Do We Eat People?

Dean:

He who stands as the true extremist is seen as one who stands in the middle to the ones who truly stand in the middle.

How could anyone following the Middle Way see an extremist who cuts off an innocent victim's head with a dull knife (while praising Allah) as a person who is in the middle?

After not answering my question but giving a diversion Dean makes another attempt.

Dean:

If you are truly in the middle way then you see all points of view. Not just your own. That was the implication.

Do you think the christ finds someone elses perception hard to understand or disturbing? If so then why did he say to love them.

The middle way is christ consiousness.

Again you give a non answer. Understanding another's point of view does not by any means of logic mean you see them as being in the middle. I understand the point of view of the Moslem extremists who cut heads off and bomb innocent victims (as their prime target) but DO NOT see them as being in the middle. According to your initial statement I should see them as being in the middle and I do not. This proves you need to readjust your initial thinking here.

Dean:

Who is our enemies then? We have mentioned extremists.

Only half the extremists are seen as an enemy by the majority. The other half are usually embraced. It depends on what your extremism is leading you to do.

Dean:

Remember the comment that finally enlightened the buddha was something like; "There is not one steak here that is not the best."

This is a really dumb statement no matter who said it. If it were true we need to take the word "best" out of the dictionary. It also has nothing to do with the argument.

Dean:

Remember this realization is equal to this; "There is not one person who is not the most pure."

There is no other way you can love your enemy except through this realization.

I am living proof that you are wrong. I do not see my enemies in this light at all yet I love them despite the fact that some are certainly not as pure as others--at least in this reality.

Dean:

People who admit to being extreme. Know they are extreme. But they also think it's for a good cause. So at the same time they think it's not extreme anyway.

Completely wrong, and I am living proof again. When I have been in the extreme I did not think it was not extreme while at the same time thinking it was extreme. I knew I was being extreme and at no time thought I was anything but extreme.

Dean:

If a good cause is called extreme. Then we are all for an extreme cause.

Completely wrong again. No one said that all good causes are on the extreme. Only a handful are.

Dean:

The middle person does not have a narrow perspective on how things are. Does not think in terms of right and wrong. That's only the deal for extremists.

It is strange that you should say this right after quoting Jesus as saying it is wrong to hate your enemies and right to love them.

Dean:

If you say Woody is putting the cart before the horse. It means you are putting the cart before the horse.

By this strange logic then if you think Jeffrey Dahmer was a cannibal it means you also eat people. Sigh.
