Moderation, OT's

My Friends,

One thing that makes this list different is that we are quite tolerant even to the extent of allowing a reasonable amount of expression from those who disagree with us or see themselves as more enlightened than ourselves.

The moderators are usually more tolerant than the group as a whole in allowing potentially distractive posts. When those with an unusual philosophy appear it often turns out that the group forces more moderation upon the moderators.

I thought Woody sounded like an interesting character and since posting has been lax lately that it would be stimulating to allow him to give some of his views.

Now that has basically been done and we have an idea of where he is coming from we will yield to the will of the group and steer the posts more toward the topic of the teaching at hand.

I almost forget that we established a one OT post per day per person some time ago when the OT privilege was being abused. I don't look on this as a hard and fast rule, but as a guideline that we expect old timers to honor and a means to control the new people who may become a distraction with too many off topic posts.

I'd like to welcome Woody, Denise and other new posters and members. Overall, the members here are intelligent, usually courteous, but will challenge any unrealistic claims or statements. The members here are certainly not sheep or Stepford wives as in the case of many groups.
