To Merge with or Grok the Word

To Merge with or Grok the Word

Indeed, if all involved accept and embrace the Word, which is God, they are at the threshold of manifestation. Just one thing remains to ensure the Word endures.

Many of us have seen faith healers in the media or in person that seem to perform miraculous healings. A popular one I used to watch, now and then, back in the Sixties was Oral Roberts, a famous faith healer in that day.

When the cameras panned the audience, you could see that the faithful followers had accepted Roberts as a spokesman for God and that whatever words he spoke were the same as if God were standing there speaking them. Those who had an affliction and came up on stage seemed to be the most affected. Not only did they accept his words as the word of God, but they strongly embraced them emotionally.

Here is how a typical healing would go. The person would come on stage and Roberts would approach him or her with a couple assistants. After saying a couple words about the power of God and Jesus he would smack the person’s forehead and loudly shout “HEAL!!!” Often the person would be so involved he would pass out and the assistants would have to catch him. After getting possession of himself the subject would often spring around stage gleefully announcing how great he felt and that he was indeed healed.

Now, it is quite possible there was some fraud involved, but I’m sure there were also some actual healings, though many of them were just temporary.

At that time, I had a neighbor who was a big believer in Oral Roberts and sent him all the money he could afford each month. Then he finally made a trip to Oklahoma to see him for himself. After he came back, he never spoke positively of Roberts again and ceased sending him money. Some say he discovered some fraud or that the healings were just temporary. The excitement of receiving the Word from what was thought to be a true servant had a big temporary impact, but seemed to wear off.

The Word is indeed powerful, even if it comes from the Beast of authority, but there is one final step that must be taken or its power will only be of a temporary nature.

To wield the full power of the Word the seeker must feed upon the Word and merge with it, or grok it, until it becomes a part of him. Your brain and emotions will take you to the point of tension so you can feel its power, but it takes the mind in contemplation to understand the Word and incorporate it into one’s being so the seeker and the Word are one.

This process of merging and becoming one with the Word takes the seeker away from the Beast of authority so he sees the Word as a power independent of any person on the earth. The final resting place of the word is in his own mind and heart, not in a preacher, prophet or king.

The story of a temporary healing is mentioned in the New Testament:

“And Jesus, all alone, went to the feast by the Samaria way; and as he went through Sychar on the way, the lepers saw him and a company of ten called from afar and said, Lord Jesus, stay and speak the Word for us that we may be made clean.

“And Jesus said, Go forth and show yourselves unto the priests.

“They went, and as they went their leprosy was healed. One of the ten, a native of Samaria, returned to thank the master and to praise the Lord.

“And Jesus said to him, Lo, ten were cleansed; where are the nine? Arise, and go your way; your faith has made you whole. You have revealed your heart and shown that you are worthy of the power; behold the nine will find again their leprous hands and feet.”

Aquarian Gospel 133:17-22 Also see Luke 17:11-19

The nine thought that all they had to do was to accept and embrace the Word and then go their merry way. The tenth realized that he needed to keep the Word alive within himself and returned to show appreciation and receive more. This act kept energy flowing to and from the Word within.

To accept a Word of Power opens the door. To embrace it reveals it’s power, but to merge with it sustains its life and power.

Question: The word is merge…JJ can you give some other examples of merging with the word like when the leper went back to Jesus to give thanks…so that we may better understand how to merge to make it permanent healing?

JJ: The merging isn’t something that is always visible or obvious. Two people may be healed and one may have the problem return while the other does not. An observer may not see any difference in the two because he cannot understand all that is going on in their hearts and minds.

He who has a sustained healing will keep the intent of the word in his heart and mind. The healing of the apostle Paul was a good example. After he was converted, he was healed from blindness. After the healing he kept the power of the word close to his heart as well as acting on the highest he knew to the best of his ability. Positive actions demonstrate to your soul that you are one with the word which gave you power of action.

Question: Is the word like a powerful prayer and ritual in one like I suspected and How did the little girl hear the word when she was dead when Jesus raised her and how did the soldiers servant hear the word when he was miles away and was healed.

JJ: The Word is not a ritual or prayer but can be activated by them.

If the person is in the presence of the healer, he or she must accept the word consciously. On the occasion where one was not physically present Jesus spoke to the person’s soul where the positive words of God are already planted and ready to be activated. It takes a high initiate or a healer with help from the other side to heal people who do not physically hear the word.

If it takes a lot of words to say what you have in mind, give it more thought. –  Dennis Roth

The Word Explained

The Word Explained

Extract from my book: Eternal Words

“What is a word?”

It seemed to be a very simple question, but one that I found difficult to find words to answer. Finally, I answered, “Well, a word is a thing spoken that identifies something.”

Elizabeth grabbed a dictionary, opened it and added, “It says here that a word is a sound or combination of sounds that symbolizes and communicates a meaning.”

“Now we’re getting somewhere,” he said. “A word is a sound.” What is a sound?”

“Since I play the piano perhaps I can answer that,” said Elizabeth. “The notes on the piano are sounds and each note has a different frequency or vibration.”

“So a word is a sound, which is, in turn, vibration,” I injected.

“And what does the vibration represent?” he asked.

“Whatever the meaning behind the word is, I suppose.”

 “Pick a word,” he commanded.

 “How about coin?”

“And when you speak the word coin, isn’t a certain combination of vibrations sent forth to reach the ears of others?”

 “Yes.”

“And these vibrations represent an idea?”

“Agreed,” I said, trying to follow his thought.

And, in between the thought and the idea, what force acts as the bridge between the two?”

 “I’m not sure.”

“Suppose you are reading a magazine and see a picture of a new car. The idea or concept of a car enters your mind. What has to happen within you before you will act and do what is necessary to get the car?”

“I suppose I would have to want the car enough to spend the money.”

“Very good,” he said. “In other words, you first have the idea of a thing in your mind, which is followed by want or desire, which in thrun is followed by the materialization of the physical object.”

 “Makes sense,” I said.

“Now a word, you you generally understand the term, starts with an idea. It is followed with a desire to communicate, which is materialized into a vibration that symbolizes the thing, which is, in this case, a car.”

“But there is a big difference between saying the word car and actually having a new Porsche in my front driveway.”

“You think so,” he said with a knowing look.

““I take it you don’t think so,” I replied.

He pulled out the shiny 1796 quarter again and set it on the table. “This is a coin, is it not?”

“I would think so,” I said.

“Now does the word coin refer only to this coin or to the idea of coins in general?”

“The idea of coins in general.”

“What word then refers to this specific coin?”

“I don’t know,” I said, thinking. “I guess we could call it John’s coin.”

“But there are many who are called John and many coins. What word refers to this coin?”

“How about John the Beloved’s 1796 quarter?” added Elizabeth.

“But I could have two such quarters,” he replied.

“I know you well enough to know you’re leading us to a conclusion that is beyond the obvious,” I said. “You’re not looking for a set of regular words are you?”

“Then what am I looking for?”

“You said you are looking for the word that identifies your coin.”

“Yes.” He noded. “Now what word could it be?”

“Well, I’ve concluded it is not a regular word, but you agree that a word is a vibration that represents a thing. Perhaps the coin’s word is some type of vibration peculiar to itself.”

John smiled and replied, “You’re finally headed the right direction.”

[…]

  1. 75

“And what is sound again?”

A light began to go off in my head as I replied, “Sound is a vibration and vibration is composed of waves!”

“And what is the word which is this coin?”

“This is getting interesting,” I mused. “I think I see where you are going. This coin is made up of vibrations, and since vibration is sound, then this coin is made of sound. If we could somehow hear the fine vibrations we could hear the word which is this coin.”

“You start off a little slow, but you usually come through,” John smiled.

[…]

  1. 76

“All creation, which appears complex when divided into its many parts, always evolves toward the greatest of simplicity. The element silver is composed of billions of tiny sounds, but the many tiny voices blend in a great choir to make one master sound. To speak the word which is silver, I merely make the one sound instead of the many.”

“But you said the coin is made of two elements, which is copper as well as silver. Is it composed of two words?”

“No. The sound which is silver blends with the sound which is copper to make one sound just as two voices blend to create harmony.”

  1. 88

“To ensure that this would be the case I absorbed and sounded the Word which is Elizabeth when I first met her. Just as the shiny new coin has an uncorrupted word, so do we. The image you see of Elizabeth is the result of her Word sounded in a healthy state. Having this image of her in my room gives me power to restore her to health on either a temporary or permanent basis.”

  1. 89

“And then I demonstrated the truth of this for you in applying it to form. All form is the result of sound, or a word, and all form goes through the process of decay or corruption. But the sounding of the original word on all planes restores the form just as sounding the original phrase in the game restores the meaning.”

  1. 138

“I think I see what you are getting at,” I said. “The idea of a sandcastle, along with its form, continues to exist even if the elements that represent the form crumble.”

“Yes,” he said. “The sand is not the form of the castle, but represents the form. All form represents an idea and all ideas are founded upon some eternal principle. We have therefore the eternal triangle of form, idea, and principle. An eternal word is a word that conveys the true idea so it will never be lost or destroyed. The first sandcastle is long gone, but the original idea is recreated every day, and can be seen on beaches as long as human thought continues on this planet.”

“Interesting,” I said. “So the first sandcastle still exists amidst all the beaches of the world as it is recreated by fun-loving people. I guess we must learn to differentiate between real form and that which makes up the form.”

“Exactly,” said John. “Even though the first sandcastle was not written with a pen or spoken with the mouth, it was nevertheless an Eternal Word that shall not pass away. There are many other ways to write or speak to the mind of another without the use of pen and ink.”

 “Like pictures,” injected Elizabeth.

“Actually, all physical communication boils down to pictures,” he replied. “Even the basic alphabet is composed of pictures of symbols, which, when pieced together, create a bigger picture. The first letter of the alphabet is a picture of a sound, whereas a sandcastle is a picture of many sounds.”

Be careful of your thoughts; they may become words at any moment. – Ira Gassen

The Word is God

The Word is God

There is a strange wording in the first verses of the Gospel of John. Even though this is one of the most quoted and examined verses in the entire Bible, I haven’t seen anyone give a sound explanation of the contradiction within it. It reads:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.” John 1:1-2

John doesn’t say specifically that Jesus was the Word, but almost all assume so because the text switches to discussing him. It was written that John the Baptist bore witness to the light “which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:9

We are told then that this Word and universal light was not only “with God” but also “was God.” Then to add to the confusion we are told that this Word “was in the beginning with God.”

The question then arises: How was the Word with God but also God? Was the Word God or just a being with God, perhaps as a Son of God as portrayed by Jesus?

The confusing doctrine of the Trinity claims to explain this telling us that God is three, but also one. But is there another explanation that actually makes sense that conforms to the actual text?

Perhaps a clue is given in the Dead Sea Scrolls where more complete teachings of the Christian Gnostics is given. The Gnostics were a major branch of Christian thinking for the first three hundred years of the Christian era. Gnosticism was branded as a heresy by many Christian thinkers culminating in the burning and banning of their texts by the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

The Gnostics taught that in the beginning we were all with God and shared a oneness with him, but a portion of the lives there broke off and followed a Demiurge, or a false God. This Demiurge actually created the physical universe which became a trap for the many sons of God. To escape we must achieve gnosis, or a knowledge of the true God. This was the realization that came upon Jesus.

A more modern revelation A Course in Miracles teaches a similar idea with some twists that fits in nicely with the first verses of John.

It tells us that in the beginning God creates a vast number of Sons so he wouldn’t be alone.  All these sons together were seen as one sonship, for their thinking was very unified.  Then came a time that a portion of the sons wanted to use their power God had given them to create a universe of time and space where they could experience limitations such as pain as well as joy.  God did not approve of this, but they went ahead in a dream state and made their plan real.

The difference between the Gnostics and the Course teachings is that many Gnostics see the God of this world as a singular evil entity whereas the course sees the Son who created all material things as all of us making a mistake. The mistake was the creation of this world which separates us from heaven.

The common thread then is that the God of this world is not the God who rules where our true home lies, but we are collectively the Son who left the Father’s home as in the parable of the Prodigal Son. The totality of all of us in this material realm is the Son or the God of this world.

The Course teaches that the Father himself has nothing to do with this world. Instead, it is in our hands until we decide to return home.

When we apply the ideas of the Gnostics and A Course in Miracles to the first verses in John we see that they make more sense than the limited orthodox explanations.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God…”

The word is the collective Sonship which was with God before this universe of time and space was created. There we lived in a timeless spiritual realm.

“and the Word was God.”

When the Sonship broke off and created the universe of time and space it became a God over all its creation. So, the Sonship was with God, but created a universe outside the realm of heaven and became God to that universe.

“The same was in the beginning with God.”

Even though the Sonship is the only Godly power over this universe, we as Sons were “in the beginning” with our true creator.

Consider this. The Son is considered not only the Word, but “the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

So we have the Word, which is the basis of sound and light as the qualities of Sonship.

What do they have in common?

They are both made of wavelengths. After all, light is merely sound speeded up.

That which creates the wavelengths which is beyond time and space represents our true source.

Our true Source lets the Sons play at creating a limited universe out of sound and light, and when they are finished their true home awaits. Gnosis takes us there.

The Name of Christ

This entry is part 08 of 98 in the series Principles

 Principle Eight

The Name of Christ

The name of Jesus Christ means “anointed to deliver.” Jesus did not intend to keep the name just for himself, but advised all of his followers to take the name upon themselves. All enlightened souls are anointed to deliver those of a lower vibration. When we have been “saved,” or elevated, by someone above us, then it is our mission to lift or deliver others to higher ground. There is a universal rule which tells us that we cannot go higher until we have given out what we have learned and assisted in lifting our brethren to where we are. When we have done this, then another will come along and lift us to higher ground. This is the principle behind the name of Jesus Christ. To believe on His name is to believe on this principle, that there are higher lives in the universe waiting to help deliver, or “save” us when we are ready.

This is verified by a correct translation of John 1:14. In the King James it reads:

“And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

The word “among” is from the Greek EN which is almost always translated as “in” not “among.” Let us render a more correct translation here in harmony with the ancient language:

“And the Word is BECOMING flesh and dwells IN US. And we beheld His (or Its) glory, a glory like an only begotten from the Father full of grace and truth.”

In fact we are promised that we shall manifest God beyond our comprehension. Jesus said:

“He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and GREATER WORKS than these shall he do; because I go to my Father … At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I (Christ) IN YOU.”  (John 14:12 and 20)

It is interesting to note that Jesus never did directly refer to himself as “The Christ.” In referring to himself he always used the title “Son of Man.”   Thus Jesus, the man, humbly associated himself with humanity. He never spoke the word “Christ” in relation to himself exclusively as others did. In fact there are only four occasions in the Bible where he actually spoke the word. Example:   “But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.” (Matthew 23:8)   Example:   “For whosoever shall give you a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.” (Mark 9:41)   Jesus referred to Christ in the third person because the title of Christ did not belong to him alone but to all members of the body that partake of the Spirit of God. Because Jesus referred to the Christ in the third person and did not directly proclaim himself as such the Jews were led to exclaim:   “How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly?” (John 10:24)   Even to this direct question Jesus did not proclaim himself to be the Christ. He did not want to set himself up on a pedestal, but identified himself as a Son of Man so the sons of men would look for the Christ within themselves.

Many may not be surprised to learn that we may become sons of God as is Jesus, but few are prepared for this next claim that we will examine.

And what is that?

Others besides Jesus were called by the name of Christ, and such was written in the Bible itself.

The word “Christ” comes from the Greek word CHRISTOS which means “anointed”. Its equivalent in the Hebrew is “Messiah.”   CHRISTOS is derived from the Greek CHRIO which means “to anoint with oil or consecrate to an office or position.”

The Hebrew “Messiah” comes from MASHIYACH and means the same as CHRISTOS. It is derived from MASHACH which is the equivalent of CHRIO.

Any good concordance will reveal that Christ and Messiah are the same word, but from two different languages. Furthermore, it can be proved from the King James version of the Bible:

“He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, we have found the Messias (Greek spelling of Messiah) which is BEING INTERPRETED, THE CHRIST.” (John 1:41   Also see John 4:25.)

This means that wherever in the Old Testament the original Hebrew for Messiah, MASHIYACH, is found, it could be translated correctly into the Greek CHRISTOS or the English “Christ.”

Interestingly, MASHIYACH is not usually translated as “Messiah,” but “anointed.”   If the New Testament CHRISTOS were translated the same way we would read “Jesus the anointed” rather than “Jesus the Christ.”   The word Christ is a name, but like all names in ancient times it had a meaning to convey. Those possessing this special name were anointed to a special office, position or mission.

There are only two places in the Old Testament that MASHIYACH is translated as Messiah. That is in Daniel 9:25-26. The reason it was translated as such here is that it seems to be a sure prophecy of Jesus. On the other hand, when MASHIYACH did not seem to refer to Jesus translators show their bias by rendering it “anointed.”

Let us be consistent translators and render MASHIYACH to its English equivalent “Christ” and see how some of these passages read:

“And the Priest that is CHRIST shall take of the bullocks blood and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation.”  (Leviticus 4:5)

This refers to the priest that offered sacrifices according to the law of Moses.

In speaking of Saul, David said:

“I will not put forth mine hand against my Lord; for he is the Lord’s CHRIST.” (I Samuel 24:10)

In speaking of himself, David said:

“But thou (God) hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine CHRIST.” (Psalms 89:38)

In another scripture MASHIYACH refers to all Israel:

“He suffered no man to do them (Israel) wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine CHRIST (Israel), and do my prophets no harm.” (Psalms 105:14-15)

MASHIYACH is even used in connection with a non-Jew: “Thus saith the Lord to his CHRIST, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden to subdue nations before him….” (Isaiah 45:1)

In the New Testament the Greek CHRIO is a near synonym for “Christ.” Jesus used the word concerning himself when he said:   “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed (Christed) me to preach the gospel to the poor….” (Luke 4:18)

The word is also used in connection with the followers of Jesus:

“Now he which stablishesth us with you in Christ (the anointed), and hath anointed (Christed) us, is God.” (2 Corinthians 1:21)

When we take the Greek and Hebrew of these and other scriptures into consideration we find that the following scripture which was previously quoted is not really so unique:   “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being MANY, are one body: SO ALSO IS CHRIST.” (I Corinthians 12:12)

Those specifically named in the scriptures who are a part of the body of Christ, and thus bear the name of Christ are Saul, David, Cyrus, the ancient Israelites, the early Christians, and Jesus. Among the early Christians that bore the name of Christ according to the Bible were:   “First apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers….” (I Corinthians 12:28)   It is beyond dispute that Jesus the Christ was referred to as the “Bridegroom” in the scriptures. See John 3:29, for example. The inhabitants of the New Jerusalem are “they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (Revelation 21:27)   These people make up the body of Christ of whom Jesus “is the head of the body, the church.” (Colossians 1:18)   This body of Christ, or the New Jerusalem is called “the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” (Revelation 21:8)   If Jesus is the husband of those who receive the Spirit of God then a follower would automatically take upon himself the same name that Jesus had. Just as with David, Cyrus, and the early Christians we too can bear the name of Christ, or become worthy to be anointed as Sons of God by our Father God.

It is only natural that men and women who are the children of God should also be called by the name of Christ just as it is natural that Jesus, a Son of God, is called the Christ.

The scriptures tell us that Jesus became the Christ “by inheritance.” (Hebrew 1:4)   We are to follow that same process. Paul said:   “In whom (Christ) also we have obtained an inheritance….” (Ephesians 1:11)   Remember he said we are “heirs of God, and joint heirs of Christ.” (Romans 8:17)   Jesus prayed that many disciples would become as Christ:

“Neither pray I for these alone (the twelve apostles) but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they ALL MAY BE ONE; as thou. Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be ONE IN US: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I HAVE GIVEN THEM that they may be one, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE.” (John 17:20-22)

This scripture makes it very clear that the followers of Jesus are to receive the same “glory” and oneness as he did. In other words, they are to be “anointed” or made a Christ as Jesus was.

Jesus clarified this:

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am sat down with my Father in his throne.” (Revelation 3:21)

“To the one who is victorious I will give authority over the nations just as I myself have received authority from my Father.” (Revelation 2:26-27)

“If a man love me, he will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we ( the Christ Father and Son) will come in unto him and make our abode with him.” (John 14:23)

“For if the firstfruit (Jesus) be holy, the lump (the followers of Christ) is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.” (Romans 11:16)

Paul calls the Christ principle a “mystery” which has been hidden for ages:

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:26-27)

It is fitting then that Paul speaks of “Christ, who is our life … your life is hid with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3 and 4)   “God has now made (us) to share the very life of Christ.” (Colossians 2:13)

“And I looked and lo, a Lamb stood on mount Sion, and with him an hundred and forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name (Christ) written in their foreheads.” (Revelation 14:1)

The faithful will bear the name of Christ because “Christ” means “anointed.” Jesus was anointed to be our Lord or Master, and also High Priest. The rest of the faithful are anointed to be “kings and priests unto God and his Father.” (Revelation 1:6)   “And thou hast made us unto our God Kings and Priests and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:10)

Speaking of ordinary mortals we are told that “saviours shall come upon mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau (carnal mankind) and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” (Obadiah Verse 21)

The full name of Jesus Christ literally means “anointed to deliver.” The most glorious and eternal work any of us can do is to reach forth our hands to lift up those who are struggling for greater light and truth. Aiding in the deliverance of our brethren and sisters is to become as Jesus and to take upon ourselves his name and become as Christ.

“Be wiser than other people, if you can, but do not tell them so.”
