Discovering the New Age, Part 3

Sorting out Mind from Emotion

Freedom

Those who are stuck in the old age ruled by emotion will have a much different view of freedom than will the Aquarian thinker governed by mind and reason.

The astral approach to freedom is to take the black and white approach. This means the person will either discount rules and regulations so he can have his way or to support an excess of them to control the other guy. The Piscean character will assume that the other guy cannot be trusted with much freedom as he will abuse it whereas he sees himself as supporting freedom and he wants rules dropped that may control him.

An example would be the guy who wants drugs legalized because he wants the freedom to use them, but wants strict controls on guns as he does not own one.

The mentally polarized can see that the principle involved in both is the same. They both have a dangerous side and if we trust our fellow humanity with one then we should with the other.

The mentally polarized can see that much more can be accomplished with maximum freedom than with excessive rules, regulations and laws. The right amount of law insures freedom but excess destroys it.

There are around 40,000 new laws and regulations passed every year in this country and anyone but a madman should realize that is too many. How many can name even a dozen passed last year? Very few. There are so many that most of us broke several of them yesterday yet probably did not know what they were. The advantage for corrupt authorities having so many laws is that they can turn most anyone who offends them into a lawbreaker and go after them.

I have already written a lot about the Principle of freedom. Here is an excerpt from my forthcoming book on Principles.

The principle of freedom is a mystery just as most principles are. Why? Because it takes a certain degree of consciousness to apply the second key of judgment to understand and apply it.

When freedom is discussed among all people of divergent views it is interesting to note that all of them see themselves as struggling for freedom, even those who are enslaving others. Hitler often spoke of freedom. The Taliban speaks of their own freedoms. The Old South maintained they needed slaves to insure their own freedom. Abraham Lincoln noted this and observed that some people have a pretty strange idea of what freedom is.

Some think that freedom can only exist in a state of anarchy, but this is illusion for it takes a number of laws to insure the maximum freedom of the whole.

Others think we need laws to cover every detail of living to insure freedom, but too many laws and rules hinder freedom.

There are those who think life is not fair so they make restrictive laws to make everyone equal thinking greater freedom will result. This usually results in less fairness and diminished freedom for the whole.

The problem with freedom is that people view it from their own restricted vision. Instead of looking at it from its effect on the whole they look at it from the view of their own little isolated world. It may be true that a man could have had a slave and the slave helped him have a temporary increase in his own physical freedom, but the whole was less free.

The problem with freedom is we are looking for the manifestation of maximum freedom for the whole and to obtain this there has to be some restrictions on the individual. For instance, the individual burglar must not be given the freedom to break into homes. On the other hand, too many restrictions will suffocate freedom. Only those who see the fine point of balance in the middle and how the whole is affected will understand.

What is true freedom then? Again, it is the removal of restrictions either imaginary or real, so the power of decision has complete freedom within the sphere of its plan. Thus the true principle of freedom lies in the idea that the soul energy to accomplish is released so its life can flow through the ideas and thoughts of the pilgrim until all desires are fulfilled.

No matter what your belief system there will come trials in harmonizing the Principle of Freedom with personal feelings.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against abortion must allow the woman her freedom of choice whether that choice be right or wrong.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against gays living together must allow them that freedom of choice whether that choice be right or wrong.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against illegal drugs must allow the user his freedom of choice whether that choice be right or wrong.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against Neo-Nazis promoting their doctrines must allow them that freedom of choice whether that choice be right or wrong.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against cutting down trees must allow others the freedom of choice within their own sphere whether that choice be right or wrong — as long as no great harm is done to the earth.

He who believes in the Principle of Freedom yet is against rules being laid down in a school, group or business must allow others freedom of choice within their own sphere of activity whether that choice be right or wrong — for the seeker retains the choice to work for another company, join another group or take another class.

Each potential disciple will have some final temptation to support the unreasonable restriction of others in the name of promoting his personal desire to see that which is good triumph. The deception is that true good can only magnify in an atmosphere of maximum possible freedom.

So the principle that the gathered lights will always apply is maximum freedom for the whole. The only time any freedom is taken away from the individual is when it increases the freedom for the whole. Like I say, we take away the burglar’s freedom because the burglar takes away the freedom of the whole so by taking away the burglar’s freedom we increase the freedom for the whole. The principle involved with freedom is the wholeness aspect; maximum freedom for the whole. The seat belt law is a simple little thing but it’s totally unnecessary to have a $200 fine for a seat belt infraction. It may force us to buckle up but on the other hand it creates big brother telling us what to do with outward authority over our lives.

What we need to develop is power to have our own personal freedom and do what is right because we decide to do what is right. We do right because we see what is right; to help our fellow man because we want to help our fellow man. By doing these things we can enhance the flow of the energy of God because the energy of the Holy Spirit operates on total freedom.

Where freedom is taken away, the Holy Spirit does not flow. People have gone to very oppressed nations and visited them, particularly Russia when it was totalitarian and was in full power-it’s a lot better now than it was-but when people have gone and visited these oppressed nations, people look depressed, they don’t talk to each other, there is no flow of ideas. They’re afraid that somebody will report what they’ve said. They’re afraid all the time. There is a spirit of fear. They’re doing what’s right maybe, according to the state, but they have no freedom.

The greatest evil is always generated when people are forced to do what is right. The force to do what is right has so much power behind it because they say, “We need to create a law to make this happen.” People say, “That would be good. Let’s go ahead and do it.” They don’t even think about the principle of freedom involved. They never argue the principle of freedom. When our legislators are talking about passing laws, they never think they’re taking away freedom. The argument is always over making people do what’s right. If they would only argue over what the maximum freedom would be generated. How can we make the law so freedom will not be infringed, freedom of the whole will be amplified rather than held back. There are, like I said, a small handful of laws for robberies and rapes and murders and these types of laws, are good for people but there are too many laws that infringe freedom.

Relative Perfection

Dec 1, 1998

Relative Perfection

Gabrielle originally made this comment: “For me it would be blasphemy to consider Christ anything less than the goodest most perfect creator God of the universe and to love Him and thank Him as such.”

I tried to ignore this line of thought and then Alice brought it up again. This time I perceived that there may be several who may want me to answer so I reluctantly proceeded. Why was I reluctant? Because I knew that if there were even several out there who were set into the orthodox view of Jesus or God that we would be sidetracked for some time. Nevertheless, we want to be open to all things and we have begun this plunge so perhaps we should continue for a while or it may become a “stumbling block” to some.

If we are going to have a productive argument or discussion the first thing to do is make sure we know what we are arguing about.

Since we are basically talking about the perfection of God let us first define “perfection” as it is usually used in relation to religious discussions.

Perfection: “A state of being, achievement or attainment which cannot be improved upon and from which no further progress or improvement is possible.”

When this idea is applied to worshipped beings such as Jesus or Jehovah it is done with the idea that they can never make a mistake. Every word, action, movement and creation they make is flawless.

Basically these poor gods have nowhere to go because they have it all. They have no goals because to move toward a goal of any kind would take them away from the perfection they are now experiencing. They have nothing to learn because they are perfect in their learning. There is actually nothing even left for them to create because their creation is perfect since they are perfect.

Such a delusion about any living entity in the universe is a great example of the deception that the Beast has fostered upon mankind. And the interesting thing about this idea is that it is found nowhere in the Bible, but the Beast creates the illusion for the masses that it is taught in the scriptures so control becomes that much easier.

Since the Beast uses even good things like the Bible as a tool of control it must make us think his most cherished teachings are in there whether they are or not.

So to sum it up the two sides of the argument is this:

ME: Ultimate Perfection is an illusion and actually undesirable. If we were to live in a state where there could not exist a goal to progress even higher then there would be no joy in living. The closest we get to perfection is what the Masters call “Relative Perfection.” With relative perfection one can reach a state where the entity has a skill down pat so he becomes a reliable performer or he has achieved a particular goal to his satisfaction, but soon he finds another skill to master and another goal to achieve.

OTHERS: God and Jesus are both the ultimate perfection and there is nothing they can do to become more perfect. Period. To quote Gabrielle “it would be blasphemy to consider Christ (Jesus the entity) anything less than the goodest most perfect creator God of the universe…”

It would be helpful if we have covered the second key here but we will plow with the horses we have.

First let me say that to put Jesus, Buddha and other religious icons in their right place and perspective is not blasphemous as truth is the highest form of religion and is never blasphemous. On the contrary to overstate their importance as the Beast did with Jesus in the Nicene Creed IS blasphemous and needs correction in the religious world. To put Jesus in his right place in the universe is a good thing, just as it would have been a good thing to put the emperor of Rome in his right place. Only by putting all things in their right place can the truth be seen. If one puts Jesus on even a higher pedestal than He belongs then all perception of Him and his words will be seen through a fog and high illusion will be the result.

Let’s use some logic here. To believe that Jesus the entity created the trillions of inhabited worlds out there and then picked this little planet to visit with His presence would make this little planet pretty much the most important place in the universe. This type of thinking is very similar to ancient man who thought that the earth was the center of the universe and even the Sun moved around it.

Do you really think that of all the trillions of worlds – this is the most important or at least one out of a trillion in importance? You would have to think this way if Jesus, the entity, created the whole universe and yet chose this little planet to visit.

Most metaphysical teachers see it much differently than this old time religion explanation. Many wise teachers correctly see that there is an entity who most correctly or most perfectly (not ultimate perfection by any measure) demonstrates the Christ energy and consciousness that exists in all of us. For this little planet the entity who has best demonstrated this consciousness was Jesus.

Jesus however, is a current native to this planet Earth and has little to do with any other star systems in this galaxy let alone the billions of other galaxies of billions of stars in this little universe. All these other systems with inhabited worlds have their own teachers who represent the Son of God and teach as Sons of God. They are totally separate entities from Jesus as we understand ‘separate” yet they are Jesus Christs to their worlds which merely means they are “anointed to save” their brothers and sisters. Remember the name Jesus Christ means “anointed to save” and there are billions of such beings so anointed.

Get ready for a shocker – something you will never learn in regular Bible class. I will now give you two Bible stories that definitely illustrate that the God of the Bible is not quote the epitome of perfection that the Beast has led you to believe.

Story Number One: Jacob At Peniel

The word “Israel” comes from the Hebrew YISRAEL. The first part of the word is derived from the prime root SARAH which literally means “to prevail” or to “have power”. It is sometimes used to indicate a princely or royal power. The second half of the word is EL. This word is translated as “God” numerous times throughout the Old Testament. When it is not used in this connection it means “mighty” or “strong” and implies superhuman goodness or strength.

If we put these combinations together we have several possible meanings among which are: “To prevail as God”, “to have royal power as God”, or “to prevail through great strength and goodness”. Some say that it should mean “prince of God”, but this is a watered down euphemism designed to conform to orthodoxy.

In examining the first rendition (“to prevail as God”) one may wonder why such a title would have been bestowed upon a man for surely man was not intended to prevail or have power as God. Is not this a bold title to assume?

It may seem bold, but it is also quite fitting, for did not Jacob prevail and have power over an angel of God, or possibly more than an angel? After the entity left it is written: “And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel (Which means the “face or appearance of God): for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Gen 32:30

Most religionists call this personage an angel, but the Bible does not. The scriptures call him two things. He is called “a man” (Gen 32:24) and “God (Gen 32:30). The amazing thing is that Jacob being a man prevailed over another person who was called a “God”. Therefore, he was given a name which meant “to prevail as God” for only a God could overpower another God.

CONCLUSION: Obviously God was not a perfect wrestler because Jacob beat the hell out of him and made him cry “uncle.” God was so impressed that he was bested by Jacob that he named him Israel -“to prevail as God.”

Story Number Two – Moses Outsmarts God

Moses was indeed a true Israelite for he prevailed as a god as Jacob did and got the best of another ELOHIYM. God was dismayed at the Tribes of Israel because they disobeyed Him and built the golden calf and had decided to destroy them all. The problem God faced in destroying them is that it would interfere with his promise to Abraham and to fulfill this promise he had to keep some of the promised seed for breeding so he told Moses: “Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.” Ex 32:10

Moses did not want all of his labors with the people to have been in vain so he reasoned with God and told him how embarrassing it would be before the eyes of the Egyptians. They would think that there is something wrong with a god that would save a people just to destroy them in the wilderness.

Still God did not change his mind so Moses then made one of the boldest moves in the history of the planet and placed God in a corner and forced his hand.

Moses reminded God that he would not be able to completely fulfill his promise to Abraham if he destroyed the whole house of Israel and left Moses alone.

WHY?

If God destroyed all of Israel except Moses, then God could only bring the promised seed through Moses. Thus if God executed His plan of destruction He would then need the full cooperation of Moses to fulfill His promise to Abraham.

Now Moses still had his free will and threatened to not cooperate with God. This would make God a covenant breaker if he executed his plan on the Tribes. Thus through the powerful reasoning of Moses, God was forced to change his mind. It is written: “And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.” Exodus 32:14 (Read the whole chapter.)

CONCLUSION: God here obviously did not have a “perfect knowledge” or he would have known the mind of Moses. He didn’t seem to have a clue that Moses would get the best of him in an argument or how Moses would respond to him. Moses actually caused God to “repent.” Does a perfect being repent? In other words, God realized his direction was wrong and went another direction.

This is not the only place where God “repents.” Other examples are:

God said: “It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king…And the Lord repented that He had made Saul king over Israel.” I Sam. 15:11&35. “and He repented that He made man” (Gen, 6;6) “and He repented of thinking to destroy Nineveh.” (Jonah 3:10).

Even though the Bible clearly teaches that God has his own flaws on his plane the religions still teach that some perfect being is at the helm heading everything up in their particular religion. Why is this?

This is part of the master plan of the Beast…

Why?

Think. What is the best way to control people? In other words, who are people most willing and eager to obey?

Would it be a God like the one who “repented” to Moses?

No.

Would it be a perfect God who never makes a mistake and his every word is infallible???

Yes. Definitely yes.

Then once you get the people believing in such a God what is the next step?

ANSWER: Establish God’s representative here on the earth who speaks his mind and will. Then once you have such a man (or woman) what do you have?

You then have a voice for yourself that is as potent as having the perfect God right down here on earth in your pocket!

Once you have the perfect God’s words here on earth available for your use (even if they are wonderful words) you can then take those words and alter them (the way they have done with the Bible) and then use the perfect God’s words through his perfect representative to create an absolute control over the people. The Beast takes away the power of the common people to think because you do not question the words of a “perfect” God. When you no longer question you can then be herded about like a beast who only awaits the next push from his master to determine his direction. The trained beast does not think or question the command of his master – he merely obeys.

It’s time the people of Light are finally taught the same principle that Moses understood. To be like Moses you must even question the perfection of God. Who knows? You may get him to change his mind as Moses did.

Does this mean we will be frustrated in our efforts to improve ourselves if we question the perfection of God???

No. The answer is just the opposite. When I used to think Jesus was a perfect sterile being in the standard religious sense I felt discouraged about the possibility of being like him. I found Abraham Lincoln much more inspiring because he had flaws, but he rose above them. He was not perfect, but he turned out pretty good. This was someone I could sink my teeth into. Here was a man that set an example I could shoot for, but Jesus??? Well I had already made a lot of mistakes so being like the flawless Son of God like Jesus was out of the question.

Then when I found out the truth about Relative Perfection Jesus shot right up there at the top of my list where he belonged. I realized that I could be like him after all – I realized that He was a practical role model.

If you had an opportunity to play basketball and everyone else on the team was as talented as Michael Jordan, how long would you play even if the coach let you?

Not for long. There is just too much of gap between you and the other players. Instead of having joy from playing you would become depressed.

The standard view of Jesus and other religious icons takes the joy out of religion for the same reason. You are just never good enough.

I thank God in my heart every day I have escaped this delusion of the Beast.

I just finished studying the life of John Kennedy. He had a lot of flaws, but I found many things about him that inspired me and made me aspire to higher things.

Winston Churchill has been a hero of mine yet he was overweight and smoked cigars. Does that make the fact that he almost single handedly stood up to Hitler any less inspiring to me?

No.

When we see any other life form as more or less than a spiritually equal brother we are just inviting the Beast to take control of our lives and we will be oblivious to what is happening as we are being manipulated.

Be ye therefore Perfect

There are three Greek words translated as “perfect” in the Bible. The two main ones are TELEIOO and AKRIBELA. AKRIBELA is the one equivalent to the way we use “perfect” in our English, especially the way people talk about God. However, in the Bible AKRIBELAwas used in a negative way to describe those who crucified Jesus. The religious people of his day believed in AKRIBELA.

The scripture “Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” is a mistranslation in almost every Bible available. Why? Because the illusion of perfection is so important for the religious world to maintain.

In this scripture “perfect” is mistranslated from TELEIOO which means “Complete, finish and puts forth the idea of finishing a job or goal that you have.”

Now let’s translate this verse correctly as Jesus meant it:

“Therefore finish (or complete) the work you are given to do even as your Father in Heaven completes His.”

Isn’t the true rendering the more practical advice?

Again I will repeat: You have to read from a mistranslated Bible to teach the perfection of God or man. The doctrine of perfection, as the religious world understands it, is just not in there. If you do not believe me go to any standard Christian bookstore and buy a concordance (Strong’s is the best) and look these words up. This knowledge is available to all the Bible believers.

The Tricky Beast

Nov 30, 1998

Why Study the Beast?

Lelona Writes:

So far, Rev. 13:1 is about a physical structure and hierarchy/monarchy. If I never meet a Pope, Eminence, etc., how am I to use this information? What good does it do me to know what I now know? I mean no disrespect to your intelligence, and perhaps it emphasizes my ignorance.

ANSWER: This is about much more than recognizing the Beast in the rich and famous. The reason this chapter is important is because ALL of us are to some degree under the dominion of the Beast. Before we can be delivered from the power of the Beast we must understand what it is.

Only by being delivered from the power of the Beast can any group of people unite heaven and earth to the extent that the spiritual powers of the kingdom of God become available to the human kingdom.

This is impossible if we do not even understand what is holding us back.

The Tricky Beast

Several of you have given some great responses about the “deadly wound.” Rick and Dave come to mind. All your comments were good.

Let us quote the scripture again:

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the Beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the Beast: and they worshipped the Beast, saying, Who is like unto the Beast? Who is able to make war with him? Rev 13:3-4

For many thousand of years the Beast through Kings, religious leaders and other authorities exercised an unjust authority over the human race. But finally a group of people rebelled against the kingdoms and established a government by the people of the people and for the people.

It is interesting to note that the Constitution and Bill of Rights gave power to the people by limiting the power of government. Over and over they say what “Congress shall NOT” do. Thus the Beast was wounded because it was finally told by the people who created it that there were a lot of things it could no longer do. It could no longer do unreasonable search and seizures. It could no longer use cruel and unusual punishments. Laws shall be made by elected officials and not the king. The beast cannot make a person testify against himself. Eventually even slavery was outlawed.

Now because of this Constitution even the Beast was wounded in Britain. Eventually, the power of Royalty there was taken away and one by one the nations of the world copied the principles of the Constitution and attempted to emulate a free government.

So now everything is great – Right?

Not quite. The beast went right to work seeking desperately to survive. The tendency of people to follow an unearned authority was still present and he worked with that weakness in man.

First he sought to control the elected officials by making sure those who run for office are people who love power and authority. Then, when they are elected they seek to control them through thoughtforms, through special interests, self interest, ego, corruption and money.

Since complete control of elected officials is not possible the Beast sought to add to our system as many appointed officials who would run the real government business. An appointed official then becomes like a little king over his dominion that does not have to answer to the people. Thus we have little unelected Kings controlling all departments of government such as tax collecting, the Department of Energy, Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, Department of Transportation and so on. Over 90% of government in our lives is carried out under strong authority of unelected mini Kings. Day after day, week after week, year after year the power of these kingdoms within what seems to be a free society is increased.

In the old days of the Beast the populace was aware that they were ruled by the king, but what makes this age different is that we think we are in this great Democracy when the Beast often has as much control over our lives as did the emperor in ancient Rome.

The deadly wound has been healed and the people wonder after the power of authority as it reaches its tentacles all over the world and into every life so we are all effected.

A book could be written on the devices the Beast uses to keep his control. As we continue we shall see how the power of the Beast reaches down to each one of us every day of our lives and how we must see through the illusion.

A reader made a great statement here:

“You may never actually meet a Pope. Maybe your only contact will be through something like, oh, I dunno…. Pope TV? But you will be able to recognize whether or not the Pope exercises authority in a positive or negative manner. You will be able to question whether the Pope resonates with your Higher Self. And, if need be, you will be able to help others see the Truth as well.

“Remember, it just takes one person to stand up and say, “Now what the Hell did *that* mean?!” And, before you know it, you have an epidemic of people questioning authority.”

The next verses to consider are:

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the Beast: and they worshipped the Beast, saying, Who is like unto the Beast? who is able to make war with him?

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. Rev 13:4-10

Discovering the New Age, Part 2

Discovering the New Age, Part 2

Sorting out Mind from Emotion

The core difference between the old age and the new is emotional polarization vs mental. DK emphasizes that a great benefit of the coming age is that people will shift to the mental plane in their thinking, “the plane whereon the Masters can be found.”

Humanity has made some progress in this direction but the vast majority are still emotionally polarized. If you confront their dogmatic beliefs with logic and reason they will just tune out, reject and seek to have their astral ideals reinforced.

There are a lot of things I could present, from the plane of the mind, concerning political beliefs that would be instantly rejected by many students. Such controversy usually accomplishes little but the establishment of grievances. Instead I am going to present several items of a political nature that most would agree must be handled with logic over feeling. If we can see eye to eye on these then perhaps a door may be open for wider agreement.

The first item to examine is the completely illogical and outrageous national debt.

By the end of the Obama administration the debt will be around $20 trillion dollars. That is about a quarter of a million dollars owed by a typical family of four.

And where can you find a typical family of four to come up with the quarter million cash to pay their share?

You can’t.

So the politicians just kick the can down the road in hope that the someone in the future will be responsible for the reckoning.

Is it logical that our government has run up such a huge debt in our name?

No.

Is it logical that the American people just acquiesced and let them do it?

No.

Is it logical that millions of Americans encouraged such borrowing and support it to this day?

No.

So, what accounts for this madness? Does it come the emotions or the mind?

Obviously such recklessness does not come from a people centered in reason, but from the emotional plane where logic usually takes a back seat.

But even emotional people have a brain. We all know lots of emotional people that still handle their budget in a reasonable way. How could we have let this happen to or country?

The answer is really quite simple. We the people have just not been paying attention to the details. We have trusted our financial fate to politicians and they tell us that there is no problem with the money they are spending… not to worry.

If we compared our country to a family it would go like this.

Jeb has a credit card with a very high limit but just makes an average salary. There are many things the family desires that cannot be obtained with his salary alone. Since his wife and kids are always complaining about what they do not have Jeb feels under pressure and starts to cave. He drives a used car but everyone wants a new one, and a sporty one at that. He buys one with his magical credit card and is a big hit with all in the family except little Eddie. Eddie is a smart little kid, a whiz on computers, gadgets and numbers.

“How are you going to pay for this car, Dad?” He asks.

Everyone turns on Eddie and frowns. His skepticism seems to spoil their excitement.

“Don’t worry about it,” says Dad.

“Yeah, don’t worry about it,” the others echoed.

Now the family had been pretty frugal with buying their groceries and Jeb was getting complaints that the neighbors eat better than they do. He thought about the praise he had received for buying the new car so he thought, “What the heck! I’ll buy better quality groceries with the credit card. After all, why should we do without when the neighbors have what they want?”

Jeb started buying quality foods with his credit card and soon little Eddie voiced concern about where the money was coming from. Jeb had some second thoughts and cut the grocery budget for a few weeks, but got so many complaints from the rest of the family that he went back to buying the good stuff. He thought, “We deserve this,” and threw in some expensive wine on the purchases.

Soon his son, Andy, graduated from High School and wanted to go to a good college. They had enough money set aside for him to go to a local junior college and live at home, but Andy didn’t like that idea.

Andy told his Dad, “I don’t want to go to the local backwoods college and stay at home. That is humiliating when all my friends are going to the good university in the big city.”

Jeb responded, “But, son, that would cost three times as much as the local college, especially considering, higher tuition and room and board.”

“But Dad, it’s for a good cause. It’ll give me a greater chance to get a good job.”

Jeb hesitates, “We just don’t have the money son.”

Andy triumphantly comes back with, “But you have that great credit card and if you really loved me and wanted what is best for me then you would use it.”

Jeb did love his son and he felt guilty that such love was ever in question so he gave in and sent Andy to the good college.”

Little Eddie voiced some concern about the large debt and interest accumulating on the credit card, but the Mother said, “You love Andy, don’t you?’

“Yes,’ said Eddie.

“You want what is best for him don’t you?”

“Of course.”

“Then let us get behind supporting him and sending him to the good college that he deserves,” said the Mother.

You see where this is going? Soon, not a month goes by that some new desire to spend for a benevolent purpose surfaces. There seems to be no end to good spending causes for the family.

And what is the inevitable result of such recklessness? Basically the same as a Ponzi Scheme.

Soon the payments and interest become so great that Jeb has to make payments by charging them to the card itself.

Finally comes the day that the bank carefully examines Jeb’s situation and becomes alarmed. They completely cut off his credit and take his card back. Then they demand payment in full. They tell him that if he doesn’t have the savings to pay then all his assets will be sold and proceeds taken by the bank.

The Jeb family then suffers a total disaster. They have to sell their car, their house and Andy has to drop out of college and get a low paying job. They now barely have enough for groceries and all other wonderful purchases are sold or returned.

Now they have nothing of value.

And why?

Because they followed desire/emotion rather than reason.

What could have prevented the disaster?

The solution was extremely simple. They should have only bought what they could afford and when they saw they were over extended they merely needed to cut back on their spending. They needed to realize that they could not afford everything they desired, even if the desired seemed to be benevolent.

Now the really odd thing is this.

Most families are fairly responsible with their credit cards and even the majority of the more irresponsible ones do not go so crazy that they will suffer a collapse through purchases that are not absolute necessities.

Now we, as a nation are like a big family that has a huge credit card, as did Jeb. Most of us can stand back and look at Jeb’s decisions and see them for what they are. They were based on the old age emotion desire aspect and not the Aquarian reasoning.

BUT…

Half or more of our population seem to have no problem with our exorbitant debt or adding much more to it as long as part of the money spent fulfills some of their personal desires they see as benevolent.

So I ask this question. Do decisions that support this dangerous spending come from the plane of the mind or the emotional/astral? Are they related to the old age, attached to desire or the new, seeking a mental polarization?

One would think that all but those anchored like cement on the old age would see where the mental polarization would lie.

Conclusion: Those attached to the old age, linked to the desire nature, will support totally irresponsible spending, even for many things that are not real necessities, to get what they want.

The mentally polarized will seek to a balanced budget and responsible spending, even if some of the good things they desire are not obtained. Instead they will work to obtain their desires through practical and logical and harmless means.

Discovering the New Age, Part 1

Discovering the New Age, Part 1

There has been a lot of talk in new age and esoteric circles about Piscean and Aquarian qualities and aspects that surface in our society. The Piscean is generally associated with the old that is passing away and no longer applicable and the Aquarian with the new that will be a part of the new age of peace, prosperity, love etc.

The problem with numerous assumptions made is that many tend to associate their own ideals and bias with the coming great age and associate all they dislike with the passing age of Pisces, generally seen as a pretty bad age that we should be happy to leave behind, or bury with the dead bones of the ignorant. Nowhere is this attitude more prominent than in the political world. The political view that is supported is seen as Aquarian and the opposing side is seen as old age or Piscean.

Let us attempt to put aside prejudices and do our best look at this subject objectively. The first thing we must do is draw a demarcation between Piscean and Aquarian characteristics so we can spot them in today’s climate. Without doing this it is pretty meaningless to just state that Joe the bartender’s views are old age with no light to them.

In examining the two ages we must not only take into consideration the astrological aspects, but also the Rays. The rays three, five and seven are active and closely linked to mind and harmonize well with Aquarius which is an air sign. Air is a symbol of the mind. Ray seven will produce the greatest changes in the near future and it is associated with Uranus, the ruling planet of Aquarius.

Just as Pisces is passing away so is the dominating ray of that age which is six. Pisces is a water sign, symbolic of emotions and ray six is the most emotional of the rays, governing the solar plexus. The water influence of Pisces with the idealism of ray six makes for a very emotional age where the people will often follow a course that runs contrary to logic.

As we read the history of the past two thousand years we indeed see that strong illogical emotions often governed the day rather than the voice of reason.

That said, let us tabulate some of the qualities of the passing age as well as the new.

Pisces

Strong emotional dominance, often powerful enough to override reason, logic and facts.

A focus on an ideal that stirs the emotional center. This causes people to emphasize perfection and is why there has been so much attention placed on Jesus as the perfect man who is linked to a perfect God.

A focus on sacrificing for the ideal in hope of benefiting in the next world.

An emphasis on strong authority that takes the place of analytical thinking.

Seeing things in black and white rather than the nuances in between.

A willingness to put individual freedom aside and be controlled by external powers. Slavery was widespread during the past age and individual freedom suppressed and often seen as heresy.

Strong judgmental approach. The Inquisition was an example of this.

Aquarius

People will switch from an emotional polarization to a more mental one. Logic and reason will play a much lager roll in decision making.

Growing focus will be placed on service for the good of the many.

Less emphasis will be placed on the ideal and perfection and more on what works and benefits humanity.

Using sacrifice to achieve a goal in hope of benefiting in the this world.

An emphasis of questioning authority and finding out the truth for oneself through his own efforts.

There will be a moving away from the black and white judgmental attitude and people will attain a broader scope of vision, seeing many shades of gray.

Maximum freedom will be sought and secured by the establishment of just and fair laws supported by the will of the majority of the people.

The seventh ray, which governs business, will influence business to continue to evolve. We will see more employee owned businesses and various types of cooperatives surface. Law, which is also seventh ray, will begin to adhere to the Law of Economy and assist business and the people rather than creating unwarranted obstacles.

If I had to distil the differences of the two ages down to a paragraph it would be this.

Decision-making in passing age of Pisces was governed by emotion and influenced by strong authority. In the new age it will be governed by mind, putting logic and reason ahead of feelings.

Right now we are between the two ages. The emotional control of Pisces still dominates over mind. The reason for this lingering of emotional control is that there are still many sixth ray egos incarnating and, according to DK, we’ll still see a lot of them for the next 120 years. After that, the sixth ray will be mostly out of incarnation and we will see the rise of a humanity that is capable of being polarized in the mind, which makes logical decisions rather than feel-good emotional ones that often lead to disaster.

Let us hope that civilization holds together until that day arrives.

Many of the things that have been accepted by the majority of seekers as positive change are correctly seen as Aquarian, or new age, in tendency. Here are a few:

(1) The shift away from authoritarian rule toward democracy. There is still way too much authoritarianism, but we are much better off than was the world in the midst of the Piscean Age.

(2) The shift toward the scientific method and acceptance of proven scientific discoveries.

(3) The shift away from absolute control of the church and religious authorities.

(4) The shift away from teachings that have no foundation in logic and common sense. There are still a lot of non-sensible teachings afloat, but humanity has taken a few steps toward the more logical side of things.

(5) The abolition of slavery and the shift toward greater individual and group freedom.

Wendell Phillips reminded us that this shift could be temporary. He said, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few.”

Indeed we always have the power hungry seeking to control the many for the benefit of the few.

(6) The rise of charitable and service organizations that help those in need.

(7) The rise of spiritual investigation not connected with any church or dogma.

(8) The dramatic increase in technology, including. Technology involving air and space travel is particularly Aquarian, though technology as applied to business is strong also.

Now let us examine the controversial items on which there is much division, not only among spiritual seekers but all classes of people.

Paramount among them are:

Which political candidate to support?

Since both sides of the equation represent numerous issues, examining the choice becomes complicated. To determine whether one is Pisces or Aquarian in approach he needs to ask himself this question.

Is my decision on which party or candidate to support based on emotion or mind, reaction or reason, the good of the whole or satisfying the part?

The tricky thing about sorting out those who make decisions based on emotion is that many emotionally based people are found on both sides of the political equation. An emotionally based choice that is the better of the two is generally based on luck, but it often happens. They happen to get their data from a correct source or authority and it feels right to them so they go with it because of how it makes them feel. Without using the weight of mind though they will often make the wrong choice in other matters. Only through the application of mind, reason and logic can humanity as a whole consistently make the choice that is the greater good.

Another problem is that the person who makes a choice because of emotional polarization doesn’t see it that way. Many such people are very intelligent with good memories and have lots of facts, statistics and talking points in their computer brains. Almost all people whether they be polarized in the mind or emotions see themselves as following the path of reason and common sense. No one likes to think otherwise, no matter how unreasonable their conclusions may be.

If many of those making feeling based decisions are also intelligent then why would they stay with the emotional decision over the reasonable one?

The answer is that the emotions are very powerful. Everyone perceives the emotion of love on some level and feel that if their decision is based on this then it is the most reasonable in the end. The problem is that there are many glamours and illusions in the way of seeing perfect love, so being motivated by the emotion of love, especially solar plexus love, is not an accurate guide for decision making.

First, one must go though the avenues of the mind and learn to see the wisdom aspect of the heart center to see reality as it is. When the seeker has done this then he can make wise decisions as well as do that which is in harmony with inclusiveness and loving our fellow men and women.

Here is how it works for the intelligent, but emotionally polarized person.

He examines the surface of the issues and one side just feels much better than the other. From that point on his feelings cause a possible open mind to shut down. Instead of looking for the truth wherever it may lie he only looks for facts and reason that will verify his original feeling. He then proceeds with all the resources of a mentally polarized person to gather information to prove to himself and others that his feeling was correct.

An example of this we can all relate to is the illusion prevalent for thousands of years that the earth was the center of the universe with the sun and all the stars circling around it.

Now, all things considered, there was only a 50/50 chance that the sun circled around the earth. It was equally possible that it was the earth that circled around the sun. Why then was it that over 99% of the population believed the illusion?

The answer is simple. Each emotionally based person feels himself to be the center of the universe, so naturally the earth on which he resides is also the center of all things.

The idea that the earth is the glorious center of all creation harmonized with feelings of the Piscean aged people. We, as a people, had to be dragged away from this idea, kicking and screaming, until realty stared us in the face with such power that we were forced to acquiesce.

Today, both the emotionally and mentally polarized yield to the proof that it is the earth that circles around the sun.

BUT… that old idea still has residual power causing many intelligent, but deluded people to believe that:

  • The earth is the only planet in the universe with life.
  • The earth is special in God’s eyes and is the crown jewel of the universe.
  • The earth is the center of a great battle between the forces of good and evil in the universe.

The truth is that earth is only one of trillions of planets in the universe with various forms of life. It is more beautiful than most, but not unique or the center of anything except from this point of view. Every creation and life in the universe is a center from which all things in its periphery must be discovered.

Casting out Fear

June 17, 2016

Casting out Fear

Duke asks:

Is there a correspondence of love to gravity, in that both are an attractive or unifying force whose influence and effect extend well beyond the immediate locale, and even though it may not be the strongest force in play at a particular moment or place, given sufficient time its effects become quite large?

JJ

Indeed there is a strong correspondence. They are both female energies that pull from the periphery to the center.

Radiance, light, the visible and outgoing activity are male and love, gravity, magnetism and the invisible are female.

It is interesting that the time that Newton discovered the laws of gravity coincides with the turning of the cycle where females started to come into their power. Like gravity and love the natural powers of the female are invisible and easily overlooked if you are not paying attention. Also like gravity and love the female energies hold all things together in the universe. One can see active male energy at play, but you only see and feel the effects of the female energies.

A truism speaks of the “feminine mystique.” Feminine energies are indeed mysterious and can only be understood by looking beyond the obvious.

Us males are pretty simple creatures. What you see is what you get – in most cases.

Duke continues:

in First John chapter 4 verse 18 we read: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear.”

If we accept these statements, then logically, where there is fear, there is not perfect love.

JJ

The key to understanding this verse is the idea that “perfect love casteth out fear.”

Fear is basically a concern over the possibility of loss. Losses that concern us are our lives, our health, our finances, relationships etc.

When one unexpectedly faces a loss the last thing that will normally come to mind will be perfect love. If your brakes give out on your car and you see yourself headed toward a cliff facing certain death you are not likely to let go of the wheel and enter into a state of quiet bliss where you can access the perfect love. You are going to react to the fear caused by the possibility of loss of life and do everything in your power to avoid going over the cliff.

The early Christians faced the situation of displeasing the emperor and getting fed to the lions or worse. Which ones of us would not face some fear if we encountered soldiers approaching our doorway with intent to haul you away from family and friends to certain torture and death? Perhaps overriding a fear for self may be a fear over how loved ones, who depend on you, are going to survive after you are gone.

Now put yourself in that early Christian’s situation. You are torn asunder from your loved ones as well as doing work for Christ and the church. You are now in a cage awaiting a release to the lions where you will surely be mangled to death.

The one thing you have is a little time to reflect. You use this time wisely and seek communion with God. As you go deeply within you feel a great sense of peace and love that eclipses all your fears and concerns. In this instant you dwell in perfect love and it has indeed cast out all fear. You now face the terrible situation ahead of you in a state of peace with all fears cast out. All sense of loss is gone as you realize you are going to gain much more in the end than the loss which is before you.

Perfect love cannot cast out fear unless there are some fears there in the first place to be cast out. And the perfect love does not come in a vacuum. It comes to he who works in active service for his fellow brothers and sisters, the high and low, the rich and poor and, yes, conservatives and liberals.

Perfect love is an attainment in consciousness after many travails. Many fears must first be met, mastered and defeated. A person must first be willing to lose all things connected with the material world and it takes many lifetimes to attain this state of mind.

In the meantime, all of us can experience love to a certain degree and use this love to cast out our fears and press forward.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

Plato

Love, Hate & Fear

June 15, 2016

Love, Hate & Fear

There has been a lot of dialog over these three subjects during the past few decades. From the thinking presented much inspiration has surfaced as well as quite a bit of obscure thinking which has led to some illusion.

Let us take a fresh look at these three words and their relationship to each other.

Some have said that love is the opposite of hate, others that it is the opposite of fear. Then A Course in Miracles says it has no opposite. What is the truth here?

The truth depends on how we define our words. Now some say that love cannot be defined but only experienced, but consider this. All things were created by the Word of God and are extensions of the originating Word. Because all things are related to that Word then all things that are true can be encapsulated in a word, or words. Love can indeed be defined, or reduced to words. If one cannot do this then he doesn’t understand it fully.

Part of the problem of defining love with words is that there are numerous levels of understanding of what it is and each level of understanding would define it a little differently. Therefore, instead of micro analyzing it let us look at the general principle.

In the beginning was the One that multiplied Itself and became the many. In the end, the many unite and merge and again become the One. Love is that force which draws the many back to their source so they eventually become the one and enter into the great rest of God — pralaya.

Love can only exist when there is more than one life. It is the attraction of one life towards another life with the immediate goal of union and the ultimate goal of going back to the One Source. It only manifests in the many. When the many return to the One then Love enters a state of rest for there is no longer the many to be pulled into the One.

We could say that life is the point of love at the center that draws all life to each other and to itself.

So what would be the opposite then?

The opposite would be a force that pushes life away from each other as well as their source.

Hate and fear can cause people to be repelled from each other, but it can also cause them to make alliances and get closer to others of like minds. Therefore, hate and fear are not exact opposites of love.

Since love is a power of attraction then a closer opposite would be repulsion. You can be repelled from something without hating or fearing it. In this reality you may realize that it is just not in your best interests to be in close proximity to a certain life and it is best to keep your distance. You may not hate a lion, but you do not desire to get in a cage with one. In this world there are many separations caused by common sense rather than hate or fear.

So, is there any truth to the idea love has no opposite because it is eternal? In the worlds of form this does not make sense, but when viewed from the highest aspect of ourselves in the formless worlds it does. The highest part of ourselves is linked to all other lives and does not suffer separation and dwells in consummated love in the Eternal Now. It has no opposite. But on this physical plane there is indeed perceived separation. There is attraction and repulsion so opposition does indeed exist here and does wherever there is form.

Now let us look at hate. Hate may sometimes cause repulsion, the opposite of love, but it can sometimes lead to seeking out the cause of the hate and staying in close association with him or her. Instead of moving away from the source of hate the hater may follow the person around and cause as many problems as possible. In extreme cases the hater will seek to utterly destroy the thing or person hated.

In some cases a person may experience love and hate toward the same person. You may have an argument with your spouse and insult each other and feel hate for a time, but during this feeling you realize that you love the person more than you hate them.

The love referred to here is indeed a lower reflection of pure love, but it is an aspect nevertheless.

Now let us look at fear. This is far from being the opposite of love for sometimes it may surface because of love. Let us say that Jim has great love for his wife and kids and is the only source of income for them but has a temperamental boss. He may have a strong fear that he may be fired and not be able to support his family. If he were single he would not care or fear as much.

Other times fear can cause repulsion. If you disturb a hive of bees you would want to follow your fear and move in the opposite direction as quickly as possible.

Some talk of fear as if it is just a temporary thing that the enlightened can easily overcome, but there are many fears on many levels with which even great lives must contend. Would you be surprised to learn that even the Christ had to deal with a fear that he may not complete his mission as hoped, or that he feels a great tension (related to fear) about coming again and walking among us?

DK wrote that “Fear has its roots in the warp and woof of matter itself.” Since the matter of the universe is the physical body of God this means that God Itself has fear woven in the fabric of his body.

Joseph Smith made this interesting statement; “What did Jesus do? Why I do the things I saw my Father do when worlds came rolling into existence. My Father worked out his kingdom with fear and trembling, and I must do the same; and when I get my kingdom, I shall present it to my Father, so that he may obtain kingdom upon kingdom, and it will exalt him in glory. he will then take a higher exaltation, and I will take his place, and thereby become exalted myself.” Teachings Of The Prophet Joseph Smith; pages 347-8

The apostle Paul said: “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Phil 2:12

The main thing that causes fear is an approach to the unknown with the possibility of loss. If you are in a battle for your life there is a possibility of loss and if the outcome is unknown there will be fear. He who thinks otherwise is fooling himself.

When God created the universe he did not know of all the problems he would encounter and this fear became embedded in the fabric of the worlds of form.

The key to dealing with fear is not to deny its existence, or pretend one is above it, but to face it and deal with it. There is no courage without fear. The courageous soul will move forward toward a good end despite fears and in the end discover the peace of God and obtain a rest from all the fears and cares of the lower worlds.

The Illusion of Perfection, Part 2

Nov 30, 1998

The Illusion of Perfection, Part 2

I will make several comments about Gabrielle’s comments on my comments.

The main thing I am trying to get across here is that perfection is an illusion. What perfection is, is different for each person. To the Jews who crucified Jesus, he was one of the most imperfect beings who ever lived. To the born again Christian he is completely flawless.

The interesting thing is that the early Apostles realized this. NO WHERE in the Bible do they call Jesus perfect (AKRIBELA). In fact they do not even call God perfect.

Gabrielle quotes John 17:23 “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

Again we have a mistranslation that is used by all the current advocates of the orthodox view of Jesus.

The word perfect here is again translated from the Greek TELEIOO which means “complete,” “completion of a job” or “Finished.”

Thus the correct translation is: “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made COMPLETE (or Whole) in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”

The word equivalent to the modern word perfect is AKRIBELA and if you check your Bible Concordance you will not find this word ever used in connection with God or Jesus.

The early teachers understood the Hebrew and were familiar with the Revelation of Moses and the wise knew that Jehovah, Jesus, Peter, you and me are all in a state of becoming and that if a being could become perfect then his purpose for existence would cease.

Here are some interesting questions to ask someone who believes in perfection:

IS GOD PERFECT

QUESTION: Is God perfect?

ANSWER: Yes.

QUESTION: Then you believe that God does not make mistakes?

ANSWER: Yes. He doesn’t make mistakes.

QUESTION: Did God create you?

ANSWER: Yes.

QUESTION: Are you perfect?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: But if God created imperfect beings such as ourselves then He would have to be imperfect, wouldn’t he?

ANSWER: No, God is perfect and created us perfect, but He has given us our freewill and, using this freewill, we do imperfect things.

QUESTION: But who created your freewill? ANSWER: God.

QUESTION: So we come back to the same conclusion. God created you in an imperfect state. How can you believe that God is perfect? ANSWER: You are twisting things. (This is the answer a person gives when he doesn’t want to face truth or admit that he has been wrong.)

QUESTION: Did God create the earth, the minerals, plants and animals?

ANSWER: Yes.

QUESTION: I notice that animals are also not perfect. Some get sick; others are dangerous and bite people. Did God make them imperfect?

ANSWER: I’m not sure.

QUESTION: How about plants and minerals? Very few crystals are nearly perfect and many plants are misshapen and off color. If God is perfect and He created everything, then why is everything not perfect?

ANSWER: It’s because of man’s original sin that all this imperfection came into the world.

QUESTION: But, apparently imperfection was already in the world, for the imperfect serpent was here when man arrived. Was man responsible for the creation of the imperfect serpent?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: So then one must conclude that man is not responsible for all the imperfection in the world. Is this right?

ANSWER: I guess.

QUESTION: So who is responsible for imperfect creations?

ANSWER: The Devil. God makes things perfect, but man and the Devil corrupt them.

QUESTION: So when were you created perfect by God?

ANSWER: When I was born.

QUESTION: Are you saying then that all babies are perfect when they are born?

ANSWER: Well, I know that some are born without limbs and with defects. I must have been perfect when I was conceived.

QUESTION: But you were not created when you were conceived, and we know that nature aborts many conceptions, so even they are not perfect. If God is perfect and we are created at birth by Him, then why are not all babies perfect?

ANSWER: You are twisting things.

QUESTION: Do you really believe that God is perfect or is that just what you have been programmed to think?

ANSWER: You’ve got me confused. What’s your answer?

The answer: perfection in the world of form is an illusion and is in the mind of the beholder. The closest we come to it is called “relative perfection.”

Gabrielle also quotes the first few verses of John. These verses are very much misunderstood by the religious world.

The Bible says yes. It tells us that there is a hierarchy in all things, even the Gods: “If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth (many scholars think that this refers to Jehovah) AND THERE BE HIGHER THAN THEY.” Eccl 5:8

The Duay version renders it this way: “If thou see the oppressions of the poor, and violent judgments, and justice perverted, in the province, wonder not at this matter: for he that is high hath another higher, and there are others still higher than these.”

The Bible does tell about a God who created all the heavens who must be a lot higher than the God of the earth. It also tells us that he made the worlds through the power of the Son of God. (Hebrews 1:1-3) It makes it sound as if it was Jesus, the man from Nazareth, who created the trillions of worlds out there and is perhaps the one God that is over all things.

This belief is further reinforced because Jesus is identified as the Word in the first chapter of John by the Christian world: “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS GOD. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 1:1-4.

This sounds confusing. God is identified with men, the God of this earth, the creator of all the heavens, and now as the man Jesus who created all things. What really did create all things? A more correct translation will help here. The Concordant Version does the best job in rendering the original Greek in John 1:1-4: “In the beginning was the word, and the word was toward God, and God was the word. This is in the beginning toward God. All came into being through IT (not Him), and apart from IT not even one thing came into being which has come into being. In IT was life, and the life was the light of men.”

There is a major revelation here in this more correct translation. The Word is an “it” and not a “he”. The original translators of the King James wanted to glorify Jesus to the position of the creator of all the heavens so they changed “it” to “he”. Some of the modern translations give an honest rendering but most show their bias by keeping the “he”.

The original word “it” is very significant. This indicates that “it” is an energy (words are vibration and vibration is energy) and not a single person. The same is true with the Son of God. It is not just the man Jesus, but all who reach the Christ consciousness can be Sons of God. Jesus was a representative on this earth (not the originator) for the power of the Word of God, or the Son energy.

There is a hierarchy of beings of a diverse magnitude of consciousness who are tuned into the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost energies. There are billions of entities in each category throughout the universe and even though Jesus is the greatest teacher of humanity many others on other worlds are greater than he.

After a thousand years of relative peace he who occupies the position of Christ will leave this system and become a student on another one. Thus “the first shall be last and the last first.”

Jesus himself is an individual entity like you and me, but the Christ principle is a point of interplay between Spirit and matter that our consciousness must attune to discover the mysteries of God.

The Illusion of Perfection, Part One

Nov 29, 1998

The Illusion of Perfection, Part One

Alice writes: “The crucifixion was the (historical) event and the resurrection was the healing.” Even though this was not the answer we were looking for it is interesting how the Dark Forces always seem to copy, in some degree, that which the Brothers of Light do or teach. Christ did receive a deadly wound and was healed and the beast is doing the same thing in its own way.

Alice wants me to comment on Gabrielle’s questions so here goes. Gabrielle first quotes me:

JJ Dewey: “Jesus did not even want the take the chance of looking too “good” to his followers, but now the mindless followers think it is blasphemy to call Him anything less than the goodest, most perfect creator God of the universe.”

Gabrielle’s Remarks: “For me it would be blasphemy to consider Christ anything less than the goodest most perfect creator God of the universe and to love Him and thank Him as such. The Gnostics might disagree with this, I understand, however I cannot see Father God despising such a love – a love for love (in Christ).”

“The mindless followers had heart. Jesus asked them to go out and love one another. Mind is good too, but His doctrine did not say firstly: go out and be mindful about one another. We have also been warned that it is dangerous to call a good an evil.”

JJ

My remarks may offend some, but I stand by them. If you talk to any standard religious person and say anything else about Jesus but that he is “the goodest, most perfect creator God of the universe.” they will think you are speaking blasphemy.

Actually it is far from blasphemy for nowhere in the Bible is Jesus called perfect. All mentions of his perfection are a mistranslation. One of the main scriptures speaking of the perfection of Jesus is as follows: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.” Heb 5:8-9

Before we go on and discuss perfection it is important that we understand the word as it is used in the Bible. There are three basic Greek words that are translated as “perfect” or “perfection” in the King James Version. The first and most popular is TELEIOO and the corresponding TELEIOS. This word does not really mean perfection as we think of the word today, but more literally means “to finish, accomplish, or complete.”

The second word is KATARTIZO. This word means to complete or finish, but in a different sense. TELEIOO has the implication of finishing a new work or effort one has taken on whereas KATARTIZO implies a restoration to something as it was in the past. Both words imply wholeness, but the first through a new task, the second through a restoration.

The third word is AKRIBELA and derivatives thereof. This is the closest Greek word to our modern word “perfect”. It means: “to do a thing precisely and exactly correct.” Paul used this word in reference to the way the Jews taught the law: “I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the PERFECT (exact) manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as YE ALL ARE this day.” Acts 22:3

When the Bible believing people of today talk about Jesus being perfect they usually use the word in the same sense that AKRIBELA was used. That is they think that Jesus obeyed all the laws “exactly”. They think of his perfection in the sense that he never made one mistake, that he never broke one commandment and exactly obeyed every injunction from the Bible. He was beyond reproach.

Actually, AKRIBELA was never used in the Bible in association with Jesus. The ones who were seeking for perfection, exactness, or AKRIBELA were the ones he continually called “hypocrites”. The Pharisees, Sadducees, the Doctors of the Law, Scribes, in other words, the basic religious people of the day were continually accusing Jesus of not being AKRIBELA or perfect enough in obeying the law.

The scripture says: “THE LAW MADE NOTHING PERFECT, but the bringing in of a better hope (Christ) did; by which we draw nigh unto God.” Heb 7:19 The word for perfect here is TELEIOO and is the one used in connection with the perfection of Jesus and has nothing to do with obeying the law thus the law cannot create TELEIOO, or the perfection of Christ.

Orthodox Christians think that Jesus was perfect because he obeyed all the laws, but the Bible says “The law made NOTHING perfect”. Why do people worship Jesus and revere him as God because he exactly obeyed every law and scriptural injunction when the Bible says: “that NO MAN is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith. And the law is NOT of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Gal 3:11-13

Here Paul boldly states that Jesus was not perfect (or AKRIBELA) because he broke the law by his very death. The Old Testament which Paul quoted stated that anyone who was hung on a tree (or cross) was “accursed of God”. (See Deut 21:23) Therefore Paul explains that if righteousness comes by the law then Jesus was cursed because he was crucified on a cross made from a tree.

Why do you suppose it was in the plan of God that Jesus violated the law of perfection (AKRIBELA) to the extent that he was to be “accursed of God” by his very death? After all he permitted it to happen. Was it so we would look forward to something else besides a black and white interpretation for our salvation? If this is so, why do we put Jesus on a pedestal by saying he has never broken a law? Why do we think of him as AKRIBELA (perfect) when he was not?

One of the main reasons that Jesus was rejected by the Jews is because he was not perfect or exacting enough for them in keeping the laws of God given through Moses. He did not have the black and white attitude of the typical pious person. He realized that there is a time and season for “every purpose under heaven” Eccl 3:1 He knew that no carnal law could be written that was correct in every circumstance and taught that on the principle of love “hang ALLTHE LAW and the prophets.” Matt 22:37-40

Paul reinforced this and said: “For he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Rom 13:8 He also taught us not to be concerned with “the letter (of the law), but the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.” Rom 3:6

Now we will quote the whole scripture about the perfection of Jesus again so the reader can see the correct context: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and BEING MADE PERFECT (he finished this task of learning obedience), he became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey him.” Heb 5:8-9

Amazingly, this scripture by itself clearly tells us that Jesus was not perfect throughout his entire life -as the religious world defines perfection. It says: “yet LEARNED he obedience by the things which he suffered.” This tells us that there was a time in his life when he had not yet learned obedience and that he suffered for it. This reference tells us that Jesus came closer to perfection (as we use the word today) after he suffered. If he was perfect (AKRIBELA) from start to finish then why did he have to suffer to learn obedience?

Many Christians today have the idea that Jesus was so perfect that he never made one mistake. They further believe he did not have to learn obedience, but it was automatic with him because he was God. Why should God have to learn obedience from God? They think that he completely and literally obeyed every injunction in the Bible, and that he was a rigid law keeper. As we can see, this has no basis in the Bible. The Bible does, however, show us that he was the most perfect expression of love that ever walked the earth.

Another common misconception concerns Jesus being The Creator. The creative force of the Universe is the Son or Christ principle. The Christ is a position occupied by one individual on each inhabited planet. There are millions of Christ positions throughout the Universe, but only one principle that is manifest everywhere and creates all there is. In addition all of us who become one with the inner Christ become one in Spirit with the inhabitants of the Kingdom of God. We become part of the body of Christ.
