Next it is written:
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11
The group has cast the aspiration of the ego from the center of decision in the head to its right place in lower self where it no longer can cause division in the body of the group. Even so, fiery desire is strong and still seeks to override the selflessness of the spirit and assume control.
Three things give disciples domination over the dragon:
Blood is a symbol of life and the lamb is a symbol of submission to the Christ consciousness or the soul before the lion of Christ is manifest. The group, which in the past submitted themselves to the outward authority of the dragon and his angels, now must subject themselves to the inner Christ. Their very life must now be guided by principles revealed through the soul.
Their testimony is manifest as the two witnesses, or the words and the works, which they have accepted through the soul. They teach eternal words and perform selfless works of service to their fellow men and women. Their teachings and service takes their attention away from low desire and aids them in subduing the dragon.
The true disciple is willing to give his life as a sacrifice if necessary, but more often than not, the physical sacrifice will not be required. Even so, he still gives his life. The life he yields is the life that is held dear by the dragon of desire and lower aspiration. He gives up to the life and control of the lower self in favor of the control of the "lamb" or the Christ within. In many ways this is more difficult than sacrificing the physical life. For one thing the temptation to revert to the lower is always there tugging at the disciple and the group. He must stay in focus and cease to love the lower nature and embrace the higher.
After the complete sacrifice of the lower life is made the disciple is pleased to find that the higher can fulfill the lower nature better than the lower can fulfill itself. He becomes holy, or whole, because his whole self is happy with the Christ self in charge.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:12
Now the group is guided by the soul the higher nature rejoices.
"woe to the inhabitants of the earth..."
These are they who reject the dominion of the inner Christ and are ruled by their carnal desires.
"and of the sea..."
Water is a symbol of the emotional nature. These are they who are governed by their feeling nature and the desires of the ego.
"the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."
The lower nature has a life of its own among humanity as a whole. Whenever an individual or group breaks free from control of the dragon it is as if his energy is redoubled in keeping those in his dominion under complete control. Even so, the dragon reads the writing on the wall and knows it is just a matter of time before he loses more control until he has none at all. This causes him to have great wrath and intensify his efforts to dominate.
And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Revelation 12:13
To preserve his power the dragon stirs up those who are centered in the carnal and emotional nature to suppress the creative power of the female energy, which can create a holy work (the man child) with a destiny to elevate the human race.
The next verse reads:
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Revelation 12:14
Contemplate and give the meaning.
Write something to suit yourself and many people will like it; write something to suit everybody and scarcely anyone will care for it. Jesse Stuart
