Thankfulness

My Friends,

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. We did. It is always good to get together with family and mingle and eat.

We indeed have much to be thankful for. I'm not going to repeat the typical sermon you hear in church on this subject. We all know it, but it is worth reviewing in our minds.

The real story of Thanksgiving is veiled by the politically correct crowd. It would be worth your while to check out the unveiled story of the pilgrims. A brief account can be found at:

One of the things that Boise residents are thankful for is a dream season for Boise State Football. At present we are 11-0. The only other unbeaten team in the nation is Ohio State. They are rated the number one team in the nation and we are number 12. We are not rated higher because we are not considered in the same league with these big boys.

We have our final conference game tomorrow (Saturday) 2:15 PM MST on ESPEN2. It will be against Nevada, which is a very tough team that has improved during the season and has devastated its past few opponents. Las Vegas gives Boise a 3 point advantage in the game which is saying that the odds are about fifty-fifty we will win. Unfortunately, we are playing on their turf. Our star running back, who makes about a third of our points, suffered a collapsed lung last time he played and we are hoping that he will be up to the challenge of this game. We also play much better at home so this could be a nail biting game for us. If we win we will be in one of the big bowls, probably New Years eve.

I've finally finished fine tuning the audio of "The Immortal," Book 1. I've just posted Chapters 16-21. The whole audio of Book I is now on the web. I know I'm not a professional reader, but I think it flows as good as some other authors that I have heard read their books and many listeners like to hear books read by the author. I've had both positive and negative feedback on my reading, but to get it read better than I can do it would cost more than I can afford at present.

If any of you listen to this in the next few days and find any flaws I need to correct please let me know, as I am going to have several thousand copies made for free distribution. Part of the plan is to send around 1,000 audio books out to Libraries with the hope that people will check them out and then want to read the whole series. If this is successful we will send additional copies to libraries.

This book is posted in the most compressed that works, which is 16 kbps. The final will be in 128 kbps which will help the quality somewhat.
