Rob:
"Can we work on definitions of words that arise from trying to define the words we are currently working on?"
JJ:
Actually, we are doing that now. The first four words; Deva, Agnichaitans, Agnisuryans and Agnishvattas are very interrelated. The plan is to proceed in basic alphabetical order but digress as needed to examine key words related to the word in progress.
Your last post was very good and thought provoking Rob, but I don't think I'll answer it in depth at this time. As we proceed in this dictionary I do not want to examine the meaning in depth as this would make the dictionary very large and take us ages to get through it.
The basic purpose of the dictionary will be to give the DK [Alice A. Bailey/Djwhal Khul] reader an understandable definition as well as helpful background information. We'll expand some on each word, but not to the fullest extent.
Here's the definition for a very key word -- Deva.
These beings are sometimes called members of the angel kingdom and sometimes called agents of the creative mind of God which go forth to do His Will in building all form in the universe.
Even though Devas do not live in the dense physical they create the network wherein the form develops. They do this from the etheric, astral and mental worlds.
There are greater and lesser Devas sometimes called the greater and lesser builders. Many of the greater are considered angels on the evolutionary arc and have passed through the human kingdom. The lesser builders are often called elementals and are on the involutionary arc. These create all physical form that we see about us.
Simply put we could say this. Non physical beings that do not presently incarnate into physical bodies are Devas.
Humans are polarized in the male energy and Devas the female. There are 300 billion greater Devas for this earth.
[End of definition.]
These Devas create form in the astral world. These create the forms in the heavens and hells in the next world that form the habitation of many souls after death. They also create the forms in the devachan.
Even though they exist in a plane above the physical we can still influence them through sound and by our emotional desires. One reason that those who have a powerful one-pointed desire manifest successfully on the physical plane is because these Devas responds to emotion.
[End of definition.]
The next word to research is Agnishvattas.
