JJ:
It's funny. For several years after 9/11 the media kept telling us it was too soon to review 9/11 because the pain was too great.
The real truth however was that they wanted to direct attention away from this event because of fear it would bring support for George W. Bush and frustrate their attack on him.
Now eight years have passed they are revising themselves and ignoring 9/11 because it is too far away.
It is never the right time for the Left to properly cover it because they want to pretend we live in a safe world where we do not need a missile shield or powerful defense and instead put our main concentration on social programs.
As far as questioning leaders goes both sides did it right during the Vietnam War. We questioned both Democratic and Republican administrations but now the Obamacrats are drinking Kool Aid and few on the Left question anything this administration or Congress does.

"Joseph, do you really believe the things you say or do you say them to get people to pipe up?"
JJ:
I believe everything I say unless it is an obvious joke.
"TWall":
"Bush had unprecedented levels of support not only in this country but the entire world."
JJ:
Yeah, for about two weeks then the Democrats and the media joined in a systematic attack to bring him down.
"TWall":
"Then he (and his administration) squandered it all by getting us into two wars (one unnecessary)."
JJ:
I'd say the war in Iraq was more important for the security of the world than the war in Afghanistan.
"TWall":
"And then he tried to shift everyone's focus off the wars and onto mundane issues."
JJ:
Like the War on Terror. Sigh. The Left will think this is mundane until the next strike.
"TWall":
"Why did they review the 9/11 Commission Report?"
JJ:
For ammunition against Bush.
"Loki":
"I keep telling you folks this doooooshbag is a paid propagandist for the right."
JJ:
You write one sentence and make two major errors. First you violate the rules of the Statesman with name-calling and secondly you repeat a lie that has been cast at me several times. I write from my own initiative and am not paid by anyone nor am I connected with any organization.
"Loki":
"Why do you think his talking points match the right wing echo machine so perfectly?"
JJ:
I have produced more original thinking here -- that does not echo anyone -- than any Lefty poster has dreamed of. If you want an echo chamber just look in the mirror.
"Loki":
"Maybe you don't listen to the dreck."
JJ:
More name calling. Have you no self control?
"Loki":
"but I do and Joseph is just an echo. Why bother arguing with him? One has to have a mind...."
JJ:
A mind? I could have out-debated you on any issue when I was a kid. You talk big but never back anything up.
JJ:
Joe Wilson was said to have falsely accused Obama of lying about providing health care to illegal aliens. If Obama did not lie, it was the closest thing to it because he certainly deceived.
How is that?
Just days after his promise to not insure illegal aliens he spoke to the Hispanic Caucus of "the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all."
Joe Wilson was right. He did have a plan to insure the illegal aliens by simply declaring them legal.
Now some may argue that Obama was technically telling the truth because the illegals would get health care by being proclaimed legal.
That's like a Mom promising a kid a hamburger and she gives him a fish sandwich. The kid is angry and demands a hamburger. But the mother says, "I've renamed fish. From now on it is hamburger so I did not lie. You have a hamburger.
Did she lie? You make the call.
JJ:
The Left is missing my entire point, which has nothing to do with how we handle the illegal immigration issue. That's another subject for another day.
The point was that Obama said illegal immigrants will not be covered, but indeed Joe Wilson was right in that they will be if we legalize them because legalized citizens will be covered.
Saying that illegals will not be covered when he plans on legalizing and covering them at the first possible opportunity is like calling fish hamburger to make your kid think he's getting what he wants.
The difference in the taste is obvious to the kid and any citizen with discernment. We can see that under the Obama plan the 12 million illegals will indeed be covered just as Joe Wilson thinks.
JJ:
One man (Joe Wilson) breaks protocol and the Left thinks it's the end of the world but they hypocritically thought it was just fine to all join in booing Bush during a speech to Congress.
Then the lowest point in protocol, one that makes Wilson look like Snow White, was when Bush was booed at Obama's inaugural. There should have been outrage from all sides on this but the Left only smiled with approval.
Now some claimed that Bill Clinton was booed by Republicans on occasion, but can't seem to produce any video of it.
There is video though of the Left itself booing both Hillary and Bill.
It is strange indeed to watch the masters of disrupting feign such outrage when they finally catch one guy breaking protocol.
"Run":
"No, Joseph, the point is that Obama did not lie. What Joe Wilson claims is part of the legislation is simply NOT part of the legislation. You can go on speculating all day about future events that likely won't happen, but the fact of the matter is that the only liar in this story is Wilson, and now you, Joseph."
JJ:
There you go again, breaking Statesman rules by calling names. What's worse is that I have not lied.
As I pointed out Obama was technically telling the truth, but deceived, as changing the label on a thing does not change the truth.
If Obama wanted to reveal the truth and not deceive he would have said:
"Illegal aliens will not be insured under this program, but we shall give them all fast track citizenship so in the real world they will be insured. In the future there will virtually be no such thing as an illegal alien so we couldn't cover illegals if we wanted to."
"Blarney":
"However, in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants' healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250 million annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent."
JJ:
So you think Wilson wants health care for illegal's then? Strange thinking you have there. Obviously that section was a part of a much larger bill and he had to vote for the package. Secondly, $250 million is peanuts compared to what's at stake now.
