JJ:
I'd like to welcome the new members -- Sarah, Rose and Silver. Interesting step, Sarah, to post with a video. You seem like a sweet person. Your periodic paralysis is probably due to a lack of alignment of your physical-etheric-astral bodies. The problem will heal itself if you do not fear and focus attention on the things in life that make you happy and take attention away from even thinking about the paralysis.

"I noticed that you have read few books by Theosophists other then HPB, you read one by CW Leadbeater. I just wondered if there was any particular reason you have not read more of them, such as the Mahatma letters to AP Sinnett or books about the life of HPB, etc."
JJ:
I'm glad you jogged my memory on this. I have read the Mahatma Letters and a couple biographies on Madame Blavatsky. I'll add them to my list. I find I keep remembering more books that I need to add.
I wasn't that impressed with Leadbeater but may read more of him later to give him another chance. I really enjoyed the bios of HPB. She led quite an interesting life. I didn't get a lot of light from the Mahatma Letters. I think DK [Djwhal Khul] has me spoiled. It is difficult to be impressed with anything else after studying him.
Even so, I have read quite a few books that are well written and present old ideas in a unique way.

"I found after reading such books as the 'Voice of the Silence' by HPB and the Mahatma letters and the 'Stanza's of Dyan' part of the 'Secret Doctrine,' my understanding of Alice A Bailey's books became more clear and took on a whole new dimension! Why I can't really explain, it just seemed to be more complete for me, like the early Theosophical literature gave a foundation."
JJ:
Any knowledge of Theosophy can only help with the whole picture. I read all or most of the Bailey books the first time before I read anything from Theosophy. A better understanding of the vocabulary and terms would have really helped but I still got a lot out of them because DK deals so much with principles.

"Yeah, Facebook has a feature like this. I've done this with several books (including the Immortal series). I've tried to get you, JJ, to be more active on Facebook, but noooooooo."
JJ:
I haven't been over to Facebook for about a year. I couldn't figure out how to get anything useful out of using it. I just checked in and found a bunch of friends waiting for approval. One of them was you, as well as several other Keysters. Sorry guys for ignoring you there. I'll check in now and then but not motivated at present to do a lot with it.

"How many children do you have? I cannot remember now. Are your children energy links from your past life or lives, and would some of them have once been against you also in your past life and this is why they came back into your family circle or soul group again so that they could learn particular lessons?"
JJ:
I have seven children. We had them all at home and I delivered six of them. I did my part as a good Mormon and my wife at the time wanted to have "as many kids as God would send." My belief system has significantly changed since then.
They are all good kids. Unfortunately, none of them are very interested in my teachings. My ex wife did all she could to brainwash them against me and toward orthodox Mormonism. Three of my boys are very much into the church. My oldest, Joseph, rebelled and is still trying to figure out his own path. Two of my girls are loosely connected to the church and one has broken completely off.
There are lots of reasons why we meet people again in various lives or have them as family. It is mostly connected with lessons to be learned or service that needs rendering. Any strong emotional link will cause you to meet a person again.

"Also, why did Wayne chose to leave the Earth when he did, or did he have to leave because he did not take care of his health?"
JJ:
Wayne was very frustrated with his life and had been looking forward to going onward for some time. I believe the reason for this can be traced back to his marriage. Before he was married he had the world by the tail and everything he touched turned to gold. After he married and divorced everything turned sour and he lost everything he owned. He blamed all this at first on his ex-wife and then on "the system." He was always seeing this system as an outside force that was making life miserable for him. I think this shift in consciousness from very positive to negative was not part of his soul plan and if he could have stayed in greater harmony with the soul he could have assisted me beyond measure. As it was he was a great friend but was not in alignment with purpose and this was very frustrating to him causing him to relinquish himself to an early death.
I think he will rest and recuperate in the spirit world for a while before he comes back and then I suspect he will do much better in his next life.
Larry W asks about a mini gathering. Physically leaving here for more than a day is difficult since we are taking care of Artie's mom in her old age. After she passes things will change. By the way, thanks for your supportive posts.
Dan quoted my definition of good and evil as follows:
"Good is that which moves us forward in evolution. Evil is that which takes us backward."
In response to this he points out that in my local post series I seem to be ironically taking the conservative view arguing with liberals or progressives.
Does this mean then that I am on the path of evil, taking us backward? I know Dan is not saying this, but I do see the need to clarify here.
That which moves us forward in evolution is not what is labeled today as conservative, liberal or progressive. That which moves us forward is that which actually works and that can be either conservative, liberal or progressive.
A conservative does not necessarily take us backward in evolution and a liberal doesn't always take us forward. It is the Middle Way that uses the best of both sides that moves us forward.
Let us say that you want to learn to speak Spanish and you decide to take a course of learning that spans three years. If all you did in the second year was to review and use that which you learned in the first year your progression would come to a stop. On the other hand, if you were progressive and spent your time studying the third year materials you would miss the fundamentals of the second year and would make no progress either. Then, if you were liberal and ignored the learning of the past and just concentrated on the present, you would forget past learning and your progress would be stopped.
True progress into learning Spanish or the lessons in life involve keeping and reviewing the truths of the past while pursing the greater truths of the present and future.
