The Reappearance of the Christ

The Reappearance of the Christ

We will now do something we have not done before and that is to go through one of the Alice A. Bailey books which were dictated by Djwhal Khul, the Tibetan Master. The book we will study is called “The Reappearance of the Christ.”

Assignment:

Read the first chapter which starts at: LINK

When you finish with this click “Next Section” until you get to chapter Two.

As you read and find something of interest please post your thoughts on it. If a question arises in your mind go ahead and post it.

The book begins with this quote:

Whenever there is a withering of the law and an uprising of lawlessness on all sides, then I manifest Myself.

For the salvation of the righteous and the destruction of such as do evil, for the firm establishing of the Law, I come to birth age after age. – Bhagavad Gita, Book IV, Sutra 7, 8. [5]

What are the reasons a Messiah will come and how do you expect this to play out in this age?

Thanks for your postings on Chapter One of The Reappearance of the Christ.

It is interesting that many people think that The Reappearance of the Christ is anything other than the appearance of the actual entity who was the Christ 2000 years ago.

While it is true that the head of the Hierarchy can work through groups as well as individuals it is also true that this individual promised the world that he, as an entity, would come again. This means that the second coming of Christ will be more than merely the Christ principle working through various individuals or groups.

For one thing the individual entity who is Christ merely began his seventh initiation in his first coming and has to complete it in his second coming. This will involve a great individual work on his part.

Exactly how he will come is not given. Last time he came by overshadowing the disciple Jesus. He could do the same thing with another disciple this time or he could come in a body of his own. He could be born as a babe or manifest as an adult. He could come as a man or woman or manifest from any race or country.

There is only one thing disciples know within their hearts. That is, when he does manifest the true worker of love and light will recognize his vibration and his words. His teachings will bring forth a flashing forth of the intuition and seem familiar.

On the other hand, those with resistance to light and love will fear and hate him and his work just like they did last time.

Notice that there are two strong forces that will draw him. The first is the will of God as the Logos picks it up. The second will be the power of invocation from humanity itself.

This power of invocation is a mystery that has seldom been fully understood by disciples. We tend to think that when the time is right the Master will just appear not considering that we have anything to do with it. But we do have something to do with it. Our part in the plan involves using the power of invocation.

How is this done?

We blend our energies manifesting this pull on the Divine every time:

  • A person says a prayer hoping for a better world
  • He meditates on the presence of the Master
  • He seeks for greater knowledge
  • He seeks for peace and justice on the earth
  • He seeks right human relations
  • He seeks and petitions to God for the alleviation of human suffering
  • He sees the roadblocks blocking the way of freedom and desires that these blocks be removed
  • He senses that it is the will of God that the Christ will manifest

Finally, when the combined energies of invocation accumulate over a period of time a point of tension is reached. This point of tension creates a window of opportunity. A great point of tension was reached during World War II. This caused the Christ to prepare for manifestation. A second point of tension is approaching as tension increases among the nations today.

This power of invocation is hinted at in the Book of Revelations:

“And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.” Rev 8:3-4

Thus does the power of invocation send a pull that reaches up to the throne of God attracting his attention to the need of the time.

Note that the most famous prayer given by DK is an invocation, in fact it is called “The Great Invocation.”

Assignment:

Realize that each stanza has invocative energy pertinent to the return of the Christ. Tell us how each stanza applies to his return.

From the point of Light within the Mind of God Let light stream forth into the minds of men. Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God Let love stream forth into the hearts of men. May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known Let purpose guide the little wills of men – The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men Let the Plan of Love and Light work out. And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
