Intent

Let me tell you why I am short of time. My mother-in-law was visiting my wife's daughter in San Diego about two weeks ago and had a fall and broke her hip. My wife then had to drop everything and fly down there and look after her until she is strong enough to travel.

Since Artie (her real name) and I operate our business together, her absence is causing me to work harder than ever and leave some things undone. In other words, I have less free time than ever for a while.

Let me tell you... I will really be glad to have her back for more reasons than one. Before she returns I am going to have to do a quick clean of the house though, or I'm going to get in trouble.

In a way this accident is a blessing in disguise. Artie's mom has always been very independent and been the one to be the sender and give the orders, but now the situation is reversed and she is in a situation where she is very dependent on my wife. Artie tells me that she feels an appreciation from her mother that she has never experienced before and that this seems to be a healing experience.

Tomorrow night I believe I will have the time to cover the qualities of the disciple but let me ask one more question first.

Xavier mentioned a quality that is definitely in the top ten which is purity of intent.

Now most people believe their intent is pure, but in reality many have blind spots preventing them from seeing their wrong motive.

How can we acquire pure intent and how will we know when we have arrived there?

I've always liked the quote of Tennyson: "My strength is as the strength of ten because my heart is pure." Do you think there is some truth to the words of this poet?
