Universal Religion

Just a short comment on Krishnamurti. I downloaded a number of his writings some time ago and read a few of them. He seemed intelligent, but I found many of them were a repetition of standard material in circulation.

Even so, I think I'll take a second look to see if I missed anything. If any of you find anything interesting in his writings please let us know.

There is one major drawback to his mission is that he failed to initiate anything that has filtered down to the average person.

Concerning Scientology Johann wrote:

"Yes I can very well understand that and I agree with that, it is a principle we must understand fully. What scares me though is the frog and the frying pan story. The more often we hear the name of Scientology the more we accept it without perhaps understanding the full implications of it. That's way it is so important to run everything by the soul and to check up on this, IMO. Ageless wisdom can be found anywhere and I am sure that Scientology has it's own little gems, and other Gurus that have gone corrupt as well.

"But if this can serve as a sample to study the principle of corruption ITSELF, then for my part, good."

I think overall you brought up some good questions, but I only planed on covering a small aspect of Scientology. We could spend a year on it if we went into detail. For the record, it is probably good that I have made a few comments on the group and its teachings.

As far as the slowly boiled frog analogy, I do not think it applies to this group. For a person to fully be taken in by a philosophy he usually must find himself surrounded by it as the frog was immersed in water. His trusted teacher and associates must feed him doctrine day after day and allow few other thoughts from the outside to enter in.

I think that both sides of the issues are presented here fairly enough with no one philosophy permanently dominates, that there is never time to bring the water to the boil contrary to the will of the student.

There is always the danger that someone could hear about some philosophy here and then check out the organization and become a groupie and be mesmerized outside of this group. But those of this mindset are in danger no matter where they are. These are looking for a master to tell them what to do and it never takes long to find one.

Let us get back to our study of the Reappearance.

DK [Djwhal Khul] writes:

"Their [disciples] task is to develop 'the mind that is in Christ' and as they do so, they will help make clear the way for 'the coming of His feet,' as the Bible puts it (Heb., XII, 13.) Seeing life and events in the light of the spiritual values, as He does, will facilitate the giving out of the new teaching and will provide the skeleton structure of the new world religion, thus giving us a fresh view of divine intention and a living insight into the minds of Those Who implement the divine will and are the engineers of humanity's future. Let us, therefore, try and appreciate not only the opportunity which Christ has to help us (which is the usual presentation), but let us look also at the crises and problems with which He is confronted as He faces the work which He must do. [68]"
(The Reappearance of the Christ - Chapter IV - The Work of the Christ Today and in the Future)

DK often talks about a universal religion that will emerge out of the many religions. Here he tells us that it is the duty of disciples to think as the Christ and provide a skeleton structure for this new world religion.

Now whenever someone talks about a world religion many conspiracy people conjure up images of the Beast forcing some particular religion upon the whole world. This is a far cry from that which DK is speaking. What those concerned about one world government and religion overlook is this.

A one world religion and government is inevitable, is a part of social evolution and there is nothing we can do to prevent it.

The question is not, will it happen, but how it will happen? In other worlds, is the one world going to be controlled by the forces of light or dark, by freedom or force?

Because of the principle of dominating good, domination by evil is temporary, but it can control for an uncomfortable period of time. The chances are that the one world we have will be a world dominated by Christ and the kings and priests (disciples) under his dominion.

Questions:

What do you suppose will be the ingredients of the one world religion?

How long do you suppose it will take to materialize?

What will happen to other religions?

What can we do as disciples to help?
