The Will to Manifest

The Will to Manifest

How is it that Purpose and Will must be used to obtain the Power to:

(1) Have a happy love relationship

(2) Obtain financial freedom

(3) Obtain spiritual progress, insight and power.

First it is interesting to note that the desires of our hearts are much more closely linked to power than Purpose or Will.

The average person wishes much more for the Power he may get from riches rather than the Will and Purpose it takes to obtain them.

Power is the end result of all desire. This is true even with Love in connection with desire. People desire the Power to love, the Power to attract love and the Power to be loved. Even Love would only exist in theory if there was no Power to manifest its presence.

The problem with the obtaining of the powers that we desire is that the average person wants to bypass Will and Purpose and seize Power without going through the necessary steps.

A thief is the extreme example of this. He sees something he wants that will seem to elevate his Power (money, for example) and then he will merely take it to himself thinking he can obtain Power in one encroaching step.

Power obtained through theft is illusion and no Power at all, for the laws of karma will soon take from him with interest that which he has unlawfully seized. Then he will be much more powerless than before he committed the crime of theft.

True power comes through obedience to law and law is governed by true creative principles.

When you examine logically Will and Purpose it is as difficult to decide which comes first in creation – a little like the chicken and the egg. From one point of view Purpose comes first, but from another Will does. Part of the reason for this is that there are higher and lower octaves of all these aspects.

From the viewpoint of general creation on the physical plane Purpose cones first. We must have a sense of Purpose before the Will can be aroused toward creation.

True Purpose descends upon us through soul contact. When correct contact has been made, goals will be formulated which will further the Plan of God.

When true Purpose has thus been sensed there will arise an inner drive to fulfill which cannot be extinguished by normal problems which confront us.

So what about people who are selfish with no soul contact and yet achieve? Do they have Purpose?

They have the lower octave of Purpose which is motivated by self and not soul.

If one’s motivation-to-Will comes from lower Purpose then the creation will produce a temporary effect and the satisfaction will be transitory and illusionary.

If one’s motivation-to-Will comes from soul Purpose then the effects will be long lasting and the satisfaction great.

But if one’s motivation-to-Will comes from higher spiritual Purpose then the effects will be eternal and the disciple will have fullness of joy.

The key for each of us is to tune into the highest Purpose of which we can conceive and formulate our goals around it. When the goal is firmly established in the mind then the creator must place attention on the goal through the power of Will. Using Will, the attention on the process and end of creation must be maintained. When this attention-through-Will is maintained then it is only a matter of time until, the creation manifests as long as one thing is in place.

And what is that?

The goal must be in alignment with the highest Purpose of which the seeker can conceive and must not find itself obstructing the Purpose of Higher Intelligence.

When this is the case nothing can prevent the goal from manifesting. It will only be a matter of time.

Melva submitted a parable on the last assignment I thought was sweet. Here it is.

An Island

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived; happiness, sadness, knowledge, and all the others, including love.

One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So, all the feelings prepared their boats but Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve this land paradise until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help.

Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, “Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?” Richness answered, “I’m sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere.”

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, Vanity, help me please.” “I can’t help you,” Vanity said, “You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat.”

Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, Sadness, please let me go with you.” Sadness answered, “Love, I’m sorry, but I just need to be alone now.”

Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, “Happiness, please take me with you.” But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn’t hear Love calling to him. Love began to cry.

Then, she heard a voice say, “Come, Love, I will take you with me.” It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way.

Love realized how much she owed the elder. Love then found Knowledge and asked, “Who was it that helped me?” It was Time,” Knowledge answered. But why did Time help me when no one else would?,” Love asked.

Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.”
