A Useful Bailey Glossary

A USEFUL BAILEY GLOSSARY

Even though there are a number of esoteric dictionaries and glossaries out there, which are good for their designated purpose, there seems to be a need for one more.

Why?

Because the typical glossary gives a brief sketch of hundreds of words, many of which the reader will never remember or use.  Then too the more important terms are often covered too briefly to give the reader a grasp of the full meaning.

A problem is that the glossaries gather from Hinduism, Buddhism, the many Theosophical works and the Bailey writings which often apply different slants to the meaning. This means that the word you are looking up in reference to the book you are reading may wind up giving you either an inaccurate or incomplete meaning of the word or phrase as used in what you are reading.

Of all the major esoteric works, I find that a really useful glossary for the Bailey books is lacking. There is a brief one at the end of Initiation, Human and Solar, but I find that many new Bailey readers do not get much assistance from it and many quit reading because of a lack of understanding of what is being said in the books.

Therefore, what I sense a need for is a glossary that gives the reader of the Bailey books a fairly in-depth explanation of words and terms used regularly in the 24 books. The focus will be on terms used numerous times, concerning which it is important for the reader to have a grasp of the meaning. We will ignore some of the more obscure terms, for regular esoteric glossaries and dictionaries generally cover them sufficiently.

The purpose them behind this new glossary is to provide essential information on significant words and terms that will be useful, for new as well as seasoned readers of the books by Alice A. Bailey. In turn, because the Bailey books give out much information that is not in regular Theosophical works, the expositions may be useful to students whose focus is Theosophy or other elements of the Ancient Wisdom.

That said, here are links to what has been written so far. Other words and terms will be added until it is complete for its designated purpose.
