The Labors

My Friends,

We've been getting a lot of off topic posts lately, which brings to mind a rule for the list that was established some time ago. Within any single day members are limited to two off topic (OT) posts. I sent a couple back to Dean recently for this reason, but I notice that Xavier had five OT's approved. Because we have three moderators this will sometimes happen. I approved two of his and didn't realize there were others that had already passed.

Let me ask the members help in moderating their own OT posts to two a day. If you have a lot to say just combine two posts into one.

Xavier makes a good point about not looking for the Christ on a personality level. He is not coming to be our sidekick or to solve problems for us that we can accomplish on our own.

He is not coming to destroy the wicked or to force men to do good. Neither is he coming to save us from our sins. Instead, he is coming with eternal words and teachings that will touch the soul of humanity so universal brotherhood will be understood and peace on earth good will to men will become a reality.

So far we have covered three of the seven angels or labors of disciples of Christ.

The first labor concerned the physical world, the second the emotional and the third the dissemination of knowledge.

The next two labors are also given in symbols.

8And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
Revelation 16:8-11

What kind of labor is represented by the sun and why would men be scorched by fire?

What is the seat of the beast and what labor is related to it? Why would the labor produce darkness?

Committee--a group of men who individually can do nothing but as a group decide that nothing can be done.
