This is not correct. SHABBAT is spelled SHIN-BET-TAV. SHABTAI (not SHABBATAI) is spelled SHIN-BET-TAV-ALEF-YOD. Despite of this - your teaching remains intact.

I believe you are correct here. I couldn't find the actual Hebrew to compare, but the words are definitely related. A number of people translate these words into English with two "B's" for some reason, perhaps to emphasize the sound.
