Becoming What We’ve Never Been

Becoming What We’ve Never Been
(Transcribed from a posted audio)

My friends, it’s good to talk with you again. I’m glad most of you seem to be enjoying this new format. I think we’re breaking some new ground here. I don’t know of any other people involved in an internet class where there’s a combination of audio and text like we have here. There are all sorts of radio stations out there promoting their wares but teaching classes this way over the internet is fairly unique, as far as I know. I think this will eventually evolve into a two-way communication where we can have a live broadcast and I can hear your response. This will be almost like being there in person. Like I said, this may be feasible within the next couple of years.

(Note: this was written in 2002. Now by using Zoom we have video as well as audio interaction.)

I appreciate those of you who responded to my last question on who you are becoming.

A member made an interesting response to the question. She said, “I’m not sure what I’m becoming. It seems to be different all the time.” She says she has a hard time answering that question. Well, you’re in good company because so did God. When Moses asked God His name He didn’t say, “I am the greatest, most high Lord in the universe” type of response. He said that He couldn’t really say who He is because He is becoming. In other words, “I am evolving. I’m going to be different tomorrow than I am today. So I am becoming who or what I decide to become.”

That’s why it’s rather hard for you to decide who or what you are becoming. It’s a constant process and as you progress today, tomorrow you’ll be a little different and think a little differently. This is why it’s really hard to pin down. We don’t want to say, “I am a nurse, I am a Doctor, I am a mortician” or whatever you happen to be. I could say, for instance, “I’m a teacher” but that’s an endeavor I work in, not who I am. Who I am is an evolving, becoming, moving forward being; a person who is progressing in consciousness. Even so, we do move in increments so it’s good to have an idea of what your next incremental move is. So you don’t want to entirely avoid identifying with who you are completely. You have to be ‘in the world, not of the world.”

Say you’re going to college and want to graduate in four years. You may not want to say, “I am a college graduate” when you graduate but part of your becoming is going through that graduation process. So, you want to make a goal then follow through with that goal. Make a decision; every goal involves a decision. Make a decision then follow through. This is the process of becoming.

So my idea of the seed thought was to put into your mind decisions that you are in the process of making, or should make for your next step in becoming. What decision do you need to make next? Think about that. What does it mean if you’re not making a decision? It means that something or someone out there is making the decisions for you. If you’re having all your decisions made for you, you’re not becoming the way you’re supposed to be. To truly become, you need to be the decision maker within your own sphere. Make the decisions that are going to affect the growth and movement in your life so that you become the cause rather than just an effect.

One phrase that has never settled well with me is, “I’m becoming who I already am.” When you think about it, it’s really a silly statement. If you’re becoming who you already are, you’re already that so you don’t need to become it. It’s an oxymoron or a very confusing statement.

The forces that want us to retrogress, or stand still, or not move ahead are very creative in the fact that they engineer many phrases, and philosophies and dogmas that are attractive to the lazy mind. These make the lazy mind think he is doing something by doing nothing. This is what, “I am becoming what I already am” is to a degree. If we came down to the Earth just to forget who we are and our only purpose is to remember who we are, then why do we come here to begin with? Why don’t we just stay back there?

DK talks about one third of those in heaven who refuse to incarnate. Being rather lazy beings they said, “We want to wait until the more peaceful eons before we come down. We’ll come down when you guys have done the hard work and it’s nice and peaceful down there. Then we’ll come down.” DK states the Great Lord said, “You will not only not be able to incarnate for the eons but for 14 times longer than you expected.” So, these lazy ones are cursed by not being able to incarnate for 14 times the period that they thought. Instead of waiting a period of time then coming down during an age of peace, they’ll won’t be able to come down during the age of peace but not for the next age or the ages after that. Apparently the powers that be do not like the lazy mind. So, these beings are what they were and do not have to become that which they are. If that’s all we want to be, then this third that DK talks about who have this tremendous punishment of not being able to come down and partake of mortality have it made. If the goal is to be who we already are, these beings have no reason to ever be born. But apparently they have a very severe punishment.

There is something more to our existence than just being who we already are. We have come down here to expand; expand our consciousness; expand our beingness; to become something that we’ve never been before. As a whole, the universe if evolving, as the body of God, towards something that has never existed before in all eternity. Looking at it that way it’s a very glorious thought. If you thought God did the same thing over and over and over and that you’d be doing the same thing over and over through eternity that would be a very discouraging thought. Thank God that there is true becoming; that we will be doing new things. The Bible itself says, “Behold, I do all things new.” He says this in Isaiah and also in the Book of Revelations.

Think of the key to your becoming as you become a cause rather than an effect. Be a cause and make decisions. Make a decision about your next step; what you need to do; what you need to do to serve, in particular, if you’re a disciple. If you’re an average person your decision will be around what to do to grow. That’s what the average person needs to know but when you’re a disciple your decision will be, “What is the next thing I can do to increase my power to serve?” This is the mindset of the disciple.

There as been some talk among members of the group about some additional prophecies of doom that are surfacing about this planet X. And there are always other things going on. I believe there is a new end-of-the-world prophecy every few months on the internet. Fortunately for us, they’re wrong. But you know a stopped clock is right twice a day so someday somebody may get a volcano going off on the right day. As far as this planet X goes, I doubt anything like this is going to happen within the next few years.

Someday we will be visited by another planet. Quite possibly it wouldn’t be a physical one but an etheric one that may materialize. But, if this happens it will be for a specific purpose. It wouldn’t just show up out of the blue to destroy everybody. I don’t see anything like this on the horizon in the next few years. As far as the destruction goes; the Earth changes and things of that nature, the coming Earth changes will be much more gradual than people expect. A considerable number of them will happen after the Aquarian age is solidly in and will occur over the next 500 to 1000 years. Before any great Earth changes, like raising of continents, there has to be a people prepared for that. This is because the raising and lowering of continents is to stimulate evolution in the planet and an evolution can’t be stimulated unless a people are prepared. So preparation needs to take place before that type of Earth change fulfills the purpose of God. Until there is a gathering of lights, you’re not going to see any of the great Earth changes that we’ll have. Unless we’re completely numb to the higher voices and the lights don’t respond then the Earth could be ripe for destruction but overall these things will not happen until there is a gathering.

The Earth changes are like a birthing process. The birth process is only successful when a seed is planted and nourished and that seed is the gathering of lights. When the gathering of lights happens, as the scriptures say, “The Earth will help the woman” which is the true church of God. The Earth helps the woman by saving her and nurturing her in whatever means necessary to create a new age or a new civilization when one is needed. Note the phrase, “when one is needed.” We’re moving along at a pretty good clip right now in our progress so the need right now is to go with the momentum established. Hopefully we won’t destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons.

That’s always a doomsday option for us if we are too complacent. But if we don’t do that the most important thing is for us to move ahead with the progress that humanity is making. When the time comes for the Earth changes there will be preparation ahead of time before that will happen.

Don’t get me wrong. Before the major Earth changes come there will be periodical things that happen that scare people; earthquakes, volcanoes, wars and things like this. There’s always enough fuel to provide preachers with enough ammunition so they can preach that God is preparing to destroy everything. That always seems to be the case for these prophets of doom. They always get ammunition by the signs of the times. This has always been this way. But, we

will see unique events when the time is right.

I thought it was neat when, during the Olympics, another group of which Blayne is a member, there were several people predicting there would be problems with the Olympics; there would be terrorist attacks, marshal law would be called in; a dictatorship would be set up and different things such as this. Blayne had the guts to make the prediction that nothing was going to happen. After the Olympics passed and everything was peaceful he got to say, “I told you so” to the group. It tickled me when I read about that.

If you want to be a true prophet you pick what everybody else is saying and say the opposite and 99 times out of 100 you’ll be right. One time out of 100 something might happen. There doesn’t seem to be anyone on the Earth right now getting true communication about when any catastrophe is going to happen. There doesn’t seem to be anyone saying anything accurate about that. The main reason for this is that the Hierarchy doesn’t see any need to give information on any disaster at this time.

Let me wrap this up and maybe emphasize the last question or reword it a bit. What is your next decision to make in your becoming? By that I don’t mean, are you going to become a nurse or a doctor or anything like that. What’s your next step? If you feel that you’re on the road to discipleship, what’s the next thing you need to do to become a better servant? To give yourself more power to serve? Do you need to go back to college? Do you need to make more money? Do you need to get a better job? Do you need to study more on your own? What do you feel you need to do? Think about that and post your thoughts on it.

I noticed one more post I’d like to comment on. He quotes me as saying, “When you discover what it is you’re supposed to do with your life, it will usually be something very difficult.” This is quite often true. It’s not always true because you have lifetimes where you are finishing up some learning from a past life. Then you have lives that are like a Sabbath or rest. But overall you have to follow your soul on this. An example, using myself, is that there was an important thing I needed to learn in my life and I kept trying to avoid it but events and circumstances kept pulling me back to it until I was forced to do it.

When you learn something new it’s always difficult. In at least 6 lives out of 7 you have some new task that you have to learn. When you do something new it’s always hard. The lazy way is to go back and do what you did in past lives that was easy for you. If you were a musician in the past and you’re good at it now and have a natural ability, maybe that’s what you want to do. But maybe you’re supposed to be learning something else instead. Or if you were a good carpenter in the past, maybe you’re supposed to become a musician. Maybe you have an accident that forces you to piddle around with your guitar and learn to write songs and things like this. So the circumstances in our lives will often lead us to that thing we have to do. If you’re going to be a disciple and teach and serve, you have to get that learning process out of the way before you can be useful.

This is taught quite a bit in the East. It’s expected a person will master a certain profession, get married, raise children. Then when he gets these things out of the way he can go into philosophy. It’s similar with us and this thing we need to learn. The thing we have to learn may have to do with service or it may not. It may have something to do with our personal karma or something on our agenda that our soul wants us to master before we can have the power to serve. It’s important that we find that thing. And when we find it, you’ll know it’s right by what you feel internally. Internally you may feel it’s difficult; to learn this or do this thing but you’ll feel a peace when you’re doing it. That’s how you’ll know when you’ve found this certain thing you’re supposed to learn in this life. There will be a peace when you’re doing it. Even though it may be difficult and even thought you may not particularly want to do it, you can recognize it by the peace of the spirit that is within you when you follow the right course.

Unity of Words and Power

Unity of Words and Power

(Transcribed from a posted audio)

I’m speaking to you on the evening of the Wesak Festival. This is one of the three most important festivals of the year in the eyes of the Hierarchy. A reader posted some information on Wesak. I’ll read the first paragraph.

“The Wesak Festival, the great Eastern festival of the Buddha, is known by many as a day of supreme spiritual impact. This Festival is not a commemorative celebration but rather a present, living event, a sacred ceremony which takes place each year between the Buddha, the Christ, and the united spiritual Hierarchy as a blessing is poured forth upon our planet. This ceremony marks the high point of the spiritual year and serves to vitalize the aspiration of all humanity. On this day the forces of enlightenment, which emanate from the heart of God, flow outward into human consciousness.”

That’s a good description of it, I thought.

There are three great festivals established by the Hierarchy which have great purpose behind them. The first one is the full moon of Easter. The second one is Wesak, which is the recent full moon, just past. The last one is World Invocation Day which takes place next May. At that time we’ll be having our Gathering in Texas and those of us who are there will be able to unite together and say the Song and the Great Invocation and attempt to tune into the energies of that day. The great purpose behind these festivals is to unite the world spiritually.

A problem as the Hierarchy see it, is that each religion has its various festivals and celebrations. Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and all the various religions celebrate their festivals and events at different times. The Hierarchy would like to combine all the festivals of all the religions and distill them into three festivals and promote them as a world-wide event. So the vision of the Hierarchy is that in hundreds of years from now almost all the world will celebrate these three festivals as one world spiritual events. This will do much to bring the religions and the peoples of the world together, helping them to forget their differences, to bring peace on Earth, goodwill to men.

The high point of each festival is the exact time of the full moon. As the moon approaches fullness and reflects sunlight on 100% of the surface that we see; as the light of the sun is reflected, it sort of opens a door to the soul of things and allows greater and an easier contact between the Hierarchy and humanity. It’s a symbol where we have the greatest light of the sun reflected by the moon at that time. It’s also a time when our lower bodies are the greatest reflectors of the light of the soul.

As I was reflecting tonight during a meditation with my wife, I sensed a tremendous burst of light descending on the planet. What I sensed is that one of the main keynotes of this Wesak is the first part of the Great Invocation that says: From the point of light within the mind of God, Let Light stream forth into the minds of men, Let Light descend on Earth. The emphasis I sense at this time is “Let Light descend on Earth.” This is appropriate since Buddha was an emissary of light and representative of the Light of God, so to speak. I sense the emphasis right now is then for us to sense the light descending on the Earth.

Even thought the apex of the energy is right at the moment of the full moon, approximately two days before and two days after the power is still strong. So for the next day or two when we say the Great Invocation I think it would be a great idea for us to contemplate and visualize light descending on this planet and feel the light descending upon the Earth.

My wife, Artie, made an interesting comment tonight after we said The Great Invocation. Her comment was that many of the organizations are undergoing a greater light descending upon them. For instance, Enron has had all their problems exposed. The problems of the Catholic Church are being exposed. Light is descending upon different organizations and groups and forcing them examine themselves and restructure things so there will be great improvement. This is because of light descending upon the Earth. The sense I get is that additional light is preparing to descend which will expose even more problems and corruption so that more things can be fixed.

One thing that is stressed to be done at all the festival days is to say The Great Invocation. I’d like to say a few words about it. When DK presented The Great Invocation to the world he, first of all, made the interesting comment that the Hierarchy wasn’t united about giving it out. He said there was somewhat of a disagreement and that some members questioned whether or not we were ready for the powers that would descend upon the Earth because of saying it. Apparently the Christ was in favor of it so everyone went along with supporting the giving out of the invocation. An interesting thing now is that Lucis Trust has made some slight changes in the invocation that I’ll talk about.

Its only natural that people will want to make changes in the wording of almost any type of document from the Constitution to just about anything ever written. No matter how clearly or precise or beautifully something is written, not everyone will think its written or worded in the best way possible. Even though The Great Invocation was translated by a Master, there are still people unhappy with it. One of the main reasons is because of the new political correctness that we find ourselves in. A number of people feel that The Great Invocation is not politically correct. They’ve made a few subtle changes. Let me read the changed version and comment briefly.

“From the point of Light within the mind of God

Let Light stream forth into human minds.”

It used to be worded, “into the minds of men.” Apparently, some people are offended that the word ‘men’ is used since the fairer sex feels left out of that. But of course, when this was given it was understood everywhere that ‘men’ meant humanity as a whole. Here the meaning is basically the same, but for want of a better term, the vibration and impact is different.

An interesting thing about the brotherhood is that they do often speak in the male tense. One thing I found interesting is that DK called Alice A Bailey His brother. He never called her a sister. He always speaks of a brotherhood, not sisterhood. He also called HP Blavatsky His brother. Both of these women seemed to feel honored at being called that. The reason why is that the concept of brotherhood is a lot different than the thought form around the concept of sisterhood. The thought form around sisterhood is women getting together and baking cookies and making quilts and talking about the latest things going on. That may be changing but that is the concept that a lot of people have in their mind when they hear the word sisterhood.

The term brotherhood portrays a vision of people gathering around a table and talking about how to change the world, make things better, creating some new project or something of this nature. They think of brotherly love. I believe the reason the Hierarchy uses the word ‘brotherhood’ is not so much partiality toward the male, but the basic meaning of the word has a high and noble meaning that includes both men and women. This is evidenced in His calling women His brothers also. He even called animals His “little brothers.” I think that’s a cute term.

Now let’s go over the second stanza. Here’s the revised version:

“From the point of love within the heart of God

Let Love stream forth into human hearts

May the coming one return to Earth.”

There are two changes are these. It was the ‘hearts of men’ and for the same reason that we previously talked about, it’s been changed to ‘human hearts’ instead. It keeps the same basic idea. But then it says, “May the coming one return to Earth” and this is a change I have a problem with because the original says “May Christ return to Earth.” When you say, May Christ return to Earth, what do you conjecture up in your mind? You think of a coming Lord, of light and love, a Master, a person on the side of light returning to the Earth to accomplish a great mission. But when you say, may the coming one return to the Earth, what comes to your mind? It could be anyone, even Mickey Mouse. You could have something negative come into your mind, like, perhaps an anti-Christ, a Hitler, some bad dude that may wreak havoc upon the Earth. So I do not like this particular change.

The word, “Christ” is mentioned in the Song of the 144,000 and I have suggested to those who are offended by the word “Christ” that they can use “Son of God.” There are a number of words that could be used for the person who is Jewish or Buddhist or some religion other than Christian. Son of God is one, Krishna is another. They could use Maitreya for the Buddhist, for instance or Imam Mahdi for Islam. All of these religions expect a great master to come. When the great Christ comes He will fulfill the expectations for all of the major religions of the Earth.

So if a person put the name of someone they know into this particular verse, who represents the Christ consciousness or the coming of Christ, then that conjures up in your mind a very positive vibration. But if you say “coming one” and your mind isn’t entirely focused on the light you may slip in a thought of somebody not so desirable coming.

In the third stanza ‘the little wills of men’ is changed to ‘little human wills’.

In the fourth stanza, ‘the race of man’ is changed to ‘human race’.

These are basic changes to eliminate the idea that there’s male domination in the spiritual world. As it was originally given out this really was not a problem because when the word ‘men’ was used it, of course, referred to the human race as a whole – and still does of course, but is now offensive to some.

I want to cover one more item which I hope won’t offend anyone. I think we’re way too sensitive about political correctness. If we’re offended when somebody uses “men” when it means humanity as a whole, I think its maybe a good idea to examine ourselves as to why we’re offended because all of us are incarnated as male and female at different times so the meaning is what is important, not the black and white words in the original.

On the other hand if one sees themselves as having only one life and being eternally male or female then the identity with gender would be strong, causing them to have greater reason to be offended at gender related phrases. This thinking does not affect students of the Ancient Wisdom as much as orthodox thinkers.

There’s one more problem I have with the changes they’ve made. If it was originally written this way I’d have no major problem with any of the changes except for ‘the coming one’; I don’t like that idea. I think either Christ or son of God should be in there and that would be more appropriate but one of the problems is, with making a change, is we now have two versions. The answer or comment I’m giving on this would be similar to what I gave on what I told a member about changing the words to the Song of the 144,000. Someone had approached her with the idea of changing several of the words to make them less offensive. One of the problems we have if we do that is that we end up with two or three versions and this divides unity. If everyone is reading exactly the same thing and creating exactly the same thought form then the power of that union produces much more energy than people saying a half a dozen different versions, creating a slightly different thought form and energy around the statement.

I’ve met the person who wanted to change the words to the Song of the 144,000 and she’s nice and I’m sure has a very good intent, but several words bothered her. One was the word ‘Father’ which she wanted to change to God. Her second was using ‘you’ and yours’ in reference to God. She found that very limiting and again wanted to use the word ‘God’ instead. So using her idea I changed the Lord’s Prayer in accordance with this. Let me read how that would sound. Instead of:

“Our Father which art in heaven” it reads “Our God in heaven, hallowed be God’s name, God’s kingdom come, God’s will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for God is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever, Amen.”

The meaning is basically the same but the beauty isn’t quite there. And, if we had two versions of the Lord’s Prayer circulating throughout the centuries, one problem would be that both of them would be memorized much less and said much less and one original. Instead we had had one main version of the Lord’s Prayer in circulation for all these years and that’s caused many people to memorize it and create the same thought form around this. It’s become a beautiful prayer that’s been implemented in the consciousness of humanity and has accomplished much more good than people realize.

One of the statements of DK was that he wanted The Great Invocation to eventually become as famous as the Lord’s Prayer. He said that if this would happen, great good would be the result. But if we have two versions of The Great Invocation, which version will people memorize? If they memorize both versions then when any group of people gather together and say it, half the people will have one version memorized and the other half will have the other version memorized. When they try to say it together you’ll have a cacophony. It will sound strange and diminish the thought form.

The first version was written by a Master and I think it would be good to keep that first version despite its slight controversy of political incorrectness. Anyone who is close to attempting to discern the light can understand what DK meant when He said “the race of men.” We know he meant everybody. If the females were in charge, it may have been the race of women. Of course, we realize the word “men” includes both men and women. The trouble with the word “women” is that “women” doesn’t generally include men. In the Hierarchy the word “brotherhood” includes brothers and sisters.

So, overall, let me make this suggestion and remind everyone that The Great Invocation was written/translated by a Master. It is actually very ancient and was translated into English by DK. When I read through it I can’t really improve on the wording as long as we understand that “men” means men and women. I would recommend that we all say the original. If for not other reason, to keep the unity of thought so that when we get together and say it we won’t have people saying different wordings at the same time creating distraction as we’re focusing on the meaning of the invocation.

Somebody suggested that I say The Great Invocation and also the Song of the 144,000 on this recording so that people could say it along with me.

The Great Invocation…I always say a long OM at first.

OM

“From the point of Light in the Mind of God

Let light stream for into the minds of men.

Let light descend on Earth.”

I always have a silence between the stanzas where I contemplate the meaning of the words I just said. It’s not a bad idea to sound a silent OM. A silent OM is something a lot of people aren’t aware of. You feel the sound of the OM being sounded throughout your body, mind and soul, so to speak. So in between the stanzas is a good time to sound, or feel, the OM.

“From the point of Love within the Heart of God

Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.

May Christ return to Earth.”

Here it is important to visualize the Lord of Light and Love returning. However you see Him, visualize Him.

“From the center where the Will of God is known

Let purpose guide the little wills of men-

The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

“From the center which we call the race of men

Let the Plan of Love and Light work out.

And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

“Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.”

Here I sound another audible OM.

OM

The often, I will end it with a series of approximately 12 OMs.

OM OM OM OM OM OM OM OM OM OM OM

Now we’ll go to the Song of the 144,000 and follow a similar process. We’ve probably done enough OMs to raise our vibration up so I’ll just sound a couple of short ones at the beginning and end.

OM

We thank you Father that you have revealed to us your universal protective light.

That within this light is complete protection from all destructive forces.

That the Holy Sprit of your presence permeates us in this light

And wherever we will the light to descend.

We thank you Father that you fill us with your protective fires of love.

That within this love is complete protection from all destructive thoughts and feelings.

That the consciousness of Christ is lifted up in us in this love

And wherever we will the love to be enflamed.

We thank you Father that you are in us and we are in You.

That through us Your love is sent forth on wings of power.

That you purpose is accomplished on Earth as it is in heaven.

That through us your light and love and power is manifest to all the sons and daughters of mankind.

OM

It’s important that we do keep the song as uniform as possible just as we keep The Great Invocation as uniform as possible. So when groups meet in the future; (and in the future there will eventually be large groups of people saying both The Great Invocation and the Song of the 144,000) that when they meet they should say the same words at the same time. And also when they’re not meeting in the physical because even when we’re not together in physically, if we’re saying the same things we have a similar thought form emerging and are creating greater power behind this.

Remember, the purpose of the Song of the 144,000 is to provide protection and power for the lights to be able to do their work without being destroyed by the powers of darkness. In almost every age past the workers for the light have been thwarted and often destroyed and prevented from their missions. After Christ they were fed to the lions, they were dragged through the streets, they were beheaded. The purpose of the song in this age is that the powers of darkness will be brought to a bare minimum of damage. So all they’ll be able to do is usher in a lot of complaining but they will have no power to stop the workers of the light. That doesn’t mean we won’t have problems. There are problems in accomplishing any great work. In bringing in the new age and establishing peace on Earth, goodwill to men is going to be a Herculean task. But it is in the Plan that this task is to be actually accomplished this time and not thwarted. The vision is that the ultimate success will be the result.

Karma, False Christs and More

Karma, False Christs and More

Question: “If we did have World War III and most of the humans were destroyed, does that mean this is karma for all these people and will they eventually come back in a new world born as cleansed souls?”

When we make mistakes we always have to come back and go through the learning process that karma teaches us until we achieve relative perfection. One of the best examples of this is the movie, “Groundhog Day”. What Bill Murray did in living that Groundhog Day over and over is an interesting correspondence to what we do with life. For him it was just a day but with us it’s an entire life. As you remember, Bill Murray lived that day over and over and over until he finally got it perfect. When he got it perfect then he was allowed to wake up and enter into the real world. That’s an interesting correspondence to the way reality is. We live our lives over and over and over until we achieve an amount of perfection that coming back won’t really help that much after that perfection is achieved. Then we can enter into a greater reality.

As far as more mass destructions go, more karma is at play here than just individual karma. Individual karma affects us within our own lives and within our own sphere but we as a unit are connected through our group life through our families, our nations, our groups, the whole planet and so on. The various groups and nations of which we are members of have their own karma. Even though we may be as innocent as the driven snow as an individual, we are subject to national karma, group karma, and the karma of the whole human race. There is even karma beyond that, the whole solar system and beyond. We are subject to these things just like one of the cells in your body may be performing its job fine but if you were to get into a car wreck you’re going to affect the productive cells as well as the non-productive cells. All the cells in your body will be affected. There are certain collective events that happen on the earth that will affect everyone and that’s due to what we call group karma. Group karma is where the whole group is affected and it’s different than individual karma.

As far as World War III goes, I certainly agee that Jesus is not coming to destroy, but to save. This is an extremely important point: The midpoint between the Piscean and the Aquarian Age was 1945, right at the end of World War II. So we’ve actually swung over the balance since 1945. We’ve just got our big toe into the Aquarian Age and its going to take another 150 years or so until we’re entirely in it but the point of tension was World War II. If we do our job correctly that will be the major point of tension. There will be other points of tension but that is like the point where the Aquarian Age is born. If we do our job, the doomsday of World War III where 90% of the population is destroyed doesn’t have to happen. It could happen if we let it and don’t do our part in making sure that terrorists are dominated and not allowed to wreak the havoc that they desire to do.

Question: Did Jesus take bad Karma with Him when He was crucified? Also, the Apostles? Did the victims of 9-11 take bad karma with them?

Actually on an individual basis, Jesus had worked off His karma and didn’t have any karma to take with Him. As I wrote the other day, He did this as an act of service, went through the crucifixion for a purpose other than paying off karma. On the other hand, the world itself had a heavy weight of karma at that age. When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane He faced the dweller on the threshold for the entire planet, which you could say is the sum total of all negative karma. So when He struggled in the Garden and bled from his pores, as the scripture says, He struggled with the world karma and in that way took upon Himself the sins of the world in the sense that He swung the balance of the world karma. So, instead of the world karma engulfing us, it began to lessen from that point on. Simply put, Jesus initiated a new cause creating new effects.

As far as the Apostles go, most of them did have karma to pay off and they paid a lot of it off in service. When they taught the teachings of Christ, spread them and elevated hope in mankind; this was a means for them for paying off their negative karma from their past.

As far as the people from 9-11, some of them, quite a number of them, had significant karma that they paid off in the disaster. There were probably a handful of people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Quite often, the disasters that we’re caught in are a means of us paying off karma and learning our lessons. Those who caused the disaster of 9-11 will, eventually come back and be reborn, and they will have some crazy suicide person interfere with their life and family in the way that they had done so that they can learn their lessons, unless, of course, they choose the path of service as the Apostles and other great people in history have done. Through service, remember, we can pay off karma. Service is a cause which alters the course of causes past.

Speaking of prophets true and false, I did mention that there are prophecies and predictions in the Bible that one could argue may not have come true. (For instance, the one that seems to indicate that Jesus would be married) A reader points out that maybe Jesus was married. We’ve talked about that possibility in the past. That’s the difference between a true prophet and a false prophet…With a true prophet, even his questionable prophecies, presents the possibility of a true interpretation. Whereas the false prophets will prophesize specific things like the world is going to end on July 10th or something like that. And July 10th comes and it doesn’t happen and they were just flat out wrong. There’s no interpretation involved.

One of my main points that I was trying to make about prophecy is that no prophet in recorded history that we know of has been 100% accurate in an iron clad way. Some make that claim but even then we look at their prophecies and it takes a little creative interpretation to put a positive swing on them. What few people pointed out is the difficulty in making accurate predictions is entered in because of free will. Because we have our free will, making 100% iron clad, specific predictions, naming dates and things like this is almost impossible in many instances. One way it can be done is if a Greater Life makes a decision that something is going to happen and then coordinates events and makes that thing happen. If this isn’t going on, making exact specific predictions is almost always doomed to failure. Every person I’ve ever seen, for instance that has read the Bible and made specific predictions from it, have always failed. I haven’t seen one guy get it right yet.

The other way to maker accurate predictions is through the study of the Law of Cycles which h is based on the idea that history and events repeat themselves with minor changes. Accurate general predictions can be made from this law, but exact dates are difficult to conjecture.

So, really the false prophets of our age are those who go around making all types of specific predictions, which turn out to be blatantly wrong, then they make more predictions and they’re wrong again. Then they say things have changed and that’s why they’re wrong, or people repented or whatever. So they keep going over and over and making them wrong time and time again. These people are making predictions which do not materialize, especially the prophets of doom. They make wrong predictions then they make more predictions and they’re wrong again. Sooner or later, their followers need to wake up and see their track record is not that great. If you see a person who is making two out of three predictions that are correct, then he is probably getting a certain degree of inspiration and understands the law of cycles and is doing the right thing. We might be able to call this type of person a true prophet. A still better definition is that a true prophet is one who has soul contact and speaks from that context.

Question: What happened to Jesus between the ages of 12 and 30?

I believe this is fairly accurately represented in the Aquarian Gospel by Levi. You can download that free from the web. Just do a search on Google.

Question: “What happened to Jesus after the resurrection? The reader points out that there are different accounts of the post-resurrection years of Jesus. Some have Him settling down in Kashmir, His tomb is said to be there. Then again, others say he settled down in Japan and His tomb is said to be there. Both can’t be right, can they? Then there are accounts of Him being on the American hemisphere, like the Book of Mormon, for instance. I don’t have a full knowledge of what happened to Him after the resurrection except Jesus was the one who took the resurrected body. It was His body to begin with so He was the one who occupied it. During that three year period, when the Holy Ghost descended upon Him, the Christ came into Him and the two entities, Jesus and the Christ, shared the body for three years. After the resurrection they separated and Jesus occupied the body. The Christ has the capacity to manifest a body at will.”

What happened to Jesus in the resurrected body is somewhat of a mystery and I’ve been told that we don’t have the whole story. DK happened to say that He eventually became The Apollonius of Tyana, which is somewhat of a mystery because Apollonius was born 0 BC, the same period that Jesus was supposed to have been born. There are some followers of Apollonius that tell you that Apollonius was actually Jesus. So we have a lot of interesting legends on Jesus after the resurrection. As I get any further light on this I’ll be happy to share it with you.

So we pretty much covered the prediction that Christ made about the false prophets. He also predicted that there would be false Christs, that many would come in His name, saying “I am Christ” and deceives many. Who are these individuals that are the false Christs? Do we see a lot of people out there claiming to be Christ? Not that many. There’s an oddball now and then that thinks He’s the second coming but there aren’t that many. He points out in His prophecy that there will be many. Now, how has this been fulfilled?

First we must ask the question who is there out there who claims to be Christ? Well, we see a lot of people telling us that the Christ is within them and that they are Christ as much as anyone else. There’s another teaching out there which is quite interesting. Many people have the idea that the entity who is Christ won’t come again – that His coming is merely through us recognizing Christ is within. When we recognize that Christ is within, this is the second coming of Christ. This teaching is actually the teaching of the false coming of Christ. People coming in the name of Christ saying, this is the coming of Christ, they shall deceive many. They’re saying the entity that was Christ will not come. This is actually the fulfilling of the prophecy Jesus made.

There is an interesting scripture on this in First John, Chapter 4, beginning with verse 3.

“And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ will come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ wherefore you heard that it should come and even now it already is in the world.”

Now the regular born-again Christian says, “see, you have to confess that Jesus is the Christ or you are the Anti-Christ.” But when you read this in Greek, you get a different twist on it. In the Greek it says this, “And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is comING in the flesh.” In most Bibles it translates it as ‘has come’ or ‘is come in the flesh”.

When we translate the phrase accurately we to “Jesus Christ is comING in the flesh (meaning a future return of the actual entity) we can read the predictions of the Christ with a real expectation of a visitation from the Master. Those who deny this possibility have the spirit of Anti-Christ and are teaching of a false Christ and incomplete or false return.

So the Anti-Christ teaching, in other words anti or against Christ teaching, is against the idea that the entity who is Christ will actually come in a body, in the flesh and teach again among mankind. He may do this a number of different ways. Either in a body of His own on in a divine possession the way He did last time through Jesus. But He will definitely come. The false Christs or those that deny this possibility will say this coming of Christ is a nebulous awareness of Christ consciousness or the Christ within.

They’re using a true principle to distort things because there is a Christ within and we must find that within ourselves so that we can manifest Christ the same way Jesus did. But one thing that is overlooked is that there is an entity that occupies the position of the Christ. That Entity was the one that taught, in ancient Israel and was crucified. So that person, as an entity, if He decides to come again (which He’s already made that decision) who are we to say that He can’t? And yet there are many, and these are the false Christs, who are the ones that are saying that Christ cannot come again. They think, “He’s only going to come the way I have fixed in my mind and that’s by recognizing Christ consciousness.” As I said, we must recognize the Christ consciousness but we must also recognize that there is an entity that occupies the position of the Christ for the whole planet and the second coming is when He will make a manifestation of some kind. All of the details are not given. The time is not given and no one knows for sure, but He has promised to show up. It will be an interesting time when He does.

There’s even mystery behind this. We’re told He may come like a thief in the night. We’re also told that He will come back in the same way that we saw Him go and there were only about twelve or so people who saw Him go so when He appears will there be only a small number of people that will be aware when He first shows up? There are a lot of mysteries around this; perhaps the most mysterious doctrine in the religious world.

Imperfect Human Teachers

Imperfect Human Teachers

An LDS reader made a post on his website giving a negative and distorted view on H. P. Blavatsky. This was my response:

I checked out your page on Blavatsky and do not have time for a full comment – which would take a long serious of posts as I did earlier on Alice A. Bailey. I felt it important to paint a clear picture of the writings of Djwhal Khul through Alice A. Bailey for I believe they come directly from a master and are very accurate.

One thing that many fail to understand about Blavatsy is what the core of her mission was. It was not to present truth in its purity as was the case of Alice A. Bailey in writing the actual words of a Master.

Instead her mission was to stimulate interest in the teachings of the East and the search for higher truth. To do this she was to search out many ancient writings, fables, legends and teachings completely unknown to many in the West and present them to us. She quotes from hundreds of obscure sources that were previously unavailable for our consideration.

Now just because she quotes from an ancient fable or story does not mean that the story is literally true, but the idea is this. There is a lot of truth in many ancient fables, especially those from differing areas of the earth that have elements in common.

For instance, the American Indians have legends about a great flood which have elements of truth in them. On the other hand, some of their legends are pretty bizarre, if taken literally. and some religionists would think they are inspired straight from the devil himself. But such is not the case. Many of the fables that we do not understand would be seen in a different light if we could understand how they really originated. In most cases we would see they originated around some point of truth.

  1. P. Blavatsky did her job successfully in bringing many ancient writings (however imperfect) to light and then leaving it up the souls of men to glean what truth they can from them.

She was far from perfect, but then so was Joseph Smith. For instance, HPB saw the doctrine of plural marriage as a device that would enslave the souls of women and hinder their progression. On this point I think she supported the principle of free agency more than the Mormon brethren did.

There is a major problem with looking for red flags and then allowing the red flag to dictate to us that everything a certain person does or says is evil. This is rarely the case. In most instances teachers have their flaws and the disciples must examine all things in the light of the soul and then discern piece by piece.

The problem with the anti Mormons is that they do not do this. They will, for instance, find out that Joseph was a Mason and that some Masonic leaders believe that Lucifer is God so they think that everything Joseph taught, including the Book of Mormon, came from the devil himself.

Do not make the same mistake as do those who condemn Joseph Smith. Just as the imperfect prophet Joseph completed a great mission, so did H. P. Blavatsky.

Part of the problem in examining her works is that many are not reading them correctly.

His post says that H. P. Blavatsky teaches that the crucifixion was a derailment of the mission of Jesus, but she did not say this. Instead she said “he would rather have lived to continue what he considered his mission.”

This is correct for the preference for the disciple Jesus who shared a body with the Christ, was to stay and build the kingdom. The Christ within knew that the time for this was not yet to be, but Jesus maintained hope until the end that a way could be prepared to live and establish the kingdom predicted by Daniel. He was told no, that he must go ahead with the sacrifice and it was so disturbing to him that he prayed to the Father to remove the cup. When he was told this could not be done he reluctantly submitted, having faith in God that the end would justify the delay of the physical manifestation of the Kingdom.

Thus the crucifixion did not derail the mission of Jesus, but was a crucial part of it.

I’ll cover one more point. An LDS reader is concerned that H. P. Blavatsky deifies entities who were denied bodies, but Djwhal Khul clarifies the punishment of the third of the hosts of heaven. These writings are in harmony with the LDS scriptures, but with additional details.

He quotes the following from an ancient manuscript:

The Now becomes the time that was. The aeon mergeth into space. The Word of Motion hath been heard. The Word of Love succeedeth. The Past controlled the form. The Now evolves the life. The Day that is to be sounds forth the Word of Power.

The form perfected and the life evolved hold the third secret of the greater Wheel. It is the hidden mystery of living motion. The mystery, lost in the Now but known to the Lord of Cosmic Will.

The thirty thousand million Watchers refused to heed the call. (30 billion out of 90 billion) “We enter not the forms,” they said, “until the seventh aeon.” The twice thirty thousand million (60 Billion) hearkened to the call and took the forms designed.

The rebellious ones laughed within themselves, and sought pralayic peace until the seventh aeon. But the seven great Lords called to the greater Chohans, and with the eternal Lhas of the third cosmic heaven entered into debate.

The dictum then went forth. The laggards in the highest sphere heard it echo through the scheme. “Not till the seventh aeon, but at the fourteenth seventh will the chance again come round. The first shall be the last and time be lost for aeons.”

The obedient Sons of Mind connected with the Sons of Heart, and evolution spiralled on its way. The Sons of Power stayed in their appointed place, though cosmic karma forced a handful to join the Sons of Heart.

At the fourteenth seventh aeon, the Sons of Mind and Heart, absorbed by endless flame, will join the Sons of Will, in manvantaric manifestation. Three times the wheel will turn.

At the centre stand the buddhas of activity, helped by the lords of love, and following their twofold work will come the radiant lords of power.

The buddhas of creation from out the past have come. The buddhas of love are gathering now. The buddhas of will at the final turn of the third major wheel will flash into being. The end will then be consummated.

From The Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Pages 25-27

And concerning there being more than one entity who occupies the position of Christ Joseph Smith verified this by saying:

“Jesus is one of a grand order of Saviors. Every world has its distinctive Savior and every dispensation its Christ.” Women in Mormondom by Edward W. Tullidge; Page 192.

I personally do not feel the need to defend the wholeness of the complete teachings of any teacher, even that of Jesus.

For instance, I would not use the phrase “if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off.” It is not something I would use in the promotion of any truth I can presently think of and is too stark for my tastes. This does certainly not stop me from using the other great words of Jesus.

I am repulsed with the idea that God would command the ancient Israelites to destroy the men, women and children of enemy towns, but were allowed to take their valuables and keep the pretty maids for their own carnal pleasure as slaves.

The fact that these the lunar lords guided Israel in this lower way does not make me throw out all the writings in the Old Testament for I have quoted hundreds of them in my writings in the support of truth that I have received.

I am prepared to defend any teaching I write that is given to me through the Spirit of Truth. Bring up anything in my many posts and I will defend them or elaborate. But, I am not responsible for the writings and possible errors of other teachers from the past.

True and False Prophets

True and False Prophets

Let me emphasize that all cause is the result of some decision made my some intelligence. A positive or negative karma is merely the result of an initiated cause that has not yet played itself out.

The Question: Who are the false Christs and false prophets in the world today? Why does Jesus say “believe it not” when we encounter those who proclaim that Christ is here or there?

First, let us ask who the false prophets are?

Quite simply a false prophet is one who makes prophesies, or predictions (supposedly through supernatural means) that do not come true.

Several talked about Benjamin Crème as a false prophet. This has some validity because he has made a number of false prophesies.

Somewhere around 1988 he came up to Boise to give a lecture. I thought I’d try and be open minded and listen to him. I was surprised to hear him declare boldly that Christ was going to appear in about two months from the date of the lecture. Christ was going to appear on television and his presence would be so powerful that the whole world would just know who he was and accept him.

Well two months passed and this glorious event did not happen. Later I heard he moved the event forward, but it has now been over twelve years (as of 2002) and there has been no mass TV appearance of the Christ with every eye recognizing Him.

Hundreds of false prophesies have been made in connection with the Second Coming and so far they have all been incorrect. The amazing thing is that when Crème or any other prophet makes an exact prediction that turns out to be obviously false the followers seem to be unmoved and continue their allegiance no matter what.

I am one of the few I know of that has made any correct prediction around the return of the Christ. Way back in the 1970’s I predicted that he would not come by the turn of the century as many expected and it would be some time after this date before we would see him. Then amidst the great concern over Y2K I predicted that it would turn out to be no big deal. Others were predicting doom from planet X and I said nothing would happen on the predicted dates.

In fact through my over 1600 posts I have made only a few predictions and none so far have been incorrect. Why do I not go out on a limb and predict exact dates of doom as numerous other prophets on the internet do?

For one thing, as I have written previously, it is almost impossible to make exact predictions of coming events unless some great life with power to control the events makes a decision to make sure the event will materialize as expected. Exact future events can only be predicted around true principles, namely, previously made decisions and the law of cycles.

The false prophet feels that he can receive accolades from the masses by making predictions and if 10% or so come true he can emphasize these and claim to be the mouthpiece for the Almighty.

There are many who believe the Bible and other scriptures to be the one infallible source of true prophesy, yet even here one has to stretch the imagination to justify this.

For instance, Isaiah predicted that the Christ would live to “see his seed, he shall prolong his days.” Isaiah 53:10

Jesus said 2000 years ago that he would “come quickly” (Rev 22:7), but has not shown up yet.

He indicated that his generation would not pass until he appears in the heavens. Matt 24:34.

Paul said he expected to be “alive” when Christ descended from the heavens. I Thess 4:15

Many believers have strange convoluted explanations for these and other predictions and still claim the Bible is infallible. The truth is that the Bible or any other book is only infallible when the student reads and contemplates in the light of the Living Holy Spirit, which is the only thing that can bring dead pages of a book to life.

Nostradamus is famous for making hundreds of predictions that many claim have come true, yet the writings are so obscure that they only seem true after the fact. So far I have not seen even one person use his writings to pinpoint an event before it actually happens. In my life I have seen dozens of attempts and they have all failed . I have also seen dozens of attempts to predict a future event using the Bible which also have all failed.

Joseph Smith is the most famous American Prophet and made quite a few predictions. From my studies I would guess that about 80-90% of his prophesies either came true or could yet come true. Even though he made several very impressive prophesies which materialized he also made several that failed. For instance, he stated in a revelation given in 1832 that his generation shall not all pass away until a temple be built in Jackson County Missouri. (See D&C 84:5).

A hundred and seventy years have passed (far more than a generation) and no temple has been built.

From my studies of the Bailey writings it seems that Djwhal Khul’s prophesies are much above average in reliability also reaching a similar success rate. He made an impressive prediction about atomic energy in 1925. Note that some has come true, but the full use of this energy is yet to come.

“First, physical plane scientists will be able to speak with authority anent the fourth ether, even though they may not recognise it as the lowest of the four etheric grades of substance: its sphere of influence and its utilisation will be comprehended, and “force” as a factor in matter, or the electrical manifestation of energy within definite limits, will be as well understood as is hydrogen at this time. Indications of this can already be seen in the discovery of radium, and the study of radioactive substances and of electronic demonstration. This knowledge will revolutionise the life of man; it will put into his hands that which occultists call “power of the fourth order” (on the physical plane). It will enable him to utilise electrical energy for the regulation of his everyday life in a way as yet incomprehensible; it will produce new methods of illuminating, and of heating the world at a small cost and with practically no initial outlay.” Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Page 428

Even though Djwhal Khul made a number of impressive predictions there are still several that demand creative interpretation to accept them as accurate.

Does this mean that all prophets, even Jesus were false prophets?

Not necessarily. Note that the above mentioned prophets did not speak of specific or exact dates and times, but spoke in words that could have more than one meaning.

For instance when Jesus said he would come quickly one could assume that he may wait for 2000 years (a long time) but then show up suddenly.

On the other hand, in this present time period we have hundreds of prophets making many specific prophesies and naming dates. I have followed hundreds of predictions over the years and so far have not seen even one that proved accurate.

The real false prophets do not have a 90% accuracy level, or even 10%, but are accurate no more than is a stopped clock – which is correct twice a day. These guys are no more in touch with a true source of knowledge than are the guys betting on horses down at Joe’s Bar and Grill.

Even true prophets are not infallible, but are impressive enough that the inspiration is obvious to the sincere student. On the other hand , the false prophet is extremely conspicuous to the unbiased observer and his words will fail time and time again.

Another mark of the false prophet is that his predictions will usually be around end of the world stuff, doom, gloom and destruction.

True prophets will not ignore peril, but will often speak of positive and hopeful events on the horizon.

If the appearance of many false prophets is a sign of the coming of Christ then his presence must be very near indeed.

Conflicting Teachings

Conflicting Teachings

Comment: It seems that the teachings of DK and the LDS and Biblical scriptures on the Jews are in conflict with each other. Which is correct?

Some teachers in the East make this demand of students. They tell them to pick one teacher and one main philosophy from which to learn.

Why?

Because, even though there are many diverse teachers and philosophies containing much light and truth, each tends to present that truth with a different slant with different words and a different approach.

The concern of the teacher then is that if his student does not focus on first learning all the basics of teacher A and moves on to teacher B that teacher B will seem to be at odds and contradictory to teacher A. Perhaps both teachers will seem equally credible and because of the seeming contradiction the student winds up rejecting both of them. This is counterproductive because both teachers are on the same side, but have different backgrounds and different approaches.

Many of us realize that the religions are just kindergartens, but even so there are many who need to move through them, and for such individuals it is necessary for them to have a one track mindset until they learn the needed lessons. If a person were to attend the LDS church half the time and the Jehovah witnesses the other half he would soon self destruct.

But, when the person graduates from kindergarten and moves on to grade school in spirituality, he can look at the various religions and begin to synthesize them without scrambling his brain.

Djwhal Khul is an oriental trained after the manner of the Tibetans and his way of looking at things is much different than ancient prophets from thousands of years in the past.

Even so, when all is synthesized and the whole is seen, there is very little, if any contradiction.

Here is what DK actually said in November 1948:

“The national thoughtform of any nation is necessarily a powerful entity. You can observe an instance of this in the thoughtform of the Jews which is the most powerful of all because they are not a nation in any true sense but an ancient religion; they have resurrected something which has been dead for many, many centuries and are now attempting to call it a nation. It is as if the ancient Incas and Aztecs suddenly announced themselves as nations in South America and sought to gain recognition; they were great nations and as civilized as were the Jews, possessing a great and beautiful religion. There is always trouble when that which should be past and gone seeks recognition along ancient lines, and this is a lesson which the Zionists must perforce learn.” Discipleship in the New Age, Vol 2, Page 616

Notice that he was not so much writing against the gathering as against the idea of establishing “recognition along ancient lines.”

When Israel rejected the higher law presented by Moses they built and worshipped the golden calf. The world was about to move into the age of Aries and the Israelites were determined to remain behind in Taurus, the bull, or calf. Even in the days of the early Christians, coins have been found linking the Jews to the symbol of Taurus or the bull, indicating that thousands of years after Moses their consciousness still had not progressed to Aries, even though the earth was then in Pisces.

Now even the Christian scriptures agree with this assessment and note that the Jews (as a whole) rejected and still reject the higher law and dispensation of Christ and remain stuck in the past.

Both Djwhal Khul and the Christian scriptures agree that the Jews are stuck in the past with their belief system and need to move into the present. I think they have made some progress over the past couple hundred years and will soon make a leap forward when their true Messiah comes.

In the meantime, many of the problems we see centered around the Jewish nation is due to the idea of the reestablishing the ancient religion instead of moving ahead to one more geared to modern society. While it is true that some Jews are avant guard thinkers, many do want to see a return to the old ways of doing things, even animal sacrifice.

In many ways the Arabs have the same problem so we have an immovable force meeting an irresistible object.

On the other hand, now Israel has been established, they, as a nation, must be judged by their current actions and not the ancient past. In most cases the Muslim nations, and the Palestinians, have drawn first blood and the violence done by Israel has been in reaction to that.

If there is not a first aggression there will not be a second. Therefore, the first aggression must be condemned much more strongly than a second, for few people or nations can resist reacting to a first aggression. On the other hand, to be a first aggressor requires a mean, deluded or warped spirit.

Initiating Cause

A reader quotes my words from a previous post: “There are times when a wrong is committed toward an individual that was not deserved by anything he did in his past. When this happens the person will in some future time have a similar right or good event happen to him which will compensate, thus serving the demands of justice.”

Comment: This above statement seems to be out of tune with the law of cause and effect. You say there is NO thing that happens without cause and no cause that goes unnoticed without effect. Isn’t your above statement saying that there may well be an effect on a person that he has not deserved from any past? How can this be?

JJ Response: Yes, there are some negative effects that happen to individuals that are not deserved because of some past action. As I said, when this happens other events are set in motion that will eventually balance things out.

Jesus, for instance did not deserve to be crucified because of any personal karma due.

The scriptures tell us why he did submit:

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb 12:2

So, instead of being forced into pain Jesus chose it because of “the joy that was set before him.”

Many disciples endure a lot of suffering and conflict, not because of karma due, but in order to experience the greater joy of service.

In addition to this there are times that ordinary people get in the way of negative events, not because of debts that are due and not because of personal choice. Karma creates a magnetic force that draws events in such a way that most people get what they deserve, but because of free will this does not work out with perfect justice within short increments of time, such as a single lifetime. In the long run perfection is achieved, however.

For instance the magnetism set up may cause a burglar to gravitate toward a homeowner who needs to suffer the results of past misdeeds. Even so, the burglar still has free will and may resist the “force” and pick on an innocent homeowner.

Does this mean that the innocent person is a victim of an event that had no cause?

No.

All cause is initiated by the decision of some intelligence of some entity somewhere. The burglar thus initiated a cause against an innocent person, but also initiates a debt to that person that will be paid with interest in one form or another.

There is a delusionary doctrine circulating almost universally that says, “everything is as it should be.”

There are many things not as they should be in between the eternities, just as there are many strokes not as they should be in the painting of a master as it is being created. But he eventually corrects the undesirable strokes and in the end only the perfect results of the good strokes remain. In the finished product the bad strokes are as if they have never been, except in the memory of the master.

If Leonardo Da Vinci had accepted his imperfect strokes and colors as part of “everything as it should be” the Mona Lisa would have been the Moaning Lisa and no masterpiece would have been possible.

The Jews and Prophecy

The Jews and Prophecy

Karma is more than blind cause and effect. It is intelligence working with cause to produce an effect in the direction of the “dominating good which lies behind all that God has made.” On the other hand, without cause and effect there is no karma, for all karma is potential effects, waiting to materialize.

As I said, the bowling ball awaiting to hit the pins is a symbol of karma. The awaiting effect of knocking down pins exists as only stored intelligently directed energy. The bowler is the intelligence directing the cause and the (hopeful) strike will be the intelligent effect.

A mindlessly thrown bowling ball may technically be called karma, but not karma as we generally use and understand it. Karma as taught in the various religions is the intelligent working out of cause in order to create a desired effect.

We can ignite gasoline (cause) and it can blow up in our face. But we can also add our intelligence to cause and ignite it under controlled circumstances and use this energy to drive our cars to any pinpoint destination desired.

The soul and other higher lives such as the Lords of Karma attempt to make lemonade out of lemons and take what seems to be adverse causes and direct them (karma) toward an end that will be to the benefit of all. Some of the players in this process, taken in by the stream of energy, enter kicking and screaming, but when the end is achieved and vision is acquired, they would have had it no other way.

Comment: Can you tell us how the LDS teachings on the three kingdoms in the afterlife it in with new are or Ancient Wisdom teachings?

The telestial world of LDS teachings corresponds to the physical/etheric worlds we see with physical and etheric vision.

The terrestrial world corresponds to the astral world with its subdivisions along with the lower mental.

This astral world is composed of “emotional matter” which matter is controlled and manipulated through our feeling nature, our ideals and dreams of self interest and motive – good and bad.

The celestial world is the highest in the worlds of form and is composed of higher “mental matter” which takes form and is manipulated by pure thought. This mental world reflects the light of the Solar Lords through the soul and thus the higher three worlds in this realm reveal the light of the sun or “cosmic fire.”

Way back in 1978 (when I was still in the Mormon Church) I wrote a paper on the three kingdoms that got me in trouble with the authorities. I’ll include this in a future post for the LDS readers and others who may be curious. Keep in mind that my writing style was geared to a much different audience and time than my present posts.

I haven’t left the group with a question for a while. Let us consider this scripture:

Matt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Matt 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Matt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Matt 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

Matt 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Matt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

If we read this in connection with the Book of Daniel, which also covers the period of tribulation it indicates the tribulation has special reference to the Jewish people. Their period of greatest tribulation was during World War II when six million of them were methodically put to death by Hitler, and none of them would have been saved if the Allies had not cut short the Nazi plans.

The scripture then indicates that after this tribulation (World War II) that “many” (see verse 11) false prophets and false Christ shall arise. Since 1945 we have indeed seen a few who could be called false prophets and fewer still who claim to be the Second Coming of Christ. Are we missing something here?

Who are the false Christs and false prophets in the world today? Why does Jesus say “believe it not” when we encounter those who proclaim that Christ is here or there?

The Return of The Jews

Comment: Have you read Ch. 157 in the Aquarian Gospel? (No arguing over translations needed for the English speaking) It’s pretty much the only chapter in the book relating to prophesy, and it comes from the mouth of Jesus. When I read it about 5 months ago I got a very strong feeling we were in for the end of Jerusalem in the near-future.

I recently re-read it in light of current events and funnily enough couldn’t quite understand the strength of my former feeling which must not have been based so much on the words as something else that I was picking up. Whatever, I trust my hunches, and wouldn’t even be surprised if Israel got nuked or something. I’d appreciate your thoughts if you’re willing. I’m praying for peace and doing all I can to have it pervade all my own actions, thinking and relationships, in the hope that it’s catching!

JJ: I just reread it. The destruction of Jerusalem mentioned there happened way back in the first century when the Romans destroyed the temple and scattered the Jews. I don’t believe the Aquarian Gospel makes a specific prediction about the current fate of Jerusalem except to say that at the end of the age mankind will gather in a great war.

Some have expressed the belief that the big war is yet to come but consider this.

The predictions of the Second Coming in Matthew 24 refer to signs of his coming at the end of the “world.”

“World” in the King James is translated from two different words. One means Cosmos or “system of things” and the other comes from the Greek word AION which means “an age” a definite period of time, such as an astrological age.

The world for “world” in Matthew 24 is derived from AION.

That this refers to an astrological age is verified in the chapter mentioned (Chapter 157) verse 29 which talks about the new age:

“And then the man who bears the pitcher will walk forth across an arc of heaven; the sign and signet of the son of man will stand forth in the eastern sky.”

The man bearing the pitcher is a symbol of the sign of Aquarius.

The signs therefore at the end of the Piscean age and the beginning of the Aquarian age would have reached their highest intensity around 1945 for that was the midpoint between the ages. Even though we shall continue to have growing pains as we move into the new age, the fact is that the end of the “world” (AION – age) has come and gone and the greatest Armageddon at the end of this world/age that Jesus talked about was World War II. Any other great conflicts (which are possible, but do not have to be) belong to the world/age to come as it was expressed in the scriptures.

A study of my writings in the archives will reveal that many of the prophecies to take place before the coming of Christ did happen during the Great War and that the generation that saw the first atomic bomb (the sign of the son of man) will not pass away until Christ will come.

It is interesting that Djwhal Khul thought the idea of the Jews returning to Jerusalem was a bad idea and accurately predicted that it would cause great conflict which would threaten the peace of the world . He thought it would be wise of the Jews to merge with the other peoples of the world.

But such was not to be. It is also interesting that the Book of Mormon predicted the return of the Jews to their ancient lands and Joseph Smith often spoke of and predicted it. In fact in 1841 he went so far as to send one of his apostles (Orson Hyde) to Jerusalem to dedicate the land for the returning of the Jews.

Below is the story of the Mormon Apostle. Thought you might find it interesting considering the present climate.

Story of Orson Hyde’s Journey to Jerusalem

In the early part of March last [1840], I retired to my bed one evening as usual, and while contemplating and inquiring out, in my own mind, the field of my ministerial labors for the then coming season, the vision of the Lord like clouds of light, burst upon my view. The cities of London, Amsterdam, Constantinople and Jerusalem all appeared in succession before me; and the spirit said unto me, “Here are many of the children of Abraham whom I will gather to the land that I gave to their fathers, and here also is the field of your labors

Orson Hyde’s vision gave him confidence that the times were hastening to their end and that the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith’s prediction of a Jewish return to the Holy Land would soon be fulfilled. The mission of Elder Orson Hyde to the Holy Land laid a path for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to establish a presence in Palestine that continues to grow to this day. His travel and dedication of Jerusalem to the return of the Jews was, what Latter-day saints believe, a fulfillment and ancient and modern day prophecy found in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and prophecies of modern day prophets. He placed a course that future LDS pilgrims followed to the Holy Land. He established a foundation that allowed the Mormon faith to exist, work, and assemble in the land that has been set aside, according to both Christianity and Judaism, for the building of the Messiahs Kingdom on earth.

In 1831, a twenty-six year old Orson Hyde, was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by the Prophet Joseph Smith. At this time he was given a blessing:

In due time thou shalt go to Jerusalem, the land of thy fathers and be a watchman unto the House of Israel, and by thy hands shall the Most High do a great work, which shall prepare the way and greatly facilitate the gathering of that people.

This blessing would come to fruition in April of 1840 when Hyde as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostle, the governing body of the church, was called to serve a mission to the Jewish communities of Europe and Palestine. Hyde was instructed by the Quorum of the Twelve to go to the Holy Land and dedicate the land of Palestine for the return of Judah and the house of Israel as stated in the original assignment

Be it known that we, the constituted authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, assembled in Conference at Nauvoo, Hancock county, and state of Illinois, on the sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty, considering an important event at hand, an event involving the interest and fate of the Gentile nations throughout the world-from the signs of the times and from declarations contained in the oracles of God, we are forced to come to this conclusion. The Jewish nations have been scattered abroad among the Gentiles for a long period; and in our estimation, the time of the commencement of their return to the Holy Land has already arrived…. [We] have, by the counsel of the Holy Spirit, appointed Elder Orson Hyde, to be our Agent and Representative.

Orson Hyde had been awaiting this calling for some nine years. When he initially joined the Church he professed to have had a vision from the Lord. In this vision he received direction and instructions that pertained to, what he now had been called to fulfill, a holy mission and dedication of the land set aside for Gods’ chosen people. Though the task seemed to be a large and overwhelming one, his earlier vision gave him the direction and comfort he needed. This is an excerpt from that vision.

Here are many of the Children of Abraham whom I will gather to the land that I gave to their fathers; and here also is the field of your labors…. go ye forth to the cities which have been shown you, and declare these words unto Judah, and say, blow ye the trumpet in the land; cry, gather together, and say, assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defensed cities…. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her, welfare is accomplished-that her iniquity is pardoned, for she hath received of the Lords hand doubly for all her sins. Let your warning voice be heard among the gentiles as you pass; and call yet upon them in my name for aid and assistance. With you it mattereth not whether it be little or much; but to me it belongeth to show favor unto them who show favor unto you.

Following his official appointment by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Orson Hyde left immediately on his mission to the Holy Land accompanied by John E. Page. The two traveled to the eastern shores of the United States, spending about a month in these cities. During this time Page grew apprehensive of the enormous journey ahead. Despite the urging of church leaders Joseph Smith and George A. Smith, Page decided to stay behind as Hyde left the eastern coast of the United States and traveled by boat across the Atlantic to Liverpool, England. He stopped for a time here mingling among the members of the church and missionaries in London and throughout England but was still unable to find anyone to accompany him. He then proceeded to travel into Europe.

He crossed to the mainland staying first in Amsterdam and then on to Rotterdam. Here he met with a prominent Jewish Rabbi and published a book about the Church in Dutch. He then proceeded to Germany. He decided he should learn the German language, knowing this would help him on his mission. He embarked on a crash course, and after eight days, he had read most of two books and translated and written considerably. He was reportedly so fluent that people were astonished at his ability.

He continued on his journey stopping at Strasbourg to make friends and establish relationships for later missionary efforts there. Here he entered and crossed Eastern Europe along the Rhine by boat until he arrived in Constantinople where he continued his travel by boat on to Jerusalem.

Along his travels he faced many hardships. He fought danger, disease and hunger all along the way. Some of Hyde’s greatest trials came on his voyage from Smyrna to Beirut. As he traveled with a group of Arabs under the hire of a few Englishman they were blown off course into the small isles that litter the easternmost cost of the Mediterranean. This journey of four days turned into nineteen. They had not taken food stores for this happenstance and began to suffer from lack of nutrition. He managed to survive by gathering snails from the rocks of the isles, which they passed. Eventually they found the mainland, and he continued his journey by land through Beirut.

Hyde obviously had little love for the “Arabs” in the area. He called them “land pirates”. He was constantly concerned for his well being among them. He stated once in a letter to a friend, “You will hear from me again at first opportunity, if the “Arabs” don’t kill me”. While he was in Beirut, “a battle of extermination” was fought within view of the city between the Drewzes and Catholics where eight hundred were killed. The Drewzes were a fundamentalist Muslim group supported by the Sultan who had been pushing out European settlers and missionaries throughout the region. The Catholics were being assisted by the English military to protect the Europeans. It is apparent at this time that Hyde was feeling the effects of the trip as he showed great fear and disgust at this sight. He saw headless bodies lining the streets. He spoke of rampant robberies, theft, and murder.

At this same time the Grand Sultan issued orders that all American missionaries in the region should leave. The Grand Sultan was beginning to feel the pressures of the European settlers in the area. This, combined with the increasing European military presence created a fear for the Grand Sultan that he was losing power. Though in this time of great trouble and danger, Hyde seems to gain confidence and a second wind. He wrote:

…. in this, if it does take place, I can see plainly the hand of Providence. The fact is, this land belongs to the Jews; and the present fermentation thereof shows me that it is fast working back into the hands of its rightful heirs. God will, in due time, drive out the Canaanites, so that no more a Canaanite shall be found in the land, or in the House of the Lord. I find that almost a universal anxiety prevails respecting the return of the Jews. The waters are troubled because the Angel has descended. My heart leaps for joy at the prospect of seeing that land, and there fulfilling my mission.

He now continued travel by boat on down the coast on his way to Jaffa. On the trip Hyde states that an amazing vision took place.

On my passage to Beyrout to this place, the night before last, at one o’clock, as I was meditating on the deck of the vessel, as she was beating down against a sultry schroke wind, a very bright glittering sword appeared in the heavens, about two yards in length, with a beautiful hilt, as plain and complete as any cut you ever saw. And, what is still more remarkable, an arm, with a perfect hand, stretched itself out and took hold of the hilt of the sword. The appearance really made my hair raise, and the flesh as it were, to crawl on my bones. The Arabs made a wonderful outcry at the sight; “O, Allah, Allah, Allah!” was there exclamation all over the vessel. I mention this because you know there is a commandment to me which says: “Unto you it shall be given to know the signs of the times, and the sign of the coming of the Son of Man.”

Hyde debarked at Jaffa, and traveled onward to Jerusalem. At this time Jerusalem had a population of approximately 20,000 in habitants. Among these, 7000 were Jews. The majority of the population consisted of Turks and Arabs. He traveled the city viewing and meditated among the spiritually historic sights that he emotionally witnessed. He attempted to contact other Christian missionaries and prominent men of the city, but he did not meet with much success. So he again resolved to complete the purpose of his mission alone.

One year and six months had passed since he embarked on his journey from Nauvoo, Illinois. On Sunday morning, October 24, 1841, just before dawn, Elder Orson Hyde walked out of Jerusalem, up the Mount of Olives, and viewed the beautiful sight of Jerusalem at as sunlight spread across the city of the Messiah. Here he wrote and delivered the dedicatory prayer, consecrating the land for the gathering of Judah’s scattered remnants and for the eventual building of a temple. In the dedicatory prayer, Elder Hyde referred to the prophecies of God’s servants in relation to the Jews and Jerusalem, and asked that all might be fulfilled. He called for the richest blessings of heaven upon the Jews; he blessed, by virtue of his priesthood, and by his special calling as an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, the city, the land, and the elements, to the end that Judah might be gathered, Jerusalem rebuilt, and become a ‘Holy City,” that the Lord’s name might be glorified in all the earth. After the prayer, in accordance with a vision given him before he left Nauvoo, he erected a pile of stones as a witness. He later erected a similar pile or altar upon Mount Zion.

Hyde noted that many Jews listened to his prayer with great interest. To this day his prayer is well known in Jerusalem among the Jews for the wonderful blessings and promises which it proclaims upon Jerusalem and the “the Lords chosen people.” Soon after this he boarded a ship and sail back to England by way of Egypt, Trieste, and Regensburg. On the way he wrote a letter to the editor of the church’s British newspaper the Millennial Star, describing the event of his journey and predicting England role in bringing the results that he had worked and prayed for.

It was by political power and influence that the Jewish nation was broken down, and her subjects dispersed abroad; and I will here hazard the opinion; that by political power and influence they will be gathered and built up; and, further, that England is destined, in the wisdom of economy of Heaven, to stretch forth the arm of political power, and advance in the front ranks of this glorious enterprise.

Orson Hyde’s mission to the Holy Land was not undertaken for personal reasons. Like other Mormon travelers who followed Hyde to Palestine, it was done under the auspices of divine authority. He understood his was a quest called for by a prophet of God. He believed his mission to be inspired. This was the fulfillment of God’s plan for his children on earth. Its foundation lay in the prophecies of old revealed in ancient scripture such as the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon.

If one is to understand the significance of the mission of Elder Orson Hyde and his dedicatory prayer then one must understand where Mormons find the prophecies and divination that make it so important. This is found in Holy Scriptures such as the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. Since the contents of the Book of Mormon are not common knowledge to most it is important that a description be given of what this book contains.

The Book of Mormon is a volume of Holy Scripture that is regarded as a companion to the Holy Bible, according to Mormons. It is a record of a compilation of books written by ancient prophets and abridged by the last of these prophets whose name was Mormon. It does this by giving an account of two civilizations. One of them is led by an ancient prophet named Lehi, who, after being commanded by God to leave Jerusalem just before the Babylonian destruction in the early 6th century B.C. This group of people divided into two tribes called Lamanites and Nephites. The other civilization came to the Americas from the Middle East much earlier around the time of the tower of Babel. Both groups brought with them their Semitic customs and languages. Two of the groups were destroyed leaving the Lamanites who Mormons believe are the ancient ancestors of the American Indians. From this we can see that the geographical roots of Mormonism’s essential document are anchored in the Holy Land in a profound way from its opening pages.

Throughout the Book of Mormon are references and prophecies concerning the House of Israel, Jerusalem and the restoration thereof. The Book of Mormon teaches that through the help of the Gentile nations (the western world), the Jews will be assisted in their return to the land of promise before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon states:

And it shall come to pass that they [the Jews} shall be gathered in from their long dispersion, from the isles of the sea, and from the four parts of the earth; and the nations of the Gentiles shall be great in the eyes of me, saith God, in carrying them forth to the lands of their inheritance. Yea, the kings of the Gentiles shall be nursing mothers; wherefore, the promises of the Lord are great unto the Gentiles, for he hat spoken it, and who can dispute? But behold, this land, saith God, shall be a land of thine inheritance, and the Gentiles shall be blessed upon the land.

Mormons believe themselves to be literally part of the family of Israel, living in Gentile America. It is their mission to help Israel in returning to the Promised Land. Though not blood descendants, the Mormons believe that they are adopted into the House of Israel. According to the Book of Mormon:

By and by the Jews will be gathered to the land of their fathers, and the ten tribes, who wandered into the north, will be gathered home, and the blood of Ephraim, the second son of Joseph, who was sold into Egypt, which is to be found in every kingdom and nation under heaven, will be gathered from among the Gentiles, and the Gentiles who will receive and adhere to the principles of the Gospel will be adopted and initiated into the family of Father Abraham, and Jesus will reign over his own and Satan will reign over his own.

This explains the significance of the Mission of Orson Hyde to the Holy Land for Mormons. He was fulfilling ancient prophecy concerning the gathering of Israel. Mormons believe that not only should they assist in this gathering but being part of Israel, they also are being gathered. This explains why Latter-day Saints have always had such an interest in the Holy Land. They do not ascribe to the common Christian view that a heavenly Jerusalem and Temple will descend on the earth. Latter-day Saints ascribe to the view supported by Jewish Talmudic sages that a gathered portion of Israel will be established around an earthly Jerusalem.

Similar to common Christian beliefs, Mormons believe that the Second Coming of Christ will not take place until Jerusalem is restored. This is supported by the modern prophecy of Joseph Smith.

Judah must return, Jerusalem must be rebuilt, and the temple, and water come out from under the temple, and the waters of the dead sea be healed. It will take some time to rebuild the walls of the city and the temple, etc.; and all this must be done before the Son of Man will make His appearance.

Thus the urgent nature of the mission of Orson Hyde is evident. It was crucial in the advent of coming of the Messiah. Orson Hyde’s journey and dedication led to the furthering of the Latter-day Saint work in the Holy Land. Upon his return, interest in the gathering of Israel increased greatly among members of the church.

In October of 1872 another mission followed Elder Orson Hyde’s path to the Holy Land when Church Leader George Albert Smith led a group of Latter-day Saints to rededicate Jerusalem. Here they met many Jews who received them graciously as they identified themselves with Orson Hyde. Again, as with Orson Hyde before them, they were not on a mission to convert the Jews to Christianity, but only to perform the dedication which they were directed to do by the churches Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. They toured the same places that Hyde toured and dedicated the land in the same manner as Hyde had thirty years previously.

The Logic of Karma, Part 4

The Logic of Karma, Part 4
Working Out Karma and Illusion

I was asked about this quote:

“Cooperating in the plan of the Solar Logos in relation to His Karma a point oft overlooked. This Karma of His must be worked out through the method of incarnation and the subsequent result of the incarnated energy upon the substances of the form. This is symbolized for us, if we could but grasp it, in the relation of the sun to the moon. The Solar Lord with his warmth and light galvanizes the moribund Lunar Lords into spurious life. This is the great deception; and the Maya of His Presence.

“So runs the Old Commentary oft quoted by me in earlier books. The above concept has in it truth for the individual soul likewise.” Treatise on White Magic, Page 48

If you have time could you please elaborate on this briefly?

JJ: You picked one with a lot of meaning and I will just be able to scratch the surface here.

The first thing to take from this is the dispelling of the idea that when we reach the higher worlds that we will be eternally free from Karma. Note that even the Solar Logos has karma and he has progressed billions of years beyond the Planetary Logos and the Planetary Logos passed beyond the human kingdom billions of years in the past. Thus we cannot expect to be free from the effects of karma (cause and effect) any time soon.

What do we mean when we say we have karma?

This is another way of merely stating that we have initiated cause in the past for which all the effects have not yet been realized.

If you throw a bowling ball at ten pins the desired effect is to knock them all down. As the ball is in motion rolling down the aisle the cause has been initiated, but the end effect has not yet materialized. This end effect is karma and thus the ball, or the thrower of the ball, can be said to have karma. After the ball hits the pins and is returned to its sender we can say the karma has played out. Then the player can throw the ball again and the karma (resulting effect) will this time play out a little differently.

As we incarnate into a life we are like a bowler with a ball in motion just waiting to see if we will wind up with a strike or a seven/ten split. This motion we carry with us are effects from our past still in motion waiting to be played out.

This will continue on various levels through eternity.

Djwhal Khul then makes an interesting statement:

“This Karma of His must be worked out through the method of incarnation and the subsequent result of the incarnated energy upon the substances of the form.”

This not only applies to the Solar Logos, but to all lives. The solar Logos created causes from his last incarnation for which the effects have not yet played out. He, therefore, has the forces of karma to deal with in his current life just as we do, but on as higher level.

Those causes which are initiated on the physical plane must be played out on the physical, and thus we are forced because of karma to reincarnate when causes yet remain in motion for which the effects have not yet played out.

Causes which have been initiated on the astral plane must be played out upon the astral and causes in the mental must be played out upon the mental, yet while the entity is in physical incarnation.

Beyond these three worlds of form cause and effect act out simultaneously from our point of view and there is no usually no residual karma. Notice, I say usually. This is because in the event of a major decision on the higher planes, even there karma can be generated. For instance, the one third of the monads of this system who decided not to incarnate are suffering an effect which will last for eons. (See Stanzas of Dzyan, Treatise on Cosmic Fire.)

Our souls are a symbol of the sun and our lower personality is a symbol of the moon with no light of its own. Karma is worked off through the soul shining the light of the Spirit on the lower self propelling it into motion as does the coming and going of the sun cause the waters to rain down, evaporate and then come down again. Our soul is our personal book of life that stores cause and drives us to work out effects until all is in balance and we return to our source for the great rest of the Lord of Sabboath.

Question: “Also, concerning Karma, can it be passed on to our offspring or are happenings merely genetic/environmental occurrences? “

There is individual karma and then there is group karma. Your individual karma is not passed down to your children unless you are born as your grandchild and bear the effects of a past life. On the other hand, there is karma for larger entities. If you are a member of a church, an organization, a nation, a race, and sometimes families, you will wind up being a cog in a great wheel that will assist in working out effects of cause for the entire group which you are affiliated. Thus we have national karma, racial karma etc.

It can sometimes appear that we pass down individual karma to offspring because the offspring gravitate to a situation conducive to working out their karma. If you and person B have similar karma to work out you may wind up being born into the same family that provides the correct circumstances for you.

Question: “Would you mind explaining the last line? ‘This is the great deception; and the Maya of His Presence.’

You have to be a fairly advanced student to even ask a question like this. Most Bailey readers eyes just glaze over when they reach quotes from the Old Commentary.

Let us use the Law of Correspondences.

We have seven spheres of existence within the Cosmic Physical. Within the worlds of form we have two worlds which seem to be real but are not built upon a principle and are not founded in reality.

The first is the physical which we see before us. The real physical is the etheric double.

The second illusion is the astral world which is created by smoke and mirrors and turns reality upside down. The astral world is created through the power of soul energy reflecting through the higher mental world. In the same way the power of our solar plexus is very illusionary because it is a reflection of the higher feeling nature of the heart center.

Does the Higher Self work then in the illusionary Solar Plexus as well as the astral worlds? Yes, it does, but this power works as a reflection which distorts the true and the real so we can have a “not self” as well as a true self. Only through the duality of the real and the unreal can we learn to appreciate and use the real with wisdom.

Just as we have a real self and a “not self” we have real Gods, or Lords and illusionary Lords, but just as this physical world and the astral world of emotion seems very real even so do the lunar lords seem very real. But from the greater reality the Solar Lords represent the true God and the Lunar Lords, the illusionary Gods, just as the light of the moon is not its own, but a reflection of the sun. Even so just as the astral is created by the soul energy reflecting through mind, even so are lunar lords activated by Higher Spiritual Inelligence manifesting through astral or lunar energy. When this happens great illusion is the result, but such illusion is necessary for mankind during certain stages of evolution.

When man is centered in the astral, or emotional world, then God must speak to him, however imperfectly, through his lower feelings.

When this happens we have “the great deception; and the Maya (illusion) of His Presence.”

The seeker does not have the actual presence of God with him, but a reflection of his presence. He is deceived, yet still encouraged to move onward so the end is good.

When Moses ascended to the Mount he encountered a Solar Lord as evidenced by his shining countenance when he appeared before the people. He was given solar teachings on the first tablets, but when Moses saw that the people were worshipping the golden calf he destroyed them and then received the lesser laws on stone tablets from “the angel of the Lord” who was a lunar Lord. The Lunar Lord thus gave commandments which are repulsive to Solar people, such as killing men women and children of their enemies and stoning to death anyone who breaks even slight rules such as working on the Sabbath, being disobedient to parents, etc.

One of the missions of Jesus was to destroy the work of the Lunar Lords and bring our consciousness to the true Solar Lords, in particular the Logos of Jupiter in conjunction with the Solar Logos.

The Logic of Karma, Part 3

The Logic of Karma, Part 3

Just Cause

The dictionary definition of justice is as follows: “The quality of being just; fairness.”

I think this pretty much says it. If a person, circumstance or payment is just – this means that fairness has been achieved and all parties have nothing to complain about.

Now let us look at the standard religious view of the world. Is there justice or fairness?

Not hardly. In fact the common phrase being thrown about these days by laymen and preachers alike is “life is not fair.”

The truth is that if life is not fair then life is not just and this would mean that God is not just.

In fact, if there is only one life it would indeed be true that life is not fair.

It would not be fair or just to have some little innocent children starving to death and others well taken care of by loving families.

It would not be just for some to be stricken with incurable diseases and others who do not take particularly good care of their bodies to have good health into old age.

It would not be just for some to be born poor and others rich.

It would not be just for some to be born free and others slaves.

Taking these things into consideration it becomes a stretch of obscene proportions to believe that that there is more justice, or fairness, in one life than there would be in hundreds of lifetimes where all experience abundance and poverty, health and disease, love and hate etc.

Actually the epitome of justice and fairness is expressed in the biblical words expressing the law of karma: “as ye sow so shall ye reap.”

This is the law of cause and effect with measures out justice with exactness.

Comment: I do not see any validity to the notion that someone, sometime, MUST kill that husband to “fulfill the demands of karma and justice.”

You should argue with what I do say, not with what I do not say.”

I did not say that she had to kill her husband for we always have out free agency. But when he killed her in a previous life he set up a cause that would produce effects for lifetimes to come. Justice and fairness demands that he reap as he has sowed. If the payment does not come from his wife it will come from some other source, perhaps even through service on his part.

Comment: If making one whole is NOT a part of “justice” than what is? If someone destroys my reputation, making me “whole” is defined as bringing one back to the state and condition prior to the damaging event.

At least half the time when a wrong is committed against a person, such as destroying a reputation, it is an unknowing act of justice because this person in a previous life did a similar harm to someone else. When this happens justice is served. He, of course, will be born with a fresh opportunity to establish a good reputation in his next life, but in having his reputation tarnished in one life as he did unto another in a previous one sets up a classroom where he learns a valuable and “just” lesson. When he who was destroyed by him in a previous life views this lesson from the Spirit world he will feel that justice was served.

There are times when a wrong is committed toward an individual that was not deserved by anything he did in his past. When this happens the person will in some future time have a similar right or good event happen to him which will compensate, thus serving the demands of justice.

Comment: If Tom owed me a great debt that he could not pay, and I honestly and sincerely forgave him, there would no longer be any debt. Could the same concept apply to other wrong doings? If Tom destroyed my reputation, yet I totally forgave him, might we say that (to me) there was no more need of “justice”? If so, where does that leave Tom? The answer to THAT question is one place where karma gets hung up.

JJ: You say that Karma gets “hung up” when there is no hang up and no problem.

Karma is simply cause and effect and cause and effect never gets frustrated, broken or hung up.

Jesus said: “forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” Again this is a good Biblical interpretation of Karma.

If you forgive Tom you are making good karma for yourself so you will meet people like you in your future who will forgive your wrongs.

Does forgiving someone his debt erase karma? No. It only alters the way that the karma is worked out.

Many who forgive debts sense this and will say something like, “Don’t worry about paying me back. Just help someone else down the road and we’ll call it even.”

Many of us have had people say this to us when we have been helped by a stranger when we have had car trouble.

If Tom owes you $1000 and you forgive the debt all the effects of borrowing the $1000 are still in play. Your forgiveness has merely added a new cause that changes the circumstances.

Tom will eventually learn the principle of forgiveness and will pay the $1000 back by forgiving a similar debt from someone else in the future or a similar gesture of value.

All eternal laws are built on the principle of cause and effect or karma.

There is no learning or any other effect without cause. There is no exception to this.

On the lighter side I can clearly remember my lesson in learning about hot stoves. I was just a couple years old when my mother and brother clearly told me to not touch the stove when it was hot. One day I was looking at the red hot stove thinking about what was said and noticed that it was losing it’s redness and getting cool. I assumed that when it was no longer red that I could now touch it and did so. To my surprise I learned that a burner can be pretty hot even when it is not red. My lesson in this cause and effect was fully registered.

We must remember that the core principle through which karma operates is cause and effect.

How can there be a flaw (as some maintain) in the principle stating that when there is a cause there is an equal effect according to the energy behind the initiated cause? How can there be a flaw in the scripture which says, “as ye sow so shall ye reap?”

I could not find a flaw in this principle if I researched it a thousand years.

Comment: “However, those ideas are a far cry from the exactness implied in the “opposite and equal reaction” formula. Let’s say I act out on my anger, and throw a rock at someone’s car window. The “opposite and equal” formula (which you say is “so absolute, so definite, so real, and so inevitable”) says that INEVITABLY a rock will be thrown at my car window. That is the part that does not make sense. That is one part of the concept of karma that is flawed.”

JJ: When the rock is thrown it is moved through the air by the application of a certain amount of energy.

By the time the rock comes to a standstill it has (by Newtonian physics and the law of cause and effect) been met with exactly the same amount of energy which originally propelled it. If it had not been met with an equal energy it would have remained in motion forever.

The first resistance was the friction of the air through which it sailed. The second was gravity pulling it downward. The third was the window and the fourth and final was the car seat upon which it landed and became stationary. The combination of these four sources of resistance exactly equals the original force which propelled the rock.

This is an example of cause and effect working out with exactness on the physical plane.

BUT…

Cause and effect does not end on the physical plane. To understand Karma one must look at the effects of cause as they manifest on the emotional and mental planes.

If the car was in a junk yard and no one cared much what happened to it then the cause and effect in the higher planes would be minimal. It would be similar to throwing a rock in a lake. There is a physical effect, but because there is little if any destruction of value the cause and effect beyond the physical is miniscule.

The only danger from karma may be that someday you might own a worthless car that someone throws a rock at. If this does not bother you then go ahead and throw the rock.

But, if the car is your new prized Porsche and some harmful person throws a rock through the window we have a totally different set of effects on the astral (emotional) and mental planes.

If you know this is a malicious act of destruction it may produce extreme anger, despair and feelings of vengeance within you. Beyond this you feel a sense of loss over the damage which has been done.

Just like pressing on your accelerator can propel a heavy object (your car) with much more force that that exerted by your foot because of other energies at play, even so the damaged done by the rock in this second case goes far beyond the physical energies.

Now if the damage was the result of an innocent accident you would still feel a sense of loss, but your emotions would not be so negatively effected. Because the emotional damage is not so intense, in the case of an accident the karma generated is not as great. But even in the case of accidents we do have responsibility for our carelessness and a certain amount of restoration will be necessary.

Now in the case of malicious cause the emotional effect can be great. Let us deal with three of the emotional effects of the victim.

(1) Anger. He feels anger and sends it toward the perpetrator with just as real of a hurl as the throwing of a rock.

(2) He feels a desire to obtain vengeance and considers hunting the criminal down and giving him some Texas justice.

(3) He feels sorrow over a sense of loss and thinks to himself that one person would not do this to another if they understood these feelings.

These negative feelings send a rock of energy through the ethers and they circulate there until circumstances are right for them to land on the doorstep of the initiating criminal. When this happens, however, it does not mean that he will own a Porsche and have a rock thrown at it.

What does it mean then?

It means that the emotional energy and feelings he initiated in another will return to him. Equivalent feelings may be generated in him by someone throwing a rock at his dog, a hit and run, a dentist pulling the wrong tooth or a number of things. The purpose of this emotional energy is not to generate an exact repeat of the initiating physical event, but an exact repeat of the emotions of the victim so the initiating rock thrower understands the harm he created and not do it again.

Now let us suppose that the guy who owns the Porsche is a saint and when he sees the damage he does not allow himself to become angry not seek for vengeance. He doesn’t feel an sense of loss because he is just as happy to drive his Yugo. He can loose all he owns and still be at peace.

Is any karma then generated? Does this mean we can rob and plunder the righteous and will have no fear of retribution?

Not quite. The bad guys will not get off so easy. The saints may be forgiving and will not be sending out negative emotional energies of retribution, but they will assess the problem on the plane of the mind and this judgment will send out a projectile of mental energy which will descend to the emotional and physical plane to bring the needed lesson to the wrongdoer.

The advantage of the victim in transcending the emotional plane is that he will cease to initiate new harmful cause which will come back to haunt him. Instead, the karma fulfills its purpose and is thereafter neutralized.

It is indeed true that the energy we deal with in karma plays out in the three worlds of form.

The Logic of Karma, Part 2

The Logic of Karma, Part 2

Comment: If a wife comes back in a subsequent life and kills the husband that previously killed her. How does that bring “justice” to the woman? I believe one must “pass” one grade before going on to the next

JJ: Steps in forward progression cannot be done without the principle behind karma which is cause and effect. One cannot have the effect of learning unless there is a cause that stimulates the learning. You cannot cite an exception to this.

Some are trying to interpret karma from a narrow viewpoint here, but to understand it we must realize that a countless number of variables are always involved.

If we had a black and white attitude toward cause and effect of mixing colors then when we mix yellow and blue would not have green, but something that is part yellow and part blue. This of course is not the case.

When we mix equal portions of yellow and blue then we get solid green. When we look at the green we may say that it does not seem to represent the cause since yellow and blue do not look like green.

In addition to this we can mix differing amounts of yellow and blue and obtain a million shades of green. The interesting thing is that in the end, even though there are many differing results, each result (karma) is exactly equal to the results of a formula.

In the example of the story the wife did not have to kill her husband to fulfill the demands of karma and justice. If she had not killed him then someone else would have and she would not have added a negative cause (karma) to her history.

She killed him because she carried over a grievance from the abuse she suffered from the past. Because she did not forgive she then transmuted that grievance into the action of killing her husband in a future life.

Thus her lack of forgiveness for her own murder turned her into a murderer in a future time.

The children were too innocent to carry over a grievance and thus remained innocent in the future life.

Justice was brought to the woman because she saw the results of her lack of forgiveness. This is one reason why forgiveness is so important for it can set up a cause that will make us become that which we do not forgive in others.

Question: “How indeed, can someone who destroys my reputation “make me whole?” How indeed, can someone who commits adultery and destroys my family, “make me whole?” By letting me destroy HIS reputation in a future incarnation?”

It is not up to any other person to make you whole. Only you can do that. If someone destroys your reputation you become whole through forgiving him. When you forgive him this releases you from coming back in a future time and adding additional karma to yourself by attempting to take your suppressed wrath out on him by destroying his reputation.

If you do forgive him the man will not escape karma, for a magnetic force will be created that will draw someone else forward to teach the man the needed lesson.

If you are thinking of wholeness on a purely physical level one must realize that if your reputation is destroyed it is because of a cause you set up either earlier in this life or a previous life. Even so, if one learns the principle of forgiveness his attitude will be such that no circumstances will have power to take away his peace.

Justice is carried out, not only through the principle of forgiveness, but also balance for each of us are born in a variety of circumstances in various lives. If someone desros your reputation it may be because you did the same thing to someone else in a previous life and tus what happened to you is in accord with justice. But if it happens that your reputation was destroyed when your past did not warrant it then you will be born in a future circumstance where you will have an advantageous circumstance to enhance your reputation.

I have issued the following challenge several times and so far no one has been able to fill it.

Show me one example where the law of cause and effect (karma) is neutralized. In other words, show me one cause with no effect or one effect that does not have a cause.

There is none.

Prophesies Revisited

December of last year a reader asked me about Sollog, a self-proclaimed prophet and I did an article on him.

He made two concrete prophesies as follows:

“On January 1st 2002 a magnitude 7.0+ quake shall occur.

“On March 21st 2002 a magnitude 7.0+ quake shall occur.”

In response to these predictions I wrote:

“My guess is that a fairly large earthquake or two will occur in the first six months of 2002, but not on the dates predicted, and he will claim this fulfills his prediction.”

As it turns out my “guess” was a much more accurate prediction than Sollog’s were, who claims to be a mouthpiece for God, and that all future events are set in stone.

The facts:

No major quake occurred on the dates predicted.

There have however, been a couple significant quakes on other dates most notable the recent on one Afghanistan on March 26th. Nothing significant occurred close to Jan 1, but the Afgan quake occurred about five days away from his second prediction.

However, he predicted a 7.0+ earthquake and the Afgan quake was 6.1.

Even so, he made me a true prophet by doing as I predicted and claiming success. On his web page he is proclaiming that Afgan quake is proof he is a true prophet without giving the details of his prophecy.

He is also falsely stating that a 7.0 earthquake occurred in Japan, but the AP wire says it was only a 5.0.

If you want to be a true prophet take the prophesies of that others are making in the name of God, extraterrestrials or some master and predict the opposite and you will be right 99% of the time.

About the other 1% – we must remember that even a stopped clock is accurate twice a day.
