When and where is the next Gathering? 2005 is just round the corner and I'll like to start early to make arrangements to attend.

The 2005 Gathering is planned for Memorial Day Weekend in Sun Valley, Idaho. I hope to have everything solidified in a couple weeks then we'll start advertising it.

Concerning Rick's invention...

My main concern if I were you Rick would be protecting the invention so someone else does not patent it and prevent you from even using it. Would this be possible if you released it to public domain? Maybe you ought to talk with an attorney if you are considering this option.

You can apply for the patent on your own and save a bundle. I did it once and it wasn't too complicated. One thing I found out is that the search they do when you apply for a patent is much more thorough than a regular patent search. A patent search can miss a lot of similar patents.
