Well here we have a complete design for a self-sustaining floating city/nation. Well thought out and some very good ideas. Like a mountain range on one end that could be headed into a Sunami to dissipate it.
Someone has put a lot of thought into designing this.
This is really worth checking out Blayne. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I've found several visionaries with dreams of building a city on the sea, but this is the best I have seen.
The man's name is Eugene Tsui, apparently a Chinese American. He also has a design for a city within a building two miles high. The guy's got quite an imagination.
Tsui's incorporating two ideas that I have thought about. First is to create the main building materials from the sea itself. This is one reason I was interested in Pykrete which is mostly water. His idea is to create a concrete material from the salts and minerals of the sea water itself. I wonder if such building blocks have ever been produced.
The second is to make the city mobile making it possible to move it if need be. I think Tsui is a person we will want to consult with when the time comes.
