Election

My Friends,

The election is over and as anticipated Barack Obama has been elected as our new president.

It looks like the trend is following closer to Sharon's predictions than Ruth Montgomery.

I watched television as I saw McCain followed by numerous Republicans who not only congratulated him but pledged that they would reach across the isle in cooperation.

If McCain would have won would the reverse had happened?

Author Erica Jong had this to say a few says ago:

"My friends Ken Follett and Susan Cheever are extremely worried. Naomi Wolf calls me every day. Yesterday, Jane Fonda sent me an email to tell me that she cried all night and can't cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduces her to a bundle of nerves.

"My back is also suffering from spasms, so much so that I had to see an acupuncturist and get prescriptions for Valium.

"After having stolen the last two elections, the Republican Mafia.

"If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets."

We may have avoided a civil war with crazed Democrats by electing Obama but in the end we may have things even more difficult to deal with.

Now that Obama has secured the Presidency he no longer has to parse his words to keep voters on his side. He will feel more freedom to speak his real mind.

Let us watch and listen over the next few weeks and then I will give my predictions concerning the Obama presidency.

My first prediction is that it will not be long before something comes from the Obama camp that will cause some who voted for him to think to themselves: "Hey! This is not what I voted for."
