Initiation

Initiation

Since a member has initiated a new forum and drawing comments I thought I would say a few words about initiation.

Various orders in the past have had their rites and initiations. To advance one had to learn certain rules and pass certain tests. Even modern day fraternities have such programs to become a fully fledged member. The Brotherhood of Light is no exception. There are nine initiations for us humans to pass through – seven to be done on this planet and two extra-planetary. One must pass the first five to become a Master of Wisdom – and only a small handful have accomplished this.

So what is the main quality that is looked for to become an initiate? In the past it was revealed that one must master the physical, astral, the mind, see through glamour and illusions and many other criteria. But there is one quality that we will emphasize regularly that has not been made clear before to my knowledge.

And that it is:

“A true initiate is one who initiates. The greater the initiate the greater will be the repercussions of that which he initiates.”

When we use this as a guide it becomes easy to identify many of the initiates of the Brotherhood throughout history. Generally we have to wait a while after the server dies or leaves the scene before we can clearly see the power of the initiation.

Using this as a criteria it becomes obvious that the Christ and the Buddha are two of the greatest initiates in the history of the planet. In more recent times obvious initiates are Lincoln, Washington, Einstein, Newton. Churchill and many others. The interesting thing is that the obvious initiates are not always associated with spirituality. Initiates of the Brotherhood can manifest in any type of service, but the key factor is that they will initiate some project that will help mankind or move them forward in their evolution.

As we move forward in the groups created there will be many who will desire to be appointed to leadership as has been done in the past. When leadership is appointed the best leaders rarely rise to the surface. In the coming age leadership will be determined by the power to initiate for the exercise of the power of initiation causes the lights of the world to come out from under their bushels and so shine as a guide or an ensign for all the struggling lives looking for a helping hand.

So I want to throw out the challenge to all who read this and feel within themselves a call to service to their fellow men and women. The key to initiation is this. Find a good thing to do and then do it. When you begin to use the power of initiation for good you will then attract the attention of the Brotherhood. Before this time you may have assistance of various types from the unseen worlds, but to attract the notice of the Masters you must initiate or cooperate in a plan of initiation.

A great plan of initiation is unfolding before humanity and there will be opportunities for all to serve to the highest of one’s ability. To this end do I teach and serve.

Believing Too Much?

Let me pose an interesting consideration for Mormon readers who have been asking questions.

In Joseph Smith’s teachings, the Articles of Faith, as well as the scriptures we are promised that revelation has not stopped but continues. There are many promises that “knowledge will be poured out upon the heads of the saints.” Joseph even went so far as to say:

“A man is saved no faster than he gets knowledge, for if he does not get knowledge, he will be brought into captivity by some evil power in the other world, as evil spirits will have more knowledge, and consequently more power than many men who are on the earth. Hence it needs revelation to assist us, and give us knowledge of the things of God.” DHC 4:588

Now the interesting thing is that since the death of Joseph Smith in 1844 there has been no revelation given to the Mormon Church nor any of it’s offshoots that shed any light on higher principles of any kind that I can see.

Yet if we look at the teachings of Blavatsky, Bailey and even some of mine many principles and additional knowledge is revealed.

So what’s the deal here? Has God just been silent, sitting on his throne doing nothing for over 150 years or perhaps he has been talking to many outside the church as promised in the Book of Mormon?

To me it would be sad that if the only usable higher knowledge that has been revealed in all this time is through some tricky devil who gives us nine truths so we will buy into one lie.

I for one would rather sift through material with 90% truth than the alternative for most Mormons which is nothing.

Of course, the orthodox Mormon would argue that the authorities are giving out revelation all the time. But the last “inspired” utterance that came forth when I was still in the church was that we were supposed to clean up our yards. That’s not the kind of revelation that true seekers are looking for.

When one looks at all that is out there he will find that much of it is from human imagination and astral entities, but there are numerous true revelations having nothing to do with traditional Mormonism that will help all who are willing to receive.

Here’s another great statement from Joseph Smith:

“I believe all that God ever revealed, and I never hear of a man being damned for believing too much; but they are damned for unbelief.” DHC, Vol.6, Ch.22, p.477

Do the New Agers believe too much? Maybe this is the true road to salvation.
