMBANO which literally means “to accept or receive into a close relationship.” The word “left” comes from the Greek APHIEMI which literally means “to send away.” Thus if we translate the scripture according to the true meaning we have: “Then two men shall be in the field; one shall be received into full fellowship (By the Christ) and the other one shall be sent away.” This agrees with the inspired Version which says that the unworthy “should be cut off from among the people” in that day.

We might point out here that those who are cut off may not all be terrestrial people for there may yet be telestial people even gathered with the saints, or perhaps some will have lowered themselves to that state as indicated: “But if my evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him.” Matt 24:48-49 We are told that this individual is a servant of the Lord who will have survived the desolations and will be here when the Lord comes, but he will loose faith and not be received into full fellowship, but will be sent away to dwell with the hypocrites.

This is all reiterated in the parable of the Virgins which follows the rapture scripture: “And then, at that day, before the Son of man comes, the Kingdom of Heaven shall be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and WENT FORTH (Gathered together) to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five of them were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps (meaning they did all things that were physically necessary they built cities and gathered together) and took no oil with them (they were not spiritually prepared and depended on others for their strength); but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps (these had the Holy Spirit and light within them). While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all these virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out, Stay with us and teach us for without you to lean on we cannot stand. But the wise answered, saying, lest there not be enough for us and you, go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. (We will retrogress and loose the Spirit if we stay any longer with you. Go and find other teachers to help you prepare). And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; (Notice that he came when only the five wise virgins were gathered) and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, Ye know me not. Watch therefore; for ye know neither the day not the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” Matt 25:1-12 Inspired Ver.

The Doctrine and Covenants sheds some light upon this parable. We are clearly told: “And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins, for they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived – verily, I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.”

D&C 45:56-57

The scriptures clearly tell us that the five foolish will be AMONG the righteous that are gathered: “And until that hour (the second coming) there will be foolish virgins among the wise.” D&C 63:54

CONCLUSION: Those who do not gather because they expect a rapture are heirs to the Telestial kingdom (D&C 76:102). The supposed rapture scripture will not be fulfilled until AFTER the gathering, at the time of the Second Coming, and even at that time approximately fifty percent of the people will be foolish and unprepared.

Astral Details
JJ: From the bottom of the astral world to the top is a tremendous difference. At the top it is very close to the mental world. But the astral world, since half of you are Mormons is the really the terrestrial kingdom. The telestial kingdom is what?

It is this earth right here and as a matter of fact when you go the Mormon temple they say right in it that, brothers and sisters this is a lonely world the telestial kingdom the world in which we now reside. So this world and all the stars up there are all a part of the telestial kingdom. The telestial kingdom is what ministered to by the Holy Spirit, and that is how the spirit ministers us to in this world. If we are true seeker then we will feel an inward spirit come to us and that is how we are ministered to in this telestial world.

The next step up is terrestrial world and that is the astral world and most of us go there after we die. The upper parts of the astral world would be the terrestrial world and the lower parts would be what the Bible calls the spirits in prison for want of a better word. But the upper parts of the astral world are what are called heaven. The upper parts of the astral world in esoteric writings are called the Devachan. They teach that the Devachan is like a dream. In other words, everybody is having their own dreams and they are pleasant dreams and it seems real but it is a little bit like a dream world in the fact that everything is governed by the power of feeling and thought.

When you are there it seems just as real as anything. The lower part will be filled with Mormons, Methodists and so on and they will all have their individual groups and they will maintain their teaching and most of them will not believe in reincarnation. It is interesting when they did a survey among people with near death experience that about sixty percent were told there was reincarnation and about forty percent were told there was not reincarnation and that is because they went to different places. Where the regular religious people go they will be preaching the standard gospel waiting for Jesus to show up. As a matter of fact sometimes when a person dies he is really into religious teachings and there is really no place for him in the astral world then they will arrange a greeting group for them and they will also arrange kind of a play situation where he will come and meet Jesus and they will have an environment like he is expecting to have after he dies until he kind of gets used to it and then they will start explaining to him that is really not real and they will say okay we are now going to take you to the real astral world.

There are different grades of etheric matter where other different life forms live like on some planets like Venus. There are actually beings that live on Venus in higher etheric matter, not on the astral world but on higher etheric matter. But on the actual lower physical that we are in there is no life on the surface at least but there might be something in the interior.

What is different about the mental world is when you want something you create it with your mind and when you want something in the astral world you create it with your feelings. Like lets say you want an apple you feel a desire for an apple and an apple will materialize but when you are in the mental world if you want an apple then you just think an apple and an apple will materialize. They say that you do not have to eat in the spirit world but you can eat for your own enjoyment because we are so used to eating here that you can eat there also. Now another question that the book that Larry mentioned did not answer is, do they have sex there and the answer is that they do have sex but it is different than it is here and what happens is they create like a charge of energy and exchange the energy so it is not like having actual physical sex with a physical body but there is an intense feeling of sharing.

Audience: And which one is that the mental world?

That is in the astral worlds – in the higher worlds they share a consistent feeling of union without the need of sex – though a correspondence to it can be had if desired.

Audience: Yes they did this in the movie Cocoon.

JJ: Another question that many people have is what happens when a person commits suicide or gets blown up instantly or the body does catastrophically.

If a person commits suicide the general teaching is that they will sleep until they would have normally died. For instance if a person commits suicide when they are 20 and they would have normally died when they were 50, they would normally sleep in the spirit world for up to thirty years. Now I do not believe that this is a hard and fast rule but I feel that there is truth behind and they will sleep for a period of time and they will eventually be given another chance but suicide always creates karma because the person was in a terrible situation in his life or at least he thought he was and he decided to escape it. There was a lesson to learn there by facing it and he will eventually have to come back and face it again until he is finally willing to work through it rather than taking his life.

Audience: Why would they sleep during this time between taking their own life and dying a normal death?

JJ: Because energy follows thought you see and he was trying to extinguish his life, not his eternal life but the life that he would have led on the earth. I do not believe this is a hard and fast exact rule but it is a general rule with exceptions. I think many wake up earlier than their original time of death.

Also if a person dies suddenly his actually spirit body or astral body will be in a state of shock and he is actually met there by the spirit doctors who assist him in recovery. It is impossible to destroy the astral or spirit body with an explosion or car crash or something like that but the sudden death is somewhat of a shock to the system that they need a bit of rest in the spirit world before they are able to function. Now some people wonder what would happen if you had a direct hit by an atomic bomb – would that hurt your astral body? I think it would be a shock to your system but I don’t think it would destroy your astral body or do any permanent damage to it. Some people theorize that it would but I haven’t seen a teaching on it by anyone I would trust one way or another but my gut feeling is that nothing we could do here could create any permanent harm to our astral body, unless we do it ourselves through our own negligence.

Audience: What about if a physic vampire wants to pull your energy from you?

JJ: Well that drains your physical and then you recover in the astral world and you would completely recover.

Audience: What if you astral project your energy in your physical body?

JJ: If you astral project to the lowest levels of the astral you might find little devils trying to zap you of all your energy but if you go to the mid astral you would not have to worry about such entities because they will have no such power to latch on to you. But if you go to the lowest realms of the astral world then these vampire types of very selfish people can make life a hell for you after death. But all of these are temporary residences – all except for the people that are dedicated to the path of darkness and these people don’t even go to the astral world, they go to what is written in esoteric writings as the eighth sphere. This is actually a lower vibration than the actual physical. The eighth sphere in Mormon language is where the sons of perdition will go to where their being, everything that composes them begins to break down and then they are recycled in the recycling pit of God so to speak. And their soul eventually puts out a new personality and tries again to create a successful creation from the monad of the person, so that is interesting.

Audience: What is an ashram and more specifically if the Masters are incarnated in bodies on the earth right now, they have ashrams or schools that are teaching right?

JJ: An ashram is just a gathering of students around a teacher. We could call this an ashram right here – I am the teacher and you are the ashram so to speak and that is all an ashram means in the east. Now it is a risk for a Master to incarnate because he loses his memory and has to start and re-do his initiations in miniature. Sometimes he will get caught and does not quite get up to the third initiation. He gets trapped and will have to incarnate a number of times to where he has to get back to where he was before. And this is one of the reasons that the Masters are hesitant to come and work with us because it is a little bit risky. Maybe is that is why The Christ has not taken a body for over 2000 years.

Audience: But you said that He has one.

JJ: Right He has one now but He has not taken a fresh incarnation to work among us. The physical body that He is with now is probably thousands of years old. He could leave that physical body at any time and be born as a child if He decided to. He could recreate that discarded physical body again if he decided to because He is in the middle of His seventh degree initiation.

Audience: Now is this Jesus or Christ?

JJ: The Christ, Jesus is a fifth degree initiate right now and Christ is half way through His seventh. The Tibetan says an interesting thing about this and I never really thought of it until I read DK who says, “What people really don’t think about is what is going through the mind of Christ as He is contemplating His second coming.” And when he said that I thought, put yourself in His situation, people are expecting me to come in a blaze of glory and wipe out all the wicked and bring peace on earth and goodwill to all men. Don’t people realize how difficult this would be!

Don’t they realize how difficult it is to move things around so there is peace on earth or how ridiculous it would be to just wipe out everybody just because I think they are wicked? How am I going to manifest on the world so I can convince a substantial number of people that I have something to offer this time. Remember He only had about 120 followers last time when He was crucified.

Audience: In the Aquarian Gospel it says that Jesus, before his actual Jerusalem ministry was mingling amongst other adepts and he was contemplating that very thing.

JJ: Yes that was the interesting part of it where they all had that conference and they all gave their advice to Jesus and they said well we think if you did this it would be good. That was very interesting and He is probably doing that right now, talking amongst the other Masters thinking how He is going to pull off his Second Coming.

The Coming of Christ

The second coming of Christ has to be the most misunderstood doctrine in all Christendom for there is not one of the sects that is even halfway preparing for it correctly and when the Christ comes he will again find his greatest response from the same type of people who received him the last time: The non religious but spiritual people, and people who were ostracized from the normal religious community.

When Jesus was with the twelve they asked him: “What shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the world? ”(Greek AEON or “Age”) The word “coming” comes from the Greek PAROUSIA which more correctly is translated as “presence”. This word is used by Paul to demonstrate this: “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence (PAROUSIA) only, but now much more in my absence.” Phil 2:12 We see that PAROUSIA means the opposite of “absence”. The word can also be translated as “nearness”. Thus we see that the signs given in Matthew chapter twenty-four are indications of the nearness or the presence of Christ

The three stages of the coming of Christ are:

(1) The teaching and introduction of the Christ Consciousness. The lifting up of the Son of Man or the Christ consciousness in a large group of people.
(2) The partial and/or complete overshadowing of certain disciples and groups.
(3) The appearance of Christ himself in physical manifestation.

The second step is the beginning of the presence of the entity who is Christ on the earth for He shall indeed be present even though it may not be in a body of his own to start with, and this event is actually prophesied of in the scriptures themselves.

A careful reading of Zechariah will reveal that the persons mentioned as Joshua and Zerubbabel are representative of the Christ. Keeping this in mind let us read: “Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be SEVEN EYES, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of Hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.” Zech 3:8-9

Here we have mention of Joshua who is Jesus and the stone which is laid before him who was the overshadowing Christ, the stone of Israel. Then there is the servant, the BRANCH who is the one like Moses. Finally there is a group of disciples who are “wondered at.” These persons are the seven eyes of the stone of Israel or the Christ. They are seven entities who shall experience the overshadowing presence of Christ as Jesus did. We see that when this will happen that the Lord will remove the iniquity out of the land. Thus it is obvious that it shall occur near the beginning of the new age of peace.

The seven eyes are mentioned again in the next chapter; “For who hath despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven, they are the eyes of the Lord, WHICH RUN TO AND FRO THROUGH THE WHOLE EARTH.” Zech 4:10.

We find another mention of this in the Book of Revelation: “And in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God SENT FORTH INTO ALL THE EARTH.” Rev 5:6

Seven individuals are mentioned in another prophecy concerning Christ: “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; (Christ) whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (He has the experience of many lifetimes.)…And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then we shall raise against him SEVEN SHEPHERDS, and eight principle men.” Micah 5:2 & 5

We see from these scriptures that there will be seven men raised up in the last days who will be called the eyes of the Lord and will run to and fro through the earth and finally that they will assist the Christ in driving back the Assyrian or the Anti-Christ forces. Altogether there will be eight principle men if we include the Christ. They will be men of wonder because these seven men will be overshadowed and will fulfill the prophecy of doing even greater things than Jesus did because the Christ will come in unto them and sup with them and the Christ has even more wisdom, experience and power than he had two thousand years ago so we can look forward to marvelous things ahead. These wonders may or may not include miracles in the normal sense. They will definitely include synthesizing and uniting people and groups to prepare for the coming of the Master.

Christ will use these seven entities as seven projections of his presence through the assistance of other Masters in his group. His spirit will shift from one person to another as His overshadowing presence is needed and will produce a tremendous effect as if there were a group of saviors on the earth.

The second stage in the presence of Christ involves a larger group of disciples wherein the Christ within them will be manifest on a larger scale. These disciples will try and fulfill the commandment given by Paul: “Let this mind BE IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.” Phil 2:5 In speaking of himself and faithful disciples he said: “But we have the mind of Christ.” I Cor 2:16

Many people quote these scriptures, but few believe them. If we really have the mind of Christ then we will find that all of the scriptures that apply to Jesus also apply to us. For instance, Jesus said: “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.” John 3:13. We are also Sons of God who will ascend into heaven who have in the beginning came from heaven.

Jesus continues: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.” John 3:14

It is true that this corresponds to his death on the cross, but he also wanted to illustrate that each man should have the Son of man, or the mind of Christ lifted up within him so that “when he shall appear we shall be like him”. I John 3:2 We shall be like him because the consciousness of Christ is lifted up in us.

Next Jesus said: “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:15-16.

Not only should we believe the words and works of Jesus, but we must believe in and have faith in the Son of God that dwells within us. If we do this we can have everlasting life and life at the end of the age or in the age of peace. The Son of God that can be lifted up within every man forms a part of ”Christ, the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is ONE Eternal God.” Thus when we lift up the Son of Man within ourselves we also become the Only Begotten Son for we are an extension of the only Son there is, for all the sons of men share a oneness that few can realize. Paul tried to teach the real Christ when he said: ”For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: SO ALSO IS CHRIST…Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.” I Cor 12:12&27.

Thus we see that Christ is an office that is composed of all those who take upon themselves his name. Everyone who listens to the sacrament prayer should be aware of this principle for we are told to “eat in remembrance of the BODY of thy Son (Which body is composed of many members), and witness unto thee, O God the eternal Father, THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO TAKE UPON THEM THE NAME OF THY SON…” Moroni 4:3.

To take upon ourselves the name of the Son means a lot more than remembering the works of another man however great he is. It means that we are to have the mind of Christ within us and to not think it mockery to be equal with God or to be a “savior on Mount Zion”, or a Christ. This principle is illustrated numerous times in the scriptures. For instance: “And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should TAKE UPON YOU THE NAME OF CHRIST all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives. And it shall come to pass that whosoever doeth this shall be found at the right hand of God, for he shall know the name by which he is called; FOR HE SHALL BE CALLED BY THE NAME OF CHRIST. And now it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall not take upon him the name of Christ must be called by some other name; therefore, he findeth himself on the left hand of God.” Mosiah 5:8-10.

Jesus repeated this doctrine when he visited the Nephites: “Have they not read the scriptures, which say ye must take upon you the name of Christ, which is my name? For by this name SHALL YE BE CALLED at the last day.” III Nephi 27:5 Again this is repeated in modern revelation: “Wherefore all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father, for in that name SHALL THEY BE CALLED at the last day.” D&C 18:24

We shall all bear the name of Christ if we are worthy and share the title of the only begotten. We are many members, but one body, “and the saints shall be filled with his glory, and receive their inheritance and BE MADE EQUAL WITH HIM.” D&C 88:107

If we lift up the Son of Man in us as Jesus did we will indeed eventually be made equal with him.

In speaking of this group of disciples Nephi said: “I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, who were the saints of God (Not necessarily the members of any denomination), were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small… And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord (those who take upon themselves his name), who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and WITH THE POWER OF GOD in great glory.” I Nephi 14:12-14.

What does it mean when it tells us that the saints of God will go forward with power and in great glory? Nephi gives us a perfect example when he prophesied of the mission of Jesus: “And I beheld that he went forth ministering unto the people in power and great glory.” I Nephi 11:28

Thus we may safely conclude that when the righteous in the latter days go forth with power and great glory they will go forth as saviors on mount Zion and do the works of Jesus, and possibly the greater works that he spoke of because they have lifted up the Son of man within themselves to reveal their true state as Sons of God.

The third stage of the second coming is the actual reappearance of the Christ himself. We say reappearance because he has not been gone to some far off heaven, but has been working right here on the earth for the past two thousand years for did he not say: “and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (from the Greek AION)which means “Age.” Matt 28:20.

The Christ told us that he would be with us to the end of the age and he has fulfilled that promise by not leaving the earth. This is the field of his mission, for at present he has no stewardship on other worlds, even though the position of the Christ ministers to all worlds.

Christ has had numerous previous lives and many were great, and noble ones, but he has not worked among men in the flesh since the days of Jesus. He has done much work in organizing a nucleus kingdom of heaven right here on the earth with a group of translated beings he calls the Spiritual Hierarchy of the Earth. He and other Masters of the resurrection work constantly with mankind inspiring them to do good and laying foundations which will eventually produce peace on the earth.

Some people believe that Christ was Buddha in a past life, but he was not. Buddha was a separate entity who was sent to help bring enough enlightenment to mankind so they could accept his message of love, brought by the Christ. Christ was however Krishna in a past life who was the founder of Hinduism. Many of his acts and words are recorded in the BHAGAVAD-GITA.

Many also believe that Christ was Melchizedek and there are some indications of this in the scriptures. For instance, we are told that the Priesthood was changed in ancient times from the Priesthood after the order of the Son of God to Melchizedek making Melchizedek synonymous with the Son of God. Melchizedek was the Christ who was overshadowed by for the Ancient of days, or the first Adam to come to the earth. The first Adam is an even higher entity than the Christ for he has already been a savior on another world before he came to the earth. He has power to create a physical body an the earth at will, which in the east is called a MAYAVIRUPA.

Thus when he appeared on the earth as Melchizedek be became the “King of Salem, which is, King of peace; without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.” Heb 7:2-3 Even though Joseph Smith said that this scripture was speaking of the Priesthood, it is also true of the Ancient of Days for he has no father or mother in this world. It was revealed to me that when Abraham’s name was changed from Abram to Abraham that he was overshadowed by a higher being. Even so the person who owned the body of Melchizedek was Christ and he was overshadowed by Adam, or Melchizedek, for it is written of him (Melchizedek): “Now there were many before him, and also there were many afterwards, but none were greater.” Alma 13:19

Before Christ will come again in a physical body the first two steps have to be fulfilled as we have discussed. There has to be people spiritually prepared to meet him and since reincarnation is one of the more simple doctrines he will teach we can see that there would be few ready to accept him with opened arms, especially among the Christian world. It is written: “When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.” Psalms 102:16 Thus we see that a Zion condition will precede his coming and not be the result of it.

When he appears this time he will not be the Jewish Messiah, for a lesser Avatar will appear to them, but he will fulfill the Messianic predictions of many of the major religions from Christianity to Moslem, to Hindu to the Buddhist. Exactly how he will manifest physically is a great mystery, but it will be one of three methods.

(1) He will be born as a natural child as happened last time. If the method of natural birth is chosen there will be no virgin birth, but he would be born as a normal child of no special appearance.
(2) He could create a physical body of manifestation which is called in the East a mayavirupa. He could manifest in this any time the world is prepared for him.
(3) He could manifest through a divine possession and share a physical body with a cooperating disciple. This was the method used with the disciple Jesus and is a closer relationship than an overshadowing. If this method is chosen then he could manifest later by methods (1) or (2) as the need may require.

At this point one would tend to object and say that the scriptures tell us that he will appear in power and great glory, but remember that is how Nephi prophesied that he would come the FIRST time, and this misinterpretation is the reason that the Jews failed to recognize him and is the reason many will fail to recognize him when he comes again. This is why it is written in the scriptures concerning the slothful: “And the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour THAT HE IS NOT AWARE.” Matt 24:50 In other words many supposed disciples will meet and see the Christ and not even be aware of him. Indeed, we are told that the righteous “shall be looking forth for the signs of my coming, AND SHALL KNOW ME.” D&C 39:23 Most people believe they will know Christ whether they are righteous or not because the physical glory will make it obvious. They are not aware that the great glory will be spiritual as it was the first time and only the righteous shall “know” him. There will indeed be “weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth among the deceived who will not recognize their Lord whom they professed to know as the five foolish virgins hoped to be ready for the bridegroom but had no oil (Holy Spirit) in their lamps.

When he comes it will be much different and more natural than any Christian dreams and, as it was last time, the less pious among the people will be the ones who will be his greatest disciples, whereas most orthodox Christians will reject him. This is as he anticipates.

When he comes, even though it will be of a different nature than people expect, it will be found that all the scriptures regarding his coming is accurate, but will be interpreted in a different light just as they were with his first appearance.

When he is here he will not fly around like a bird, but will use airplane like everyone else and thus “he will come in the clouds”. When he begins to attract attention he will be seen on television and “every eye will see him”. He will also bring with him the “holy angels.” The Greek for Angel means messenger. Thus Christ will bring with him other great disciples who will work with him.

Because of the nature of his coming the Lord has put much stress on readiness so we can recognize him and assist him in his mighty work. We are told to “be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you (That is be filled with the Spirit), that you may be ready at the coming of the Bride groom.” D&C 33:17 Also Jesus said “Therefore, be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Matt 24:44 Again Jesus said: “I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shall not know what hour I will come upon thee.” Rev 3:3

In other words if we are not ready and watching and seeking the Christ may pass us by and we may not even be aware which hour it was we saw him.

Hear, 0 Israel! The time is at hand when the days of marvelous works and wonders are to appear and these writings are to help prepare the lights to awaken so they can receive the marvelous things to come, for unless they awaken and be aware, Christ will come as a thief and pass them by. Let us be among the wise virgins who have oil in their lamps, or the Holy Spirit in us, so we do not lean on the arm of flesh and can be like prophets and not let the scoffing of men bother us so we can follow the light within which will lead to a recognition of the Christ. All the lights without are merely blinding lights that confuse and distort; therefore, let your eye be single that ye may be filled with light that “when he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is.” I John 3:2 “Wherefore marvel not, for the hour cometh that I will drink of the fruit of the vine with you on the earth.” D&C 27:5

Yes, it would be nice to sit down and have a drink with the Christ, our Elder Brother. And some of us will do just that.
