[Compiler's Note: The "Local Posts" series of articles found here in "The Archives" are a collection of exchanges between JJ Dewey and others participating on a local online newspaper blog, and were subsequently re-posted by JJ Dewey on The Keys Of Knowledge discussion group. Mr. Schultze says:
"It was a pleasure on Larry King's show when Donald Trump said that Obama is doing a good job considering the mess that Bush left him with.
"That made my day."
JJ:
Looks like his day is now unmade.
Trump now thinks the same way I do and complains that all Obama's spending will strap his grandchildren with debt.

JJ:
Give Obama a chance you say?
I'm happy to give him a chance to present ideas to the American people, but when an idea is presented that can produce disaster should we give that a chance and break our nation's back?
Do I gave a person a chance to dig my own grave as well as my children?
Example:
You and your spouse have $100,000 credit card debt and are having difficulty making the money just to pay the interest.
Amazingly you get a new credit line for an additional $100,000.
Your spouse says: "We can just borrow this extra $100,000 and infuse it into our family finances and this should get us back on track financially."
You say: "Honey, that is a bad idea."
Your spouse says: "But you just need to give my idea a chance."
It is just as insane to give Obama's bad idea of outrageous borrowing a chance.
"Bluth4":
"Joseph, bailouts started during the last administration. How soon you people forget."
JJ:
That's a different subject. I was talking about the stimulus, but I don't like bailouts either no matter who does them.
"ConservoDem" (or "ConfusoDem" -- cute name "Atilla."):
"This is the type of 'thinking' you get from 'Austrian school economists." They actually think they are brilliant. So sad."
JJ:
As usual you've pegged me wrong and you've pegged all economists wrong, for even Keyes wouldn't support the credit card madness I cited.
"Boiseriver":
"Over 60 percent of Americans think he (Obama) can be trusted to turn things around."
JJ:
And around 70% trusted Bush to go to war with Iraq and wanted him to take out Saddam, so I'm sure you cheered him on, right?
"CD":
"No, Joseph, I've pegged you exactly right, whether you recognize it or not. "Further, deficit spending to ameliorate economic recessions is basic to Keynesian economics."
JJ:
Wow, what gall!
Here's a guy claiming to read my mind and when I tell him he didn't read it right he claims I do not know what I am thinking.
Well, I am the world's greatest authority on my own thinking and I know I am not a follower of Austrian economics though they do have some common sense approaches to fiscal responsibility. I do not see any of the schools as having a total grasp on reality but I think Friedman is the closest and most practical.
Even though Keyes supported deficit spending he was smart enough to see the fallacy of the spouse in my credit card example and I doubt if he would support Obama's plan if he were still alive. He might have supported Bush type deficit spending, but not "Obamanomics."
