Yes, Chris, a physical accident or disease can produce problems (and be created by problems) beyond the physical.
But such things can be overcome and neutralized thus making the pilgrim stronger and more whole than he would have been had he not had the problem.
Therefore, it is important to judge each person by what he is at the moment rather than what we may perceive through the normal understanding of what is whole or not whole.
If Hitler had any spiritual advantage over Roosevelt because he had no physical handicap it was not obvious. Despite being crippled by polio, Roosevelt was definitely more centered in the soul than the arch enemy of mankind.
