Neutralizing the Negative

Neutralizing the Negative

I received this e-mail and thought that the group may benefit from my answer. This person writes:

“Is depression an attack from the dark brotherhood? If so I am being attacked, even though I know I can over come it and how I can overcome it… is there a way to ensure that depression doesn’t return??”

Djwhal Khul talked about this in words so well-written that I cannot improve upon them. Here is what he said:

“Danger from the Dark Brothers.

“I think I gave you earlier practically all that I can as yet impart anent the Brothers of Darkness, as they are sometimes termed. I only want at this point to lay emphasis upon the fact that no danger need be feared by the average student from this source. It is only as discipleship is approached and a man stands out ahead of his fellows as an instrument of the White Brotherhood that he attracts the attention of those who seek to withstand. When through application to meditation, and power and activity in service, a man has developed his vehicles to a point of real achievement, then his vibrations set in motion matters of a specific kind, and he learns to work with that matter, to manipulate the fluids, and to control the builders. In so doing he encroaches on the domain of those who work with the forces of involution and thus he may bring attack upon himself. This attack may be directed against any of his three vehicles and may be of different kinds. Let me briefly point out some of the methods employed against a disciple which are the ones which alone concern the student of these letters:

“{A} Definite attack on the physical body. All kinds of means are employed to hinder the usefulness of the disciple through disease or the crippling of his physical body. Not all accidents are the result of karma, for the disciple has usually surmounted a good deal of that type of karma and is thus comparatively free from that source of hindrance in active work.

“{B} Glamour is another method used, or the casting over the disciple of a cloud of emotional or mental matter which suffices to hide the real, and to temporarily obscure that which is true. The study of the cases wherein glamour has been employed is exceedingly revealing and demonstrates how hard it is for even an advanced disciple always to discriminate between the real and the false, the true and the untrue. Glamour may be either on the emotional or mental levels but is usually on the former. One form employed is to cast over the disciple the shadows of the thought of weakness or discouragement or criticism to which he may at intervals give way. Thus cast, they loom in undue proportion and the unwary disciple, not realizing that he is but seeing the gigantic outlines of his own momentary and passing thoughts, gives way to discouragement, aye even to despair, and becomes of little use to the Great Ones. Another form is to throw into his mental aura suggestions and ideas purporting to come from his own Master but which are but subtle suggestions that hinder and help not. It takes a wise disciple always to discriminate between the voice of his real Teacher and the false whispers of the masquerading one, and even high initiates have been temporarily misled.

“Many and subtle are the means used to deceive and thereby curtail the effective output of the worker in the field of the world. Wisely therefore have all aspirants been enjoined to study and work at the development of viveka (ability to discern the real from the unreal) or that discrimination which safeguards from deception. If this quality is laboriously built in and cultivated in all events, big and little, in the daily life, the risks of being led astray will be nullified.

“{C} A third method frequently employed is to envelop the disciple in a thick cloud of darkness, to surround him with an impenetrable night and fog through which he stumbles and often falls. It may take the form of a black cloud of emotional matter, of some dark emotion that seems to imperil all stable vibration and plunges the bewildered student into a blackness of despair; he feels that all is departing from him; he is a prey to varied and dismal emotions; he deems himself forsaken of all; he considers that all past effort has been futile and that naught remains but to die. At such times he needs much the gift of viveka, and to earnestly weigh up and calmly reason out the matter. He should at these times remind himself that the darkness hides naught from the God within, and that the stable centre of consciousness remains there, untouched by aught that may betide. He should persevere until the end, the end of what? The end of the enveloping cloud, the point where it merges itself into sunlight; he should pass through its length and out into the daylight, realizing that nothing can at any time reach to and hurt the inner consciousness. God is within, no matter what transpires without. We are so apt to look out at environing circumstances, whether physical, astral or mental, and to forget that the inmost centre of the heart hides our points of contact with the Universal Logos.”

JJ: Of course, not all depression is caused by the Dark Brothers, but it is true that when one begins the path of true service that depression will be a weapon that they will use to discourage fledging disciples.

It is also important to not cultivate the “devil under every rock” syndrome. Many beginning aspirants who are not producing enough results to attract the attention of the dark ones will tend to blame every problem they have on the dark entities. Such persons will often escape from their own responsibilities for achievement by a “devil made me do it” attitude.

Nevertheless, the day will come in the lives of all servers where they become effective enough to attract attention of the great ones on the left and the right. When this time comes the disciple must learn to neutralize the dark forces and the obstacles in the path.

From my own experience with both forces I sense that there is a divine purpose in allowing the Dark Brothers to wreck havoc on us as we attempt to serve.

Just as gold must pass through the refiner’s fire before it reaches its highest purity and value, even so must the disciple pass through every obstacle that can be thrown in his way on the path of service.

The beginner sees service as an act of sacrifice on his part, as if he is doing a favor for God and the Masters of Wisdom. But then after lifetimes of struggle he begins to realize that true service is a prize and a privilege to obtain. When the Dark Powers are neutralized and he finally can serve without impediment, then his attitude takes a 180 degree shift. Service is no longer a gift he is giving to the world through sacrifice, but a joy and a sublime gift that God has given to him as well as others with whom he associates. Each step and increase in power to service is a gift from God, but to receive the gift one has to develop a capacity to retain the gift. If one does not have the capacity to retain the gift the gift is held in reserve until the power to correctly use it is retained.

The Dark Ones unwittingly help the servants obtain the discipline and steadiness of mind necessary to obtain the status of a working disciple.

In the meantime, dealing with depression which is either self-caused or sent from the Dark Brothers is a real item for the worker in the light to deal with.

If the depression is not because of an attack and yet the person is fairly evolved the cause is usually a resistance of some kind. What kind of resistance? A resistance to the impressions sent from the soul or a resistance to hearing the words of the soul itself.

Why would one resist hearing the words of the soul? Because of fear. Fear of what? Fear that the soul will direct you in paths that you are not prepared to take.

Solution: The seeker must become as a little child in this matter and be open to all things and have a willingness to learn any new truth, even if it diametrically opposes that which he has held dear for many years. Then when the truths of the Holy Spirit do distil upon his consciousness, he must not resist, but follow. If he does not follow, depression is likely to result for he will not be able to completely set aside the feelings from his innermost being that he is not living up to the highest of which he is capable.

In the case of receiving and handling a negative charge from the Dark Brothers the solution is somewhat different. An extremely important part of the solution is to learn the difference between negativity caused from our own making and negativity that is sent to us to neutralize us. There is a definite difference in the sensation of the two. The only way to consistently recognize negativity imposed from outside is to learn to not identify with your own emotion.

In my book, The Immortal, we were taught that we are not our bodies, or our emotions and we are not even our minds. These are all vehicles for our use. Just as a car we drive is not us, but a vehicle for our use, even so it is with our feelings. Depression is thus possible because we identify too strongly with our vehicles, in particular our emotional selves.

When the wise disciple fully understands that he is not his feelings he can use the positive ones for his enjoyment, but detach himself from the negative ones. As he then passes through the negative he then realizes that the experience is like being in a secure ship passing through a storm and that the storm will soon end. In the meantime, he can retreat into his secure warm dry cabin and sip on a glass of wine until the storm passes. After the dark storm passes (and it always does) the pilgrim can then go out on the deck and enjoy the sun and fresh tropical breeze.

He thus learns to enjoy the good and neutralize the bad.

As the servant becomes adept at neutralizing dark forces so they have no negative effect upon him personally another problem develops. When the Dark Brothers see that that attacks on the disciple are ineffective they will then attempt to get to him by attacking either his loved ones or other workers in the light with whom he is associated. They do this by channeling the negative energy either directly at the designated persons or sending it to the disciple and reflecting it off his aura into other people who are in his consciousness.

It’s a little like the plot of a bad movie where the bad guy threatens the life of the hero if he does not do what they say. The hero then says “Do what you want to me, but I won’t cooperate.” The bad guy then grabs a loved one and says “Do what I say or the girl gets it.” In the movies this always gets to the hero and he disarms and cooperates until an opportunity to escape presents itself.

This is not an exact correspondence for the disciple must never disarm or cooperate. What then is the solution? When such an attack comes the disciple must learn to recognize it for what it is and tune into the vibratory signatures of loved ones or fellow workers. He will either recognize who are the target(s) of the attack with higher psychism or through clues that will present themselves.

When he then discovers the person(s) who is affected the disciple must then work with him or her with the utmost of patience, love and communication to neutralize any negative effects. How that neutralization is to take place is varied and cannot be covered in full here. It may vary from saving a life to a mere communication or prayers to drive the force back into its rightful place.

There is a piece of good news here and it is that the Dark Brothers cannot attack consistently with power, but must build up negativity through their own meditation and send it forth when the correct window is open. Generally (but not always) this involves intervals of from three to six months.

They will often time their attacks to present themselves shortly after the servant has received an endowment of positive force from the Brotherhood of Light. The time of the attack is very consistently three days after the endowment. Such an attack is geared to discourage the disciple from following the revelation or inspiration received. But the wise servant will ignore the negative and follow the positive even as he sails through the fiercest of storms.

Part of the purpose of the Song of the 144,000 is to assist all workers in the light in neutralizing these negative attacks when they come as well as preparing a conduit to channel protective energy to others in the circle of service.

Sending Love

Sending Love

Laura asks:

In JJ’s book, there is a sharp contrast between those who follow the light (Becomers) and those who follow the dark (Be-ers). But I would think that even in following the path of the dark, there would be a process of becoming darker.

So wouldn’t they also be Becoming?

Actually there are three paths in the overall picture. The path of Becoming which all of us are on who incarnated on this earth and are moving forward in any degree.

The second path (technically a non path) is the path of Being. This state is realized and incorporated with Becoming for disciples.

However the state of Being with no Becoming is had by those who did not decide to incarnate. These entities just are and will not have the opportunity to Become for another eternity.

The third path is followed by the Dark Brothers. Even though they may teach many concepts borrowed from the Brotherhood of light and also many false concepts that does not even apply to them, their path is actually the opposite of Becoming. This opposite path is not Being, but could be called “unbecoming” or perhaps an “unraveling.” That individual identity that they are, that has been in the building stages for millions of years is becoming unraveled and disintegrating back to the Source because of their total rejection of the light.

Without a thread to their Soul the life begins to go out until they become an empty shell and dissolve back to their native element.

But even with this tragedy all is not lost. Billions of years hence a new attempt will be made to rebuild the failed reflection until finally the glory of God will be made manifest. By that time, however, his old friends will have progressed far beyond him and they will never associate on the same level again in this eternity.

Fortunately, few ever progress this far along the dark path. The pain and darkness encountered usually makes them turn around before the path of destruction is reached.

A reader asks about an apparent conflict.

The eighth Principle of Synthesis reads:

  1. We affirm that the power of Love is the greatest unifying principle and send only the pure Love of Christ/God to all.

Also the Song sends “light and love and power to ALL the sons and daughters of mankind.”

Yet I have taught that it can be hazardous to single out an individual of low vibration to send love to.

Actually this is not a contradiction

Sending love to ALL or the whole body of humanity is a much different thing than singling out a single person. When love is sent to all and hate to none you are then sending to humanity as if it were one great life form. This is like sending love to your entire body instead of individual cells.

Sending love to specific individuals can create a number of problems, the most prominent of which is the interference of free will. If we are talking about spiritual love here there are many people who are not prepared to receive it and do not wish to have it sent to them.

When love is sent to ALL or the body of humanity, each can tap into the love energy that is fitted to his own consciousness and free will is not upset. But sending one’s own version of Love to one who does not desire it is like force feeding a friend peas for his own good even though he may hate peas.

A disciple can discern through the soul who is ready to receive the love he has to offer and it will flow naturally through a sense of giving and receiving.

If the disciple comes across one who does not chose to receive love he will not send it, just as Jesus did not send it to the Pharisees. But neither will the disciple send hate, bitterness or any other negative feeling. Instead, he will stand in the center of peace and harmlessness and make his love available if it should be desired.

Another reason that we need to use discernment is that there are numerous ways that we as humans interpret what love is. I have had people tell me they love me and will pray for me when in reality I have felt waves of hate coming from them.

Other times I have felt the energy of well meaning people sending their version of love to me and have found it quite annoying, for the love was sent for the purpose of changing my mind which I did not want to change.

Then there have been times that love naturally flowed when I was willing to give or receive and the experience was heavenly.

If a person of high vibration sends love to one of lower vibration the lower will pick it up all right, but by the time it filters through his solar plexus the love will be transmuted to selfish desire which is his way of seeing love.

Let me quote from a previous article which expands on a comment given by DK:

“If we send Light and Love to anyone on the dark path or of a low vibration, or someone who will use power contrary to the good of the whole then the Light and Love we send will be transmuted to the lower centers and all we will do is energize the lower desires of these people.

“Many Light Workers at the beginning of World War II made the mistake of sending Light and Love to Hitler and it only had the effect of energizing his lower self rather than making him more sensitive to the needs of others.

“The world would have been much better served if they had sent the positive energy to others in Germany who may be more receptive. If the energy was sent to Romel, Stauffenberg and others who were just men seeking to overthrow Hitler the war may have ended sooner.”

Conclusion:

It is always safe to send Love to all of humanity or a large number of people because there will always be a number of people who are happy to receive it of their own free will.

We should send love to individuals who desire it of us or when we are moved upon by the inner self. We should send hate to none, wish peace to all and make love available to all who wish to receive and be edified.

McCall Gathering, 2007, Part 25

This entry is part 25 of 54 in the series McCall Gathering 2007

Identifying Light and Dark

One of the things I thought I would talk about and one of things DK talks about in the book on White Magic is the difference between the light and dark brotherhoods. I have heard quite a few people say; I think my ex-husband (ore wife) was a dark brother.  Or my ex-boyfriend he was a dark brother and I have different people coming to me and identifying people that they thought were dark brothers but in very few cases they would really be right because if a person is somebody that goes against your belief system or seems cold and hard then that does not a dark brother make. All of us have been through a number of lives and even though Robin here is just as sweet a gal as you can find anywhere, maybe a hundred lifetimes ago she was really someone to be reckoned with. She may have caught Larry doing something she did not like and taken care of him right there, on the spot.

But this is why it is important when we look at other people that we be careful when we judge them, because as we judge them we may be identifying something we have been or will be and if we can identify with being that then we are much more careful about judging the other person.

Say if a person has been a thief a past and he is not a thief anymore. You will find that person to very cautious about condemning the person that is a thief because they will think, well I understand the mindset, it is wrong and I understand it is wrong but he will be careful about condemning the person that has done what he himself did. This is the attitude all of us should take in dealing with other people.

Many people have all kinds of individuals in their lives that just irritate and annoy them very much. What we have to look at is that we all have our share of faults and we do our share of irritating other people. We must be cautious about judging people where they are in the moment.  It helps to remember the truism – “There but for the grace of God go I.”

Do we all know people that judge much more harshly than this? They judge, as they could never have been guilty of such a thing. Some crimes are so heinous that people think that they could never be like that and that is very possible in the future but not so much in the past. And this one of the beautiful things knowledge brings to us about understanding reincarnation. There is more than one life and if we are 500, 700, 900 lives old in this system then we have probably done everything there is to do and where that person is, we have been.

Curtis read the statement from the Aquarian Gospel, quoting the words of Jesus, “Where I am you shall be and what I have done you can do.” And it works in reverse. We find someone that is in prison somewhere for some crime and what he has done, we have probably done. It works in reverse on the backward scale and it also works positively when we think of a Master like Christ or an example of a great athlete that we want to become like or a great statesman that we want to become like or a great writer, that he can inspire us. What he is I can be and that is a very inspiring thing.

And almost every person that achieves greatness finds some role model that he thinks – what he is, I can be. Look what he accomplished starting from nothing. What is the reason that I can’t do the same thing? This person rose in the company so why can’t I, or this person started a business so why can’t I? This person wrote a book – I can write a book. This type of example really helps. So often our judgment is a very important key.

Live and let live is another important phrase. If people would just live and let live the whole world would be a lot better place. Imagine if Germany, Italy, the United States, Europe, just before World War II had said, lets all get together and just live and let live. Hitler would have got together with the Jews and the Jews would have said, Hitler how about just live and let live. You do your thing and we will do ours. How about that? If Hitler would have just okay then the whole problem of World War II, the whole conflict, millions upon millions of lives could have been saved if people would have just been a little bit tolerant and just live and let live.

When you think of that it is a very important principle. There are a lot of people in this world that just do want to live and let live and they think, this person is really screwing up and this person is saying this and this person is a dark brother and this person is evil and this person is on the wrong path he needs to be set straight or something worse. This type of attitude creates a tremendous amount of problems for humanity. If we just live and let live and judge softly thing would be so much better.

The scripture does not say do not judge because we have to judge. The key to my book The Lost Key of the Buddha is actually judgment but it is judgment in the positive sense for we have to make judgments in order to move ahead. The scripture does not say do not judge but if you judge then you will be judged with the same type of judgments that you handed out. What you hand out in judgment will come back. In other words, if we make a harsh judgment then somebody will come along and make a harsh judgment toward us but it does not say don’t judge. As a matter of fact there is another scripture that says, “When you judge, judge righteously.” It tells us to have “right use of judgment.”

That is one of the things that I try to do in my life is to be sparing in my judgment and not be harsh but try to always think, that guy is not where I am right now but I have probably been there so I should understand where he is coming from as much as possible.

Now, the question might be asked what is the true difference between the brotherhood of light and the brother hood of darkness? Let’s make a list of differences between the brotherhood of light and the dark brothers. First of all what is the most obvious difference? Let us name a few.

Why Are We Here?

This entry is part 58 of 62 in the series 2010

Posted Nov 12, 2010
Dennis writes:
I have a hard time believing in “The Dark Brothers”. As I get older I find I am not believing everything I’m taught or told anymore.

JJ
It is certainly not good to believe anyone just because they teach a thing but finding and observing people who work in darkness is an easy thing to do.
I’ve had a lot of people tell me that they do not believe in dark brothers, but to them I say – look around. What do you see with your own eyes? There are people shrouded in darkness all over. Take Kim Jong Il, for instance, who allows no freedom in his country of North Korea and will imprison or execute anyone who shows a peep of independence. Then Hitler, Stalin and Mao are other obvious examples. These murdered and tortured many millions.

The auras of people, which can be seen with a little training, show a great difference in light. Some people are actually surrounded with literal darkness and others are bright and radiant.
I have seen the truth of this scripture:

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matt 6:23

If there are workers of darkness on this side of the veil then they must also exist on the other side as noted in the scriptures.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph 6:12

“High places” is not an accurate translation as it comes from the Greek EPOURANIOS which means “heavenly or celestial realms.”

So here Paul was telling us that we fight against enemies in the heavenly or spiritual realms as well as “rulers of the darkness of this world.”

Dennis:
I read Max Skousen’s works before I discovered you, JJ. Max’s main teaching is, We were God’s in the pre-existence and we are here to learn what it’s like not to be God. I really believe that.

JJ
I’ve heard this teaching a lot, not only from the LDS but also many new agers and it has never made sense to me. If this was our purpose then our next step should be to become an insect so we could live a life that is not human to discover what it is like to not be human.

Ask yourself – being a human – do you want to become an insect so you can see how good you now have things? Yet many believe we were once Gods and were further above humans than we are the insects and we came down here just to discover an appreciation for being gods.

I do not need to become an insect to discover how much better it is to be a human, neither do I need to become a human to discover how great it is to be a god.

The real joy for all life comes from growth and accomplishment and as we grow from one point of consciousness to another there is joy.

We were one with God in the beginning as we are technically one with him now but we came here for growth, experience and joy rather than to just gain an appreciation of what we were in the past.

Dennis:
However, Max did not believe in reincarnation. Then I read your book, Eternal Lives and that made sense. If I’m not mistaken, I got from your book that we started our progression on some lower life and in each life thereafter, we made progression upward until we come unto this life. Maybe we all lived evil previous lives like Hitler, or Sadam Hussain and observed those lives like Max taught.

But we progressed up. Paul says in Colossians Chapter one that the mystery is, Christ in you the hope of glory. In that same chapter it says that Christ reconciles all things unto himself. Sometime in eternity Christ reconciled me, a thing, unto himself.

JJ
We all have within us the soul, a link with God, which is the Christ Principle so technically this is true.

Dennis:
Therefore I do not believe that God creates failures like the dark brothers. Right now I do not believe that one can get so low that one can not repent and come back sometime in eternity.

JJ
Yet God created Hitler and he was a big failure.

We are reflections of god so if we want to understand God we must examine ourselves. Are the creations of humans perfect?

No.

Do our creations need a lot of work to become perfect?

Yes.

Are God’s creations perfect?

No. There is not a perfect planet, moon, human, dog or crystal.

We are not here to obtain joy from being perfect but by accomplishment.

The word perfect in the Greek when referring to god and Jesus means to finish a work. Perfect as religion uses it today’s was a word embraced by the Pharisees.

Dennis:
The reason I have these questions is when I had my baptism of fire experience I was shown two main teachings. The first was that Christ loves me a rude and crude person not matter what. He forgave me all my sins. The second was that all people are perfect and that salvation is free and cannot be earned. Therefore I am not to judge anyone.

JJ
It’s quite possible you received a correct impression but are not seeing the whole picture. Our souls that link us to God are relatively perfect, but we have free will and can sever that link if we so choose. Once this is done then the life of God is lost and the entity has to lose his progression and start over again in the far future.

But even the dark brothers will eventually progress back to oneness with god so one can say that in the end of the great cycle of cycles that relative perfection will be attained by all.

Then a new cycle shall begin and we will create even greater problems to solve so our intelligence can expand even more.

Dennis:
How do I deal with both your teachings, Max’s teachings and the spirit’s teachings which seem to have 3 different teachings?

JJ
Don’t worry about what either Max or I say. Just go with what feels right with the spirit within. If you are pure in heart and in error the error will be discovered and corrected.
