Sacred Text
A reader posted that after reading my writings in the archives that he thought they should be classified as scripture or sacred text.
First let me state that I appreciate any appreciation of the writings and that you see the Holy Spirit in many of my words. No greater compliment can one give to another.
That said, I have no desire to have my words proclaimed as sacred or scripture. This is the reason.
In ages past having a canon was important to teach the people with the voice of authority. If you quote scripture then that settled the argument and the people followed without question.
However, in this age a large number of people will, for the first time, escape the mark of the beast. Instead of being as beastly lambs who mindlessly follow they are to become as gods knowing good from evil and apply the first two keys of Decision and Judgment.
If we set up any group of writings as scripture this merely reinforces the God without and makes the power of the beast more difficult to escape in this age.
Any writings one reads where the spirit speaks to the soul are scripture, but one person can read such writings and have soul contact and another will feel and see nothing. In truth any scripture is only scripture when the principle behind the words and the reader become one.
For example, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God,” are mere words to the atheist, but holy scripture to he who has eyes to see.
Here is an interesting Mormon scripture on scripture:
“And this is the ensample unto them, that they shall speak as they are moved upon by the Holy Ghost. And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.” D&C 68:3-4
The promise is out there for all of us. When we write as moved upon by the Spirit our words can qualify to be as true, or scriptural, as were the ancient prophets.
Kingdom Opportunities
A reader is puzzled by this selection from Chapter 65 of The Gospel of the Nazirenes:
- And at that time Yeshua said to his disciples, Preach to all the world, saying, ‘Strive to receive the mysteries of Light, and enter into the kingdom of Light, for now is the accepted time and now is the day of salvation.
- Don’t put off from day to day, and from cycle to cycle and æon to æon, in the belief, that when you return to this world you will succeed in gaining the mysteries , and entering into the kingdom of light.
- For you don’t know when the number of perfected souls will be filled up, and then the gates of the kingdom of light will be shut, and from hence none will be able to come in thereby, nor will any go forth.
- Strive you that you may enter while the call is made, until the number of perfected souls will be sealed and complete, and the door is shut.
She then comments:
This is an interesting statement. Is there really a set number of perfected souls that will fill up the Kingdom? This has already been worked out, I’m sure, and that God knows exactly who will be coming through His door. This is also telling us of reincarnation in number 8.
I didn’t realize that the Kingdom of light would ever be shut, unless He is talking about those *souls* that remain and prefer to stay in the darkness? Can you explain this?
JJ: I haven’t had time to read more than a few selections from this version of the gospel so I haven’t had a chance to test it against my soul, but what Jesus says here is somewhat in harmony with the teachings of DK.
Here is what he says about it. He states that there are cycles of opportunity where the inhabitants of one kingdom can move up to another. For example in the days of Atlantis the advanced animals were able to move into the human kingdom. After the cycle passed the doorway between these kingdoms was closed and a new door opened to the fifth kingdom – the Kingdom of God. This time advanced humans had the opportunity to move up to the God kingdom.
Just like the doorway from the animal to the human had a beginning and ending period so does this. DK does not name a number in the immediate cycle, but during this whole greater cycle on earth he tells us that about 60% will become initiates.
Because a cycle ends does not mean that there will be an end to progress. In a later time another cycle will begin and the animals will again have a chance to move into the human and the laggards among humanity will also have a future cycle to enter into the Kingdom of God.
The DaVinci Code
A reader posted a review of the DaVinci Code. He thought it was an interesting book and I agree. Those who want to follow up with some additional non-fictional research may want to read: “Holy Blood; Holy Grail”
This was the book that started the whole controversy that laid the foundation for the DaVinci Code. Another interesting and more recent one is “Rex Deus.”
Since reading the DaVinci Code I became interested in the other books by Dan Brown and bought all of them on audio CD. I don’t have much time to read so I listen to as much audio as I can while driving and working.
Of his three other books Angels and Demons is by far the best. I liked it even better than the DaVinci Code. I think DaVinci became such a best seller because of the controversy it raised more than the fact that it is his best book. I think also it has a better more intriguing title.
The title “Angels and Demons” doesn’t sound so interesting, but it is one of the best fiction books I have ever read. It keeps your interest from the beginning to end.
As with the DaVinci Code Brown shows himself to be an excellent researcher and reveals a knowledge of the Catholic church and antiquities that is very fascinating.
Some critics accuse him of some technical errors but this doesn’t interfere with a great story.

Next to Britt Gillette’s “Conquest of Paradise”, this is the best book I’ve read in a long time. I’m a first time Dan Brown reader but I’m hooked! I stayed up all night and didn’t quit until I finished, blurry eyed and sleepy. I found myself believing every word and had to stop and remember that it’s just fiction! I was amazed at the inside information about the Vatican (especially the library), and I finally got out a map and books from my trip to Rome to see if I could find all the churches. Anti-matter, illuminati, choosing a pope – all of it was fascinating. When I finished, I had to laugh thinking about the fact they never ate, slept or made comfort stops and neither could I. The ending was a total surprise! Anyone who enjoys non-stop action and information shouldn’t miss this one.
If looking for a book with the wit of the DaVinci Code, but with a faster plot line, this is definitely the book to choose. Although the plot is very similar to that of the DaVinci Code, it has much more suspense and provides for a much quicker read as soon as you get past the first fifty pages. After that, prepare for one wild ride. That, and the scenery, as well as the characters, are written in much more vivid detail. When comparing Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon stories, this one is certainly the better of the two.
