Solving the Mystery

My Friends,

Thanks for your comments on the principle of directed purpose. Several times in his writings DK has indicated that a new aspect of God will be revealed. He has hinted at it a number of times in his books and I have contemplated it for many years.

We will not get the aspect by a black and white interpretation of anything that has been written in the past, even by DK, but it must come through an intuitive perception to prepared disciples. Then, after it is understood and demonstrated by the few, it will be seen (to some extent) by the many.

What I have seen when I have attempted to tune in with my intuition is a different picture than presented by DK, but still in alignment with his writings. Allow me to write a few thoughts.

As you know there are three major aspects which are called by many names. They are the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, or Ray One, Two and Three which is also called Power, Love-Wisdom and Active Intelligence. What is lesser known is that each of these three major aspects are subdivided into three additional sub aspects. Since the new aspect to be revealed is connected with the First Aspect let us look at that.

What are the three sub-aspects of the First Ray? This would be the aspects of Will, Power and Purpose. The new revelation is connected with purpose. DK calls it the "Principle of Directed Purpose" but also tells us there is currently no word that accurately portrays it.

That said, let me tell you what I received when I contemplated the subject. There is a word that perhaps gives understanding of this new aspect as good or better than Purpose and that is Faith. When I say faith, I do not mean faith as interpreted by the zealous believer, but as originally portrayed by the Master in the scriptures.

Those with unworkable faith merely trust in their heart, or their feelings, which is not faith at all. "Faith" comes from the Greek PISTIS and literally means: "a mental conviction one has proven true by argument or reason". Thus if one has faith he will go to heaven he should be able to justify it by logical argumentation. One will notice that Paul, a big believer in faith, spent much of his time in logical argumentation.

The book of Hebrews gives an expanded definition: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb 11:1

We can again find that the Greek will give us a much clearer translation here. "Substance" comes from HUPOSTASIS and in modern translations it is usually rendered "assurance" or "confidence," but in reality one English word cannot do it justice. It more literally means "That state of mind which supports an idea through a sustained effort." "Evidence" comes from ELEGECHOS which means "to prove a matter true or false". The word indicates that faith establishes the true reality. Thus a clearer translation of the preceding verse would be: "Now faith is having that state of mind which sustains that which is hoped for and reveals the truth of those things we do not see."

Notice how close the true definition of faith is to DK's explanation of the mystery aspect.

Faith is "that state of mind which sustains that which is hoped for," and Directed Purpose is (according to DK) "Focused intention, ... Capacity to direct energy (through understanding and intent) towards a recognized and desired end, overcoming all obstacles and destroying all that stands in its way."

What does this tell us?

It tells us that even though Christ used and demonstrated faith many times that it was not understood by humanity and the true principle behind it is yet to be revealed.

Question: What is the principle behind faith? In other words, why is it that faith can produce the miraculous?

Hint: Think of what faith, purpose and focused attention have in common.
