Messages from the Future?

Messages from the Future?

When I first came online around 1996 and joined America Online I came across a very unusual character named Schyler Rehart

who claimed to be from the year 2500. He didn’t travel here physically but said he switched bodies with a person in this timeline.  The following are some of his replies to me.

Post Number One — From Schyler

Sorry, meant to add, I know exactly who I am, but I’m more interested in who you are. Until I know, I don’t chose to tell you who I am, since obviously you are new to this system. But I have your best interest and love at heart, if you have mine.

Post Number Two — From Schyler

I think you should be more specific. My life is rather long and complicated. I am of this world and time, and then way beyond. Or maybe you’ve figured that out. Check my profile. How much are you prepared to know? What can you understand? I’m from the 25th Century, but I’m also living here and now, and I can’t get back. What the hell do you care about that? Ever read anything by Mark Twain? I’m his “Yankee” in an earlier time. Not entirely happy about it. My name from Io and/or Europa: Tellus.

Want to continue?

Schyler Rehart

Post Number Three — From Schyler – answering some of my questions:

You’re are the first to ask. Remarkable.

Okay: from Tellus Telegari direct, on Io and/or Europa.

[1] Yes, but there are only millions, not billions of individuals on the planet Earth. More elsewhere, however.

[2] Of course there were terrible conflicts (“bones of contention”) We had a series of wars and natural disasters, and for a time, the human race was pounded back to a desperate state.

[3] No shift in the Earth’s axis. That is not going to happen for 50 million years at least, no matter what Velikovsky or whatever “Worlds In Collision” tells you.

[4] The continental shifts occur only over great periods of time. The Earth, in 25th Century will pretty much be as now, except that the landscape is very different — more the thanks of the human race and what it wrought, than any major shifts in the tectonic plates or anything like that. More humans will live beyond the planet Earth than on it by the time you give.

Your experience could be your soul-being of a time that has, as did Tellus Teligari, my soul-being visited me. In the future, time travel of a kind is possible, but not to change the future, but only to communicate. You’ll find all this to be true in good time. I would suggest you do not try to exchange time-periods, whatever, at least until you are fully prepared and feel it would be mutually beneficial. It can be life-threatening. I know.

More later, dear Joseph.

Post Number Four — From Schyler

Oh, I forgot, 500 years from now we finally establish a government that is made up of what Socrates would call, rule by the capable and able, not of the masses: that is, a government of enlightened people who are concerned and sincere, not ambitious and ego entranced. But that is beyond us at this time, obviously. No, not a perfect government, but one as far superior as say, well, compare that of Attila with the one we have now. Believe it or not, we have made some progress, but not all we could do. Government of the able is far beyond us right now, obviously! But we are on the path, after a few more wars and the temporary collapse of a few civilizations. The human race will prevail.

Post Number Five — From Schyler

You ask very good questions, and I wish I knew all the answers. Unfortunately, between this time and the time from which my future soul came, in his time he was named Tellus Telegari, and he lives (will live) in a place I will for now merely refer to as the Great Forest Io. It is located far from here, but on this planet.

You are the first to ask on-line. I have come across people with well-developed curiosities in my life.

The reason that Tellus opened the connection with his former life, namely me, is that he also is seeking answers. We don’t know much about the period between 2025 and 2350. Civilization took a bad turn at that time, and was set back to a kind of “dark age” that we want to know more about.

I don’t have time to go into details now. Maybe you will have to wait to read my book. But I’ll tell you, as much as you are better off knowing for now, and all I can tell you without sounding off-the-wall.

[1] Avatars are among us in every age. Great spiritual individuals, men and women are here now. We are reluctant to know them, or trust them. It is a wise prophet to tread carefully. We all know what happens to individuals who appear to know much and tell the people what they don’t want to hear. It is a good way to anger individuals who can cause serious harm, and an early transition from this life. J.

Krishnamurti, for example, was a great avatar. He wisely refused to accept the role, and taught, or rather, offered guidance to those of us willing to sit and listen and ask questions. He went through transition after a long and successful life on earth. He taught in a place called Ojai, California. You can check him out, and decide whether he was a wise man. I was privileged to know him for more than 25 of my years, and loved to be with him summers when he was available. There are others, but it is the fate of such people to be lost sometimes in the babble of those who would put themselves forth as prophets. Never expect a true sage to go public and proclaim his real status. Anyone who does that is asking for rejection and worse.

[2] Yes, earth has made contact with representatives of other planets. As with avatars, the contacts are carefully arranged, and take place at the will of the aliens who are wise enough to know just how much they can accomplish. As with wise individuals, they know how humans react when presented with knowledge that upsets their cherished ideas and beliefs.

[3] Don’t understand have we explored under the earth. We have, but we need to explore the seas. There is intelligent life in the oceans of the world. Eventually, as in the case of Tellus, humans will live in places beneath the oceans where life began, and where it will end for this planet.

[4] The average life span when? In 2500 or so — about the same as now, except that the environment is more difficult to deal with and it requires much greater effort for humans to live well on the planet. Some individuals, however, have learned to live as long as 100 to 120 years. But that is true now.

[5] Religion is an obsolete concept in the future. We retain belief systems, but the idea of what you, I believe, understand of religious orders, cults, etc., were replaced by a basic acceptance by humans that life is meant to be lived and experienced. We generally, but not all, reject the idea of a set of orthodox ideas set down and established as “The Way.” We continue to believe in the Creator. The Soul is understood much better, and the need, as Avatars of the past have insisted, that we each go forth into the “wilderness,” be tempted, and find for ourselves the truth of life, and learn to live according to our discovery of the meaning of life. Much more on that, of course. Read K., as noted above. We have before us now the necessary information and inspiration. We need to grow spiritually and learn to deal with our realities in the light of the actuality, and stop depending on “enlightened ones” to tell us what to believe and how to live. This is not to say there is no first principles and verities. There certainly are. But we must do more than believe in them. We must learn to live by them, as we come to reconcile ourselves to them, and then to live in accordance to them, not pretending to believe or processing to be good believers. By our thoughts and deeds we will be judged, not by our professed beliefs, no matter how fervently held and loudly proclaimed.

[6] The next great war. Who knows? We would like to know that. But the next several decades will not be a peaceful time. As the Chinese curse, may we live in interesting times. We will do that. Civilization will change dramatically. At some time in the not-too-distant future, the planet will suffer some very bad times, and most of the human race will die violently. Not all at once, but as our civilization evolves and comes more interdependent and complex, so it also moves toward its down destruction.

[7] I’m sorry, but Nostradamus was a man who had great insight for his time. We read much too much into his quatrains. The Middle East will explode first, then India and Pakistan, but that will be only the beginning. The idea of an Antichrist is a simple metaphor for something too complex here, but it is a religious notion and has no real validity.

[8] Don’t know about human future in space. We apparently will make some progress to reach Mars. No known planets near us can support our human life, but the attempt to reach planets will hasten this civilization’s downfall. There are, by the way, many planets in the universe that support intelligent life. Some of them, traveling in ways that defy our knowledge of science, have reached us long ago, and are among us.

That’s more than enough to unsettle you, I’m sure. But the government I suggested will exist, but not soon, sorry to say, although it is worth the effort to achieve it. None of what I’ve said has to happen. Worried about changing the future? Why not? This is a complex notion. The future, as the past, is very large and has its own destiny. We can, however, make some changes, and for the betterment of the human race. It is predicted, I am reliably told, we will. But that won’t change our overall fate, because the human race is as I write making its own destiny. Sorry I can’t be more clear and understandable here. But since you asked. . . . Love and best to you, and peace profound.

Your Friend in return,

Schyler

Our goal must be – not peace in our time– but peace for all time. – Harry S. Truman

The Midway Point

The Midway Point

A reader put forth the idea that the pendulum was swinging back toward the midpoint of truth because he was pleased at some recent political developments.

I was curious to know what center points of truth he believed the pendulum had swung over as I did not see much realization of truth either in the politicians or the people.

Let’s go back to Abraham Lincoln again. Most of us agree that he was a great avatar, and moved the nation and world forward for the cause of freedom. There were three things he did that demonstrated that he sought a Middle Way:

[1] He saved the Union. In doing this is been criticized by some for not honoring states rights and normally states rights should be respected. But at that time the southern states were using the states rights argument to enslave a whole race of people. And because of this abuse of power Abraham Lincoln was correct stepping in and overriding the idea of state’s rights to save the Union. If it had been reversed and the North had seceded from the Union to establish freedom instead of slavery using the argument of states rights then one would have been correct to support such a thing. But, as it was, Lincoln used the second key of judgment to save the Union on correct principles.

[2] The second thing he did, which was correct, was to abolish slavery. On hindsight we can now see slavery was a definite evil that needed to be eliminated. On this principle of freedom Lincoln was definitely standing at the midway point of truth.

[3] The third thing Lincoln did was to promote the settlement of the West, expansion of free enterprise and the expansion of ownership of land. He laid groundwork for a great prosperity that was to come in the United States that affects us to this day.

Now let us look at the issues of our day and pick where we think the midway point of truth may lie and see if any of our politicians or our president are taking us in the right direction:

[1] First let’s look at our economy. The first and most important aspect of any economic program is the budget. Spending must basically equal the amount of money available. So the midway point of truth that any politician should advance us toward is a balanced budget. Is anyone doing that? No! Any leader seeking the midway point of truth, discovered through judgment, will lead us to control spending and a balanced, or at least a responsible budget.

[2] Taxes. As a nation if we consider all of our taxes income tax sales tax, real estate taxes, use taxes hidden taxes and so on we spend over 50% of our income on taxes. The amount of money we spent on taxes is 1000 miles away from The Middle Way. The Middle Way on taxes should be somewhere between 10 to 25%. I’m not talking about just income taxes but all taxes should not exceed this amount. Do you see any politician leading us to the midway point on this? No.

[3] Another hot button issue is abortion. Where would the midway point on abortion be? Certainly not to use abortion as birth control and, on the other hand, highly structured laws to abolish it do not work either. One thing we all agree on is we want the number of abortions to go down. To follow the midway point one would listen to both sides of this issue and encourage each a lively debate where both sides are heard not only before the public but in the schools. Young people need educated on both sides of this issue so they can make, in connection with their parents, informed decisions about their destiny. Few if any politicians are seeking this Middle Way Path.

[4] Now let’s look at the military. We still live in a dangerous world. Yes, it would be nice if we could just sing kumbaya and have another peace dividend. The trouble with the peace dividend is that it was temporary and we had to take that peace dividend and then spend it on rebuilding the military after the 911 disaster.

Missile defense could be the salvation of, not only our country, but the world. Without it we are in danger of a nuclear holocaust. Reducing missile defense spending definitely misses the middle way of truth. Until the world is a safer place we have to have enough military strength to prevent tyrants from taking over the world and reducing civilization to ashes.

[5] Freedom. The tendency of this country and the free nations of the world is to increase regulations, restrictions and forced social programs. All of these things take away our freedoms. The midway point, remember is not in the exact center between two extremes, but the Middle Way is the point of truth between the two extremes. So how much freedom should we have? The amount of freedom we should have is not in the exact middle between the freest societies of the world and the most restrictive societies of the world. The midway point of freedom is always the maximum amount of freedom that the consciousness of the individual or society can use.

Throughout the history of the world individual freedom has always been restricted more than it should have been. The one great surge forward in freedom was the establishment of the Constitution of the United States and the freedoms that were allowed its citizens thereafter. Since that time almost every politician has sought to diminish freedom, feeling that we are not responsible enough to use it. So they must tell us how to use our freedoms. We are far from the midway point of freedom and neither the president or Congress as a whole has a clue as to where this midway point of freedom is. The people themselves are going to have to lift their voice to make their desires known if things are going to change. I believe the leadership to advance freedom will rise from the midst of the people rather than from the midst of Congress or the presidency for the next generation or two.

[6] Personal responsibility. It is the tendency of almost all leaders Congress and presidents to relieve citizens of personal responsibility and attempt to become our saviors and parents. Creating a nation that is dependent upon its leaders and money taken from the rich and giving to the poor is far removed from the midway point of truth considering personal responsibility. If people are taught to be responsible for themselves and their own destiny they will rise up and do great things and be able to become servants for the world and humanity itself. But if they’re taught, they must depend upon government and its handouts personal responsibility will be crippled and the nation will be brought to its knees. A true leader seeking The Middle Way will set an example of personal responsibility and inspire people to become successful through their own efforts. When people expect to succeed through their own efforts the main thing they want is for people, organizations and government to stay out of their way and let them pass and move onward toward success.

[7] Partisanship. A leader seeking The Middle Way will seek what is good for this country before he will seek what’s good for his party. Lincoln in seeking the good of his country sought the best people to assist his administration and for his cabinet. Instead of merely seeking people who agreed with him he reached across the aisle and chose a number of Democrats and opponents to serve with him. Some of these people were strongly opposed to him when he ran for president but Lincoln realized that some of his former enemies were very intelligent and he needed them in perilous times.

Now in this day and age placing someone from the other party in a prominent position is a rare thing but unfortunately, it’s also rare to place anyone in a powerful position that disagrees with the president.

So, I don’t see any evidence of catching the point of truth at the present moment. I think the pendulum currently swings to the left all over the world. This has the effect that anyone presenting something fairly moderate, or reasonable is in danger of being called an extremist.

As I said before the cycles of the pendulum swinging are many. There are yearly cycles, cycles lasting several years and even thousands of years. So at any point in history, we have cycles within cycles affecting us. This is why we see conservative domination in some areas and liberal domination in other areas within the same time period.

From what I’ve seen and studied of the current situation I see little evidence of the Middle Way approach to anything. I would be happy to see a change of direction on this, and would be delighted to see politicians do positive things to take us toward greater freedom security and economic prosperity.

I wouldn’t bet my mother’s operation money on it though.

The best prayers have often more groans than words. —John Bunyan

One Path Many Forks

One Path Many Forks

The group was discussing the reasons behind our separation from Deity.

If I were to pinch you it may hurt me (in an emotional sense) as much as it hurts you, but if you were to pinch yourself and not tell me about it I would not register the pain in the slightest. For instance, I just pinched myself and it caused a twinge of pain. Did you feel it? I think not. I certainly hope that you do not feel all the pain on the planet.

That is one reason God is divided on the physical plane — so the pain can be shared and endured.

I have never claimed that “the Path” was “my path” as I am accused. I have always called it “the Path,” because it belongs to us all. Some seem to believe that we all have different “homes” to go to and thus different paths. In the end there is only One Life to merge with and thus in the perspective I am using there is only one home and one path. I can easily see that given a different perspective from mine one would see many paths.

I believe that Christ was the greatest teacher because his words have a greater impact on me than any other teacher with published words.

Even the Bible does not say he was perfect. The word “perfect” in the Greek in reference to Christ merely means that Christ did the job he came to do. The word “perfect” as we define it (without flaw) was applied to the thinking of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Some think I am closed minded because I do not agree with them on all things. I believe I have been listening here very intently. If I do not agree I will not change my mind unless higher understanding is presented. Others are the same way though.  Most do not change their minds because I disagree with them. In fact, that is pretty rare.

I intently believe in us helping each other. We cannot go home alone and he who is my teacher will not lift me higher unless I lift others higher.

A reader asked me about Paul Twitchell, founder of Eckankar. I have read his book “Key to Secret Worlds” shortly after it was published. The first thing that concerned me about Paul is that he presented many flowery pieces of data, but he did not teach me one new principle. I do not consider anyone’s teachings inspired unless they can teach more than purported facts that can me made up by a creative mind.

He teaches a shortcut to the highest heaven, similar to the born again Christians. They say to just believe in Jesus and you will go to heaven. Eckankar says: believe in the Eck Master and go to the highest heaven. What is the difference? Not much.

The living Eck Master is looked upon in a similar vein as the way the Mormons look upon the prophet, the Catholics look upon the Pope, and the Moonies look upon Reverend Moon. Those followers also see their master in their dreams at times. Acolytes will deny this correspondence, of course, but so do the other religions.

When I have attended Eckankar I have found them to be engrained in their way of thought as much as the Jehovah Witnesses when I have attended their meetings. When I have asked questions, I get stares and cold silence just as when I ask questions in a Mormon church. They remind me of a Mormon Church with a fancy vocabulary.

I find the current living Eck Master to be a very mediocre man. On TV I saw a minister out reason him. How humiliating for one who is claimed to be the most intelligent man on earth!

Even though it was a core teaching I found that no one I met in Eckankar really knew anything about soul travel, or could do it, but were deluded into thinking they could.

Paul Twitchell obviously is not advanced enough to have freedom in even the lower three worlds. He has died and his body is no more. He has no power to manifest another physical body at will and appear among us. Therefore, he has no freedom in the physical world, unless he wants to be reborn like the rest of us.

I hope my critics can “become as a little child” and discard everything they have learned, and start over, looking with a new perspective, but seek for principles, not a flowery vocabulary.

Many who have escaped from the grip of conservative religions cringe at the idea of any one teaching them — yet such a person will often immerse himself in books without thinking of the correspondence. Books are written by people and if we allow ourselves to be taught through books then those authors are our teachers.

There are teachers who seek authority and dominion over you — then there are others that only seek to elevate you.

There are hierarchies that crush and destroy; there are others (few at present) that elevate and give life.

To say all teachers and hierarchies are bad or useless is like saying all Chinese are bad because I had a bad experience with one.

One must keep open to the possibility that perhaps there are beneficial Hierarchies and Teachers.

Words in the physical realm are not the highest form of expression as some assumed that I meant. Nevertheless, I stand by my conclusion that anything that can be understood in the physical body can be expressed in words. That doesn’t mean that everyone will understand the words perfectly. It’s obvious that some do not understand all of mine, neither do I understand all I read. Nevertheless, through the process of correction we can all come to understanding.

As an example, a reader points out a person who knows how to make something, but cannot describe the process in words.

The fact that you know how to make something does not indicate an understanding. My body synthesizes Vitamin B12, but my thinking self, residing in my body, knows nothing about it. I don’t even know when it is happening, therefore, I cannot put it in words. I cannot do so because there is no conscious understanding.

What is overlooked in my explanation is that I was referring to conscious understanding, and understanding is only conscious.

A computer program works, but there is no understanding in the computer.

The man that can tie a knot or make something, but not explain it step by step, is a person responding to training or programming, but does not have conscious understanding. If he did understand, then he could put it in words.

All the lives that make up our bodies have a great amount of knowledge, but it is “below the threshold of consciousness.”

The example presented of Tae Kwon Do illustrates my point of the oneness of the path. It was mentioned that in the higher degrees there are few differences. To get to that point where the differences merge, they had to learn the same principles. These same principles are the one path I talk about.

Lord, take my lips and speak through them; take my mind and think through it; take my heart and set it on fire. —W.H. Aitken

Questions of Mystery

Questions of Mystery

Allow me to ask readers to raise your thoughts to the possibility of a higher understanding. You cannot acquire higher knowledge by reiterating anything you have read in a book or have been told by any teacher. All your stimulation by being a student of books and teachers is to serve one purpose — to get you to think for yourself and to get you to be able to put your understanding into your own words.

Let us take a common thought about oneself. “I am Consciousness, or Higher Consciousness.”

Have you ever thought about what you are saying? What is consciousness anyway? What is the principle that produces it?

If you say I am Soul — have you thought about what Soul or Spirit is? Is it higher vibration? What is Vibration? What is the difference between higher vibration and lower vibration? Or has it occurred to you that the difference between the worlds may not be the speed of the vibration at all, but the type of vibration? If it was speed only then science may be able to discover the higher worlds using present methods.

Perhaps the higher vibration is hidden within the lower just as the spirit is hidden within the body.

The key to knowledge with understanding is to ask questions of yourself — to reflect — to contemplate. Memorizing the words of others is good if reflected upon, but if not, then this merely creates an illusion of understanding and is actually a detriment to understanding. This is where “the mind slays the real.”

If you look within yourself and observe how your consciousness works it will help your understanding.

Let me elaborate some more on what YOU are not.

You are not your body. Most readers seem to understand this pretty well. However, many people identify too much with physical impulses.

A few teachers have also said you are not your feelings. We have tossed this around the forum and I do not recall any elaboration on it. Perhaps it is because it is hard to imagine the fact that we are not our feelings because they seem to be such an integral part of ourselves.

What are the feelings? There are positive ones like love, aspiration, happiness and joy. Then there are negative like hate, anger, jealously, possessiveness. We like to identify with the positive and ignore or suppress the negative, but the truth is that we are not either of them. We like to say that we are love, but what we normally call love is felt by one of our vehicles which we are not. The astral or emotional body feels love, hate and all the emotions. Just as when our physical body dies, we no longer feel physical pain, even so, if our astral body were to die we would no longer have a vehicle to feel the standard emotions.

Therefore, we feel emotion, but we are not emotion.

If we drop the physical and astral body then what is left? The only body in the world of form we have left is the mental. This is the vehicle that thinks on the level of form, but do not get it confused with the physical brain. The physical brain is like a great computer. It calculates and runs computer programs, but it does not have living thoughts any more than the computer. On the other hand, the mental body is a vehicle for the intelligent comparing of data. It has discernment, logic and can follow a series of events to its logical conclusion. It is able to assign value to things. It has power of interpretation and is very useful in interpreting the feelings sent to it from the astral.

The beginner in human evolution identifies with the physical body and instinct. The average person identifies with feelings. The advanced human identifies with the mind. All three are in illusion because they identify to some extent with their vehicles.

They use the body, emotions and mind, but all these have a beginning and an end. What is left? “Who and/or What Are We?” What were we before we acquired these vehicles and what will we be when we leave them behind?

This part of you has certain attributes. It has one thing in particular that it can participate in while occupying the three vehicles simultaneously. You use that participation every day and there is even a common name for it. If I were to have told you this keyword in the beginning it would have meant little, but now after reflection — hopefully it will mean something.

Still, the keyword by itself is only the first step. The final step is the realization behind this attribute, which is responsible for life itself and consciousness as we know it.

Don’t be discouraged about the Bible. It contains many mysteries that the religions of the world have glossed over and would prefer you did not know about. Some important principles came to me while I was reading it.

However, to get the full meaning out of it you have to empty yourself of all religious teaching you have ever received and “become as a little child.” In this state you can truly understand the Bible and other inspired writings.

A reader asks what the following Biblical quotes mean:

“The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it?”

Answer: The writer here was not referring to the heart here as a source of spiritual love, but to the solar plexus, the seat of desire. When desire (of the heart or lower self) runs unchecked by the spiritual self then the person does become “desperately wicked,” like a Hitler or Charles Manson.

“All of your righteousness is filthy rags.”

Answer: The lower self without the guidance of the higher self is incapable of doing anything that is truly “good.” Compared to one who has soul contact his righteousness has little or no effect and is an illusion. “Filthy rags” is strong language, but it puts the point across.

The reader asks if we are separate from the One? The answer is yes and no. Your mouth, for instance, has an identity apart from you, yet it often says “I Am Carole.” It doesn’t say “I am the mouth,” but because it is a part of you, instead it says “I Am Carole.”

Your higher self is one, but many; just as your body is. There is an individual part and a group part. A part of the higher self shares your consciousness and participates with you to make you what you are.

O Lord, help me not to despise or oppose what I do not understand. —William Penn

Thoughts to Words

Thoughts to Words

A reader criticized me for delving into the mysteries of God and putting them into words,  stating that we need God to remain  a mystery else God  would be taken down a notch.

In my humble opinion this is a very delusionary thought. Every hour on this planet earth more of the mystery of God is discovered by us humans — and put into words. Are you saying that God feels that he is losing His grip more with each passing hour?

Does God hear that great sucking sound of knowledge escaping from him, never to be used again and passing to us mere mortals?

Can mere mortals make God less than God by understanding him and putting that understanding in words?

The opposite is true as usual.

God is not diminished but glorified when we discover His/Her mysteries and understand them to the extent that we can place that understanding in the “Word which is God.”

You say you hear my (and other’s in this forum’s) call for Love. I do not believe that is what I am calling for right now. Leonardo DaVinci was right when he said, “Before something can be loved it must first be understood.” I first call for understanding, not of me as a person, but of the teaching method I am attempting to initiate, of my intentions and of my words.

I differ with you that the bantering on this forum is motivated by fear. Not so my friend. Those who step forth to battle on the plane of the mind are those who have overcome many fears whereas those who tremble at confrontation do so because of a multitude of fears, many of them disguised as virtues.

I may have my disagreements with some here, but I greatly admire them for their “guts” (best word I can think of) for entering a realm where few have had the courage to venture.

Emotional courage is greater than physical courage, but mental courage is greater still — and yet there is greater to come.

There is a lot of truth in old clichés. It is said “God hates a coward.” I never want God to hate me for this reason. The courageous person will face his fears and work through them — without changing their names.

You say: “I defy you to at this moment to describe any color without using reference points, or anything else for this matter. When you experience that which is beyond the physical senses we employ no reference points.”

You say this as if it contradicts my statement as follows: “I still maintain that if you cannot put a piece of knowledge in words, then a full understanding is not realized.”

It is true that you cannot describe a color or anything else without reference points, but that agrees with what I teach and in no way contradicts it.

When you experience something beyond the physical there are reference points. I have had many conversations about spiritual experiences with friends and we use the various spiritual reference points. We thus put the experiences into words by using the reference points.

I have also seen colors not of this physical plane. If I want to put the color it into words then I merely show someone else how to see the colors and then we use that color for a reference point. I can also describe some of the colors of the next plane up to some degree of accuracy to someone who has never seen them. The orange there, for instance is a little like a florescent orange, but brighter and has an almost living essence about it. Everything on the next plane is a higher correspondence of this one. The “Law of Correspondences” provides a set of references between the planes so some degree of understanding can always be communicated. But because all are capable of going to the higher planes all are capable of full communication of all things.

Anything that can be understood while the consciousness is in the physical body can be put in words. Things understood in states way beyond the physical are also put in words, but they are not words as we understand them — but they are words nevertheless though the understanding may be partial.

Some phrases of words hold great meaning that is locked away for thousands of years. Then eventually some seeker reaches the correct level of understanding and sees the meaning, as did the original writer.

If you or anyone else do not yet accept what I say here then go ahead and challenge me to put something else in words.

I have often heard on this forum: “It’s only words.” Literal words by themselves do not offer us full communication but if the receiver contemplates through the soul he will sense the complete meaning as intended by the writer.

My words fly up, my thoughts remain below; Words without thoughts never to heaven go. — William Shakespeare

Seeing Eye to Eye

Seeing Eye to Eye

A reader tells me that if something is correct for my soul that it is not necessarily correct for yours or anyone else’s.

This is a seemingly correct statement in the illusion of the personality world, but the world of souls is a world of union and oneness, and as the Course in Miracles says: “The truth is true and NOTHING else is true.”

Through the maze of illusions created by various interpretation of words, there is a point of truth that is true and “nothing else is true.”

Two plus two equals four and nothing else is true that can be demonstrated in this reality. To contradict this statement, you have to wander into poetic and mythful thinking which has no basis in this reality except for entertainment purposes.

The souls of all humans are one. Therefore, if my soul verifies a point of truth to you, the same point can be verified to me. Now I can tune into my astral/emotional body and get all kinds of misleading feelings and think that it is my soul, but if you tune into real soul consciousness and so do I at the same time, we will see “eye to eye.”

To say otherwise than what I say here is to not believe in the oneness of the higher lives. Do you think that in the world of solar angels that two cannot become one in the light of truth? I think it would be depressing to believe that truth cannot lead to unity.

The highest many people have reached is a degree of astral energy which they interpret to be soul contact. All fall into this illusion one time or another because we tend to think that our highest perception is the highest God, Soul, Solar Angel, Universal Spirit, Master, Higher Self or whatever. We are reluctant to think that someone else has made a higher contact than ourselves.

Contact with soul energy is available to all, but there are layers of darkness that must be penetrated to discover it.

When two people reach soul contact together there is always a knowing. They are still two individuals, but of one mind and both know the other is feeling the spiritual feelings.

It would be nice to reach that with my critics.

A reader says he does not agree with my teaching process. Fine. You are free to ignore me. Obviously you’re not doing so.

You ask me why I state that my teachings are from a higher source. Am I trying to seem more credible?

No.

I say it because it is true and to present the teachings as if I am solely responsible would be to take glory to myself that I do not deserve and would also be deceptive.

I am not a channel as is Jane Roberts and others where the person leaves consciousness. I work through the union of souls where there is full consciousness for all. That way two minds become one and there is a flashing forth bringing a knowledge of principles from the higher to the lower.

Tell me one thing you have learned without the help of another person as you seem to indicate that you do?

You ask the question: If knowledge only comes from above, then where did those above us get it?

I did not say that knowledge only comes from above. I said that if we learn from someone who knows, the learning is much faster than if we learn by trial and error.

All useful knowledge when first acquired for a system of humans is won by a teacher who earned it by trial and error, many mistakes, pain and loss of time. Take Edison and the light bulb. It took him over 10,000 trials to produce it. If we were to follow your reasoning we should all just look within and figure out how to make light bulbs. It might take you 100,000 tries to make a light bulb if you are determined to do it all by yourself.

I like my method better. Let’s just use the teachings of Edison and enjoy the light and save our great effort to forge into new territory. There’s not a lot of advantage to reinventing the wheel. It provides no service to humanity.

I pointed out that when a teacher has definite knowledge learning for the student is greatly accelerated. You disagreed with this saying: “What one considers definite another may consider fluid.”

I’m not talking about what one considers, but it turns out he’s deceived about it. I’m talking about definite knowledge like how to build a light bulb. Either you know how or you don’t. If you do know how to build it there is nothing fluid to it. You can look at the light shining in your eyes and deny that it exists, but that doesn’t mean the knowledge is fluid. It means you’re in a state of denial.

I’ll bet you can’t give me one example of knowledge that is fluid. You may give an example, but I can prove you wrong because you’re violating a principle here. “The truth is true and nothing else is true.”

If knowledge were truly fluid then none of us would have to think. All of us would be right all the time and we would descend to eternal entropy.

If I understand correctly how you define the path then I do not consider my methods of serving the only way to serve. Nevertheless, there are certain keys of knowledge that must be unlocked by the aspirant before he can return home, or obtain freedom of movement in the three worlds. For instance, you must achieve a certain level of understanding about who you are. If you are deceived into thinking you cannot rise above the level of a worm, for instance, you must raise your consciousness in order to progress.

These things seem like basic knowledge. It’s difficult for me to see how one can even disagree on these things. Oh well, let’s continue.

I’m sorry I’m not humble enough for you. Please feel free to continue to keep me in line.

You say: “I accuse you of being…arrogant in the knowledge you have such that you cannot recognize different knowledge as being valid.” Are you sure you are not mirroring yourself here?

What “different knowledge” do you speak of that I do not recognize as being valid?

I’m sure you will not be able to give me a specific answer on this one. If you cannot and are honest you must admit the charge is unjust.

If, however, you substitute “theory” for “knowledge” you may have a point.

You make an interesting statement: “Unless words contain the entire universe, they cannot express the entire universe.” You direct us to a great truth here. A single great Word created the entire universe. The single Word divided itself into many words. Since all things are created through the power of words then all things in this universe can be expressed in words.

Just because you cannot express yourself effectively in words is no reason to assume no one else can?

Some have difficulty in expressing “love,” “faith,” “fear” and other ideas in words. Others have figured out how to do it.

I still maintain that if you cannot put a piece of knowledge in words, then a full understanding is not realized. I am amazed anyone would disagree with this. It seems so basic.

If you do not understand love well enough to express it in words then why not be humble enough to say you do not understand rather than to say you know, but can’t explain? That sounds like the Christians talking about the unknowable God.

It is true that you are consciousness, you are “I AM.” Every New Age thinker knows this. Feel yourself without your vehicles/bodies. Describe something you know about that which remains.

Seven days without prayer makes one weak. —Allen E. Bartlett

Finding Ourselves

Finding Ourselves

All life forms including masters can have negative feelings. They just know how to work through them so the end is positive.

We have descended into this world as part of a great experiment and experience. In the end all things will work together for our good as long as we do not cut ourselves completely off from our souls.

The teachings of the Masters swing like a pendulum, pulling man the opposite direction from where he is wrongfully headed. This has the effect of helping many, but confusing some, but as Spock says: “The good of the many outweighs the needs of the few.”

The churches are a part of the Beast (666) that enslaves man.

A reader says he is impressed by the statement “the Word is God…” There is a great revelation to be had there, but other steps must come first.

Think about “Who and/or What Are You?” What makes you different from the lesser lives. You are not your body. Most New Agers know that.

But you are also not your emotions and feelings. You are also not your mind. Detach yourself from your body, emotions, and mind; and answer: “Who and/or What Are You?”

The answer is not consciousness, even though you have consciousness. What kind of consciousness?

Many are familiar with A Course in Miracles. This speaks of the Ego. If the Ego disappears — what is left?

Is it consciousness?

A Son of God?

These answers are true but incomplete.

A Course in Miracles tells us that it is madness that took us here to align with the ego. That was written for an effect on the masses to get them to think. From a higher point of view it was not madness but part of the evolution of the life of God. In reality you were driven here by a principle which is behind human consciousness. Without this principle you do not exist. Without a knowledge of it spiritual progression is difficult. With a knowledge of who you are you can take the necessary steps to freedom in the three worlds of form.

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” You have probably heard this before. It is an ancient statement.

What you are ready for is what you draw to you.

A reader mentioned EKANKAR which I consider to be a corrupt method of teaching the way home. The shortcut they talk about would be a disaster for the soul.

Another mentioned The Plain Truth Magazine which I  would say is a kindergarten teacher for the general religious seekers. They are very wrong on the idea that we sleep in unconsciousness when we die.

The next step is to look within for your strength and sense not only your soul or higher self, but tune into the group energy with which your soul is connected. When you do this you will sense the presence of many loving entities surrounding you, possibly myself included. When you feel this presence the feeling of restlessness will disappear.

All your problems will not be solved, but a major one will be.

Sensing the presence is the most important thing right now, but if you have any thoughts on “Who and/or What Are You?” share them with me when you are ready.

You are only ready for true progression when you make up your mind to do whatever is necessary and it will often involve some strenuous effort. Never fear the great effort that awaits you.

Have you thought about who you are if your feelings and your mind were to disappear? What is the principle left that makes you unique from everyone else?

The principle that creates time is form created from wavelengths. Without form there is no time. Therefore a life that has no form, but only uses form is without beginning and end. Such a life creates time, space, and form.

There is a part of you that is endless. We must find that part to know “Who and/or What We Are.”

“Who do you think you are?” is one of the most powerful mantras of the Dark Brotherhood.

There are some appropriate uses of this phrase, but it’s usually used against the innovators of the world.

A reader wanted me to comment on V’ger from Star Trek [the movie]. It is true he became a threat to his creator. But think about the reason. It was because he developed mental facilities when he was out of touch with his creator and he was separated from his true hierarchy. When this happens to humans we too have uneven and perhaps dangerous development.

First we must develop the physical and the instincts, and then the emotional — after this the mental, and finally the spiritual. The lower arenas must be developed before the higher can be safely pursued.

The “Son of Sam” is a good example. He thought he heard the voice of God (misguided spiritual sense) before he was close to being emotionally mature. The seeker must look beyond the personality.

I was conversing with a guy who had belonged to a church that believes we sleep at death until the resurrection and then, after the resurrection, if God is displeased, we are annihilated.

The poor fellow may still have some subconscious fears of going to hell or being annihilated. Perhaps it would be helpful if I explain a fearful scripture they use:

“For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten….” (Eccl. 9:5 Also read verse 6)

To understand what Solomon is saying here you must go to the beginning of the book where he says: “Vanity of vanities…all is vanity.”

The writer spends most of the time in the book elaborating on the vain and stupid things that man says. One of them is “the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward.”

Then in the last two chapters he starts teaching the truth of the way things are: He speaks of the silver cord, the golden bowl (the etheric body) and the spirit going home to God who gave it. (Eccl 12:6-7).

To sense your spiritual friends who are in your group you must obtain communion with your higher self because all the true spiritual guides and masters only communicate through your soul via your Higher Self.

There are clouds of darkness between you and your soul. You remove them by always following the highest you know.

It will help you to answer the question WHO/WHAT ARE YOU?

Here are some highlights of my comments to a reader who accused me of being a false or misled teacher.

It sounds like half your brain thinks I am a “Master” (your choice of wording, not mine) and the other half thinks I am some type of antichrist or at best a Jim Jones.

Where do you get the idea that I am judging someone else’s right place in the universe? People find their own place. Seeking to help and teach others is in no way “judging” their place.

You criticize me for making judgments and then you turn and make judgments about me. That wouldn’t be so bad if your judgments were correct or had some foundation to them, but some are totally mislead.

He accuses me of having no feelings or emotions. You have no basis to make such an unjust judgment. I am in very close touch with all my emotions and do not suppress or deny them. I have authority to say this because I know me much, much better than you know me.

Some of your choice of words bothers me. You address me as “Guruji Joseph,” a title I resent. You call me “Master” when you think I have not mastered. You suggest I seek to “enforce” my will upon others. You say I “scoff” at Masters, and I need to “stoop” to study a book you recommend.

It sounds to me that you need to read Ceanne DeRohan’s books again. Especially her first one. You seem to have some bitterness in you that is in a state of denial. Find these feelings within you instead of reflecting them in me. Then maybe they can be expressed in a positive way.

You say: “What if I say that my Understanding is greater than yours? What emotional reaction does that provoke?”

I think it would be great if your understanding is greater than mine. I am always thrilled to learn new things. One with greater understanding does not pose a threat to me. Why don’t you share something with me that I don’t understand? I would be particularly impressed if you shared a new principle with me rather than memorized data.

A lot of what you say is true. There are many suppressed and denied feelings that need to be worked out with humanity. Those who do suppress can be deciphered through handwriting analysis with great accuracy. I am one of the few teachers that will agitate others enough to bring out some of these feelings. You seem to think this is bad. I think your teacher, Ceanne, would recommend it.

I will be making comments that will enlighten you on my thoughts on other comments you have made that I haven’t had time to cover; but please understand, my motive isn’t just to make myself look good. (Who wants to look bad?) My prime motive is to serve. In this coming age of Aquarius, I, an Aquarian, seek to pour out the water of knowledge to a thirsty world.

My way of teaching is NOT to take power from others, but to empower without consideration to my own power. “He who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven is the greatest servant.” This statement of Jesus is a great inspiration.

Teaching is Assisting

Teaching is Assisting

The question of the recognition of higher sources came up. I personally do not assume that anything from any source is true unless it is verified by my soul. If we understand the verifications of our soul correctly, then those communications will be our ONLY infallible guide on this planet. If we meet a teacher that speaks to our souls then we can know that we can trust such a teacher as long as that verification continues.

An extra earthly source is not necessarily a “higher” source. I would not even consider anyone a true seeker if he or she accepted my teachings without feeling some verification from the Soul.

I’m aware that many are not interested in being my students or teachers, or that of any one else for that matter. A reader says that not being a student or teacher is not a position of limbo. “It is merely walking another path.” I agree that it is walking another path, but I would call it the path of Limbo. Such a person only learns by trial and error, not by a force that is intelligently harnessed. Therefore, his true learning is at glacier speed unless he has a strong soul contact. He may be very intelligent, but his intelligence is from his past learnings rather than present evolution.

You say that you learn from everyone you meet. So do I, but the amount that we learn from trivial daily encounters is very small indeed. Learning from daily encounters compared to learning from a person with some definite knowledge is like trying to get a tan from the stars as compared to the Sun. You get some light from the stars but the effect is hardly noticeable. Everything produces some effect, but some effects are much more profound than others.

Telling yourself that all effects are the same is a method many use to “rest” from making any progression for a number of lives.

I hope your rest is nearly over my brother. Rouse yourself and realize that progression takes a strenuous effort and is not poured into you like you are a jar.

You talk as if there are many paths. This is an illusion. There only seems to be many because all of us (and I mean all) take detours so the road home that each takes is woven a different way. But in the crisscrossing of the Path on the way home each entity has to cross the Path many times. Each time he does his Soul affirms to him the Path is there and that he is doing something right. Finally, each entity learns to Hold his “mind steady in the light.” It is here he understands the oneness of souls and the oneness of the Path.

I neither claim nor desire to be a go-between your soul and yourself. I claim to have a certain amount of knowledge that will be beneficial to many seekers. Knowledge, contrary to popular belief, does not come from within. In this world it is stimulated from without and verified from within. If you take a baby and never let him have human contact then he will never know anything to speak of. He and all of us must be stimulated first.

It sounds as if you are not looking for stimulation.

Those who are ready for service seek to stimulate or be stimulated by more than random contacts.

It is true that I have a level of understanding of the principles I teach. And when another reaches that level of understanding by communicating it with me, then the two of us will have a certain merging of soul energy. At that point I will know that he knows and he or she will know that I know he knows.

If you want to learn Spanish, it is a great aid to hear the language spoken by one who knows. Without this help you may never pick up the inflections correctly.

With spiritual knowledge a true teacher is a great stimulant and helper. He is by no means an unjust authority. He is merely saying “I have certain knowledge available to share. If you want to participate, I’ll help you acquire it. If not, ignore me.” The moment a teacher tries to assume dominion over the souls of mankind he loses his perception of the truth, and all teachings will have deceptions in them. He then does the true teacher a favor by gathering the self-deluded away to himself.

You indicate that the answer to the question “Who and/or What Am I?” cannot be put into words.

I will relate a truth few have considered: “The Word is God…” With God all things are possible. Therefore, if a thing is understood then it is possible to express it in words, though I will add that words may fall short of a full communication. To say “I understand, but cannot express…” is to say “I feel something, but I do not understand neither do I comprehend.”

To refuse to acknowledge that you do not understand is to close the door to knowledge.

To merely answer “I AM” is to tell me no more about who you are than what an atom or a rock is. If they could speak, they could accurately declare “I AM.”

What are you that makes you different than the lesser lives?

I hope you take this in the spirit it was intended.

“Your manuscript is both good and original, but the part that is good is not original and the part that is original is not good.” — Samuel Johnson (1709 – 1784), (attributed)

Removing Barriers

Removing Barriers

We are not our physical bodies, but there are three worlds of form that create for us vehicles that we use, but yet we are not them. The Physical body is just one of our vehicles.

No matter where you are you must rely on the revelations from your True Self as your guide to truth.

You find yourself on an unknown path that takes you away from home. As you follow it, you deceptively think the path is taking you home. Finally, as the territory gets more and more unfamiliar you realize that you are not going toward home — you are going away. When you realize how far away you are, you become despondent and feel alone for a time. Then, you rouse yourself and realize that the only way back is along the path that took you there in the first place. It’s a long journey but when you finally get courage to begin you feel a burden has been lifted. You know the path will be difficult and the obstacles great, but the joy of beginning is yours…

Upon arriving home you are reunited with your family (God — the One Great Life), but that which is YOU remains.

Question: Are we separate from the “One Great Life,” God, the Universe, etc., in any way other than our belief in that separation?

It may surprise you to know that the answer is Yes.

Here we arrive at some knowledge that you will not read in books. The books you read tell you that belief causes your separation from the One Great Life. That is not true. If it were true then the fact that you now believe that you are one with God would remove the barriers…

But it doesn’t.

The barriers are still there. You are still Carole, and I am still Joseph even though we both hold a similar belief in the One Great Life.

The very fact that you are in a separate physical body from me — and if you pinch your body it will hurt you more than pinching my body would hurt you — illustrates that a belief in oneness has very little effect in the separation we find ourselves in.

A belief in oneness creates oneness no more than the person lost on the path (see above parable) can get home by believing he is home. However a belief that he CAN get home is the beginning — the all important beginning.

Before you can go home you must do more than believe. You must obtain certain keys of knowledge. You must learn WHO/WHAT YOU ARE in your present condition. You must learn where you are on the Path before you can tread the Path. Going back to the parable of the Path: If you are far away from home, yet believe you are home, then you are in a great state of disadvantage, because you will not begin the journey home. If you do not begin the journey home, you will never go back.

If it is not your belief that created the separation from God, then what is it? The answer brings you close to WHO/WHAT YOU ARE.

Also continue contemplating what you are not. Is what you are not (the great illusion) the believing part of yourself?

Some are apologetic about the use of the mind but a pragmatic person must be somewhat so inclined. The plane of the mind is higher than the emotional (astral) where the majority of humanity have their polarization. Most of what people call “intuition” is also astral.

True intuition reveals principles and one principle can reveal a thousand facts, but it may take more than a thousand facts to reveal one principle. A principle is closely aligned to what I call “Keys” in my teachings.

In order to guide you to a realization the teacher must be there himself

Many seem to have the general New Age belief that all knowledge is within and that you do not need a teacher because all you have to do is look within to find an answer.

This is an illusion, and is a thoughtform that one must carry for a few lives to attain a certain level of understanding about the Life within.

To illustrate my point let us take examples of certain people who have had nowhere to search but within.

Every once in a while, we hear stories of mislead parents who lock their kid in a room for 5, 10, or even 15 years. They allow the child no contact with the outside world and slide his or her food under the door.

If the child was six years old when this began and is sixteen when he was released then he will still see himself as a six year old and have little or no recollection of this 10 year period. He will also have little or no growth.

If the child was nine when this experience began and is released at nineteen then he will still believe he is nine.

In other words; by only looking within his growth came to a standstill.

I am not saying that the truth is only without either. If one only looks without, his growth will also come to a standstill. One needs to search without and verify within to maximize spiritual growth.

Therefore, one who refuses to consider the knowledge that is without will find his spiritual growth at a standstill.

Therefore, I do not apologize for being a teacher in this world. My job is to stimulate all those seeking for truth and their next step.

A reader says he needs to know more about my personal life before he can take me seriously.

He does not realize that the personality throws up a cloud that hides the light of truth? This is because all personalities are different, and the ways that my personality is different from yours.

Let’s take the greatest teacher, the Christ for example. Many were bothered by His personality; and, after His life’s work and His crucifixion, He had only 120 followers. But shortly after He left, His followers, thousands and then millions sought after Him and His teachings. This was because His personality was out of the way only His words and teachings remained, plus His invisible Presence.

You have to decide by non-personality methods whether or not my words are true. You are stimulated by without and contemplate within, without astral influences entering in.

You say you want to know how I live? Feel how I live in my writings. You want to know if I have a loving heart — feel the love in the givingness of my words. You want to know if I am honorable. Every false teacher will tell you that he is. I will show you honor by the consistency of my words if you follow them over a period of time. You ask if I am serving “all Life.” I am here as a servant — free of charge to “all life” that comes forward.

Question: Why do I think of death as an enemy that needs overcoming?

In the sense of continuance of life, you are right there is no death, but most would agree that we are currently plagued by the death of the physical body.

The reason it is advantageous is because it brings us greater freedom to communicate in the physical when desired, and, for the path of humanity, the next stage of greater freedom is always desirable.

There are seven worlds or spheres of matter and we are presently in the one of coarsest vibration. In this world we are greatly handicapped because we are stuck here. Those who have not overcome death cannot consciously travel anywhere but the physical. The only exception is that some travel briefly to the astral and come back with a partial recollection, but that still leaves five other worlds or planes where even this person cannot go.

One way to visit the two worlds higher than the physical is to die (physically). In this case some wind up in the astral world and become stuck there. He cannot now visit the physical world where many of his friends and family are and he usually can’t go to the higher worlds either.

Those who are subject to physical death are not free on either side of the veil. It’s like being told that you cannot leave your home town. You may not be unhappy with that restriction when you are young, but when you grow up the desire to see the country becomes overwhelming. When you realize you are restricted then you will want to be free.

Those who overcome physical death take a great step (but not the ultimate) toward greater freedom. They are able to visit freely all the three lower worlds of form, and are given the keys to explore the formless worlds.

I know of no one who will choose slavery to freedom after he realizes that greater freedom is there waiting…

“He who lives for humanity does even more than him who dies for it.” — Helena P. Blavatsky (HPB)

A Higher Form of Teaching

A Higher Form of Teaching

Those who have overcome death we call the “Masters.” They don’t teach in the same manner as we are used to being taught. They just do not pour information into you because it is understood that even if they were to put the mysteries of the universe in plain book form that very few if any would understand them.

The teaching method often used for aspiring disciples is a concept called “The Hint Principle.” The way this works is that the teacher gives you some data around the principle that he wants you to know, but not the principle itself. You must take the hints and figure out the principle by contemplating the “seed thoughts” in the light of your soul using your intuition.

The time between major hints should be 3-7 days with a week being the optimum. In the beginning many will be frustrated that the knowledge is not just given to them and others will want more hints in a shorter period of time, but after a period of time when enlightenment is felt the wisdom of this teaching method will be seen. It is comparable to the person who has earned a fortune starting with nothing to one who has inherited one. The first is much wiser in the use of money and if the world takes it away from him he can earn it all over again.

If you should die before you learn all the principles you will take the knowledge with you and be all the more prepared in the next incarnation. If knowledge is just given you, you may lose it at death.

The First Principle of Knowledge: “Who and/or What Am I?”

Hint: To say God, the Soul, the Higher Self is not enough. To understand what you are you must also understand what you are not.

For instance, a person may buy an expensive car and like it so much that he begins to identify with it to the extent that if the car is damaged, he or she feels pain. We understand, however, that we are not our cars, but a car is a vehicle that we use to explore the physical world.

There is the real YOU that uses vehicles to explore the worlds of form. What are the vehicles that most people identify with and think that is their “Selves,” but in reality is not their Selves at all?

“Who and/or What Am I?” seems to be a very basic concept to a general seeker, but the full understanding is not known to any person living on the earth in a physical body. Nevertheless, a series of revelations are acquired by seekers as they tread the path home. The basic understanding of a seeker is that our true self is an immortal self with no beginning and no end — that we are either God or a part of God and that we have no limitations. This is all well and good but it doesn’t shed much more light than the Christian phrase “three in one and one in three” espoused by the “born-again” religious person. There is a very deep truth that is to revealed there, but he has no idea what it is.

There is an ancient occult statement that says “words veil truth.” The truth of who you are is veiled by the pet phrases everyone recites. When a disciple understands the truth behind the words and writes them down to the best of his ability, he will know that, even though they seem to be plain, few will understand it. On the other hand, when a second disciple who also sees the truth behind the words communes with the first disciple on the subject then there will be a soul-to-soul communication, and the first will know that the second understands. At this point the understanding of the student and teacher become one.

Some believe that we are already immortal. All living beings are immortal in the sense of the continuance of life, but few beings have overcome physical death. Those who have can allow their bodies to be destroyed and recreate them according to their desires — just as the Christ restored his body after it was destroyed. Can you do that yet?

“I Am that I Am” is another answer sometimes given to the question at hand .

The phrase “I Am That I Am” originally comes from the Bible. After wandering in the desert herding sheep for forty years, Moses did a lot of contemplating about God, and what he would ask him if he should ever get a chance to talk to Him. When he finally got his big chance — what did he ask?

He asked God for His name.

Why?

Because in those days the name revealed something about the destiny or the character of a man or woman. It still does today but on a more subconscious level.

To this great question that Moses spent decades contemplating, the answer was “I Am that I Am.”

Or was it?

Think about it. This statement makes no sense at all, and all the scholars in the world have not shed any light on it. Neither has any channeling or New Age book even though many use the phrase on a regular basis.

The reason it does not make sense as quoted is because it was a mistranslation.

In the Hebrew it reads “EHYEH ASER EHYEH” and is usually translated as “I Am that I Am.” My writings render it “I Am Becoming.”

Let us quote the verses using the Concordant Version which I deem to be the most accurate English translation available:

“Yet Moses said to the One, Elohim (God): Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the sons of Israel from Egypt?

Then He said I shall come to be with you…” Ex 3:11-12

Some manuscripts use the word EHYEH here so this verse could read:

“Then he said I AM BECOMING with you…”

Now this is an interesting thought. God not only becomes that which he decides to become within his own being, but he is BECOMING with and through Moses.

In other words, Moses was told to not fear because part of God’s BECOMING was to take place through the oneness of Moses and God working together with one purpose as one being. This is also true for us. God works through each of us and BECOMES who He decides to be through us so long as we follow the Spirit of God within each of our inner selves.

Let us continue with the Concordant translation:

“Now Moses said to the One, Elohim: Behold! When I am coming to the sons of Israel, and I say to them, The Elohim of your fathers sends me to you, then they will say to me, What about His name? What shall I say to them?

“Then Elohim spoke to Moses: I shall come to be just as I am coming to be. And he said thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, I-Shall-Come-to-Be has sent me to you.”

Then in the footnote alternative renderings are given. Let me quote:

“I shall come…coming to be. Literally: I AM BECOMING, or as traditionally rendered, I am that I am.”

Now to verse 15:

“And Elohim said further unto Moses: Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, Yahweh, (Jehovah) the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me unto you. This is my name for the eon(age), and this the remembrance of Me for generation after generation.”

Scholars agree that Yahweh is a more correct rendering of the Tetragrammaton (YAV HE VAV HE) than is Jehovah. So keep in mind that Jehovah and Yahweh are one and the same.

Now when God says “this is my name,” was he talking about Yahweh or I AM BECOMING?

An interesting note here is that even though the name Yahweh (or Jehovah) seems to be a new revelation to Moses it is a fact that the name was mentioned over 160 times in the book of Genesis (before the birth of Moses) But then, the Bible seems to contradict itself in Exodus 6:3

“And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”

So why did God say this when Jehovah was written over 160 times in the book of Genesis?

Part of the reason for this is that I AM THAT I AM and JEHOVAH are essentially the same. Just like ISN’T is short for IS NOT, but the meaning is the same. JEHOVAH is short for I AM THAT I AM.

So why was this revelation of the name to Moses such a big deal when the Israelites already seemed to have the name?

The answer is that they did not have the meaning of the name which is also true of this generation, for the world today does not have the meaning either, for it takes a revelation to understand completely.

What God really said to Moses was:

“I AM BECOMING that which I wish TO BECOME. Go tell Israel that HE WHO IS BECOMING has sent you.”

This gives us a substantial hint as to “Who and/or What Am I?”
